Over the past few months, we have been hearing frequent cases of green lines on Super AMOLED displays on Samsung flagships. It was not just Samsung though, even OnePlus flagships were affected by this issue, which is why even OnePlus was offering free replacements for affected screens last year.

Initially, the one-time screen replacement program was limited to the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series. But as newer Samsung smartphones have also started facing the same issue, Samsung has now extended the program to cover the Galaxy S21 and S22 series too.

But there’s a catch, you have to book an appointment for the free replacements at a Samsung Service Center by April 30th, 2024 in India. If you miss this deadline, you might end up having to pay for repairs yourself.

As we revealed in our own hands-on video, the Huawei Pura 70 comes with one of the fanciest cameras in the market, that features a large 1-inch sensor with a retractable lens.

There are two major benefits of a retractable camera design.

  1. Even though the lens is so large, since it goes inside, it is protected from unwanted scratches.
  2. Huawei can install a really large camera sensor in a compact space without the camera module poking out of the phone like an external accessory.

The retraction mechanism uses stepper motors and is also IP68 dustproof and waterproof certified. It’s a first for mass-produced phones to feature such an innovative camera design.

The Chinese audio brand iFlytek has released an interesting AI powered hearing aid that offers real time subtitles of the conversations happening around you, right on your smartphone.

The hearing aid comes in a special variant called the StarFire Edition, which utilizes real-time voice-to-text conversion, displaying conversations on a smartphone app, ensuring important information is never missed.

This could be a game changer for people with partial hearing loss. More details on the device are in our story here.

That’s pretty impressive given how each unit is over $1200.

The 2025 edition comes with a refresh rate of 144Hz and support for variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. The TV also comes with 120 Hz MEMC motion compensation. Notably, there’s a competitive mode that pushes the refresh rate to an even higher 240Hz.
