Samsung launched the redesigned Galaxy Buds 3 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10 along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Watch 7 series.

The Galaxy Buds 3 series includes two different models with a slightly different design and price tag – the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro. Let’s discuss the new earphones one by one.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3

The standard Galaxy Buds 3 comes with an open-type design and has a one-way 11mm dynamic driver. The dimension of the product is 18.1 x 20.4 x 31.9 mm. Speaking of weight, the earbuds and the charging case is 4.7 g and 46.5 g respectively.

As expected, the Buds 3 offers ANC functionality (Active Noise Cancellation) and equips a total of 3 Mics + VPU (Voice Pickup Unit) to identify the surrounding sound and automatically adjust the optimal level of noise and sound.

This pair of earbuds supports 24bit Hi-Fi audio and 360 Audio with Direct Multi-Channel.

The earbuds and the case pack 48mAh and 515mAh capacity respectively. When it comes to battery life, the earbuds can offer 5 hours of battery life with ANC turned on. With the charging case, Buds 3 offers a total battery life of 24 hours.

For connectivity, the TWS earphone packs Bluetooth 5.4 and supports Auto Switch for ease of use. For effective yet efficient audio transmission the earbuds support the following codecs – SSC(Samsung Seamless
Codec) HiFi, SSC UHQ (Samsung Proprietary), AAC, SBC. Speaking of ingress protection, the product is IP57 dust and water-resistant.

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

A lot of the aspects are common between the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro. However, the Buds 3 Pro comes with an in-ear type design and offers better audio quality with a 10.5mm Dynamic driver and an additional 6.1mm planar.

The earbuds are slightly heavier at 5.4g while the charging case weighs the same as the standard model. Buds 3 Pro packs a larger 53mAh battery. Speaking of ANC, the Buds 3 Pro also offers Ambient sound and Voice Detect for an even better listening experience. As you can see from the image, the Pro model also packs LED strips to inform you about the charging state and more.

Both the devices are available for pre-order in Samsung’s official website and are priced at ₹ 14,999 ($179.99) and ₹ 19,999 ($249) for the standard and Pro model respectively.
