REDMAGIC announced the REDMAGIC 6 and REDMAGIC 6 Pro gaming smartphones in March 2021. The REDMAGIC 6R was made official in May 2021 as a budget-friendly gaming flagship phone. Hence, it appears that the REDMAGIC 7 lineup will include at least three models such as REDMAGIC 7, REDMAGIC 7 Pro, and REDMAGIC 7R. Today, the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that it will be holding an unveiling event at 3 PM (local time) on Feb. 17 to announce the REDMAGIC 7 series.

It can be said based on recent reports that the upcoming launch event may see the arrival of two models: REDMAGIC 7 and REDMAGIC 7 Pro. These devices have reportedly appeared respective model numbers of NX679J and NX709J at Chinese certification platforms. The 3C certification of these models has revealed that REDMAGIC 7 and 7 Pro may debut as the world’s first smartphones with support for 165W fast charging. As far as the REDMAGIC 7R is concerned, the company may announce it a few weeks later.

REDMAGIC 7 specifications (rumored)

The REDMAGIC 7’s TENAA listing has revealed that it has a 6.8-inch OLED FHD+ display that may support up to 165Hz refresh rate. The screen is likely to be integrated with a fingerprint scanner. It will come preinstalled with Android 12 OS and the latest version of Red Magic UI.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will be present under the hood of the REDMAGIC 7. It may come with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The typical value of its battery could be around 4,500mAh. The rear side of the device has a 64-megapixel triple camera unit.

The REDMAGIC 7 Pro is yet to receive TENAA certification. Hence, its specifications are under the wraps. It is speculated that the REDMAGIC 7 lineup may include a model with an under-screen camera.
