    Design

The Redmi K70 and the Honor 90 GT are not made with premium materials: they feature a plastic body, so do not expect the most amazing look and feel. But they come with clean designs and very narrow bezels around the display, so they still look cool. With the Honor 90 GT, you can get a more compact phone: it is thinner and lighter, and it comes with narrower bezels around the screen. But I personally prefer the design of its rival because the camera module has the same color as the rest of the body, so it looks more elegant. Which one would you prefer?

    Display

The Redmi K70 is equipped with a slightly better display, at least on the paper. It is an OLED panel with a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, and HDR10+ certification. The screen is able to show up to 68 billion colors with a peak brightness of 4000 nits, and it sports an in-display fingerprint scanner. The handset is also equipped with stereo speakers for an enhanced audio experience. The Honor 90 GT has an AMOLED display with a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a 1.5K resolution of 1200 x 2664 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR certification, and a peak brightness of 2600 nits. The display sports an in-display fingerprint reader and you can even get stereo speakers on this phone too.

    Specs & Software

The Honor 90 GT and the Redmi K70 are both equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, which is the best chipset by Qualcomm if we exclude the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The chipset is built with a 4 nm production process and it has an octa-core architecture including a Cortex X3 CPU running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz, two Cortex A715 CPUs running at 2.8 GHz, two Cortex A710 CPUs running at 2.8 GHz, three Cortex A510 CPUs running at 2 GHz, and an Adreno 740 GPU. The Honor 90 GT wins the hardware comparison because it features up to 24 GB of RAM, while its rival stops at 16 GB of RAM. Both phones come with up to 1 TB of native storage. The big advantage of the Redmi K70 is the fact that it ships with Android 14 out of the box, customized by HyperOS, while the Honor flagship killer still comes with Android 13, customized by MagicOS 7.2.

    Camera

The Honor 90 GT has a more interesting camera department: both phones come with a 50 MP main camera and OIS, but the Honor has a better 12 MP ultrawide camera, while the ultrawide shooter found on its opponent is an inferior 8 MP sensor. The Redmi sports an additional macro camera, but it is pretty useless, and both phones include a 16 MP selfie snapper.

    Battery

The Honor 90 GT and the Redmi K70 are both equipped with a battery sporting a capacity of 5000 mAh. Given that they have the same battery capacity and the same processor, you can expect a similar battery life. However, the latter charges faster because it supports 120W fast charging instead of just 100W.

    Price

The Honor 90 GT is actually available in China with a starting price of €330 or $350, while you need about €320 or $340 in order to purchase the base variant of the Redmi K70. Which one would you pick?
