Honor X80 Pro Max runs Geekbench, revealing Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 performance

Qualcomm’s latest mid-range chipset, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, just showed up in Geekbench testing, giving us an early look at what to expect from upcoming mid-range phones.

Announced last month as the successor to the 6 Gen 4, this chip is expected to power devices like the Redmi Note series and others later this year. It recently appeared in benchmarking results on a device listed as the Honor X80 Pro Max (model BSN-AN00).

The CPU scores are pretty modest. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 posted a single-core result of 1,095 and a multi-core score of 3,355. For comparison, the previous-gen Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 in the Honor Magic 8 Lite scored around 1,112 single-core and 3,124 multi-core. So basically, there’s very little improvement in raw CPU performance.

That said, there are some positive points. The test device was running with 8GB of RAM on Android 16, and the chipset uses a new Adreno 812 GPU. Qualcomm claims this GPU is about 20% more powerful than the one in the 6 Gen 4, which could mean smoother gaming and fewer stutters in day-to-day use.

Official specs mention a Kryo CPU with peak speeds up to 2.6 GHz, support for LPDDR5 memory, and features like the Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0. Qualcomm is highlighting better app launch speeds, improved power efficiency, and tools like Snapdragon Game Super Resolution. There’s also an updated 5G modem for better connectivity.

Overall, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 doesn’t look like a huge performance leap on paper, especially in CPU terms. Instead, it seems focused on delivering a more balanced, efficient experience for the mid-range segment. We’ll get a clearer picture once real devices like the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G start rolling out.

Samsung revives 1.4nm foundry development to challenge TSMC and Intel, aims for mass production in 2029

Samsung 1.4nm process technology

Samsung is now restarting the development of its 1.4nm process technology (codenamed SF 1.4), The Bell reported. However, the mass production target has been pushed back to 2029, originally planned for 2027.

TSMC and Intel are currently leading the development of 1.4nm-class foundry technologies. While both are designated as 1.4nm products, each process technology is fundamentally different from the other. TSMC’s 1.4nm node is called A14, and Intel refers to its 1.4nm-class node as Intel 14A.

Samsung is looking to narrow the gap with its rivals as it has reportedly asked its equipment suppliers, including Applied Materials and Lam Research, to begin early development on the equipment for the SF 1.4 process. Both are key equipment partners, with their tools used across the company’s foundry and memory processes. The first set of tools will be delivered to NRD-K, which is Samsung’s cutting-edge R&D center for semiconductors.

Samsung’s 1.4nm tech was originally planned to enter mass production next year, but the company later adjusted it to 2029 to strengthen its 2nm processes, such as SF2 and SF2P. Not only did the company achieve high yields in its 2nm process, but it also secured orders for Tesla’s next-generation AI chips. Having achieved that, Samsung is now moving forward with the preparations for its 1.4 process.

ASML has delivered its next-generation High NA Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) to Samsung’s NRD-K. It will reportedly be used on select layers starting with the 1.4nm process. Samsung has also requested orders for equipment to develop its next-generation V12 NAND, which is expected to enter full-scale mass production around 2030.

Samsung’s rivals, Intel and TSMC, are ahead in the 1.4nm race. Intel plans to begin mass production of 1.4nm chips in 2027, while TSMC is eyeing full-scale production in 2028. That puts Samsung a year or two behind its rivals, but the South Korean giant has an advantage over TSMC since the latter isn’t using high-NA EUV tools just yet.

One UI 9.0 testing aggressively expands to budget Galaxy phones

Samsung One UI 9 testing for budget Galaxy phones

While the One UI 9.0 public beta is limited to the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung’s One UI team is doing a lot of hard work behind the scenes to ensure a timely release for other Galaxy devices. Internal testing has been underway for weeks, mainly for high-end and mid-range smartphones, but recently, a batch of budget phones has been spotted on the test server.

Many budget phones, including the Galaxy A07, Galaxy A17, and Galaxy A16, have been spotted on the server with a One UI 9.0 test firmware. This doesn’t necessarily mean a quicker release for these devices. Early testing gives the brand additional time to build and test the software to deliver a timely release without critical bugs.

In addition to these three phones, Samsung is internally testing the upcoming One UI 9.0 software on over two dozen devices. Below is the complete list.

Casio launches five new Edifice EFK-200 automatic watches

Casio has added a new line of automatic watches to its Edifice brand in Japan. The EFK-200 series consists of five models that incorporate materials like forged carbon and electroformed dials.

Casio Edifice EFK-200 watches

Design Details

The most expensive model in the new range is the EFK-200XPB-1AJF. Priced at ¥74,800 ($460), it features a case and dial made entirely of forged carbon. Forged carbon is a composite material created by mixing carbon fiber with resin and pressing it under high temperatures. This manufacturing process results in a random, marbled pattern on the watch’s surface and keeps the overall weight down to 81 grams. This specific model comes with a black ion-plated stainless steel bezel, a urethane band, and a push-button butterfly clasp.

Casio is also offering a mixed-material version, the EFK-200CD-1AJF. Priced at ¥55,000 ($338), this model retains the forged carbon dial but swaps the carbon case for a standard stainless steel one, paired with a solid stainless steel band. The change in materials increases the total weight to 153 grams.

The remaining three models in the lineup replace the carbon fiber with electroformed dials. Casio says that these dials are treated with a multi-layer lacquer to create a textured, gradient finish. The EFK-200D-2AJF and EFK-200D-4AJF feature standard stainless steel cases and bands and are priced at ¥55,000 ($338). The EFK-200DG-5AJF includes a gold ion-plated case and band, bringing its price to ¥66,000 ($406).

Internally, all five watches are identical. They are powered by a Japanese-made automatic movement visible through a screw-lock exhibition case back. The 21-jewel movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides a standard 42-hour power reserve. It includes a hacking seconds function and a date display, with Casio stating a mean daily accuracy of -20 to +40 seconds.

The physical dimensions are a notable shift for the Edifice brand. The cases measure 38mm in diameter, 43.6mm lug-to-lug (43.8mm for the carbon case), and 11.9mm thick, making them highly wearable for a variety of wrist sizes. Standard durability features remain intact across the board, with every model in the EFK-200 series including a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and 100 meters of water resistance.

Availability

The EFK-200 series is currently available for pre-order in Japan ahead of its official retail launch in July.

In related news, Casio has recently launched the W738H digital watch series in the US with vibration alerts, followed by three new retro-inspired A140WE digital watches.

Motorola Edge 70 Max WPC certification confirms built-in magnets and full Qi2 support

Motorola is bringing native magnetic wireless charging to its Edge series, and it looks like the upcoming Edge 70 Max is leading the charge.

The phone just showed up in the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) certification database on June 29, confirming support for the latest Qi 2.2.1 standard with the MPP25 power profile. This means it can deliver up to 25W wireless charging. The really exciting part is the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) certification, which confirms the phone has built-in magnets.

While most Android brands have only gone for the basic Qi2 certification (Basic Power Profile) on their premium phones, so far only the HMD Skyline and Google Pixel 10 series have included native magnets. This means you won’t need a special magnetic case to get everything working properly. Beyond faster wireless charging, the built-in magnets also make it much easier to attach accessories like wallets, car mounts, and tripods.

Apple users have enjoyed this seamless MagSafe experience for years, and Motorola is now joining the club alongside HMD and Google. Samsung is also rumored to bring native magnets with the Galaxy S27 Ultra. It’s a small but meaningful upgrade that many Android users have been waiting for.

Rumors about the Edge 70 Max sound pretty solid so far. It’s expected to pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor for strong performance, a 50MP Sony LYT-710 (1/1.56-inch) main camera sensor, and a modern flat display design. Color options are said to include green, light blue, and black, looking fresh and premium.

Overall, the Edge 70 Max feels like Motorola’s attempt to deliver a well-rounded premium phone that doesn’t just chase specs but also focuses on practical, everyday features. This certification is a strong hint that an official launch isn’t too far away.

Cuktech Power Bank 600 launches with 600W output, can power kettles and drills outdoors

Cuktech, a power-accessory brand in Xiaomi‘s ecosystem, has announced its largest power bank yet. The Cuktech Power Bank 600 went up for pre-order today on JD.com in China and will officially go on sale on July 7 at 10:00 AM. It’s priced at 1399 yuan (~$205), with a launch discount bringing it down to 1299 yuan (~$190).

Cuktech 600W powerbank

Cuktech Power Bank 600 Specifications

Unlike Cuktech’s smaller, phone-focused power banks — such as the Cuktech CP25, a 20,000mAh model the company launched last month — the Power Bank 600 is built for outdoor and emergency use. It has a rated output of 600W and can support devices drawing up to 1000W, meaning it can run appliances like kettles, electric cookers, and hot pots that would overload a typical portable charger.

Cuktech says the battery can handle around two uses of a 600W kettle, roughly 3.4 hours with a 120W ice maker, or about 8 hours running a 50W car fridge, depending on the scenario. It uses lithium iron phosphate cells rated for 4,000 charge cycles, retaining over 80% capacity even after that many cycles. The outer shell is made from V-0 fire-retardant material for added durability and safety.

Cuktech Power Bank 600 Design and Specs

The device supports 600W MAX self-charging through bidirectional inverter technology, letting it go from empty to full in just about 1.5 hours. It also offers Type-C, car charger, and solar panel charging options.

The Power Bank 600 has seven output ports total, including two Type-C ports (up to 140W and 100W), two USB-A ports, dual AC outlets rated at 600W, and a car charger port. It supports widely used fast-charging protocols including PD, PPS, QC, and Xiaomi’s own fast-charge standard.

Moto Pad 70 Pro vs Xiaomi Pad 8: Which Tablet is Right for You?

The Android tablet market has steadily improved over the last few years, moving past simple media consumption devices into tools that can genuinely help you get work done. Back in March, Xiaomi released the Pad 8, which quickly became a reliable option for people looking for a capable, mid-range productivity device. Now, Motorola has introduced the Moto Pad 70 Pro, aiming at a very similar audience.

Both tablets run on the same Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and share similar base specifications, but they take noticeably different approaches to design, software, and overall value. If you are trying to decide between the two, here is a practical look at how they compare.

Xiaomi Pad 8

1. Design and Display

The most obvious difference between these two tablets is their physical size. The Moto Pad 70 Pro is a large device. It features a 13-inch, 3.5K LTPS IPS display. Because of its size and its 589g weight, it is best suited for use on a desk, paired with a keyboard, or propped up on a stand. It isn’t the kind of tablet you will comfortably hold in one hand while reading on the couch. The screen itself is sharp and fluid, thanks to a 144Hz refresh rate, and the quad-speaker system tuned by JBL provides clear audio for video calls and media.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 is noticeably more portable. It has an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD screen and weighs 485g. This makes it much easier to carry in a small bag or hold for longer periods. Xiaomi opted for a 3:2 aspect ratio, which is generally better for reading documents and browsing the web because it shows more vertical content.

Additionally, Xiaomi offers a specific Nano Texture Display variant. This version uses an anti-glare coating that reduces screen reflections by 70%. If you frequently work outdoors or in brightly lit offices, this matte-like finish is a very practical feature that Motorola doesn’t currently offer.

2. Software and Daily Performance

Since both tablets use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and come with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, you won’t notice much difference in raw performance. Both handle multitasking, web browsing, and standard office applications smoothly. The real difference is in how the software is organized.

Motorola’s approach with the Moto Pad 70 Pro leans heavily into connectivity and AI tools. The tablet includes a Productivity Interface that offers a desktop-like layout when you need to manage multiple windows. It also features Smart Connect, which is genuinely useful if you want to share files or sync your clipboard between the tablet, a Motorola phone, and a PC. The built-in AI tools, like Smarter Reader, are designed to help summarize long documents or translate text on the fly.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 takes a slightly different route, focusing heavily on traditional office work. The software includes a PC-level web browser that supports mouse-hover previews and right-click menus, making it feel closer to a laptop experience. Xiaomi has also integrated WPS Office directly into the operating system, which is very convenient if your daily work involves formatting spreadsheets, creating slide decks, or editing PDFs.

3. Accessories and Value

When you are buying a tablet for productivity, you usually need accessories, and this is where the purchasing decisions diverge.

Motorola includes the Moto Pen Pro in the box with the tablet. For anyone who takes handwritten notes, signs documents, or sketches, having the stylus included is a significant cost saving. If you want the keyboard, Motorola sells it for ₹5,999, and they offer a bundle discount if you buy it with the 256GB model.

Xiaomi, on the other hand, sells all of its accessories separately. The Xiaomi Focus Pen Pro costs ₹5,999. If you want a keyboard, the standard version is ₹4,999, and the more advanced Focus Keyboard is ₹8,999. This means outfitting the Xiaomi Pad 8 for full productivity will add a noticeable amount to your final checkout price.

4. Battery Life and Build

The Moto Pad 70 Pro fits a large 10,200mAh battery into its chassis, supporting up to 45W fast charging. It also comes with an IP52 rating, meaning it can handle light dust and minor splashes of water.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 has a slightly smaller 9,200mAh battery with 45W charging. Xiaomi estimates this will provide about 9.3 hours of video playback. Both tablets will easily get you through a standard workday of mixed usage, though Motorola’s larger battery gives it a slight advantage if you are traveling and away from an outlet for longer stretches.

5. Pricing and Final Thoughts

Pricing for the Xiaomi Pad 8 has shifted recently. Due to component shortages, Xiaomi increased the prices across the board. The base 8GB/128GB model now costs ₹35,999, and the 12GB/256GB version is ₹38,999. The Nano Texture model sits at ₹40,999.

The Moto Pad 70 Pro is launching at ₹36,999 for the 8GB/128GB model, but early buyers can get it for ₹32,999 with bank offers.

Choosing between them comes down to how you plan to use the device. If you prioritize portability, prefer a screen ratio tailored for reading, or specifically need an anti-glare display, the Xiaomi Pad 8 remains a very capable choice.

However, if you want a larger screen that closely mimics a laptop, the Moto Pad 70 Pro is hard to ignore. The fact that Motorola includes the stylus in the box, combined with the larger battery and splash resistance, makes it a highly practical and cost-effective option for getting work done on Android.

Timex launches retro-inspired Marlin America 250 watch with leather strap

Timex has released a new special-edition version of its Marlin watch to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. The Marlin America 250 is available now on the company’s official US website for $169. It is a straightforward, vintage-styled quartz watch that incorporates a few specific design changes to fit the anniversary theme.

Timex Marlin America 250 Watch

Design Details

The watch uses a 34mm polished stainless steel case. At 34mm wide and 9.5mm thick, it is significantly smaller than most modern men’s watches, which usually sit between 38mm and 42mm. This smaller footprint is an intentional choice by Timex to replicate the standard watch sizing from the mid-20th century.

For the dial, Timex went with a silver-white background featuring a commemorative America 250 logo. The color palette is a direct reference to the US flag, using deep blue for the partial Arabic numerals, a red sweeping second hand, and blue and white for the main hour and minute hands. The main hands also have standard luminescent paint for basic visibility in the dark.

Covering the dial is a domed acrylic crystal. While modern watches typically use mineral glass or sapphire, acrylic was the standard for vintage watches. It scratches more easily than glass, but it is highly impact-resistant, and you can buff out minor scuffs with polishing paste. Inside the case, the watch is powered by a standard battery-operated quartz movement using an SR626SW battery.

Timex Marlin America 250 Watch

The watch comes with an 18mm blue leather strap stamped with a crocodile-grain pattern. It features quick-release spring bars, allowing you to swap out the strap using just your fingers instead of a specialized pin tool. According to the spec sheet, the band is designed to fit wrist circumferences between 5.9 and 8.1 inches.

Durability-wise, the Marlin America 250 offers a basic water resistance rating of 30 meters. This makes it suitable for everyday hand-washing or accidental splashes, but Timex explicitly says it is not designed to withstand swimming or diving.

Sennheiser launches its first clip-on earbuds with 12mm drivers, LDAC & 36h battery

Sennheiser is adding a new form factor to its audio lineup with the Accentum Clip, the company’s first set of open-ear, clip-on wireless earbuds. Following a global launch earlier this month for $269.95 CAD, the earbuds are now rolling out in China for 1,499 yuan ($220).

Sennheiser Accentum Clip

Sennheiser Accentum Clip Specifications

Instead of using silicone tips that sit inside the ear canal, the Accentum Clip attaches to the outer ear using a flexible hook. It is a design built specifically for people who want to listen to audio while maintaining full awareness of their surroundings.

Each earbud weighs 6.8 grams, and the total package with the charging case weighs 57 grams. They come in two standard colors, Cream White and Classic Black, and have an IP54 rating, meaning they can handle light rain and sweat.

For audio, Sennheiser is using a 12mm dynamic driver. Because open-ear designs naturally struggle with sound leakage and bass response, the company has included a specific internal damping system to limit how much audio bleeds out to people nearby.

Sennheiser Accentum Clip

The earbuds also use a Dynamic Equalizer that adjusts the frequency response based on your volume. If you are listening at lower volumes, the EQ boosts the bass and finer details, then gradually flattens out as you turn the volume up to keep the sound balanced.

The Accentum Clip supports the SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs, allowing for higher-resolution wireless playback on compatible devices. Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 6.0, and the earbuds support multipoint, so you can connect them to a phone and a computer at the same time and switch between them.

For phone calls, the earbuds use an environmental noise cancellation (ENC) algorithm to filter out background noise and isolate your voice. You control playback and calls using touch panels on the back of the buds, which also support smart pause and single-earbud use.

Sennheiser Accentum Clip

All customization, including EQ adjustments and control mapping, is done through the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app on iOS and Android.

Battery life is rated at up to 36 hours total when factoring in the USB-C charging case. The case also supports fast charging for quick top-ups when the battery is running low.

In related news, Honor has launched the Earbuds 5e with adaptive 52dB ANC, LHDC 5.0 support, AI-powered features, and up to 45 hours of battery life, while Lenovo has introduced its new Yoga earbuds with 40dB ANC and up to 36 hours of total battery life.

Apple eyes China’s largest DRAM maker as Samsung DRAM prices soar

In a pretty interesting move, Apple is reportedly lobbying the US government to allow it to buy memory chips from a Chinese manufacturer. This follows Samsung raising RAM prices by 100% earlier this year, a hike Apple reportedly accepted without negotiation.

According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the situation isn’t just about higher prices anymore: it’s turning into a real supply crunch that could last through 2027. Lenovo has even warned that the higher prices could become the “new normal.”

In a post on X, Kuo mentioned that Apple is actively trying to keep ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT, also known as Changxin Memory) off the US Entity List so it can potentially purchase DRAM chips from them.

CXMT is China’s biggest DRAM maker, but it’s reportedly on the Pentagon’s blacklist because of alleged military ties. That makes any business with them politically sensitive. Still, Apple appears willing to navigate these tricky waters as memory supply for consumer devices gets squeezed.

Kuo predicts that a big chunk of memory production, around 15-20% of what’s allocated to consumer electronics in 2026, could shift toward data centers and AI infrastructure in 2027. This reallocation is already affecting supplies of LPDDR memory, which is critical for mobile devices. As a result, Apple’s orders for the upcoming A20 chip might come in 10-20% lower than originally planned for late 2026 and early 2027.

We’ve already seen DRAM and NAND prices shoot up, and even Tim Cook has publicly talked about the sharp cost increases.

Adding CXMT as a potential supplier probably won’t completely solve the problem or drastically cut costs because the company’s own production capacity is still limited. But for Apple, it’s about diversifying sources and reducing risk, especially as Apple Intelligence demands more memory.

It remains to be seen whether the US government will approve the request, but the story highlights growing vulnerabilities that could affect phone pricing, availability, and innovation for years to come.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra camera spec leak: 12MP UW replaced with 50MP one

Samsung is getting ready to launch its next generation of foldables, and the latest leak points to a significant camera upgrade for the Ultra model.

According to a report out of South Korea, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to upgrade its ultra-wide camera from 12MP to a much sharper 50MP sensor. That’s a solid jump and should bring better detail, improved low-light performance, and more versatile wide-angle shots.

The rest of the Ultra’s triple camera setup is expected to stay mostly familiar: a 200MP main sensor and a 10MP 3x telephoto lens. Combined with the new ultra-wide, it could finally give the Fold a more balanced and capable camera system.

For comparison, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 (sometimes called the “Wide” variant in leaks) is rumored to have a dual rear setup with a 50MP main and a 50MP ultra-wide. The Z Flip 8, on the other hand, doesn’t look like it’s getting major camera changes: it’s likely sticking with the same 50MP main + 12MP ultra-wide combo as before.

These camera improvements fit into the bigger picture for Samsung’s 2026 foldables. We’re also hearing about slimmer designs, better hinges with less visible creases, and improved performance.

The Z Fold 8 Ultra, in particular, is shaping up to be the most capable model in Samsung’s eighth-generation foldable lineup, with the largest display, biggest battery, and best camera hardware.

Of course, these details are still based on supply chain leaks and haven’t been officially confirmed by Samsung yet. The company is expected to unveil the full Z Fold 8 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22, 2026.

If the reports are accurate, that 50MP ultra-wide upgrade on the Ultra model could be one of the more noticeable improvements for foldables this year, finally addressing a weak point from previous generations and making the phone feel a bit more competitive with traditional flagships.

BigMe HiBreak Dual 2 Launches as “World’s First” Large Dual-Screen Color E-Ink Phone

BigMe has taken the wraps off its newest e-ink phone, the HiBreak Dual 2, and launched it on Kickstarter. The company calls it the world’s first large dual-screen color e-ink phone, and it builds on the original HiBreak Dual that BigMe launched not long ago.

BigMe HiBreak Dual 2 launch specs price

BigMe HiBreak Dual 2 Specifications

The standout feature here is the phone’s two large displays. On the front, it has a 6.13-inch color e-ink screen that is great for reading, note-taking, and long stretches of screen time without tiring your eyes.

Flip it over, and there’s a 5-inch LCD panel for everyday tasks like watching videos, browsing apps, and viewing photos in full color. This is a big jump from the original HiBreak Dual, which paired its e-ink front with a much smaller 1.85-inch circular LCD on the back. With the Dual 2, both screens are roughly the same size, giving users two full smartphone experiences in one device.

The phone also comes with stylus support, so users can take notes or sketch directly on the e-ink screen, similar to writing on paper.

BigMe HiBreak Dual 2 Design

Under the hood, BigMe has upgraded the chip too. While the original HiBreak Dual ran on an older MediaTek Dimensity 1080, the new HiBreak Dual 2 uses the more powerful Dimensity 8300, paired with 5G network support. It runs Android 16 out of the box, a notable update over the previous model’s Android 14.

As for pricing, BigMe has rolled out a tiered system for backers. The early bird prices start at $699 and $769. Once the standard Kickstarter pricing kicks in, the Standard Edition starts at $899, while the Kickstarter Exclusive Edition is priced from $989.

BigMe has steadily built out its e-ink lineup over the past year, from phones to tablets, readers, monitors, and digital photo frames, and the HiBreak Dual 2 is its most ambitious phone yet.

Lenovo launches kid-friendly AI phone with no games, GPS tracking & parental controls

Lenovo has launched a hyper-focused, stripped-down mobile device called AI Student Phone in China aimed squarely at students and their parents. It is priced at just 299 yuan (roughly $44) and ditches games, web browsers, and social media entirely in favor of AI-assisted learning, location tracking, and strict parental controls.

Lenovo AI Student Phone

Lenovo AI Student Phone Specifications

From a hardware perspective, it resembles a feature phone rather than a traditional smartphone. It has a small 1.83-inch touchscreen protected by impact-resistant Panda glass and supports handwriting input. Inside, it runs on a 1,850mAh battery and connects to standard 4G networks. It doesn’t require a special IoT SIM card, making it relatively easy to set up for standard voice and HD video calls.

The software is intentionally limited. The main feature is a physical AI button that activates a voice assistant. Kids can hold the button to ask general knowledge questions or get help with their homework. The phone also comes preloaded with an educational library covering math formulas and English vocabulary. The goal is to provide a reference tool for schoolwork without giving kids open access to the wider internet.

For parents, the device functions as a comprehensive tracking tool. It uses GPS for real-time location monitoring and supports geofencing, which sends an alert to a parent’s phone if the child leaves or enters a specific area, like a school or neighborhood.

Lenovo AI Student Phone

Through a companion app, parents can manage the phone remotely. They can block unknown callers, schedule when the phone turns on and off, and activate a classroom mode. When this mode is turned on during school hours, the phone is restricted to just showing the time and making emergency SOS calls.

Lenovo also included a QR code-based mobile payment system. Kids can use the phone to buy things in stores, while parents can set spending limits and monitor transactions through the app to make sure the feature is used responsibly.

The phone comes with a detachable lanyard for convenient carrying and is available in orange-white, pink, and blue color options.

In related news, Lenovo has recently refreshed its GeekPro desktop with an Intel Core i7-14700F, Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti, and 24GB of DDR5 memory. The company also recently launched an affordable full-size gaming keyboard with RGB lighting.

OnePlus N6 5G debuts as premium looking entry-level phone with 8000mAh battery, Dimensity 6360 Apex chip

OnePlus has finally launched the N6 in India, a new entry-level smartphone that’s clearly going after users who want serious battery life. OnePlus is promising multi-day usage on a single charge, which should appeal to anyone who spends long hours away from a wall socket.

That said, most of the internals of the N6 are what you’d expect from an entry-level phone: capable enough for everyday use, while leaving plenty of room for the mid-range Nord series to stand apart.

The phone sports a big 6.8-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1200 nits peak brightness. It comes in two colors: Fresh Mint (a nice light green) and Midnight Black. The design feels premium for the price, with a rounded square camera module, and solid build quality. It even carries an IP65 dust and water resistance rating.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex 5G chipset, along with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. A large 5,300mm² vapor chamber helps keep things cool during longer sessions. On the back you’ll find a 50MP main camera with a 2MP monochrome lens, while the front has an 8MP selfie shooter. It supports 60fps video, Dual-View recording, and several AI camera features like AI Eraser and AI Unblur.

But the real star is the massive 8,000mAh battery, one of the biggest you’ll find in this price range. It supports 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging. OnePlus claims it can last up to three days with normal use.

It runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box. Software support includes two major Android updates and three years of security patches.

Pricing and availability:

Pricing starts at ₹22,999 for the 4GB+128GB version and ₹24,999 for the 6GB+128GB model. It goes on sale July 4 on Amazon.in, and with launch offers and bank discounts, you might be able to grab it for as low as ₹19,999.
