OnePlus 12 Full Display Details Surface Via a New Leak; New Images of the Phone Also Live

OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of its next flagship, i.e., the OnePlus 12, on December 4th in China. Ahead of the launch, there have been ample leaks and official teasers confirming most of the technical specifications and features coming on the smartphone. A reputable leakster, Digital Chat Station, has shed some light on the full display specifications of the OnePlus 12.

Must See: OnePlus has worked with Oppo Find series’ imaging team for OnePlus 12’s camera system

As per the post, the OnePlus 12 is set to feature a 6.82-inch BOE AMOLED Display with 3168 x 1440 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The 2K+ display offers 2160Hz PWM dimming and 510-pixel density, thanks to the diamond-shaped pixel arrangement on the display.

The DC dimming will help users enhance comfort during prolonged use.

As even teased officially by OnePlus, the display will offer 4500 nits maximum brightness. However, as per the DCS, the display only reaches up to 1722 nits upon testing. It seems there could be a specific “Sunlight” algorithm on the OnePlus 12 that will help users with comfortable use under the sun while keeping efficiency intact. The Oppo’s Display P1 chip and the precise pixel-level calibration algorithm help to improve the quality, brightness, and efficiency of the display.

It would be the top-notch quality display in the 2K segment in China, which has even secured DisplayMate A+ certification.

Apart from the Display Specifications, the OnePlus officially teased its Camera features. OnePlus 12 will incorporate a triple-rear camera setup with a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor, a 64MP OmniVision periscope lens, and a 48MP Spny IMX581 ultra-wide lens. It will have the same 13-channel multi-spectral sensor present on the OnePlus 11.

OnePlus 12 is set to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. It will pack a 5400 mAh battery with 100W charging adapter. We expect a few more leaks and teasers just before the launch.

Rumors are rife that the Magic 6 lineup will debut in January 2024. Ahead of the expected launch, the vanilla model has received approval from the 3C authority in China.

Honor Magic 6 3C certified

According to reports, the upcoming Honor Magic 6 has the “Bvlgari” codename. While the BVL-AN00 is said to be associated with the Magic 6, the Pro / Ultimate models are said to have the BVL-AN16 and BVL-AN20 model numbers. As can be seen in the screenshot below, the Magic 6 device has bagged the 3C certification.

The certification reveals that the Magic 6 will ship with an HN-110600C00 / HW-110600C02 power brick that supports up to 66W fast charging. To recall, the Magic 5, Magic 5 Pro, and Magic 5 Ultimate came with support for 66W charging. The Pro and Ultimate models offer 50W wireless charging. OnePlus 12 tipped to launch on January 23 in India, will feature 4500nits bright display

OnePlus 12, which was supposed to launch on December 4th will now be launching on December 5th instead in China. That being said, reputable tipster Max Jambor has leaked the global launch date of the smartphone.

As per a recent tweet by Max, the OnePlus 12 will be launching in the global market starting in India on January 23rd. Interestingly, the tipster mentions the OnePlus 12 series, hinting at the possibility that the OnePlus 12R might also tag along with the flagship. This comes after an earlier report leaked the global launch date of the OnePlus 12 series.

Moving on, the brand has put out a new teaser revealing key details about the display of the OnePlus 12. The X1 “Oriental Screen” onboard the device, which is jointly created by OnePlus and BOE will feature a mind-blowing 4500nit peak brightness. Currently, the industry standard for flagship phones is around 2,600 nits, which is actually quite bright in its own right. However, with the 4500nits brightness, we don’t think there will be any issues with screen visibility even in outdoor conditions.

Previous reports have mentioned that the display achieved six major breakthroughs. Notably, it stands out as the world’s first 2K display to secure DisplayMate A+ certification. This certification underscores its excellence in color accuracy, brightness, and overall display quality.

The display integrates OPPO’s inaugural Display P1 chipset, featuring high-precision pixel-level calibration algorithms. This not only ensures superior picture quality but also contributes to lower power consumption. A noteworthy feature is the implementation of single-pixel calibration technology, ensuring independent calibration for each pixel and delivering a visually seamless experience.

To address eye protection, the Oriental Screen incorporates high-frequency PWM Dimming, blue light filtering, and DC Dimming. These features aim to enhance user comfort during prolonged use. Additionally, the display tackles concerns related to OLED life decay by boasting a lifespan exceeding twice the industry average.

Another teaser has unveiled the camera specifications of the OnePlus 12, confirming the use of a new flagship Sony camera sensor. Further details on this can be found by following the provided link.

Ford will Establish “Retail Replenishment Centres”, Similar to General Motors

Ford has announced plans to establish “retail replenishment centers.” This initiative emerges as a response to various challenges Ford has faced in the EV market, aiming to alleviate the burden on its dealerships and enhance customer experience.

Ford aims to cut costs for the average customer

These centers represent a strategic shift in Ford’s inventory management. By reducing the inventory each dealer needs to carry, Ford aims to cut costs and expedite the delivery of EVs to customers. Notably, these centers are not just storage facilities but are designed to optimize the distribution process. The specifics of these centers’ operations and locations remain undisclosed, but they are expected to be situated in proximity to dealerships for efficiency.

Ford F-150

The concept of retail replenishment centers is particularly beneficial for Ford’s Certified Elite dealers. These dealers will maintain a limited stock for customer test drives while relying on the centers for additional inventory. This system promises faster delivery times for customers and a more cost-effective inventory model for dealers.

Ford’s approach mirrors a trend seen in other automotive giants like General Motors, which has established centralized EV fulfillment centers. This shift signifies a broader industry move towards more efficient and consumer-friendly distribution models.

Alibaba’s Co-Founder Jack Ma is Now Treading into the Prepackaged Food Industry in China

Jack Ma, renowned as the mastermind behind Alibaba, one of China‘s largest e-commerce platforms, is making a surprising shift in his business focus. Recently, Ma launched a new venture in the prepackaged food industry. This move is a significant pivot from his established realm of digital commerce.

Demand for precooked meals has surged since COVID

The inception of Ma’s new company, capitalized at 10 million yuan (about $1.39 million), marks a fresh chapter in his career. It’s fascinating to observe this transition, especially considering his step back from Alibaba’s board in 2020. While he remains a key influencer in Alibaba as a “partner,” his latest endeavor is quite a leap from his e-commerce legacy.

AliBaba

This foray into the food sector isn’t just a random pivot; it reflects a keen business acumen. The demand for precooked meals has surged in China, largely due to pandemic-induced lifestyle changes. By tapping into this growing market, Ma is aligning with current consumer trends.

The backdrop to this venture is China’s increasingly strict regulatory environment, particularly in the tech sector. This might have influenced Ma’s decision to diversify. His time abroad, with stints in Japan, Europe, and Southeast Asia, seems to have broadened his perspective, especially in agriculture and aquaculture. For instance, his visit to Kindai University’s aquaculture research facility in Japan and his investment in an aquaculture startup demonstrate his growing interest in this area.

Vivo S18, S18 Pro design tipped, Vivo S18e also in works

In June, Vivo unveiled the Vivo S17 series, which includes three models, namely the Vivo S17e, the Vivo S17, and the Vivo S17 Pro. The brand is now said to be working on successor editions of all three phones. In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Station shared details about the design of the S18 series. In addition, he also leaked the camera specifications of the S18 Pro.

Vivo S18 series design

Vivo S18 series schematic
Vivo S18 series schematic

Earlier this week, DCS shared the above schematic to reveal the design of the iQOO Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro smartphones that are expected to launch in December in China. The tipster shared a similar image again in a new Weibo post and claimed that the Vivo S18, which is also expected in December in China, will have a very similar design.

While the iQOO Neo 9 series will have a flat display, the S18 and S18 Pro are likely to feature a curved-edge OLED screen. There could be some differences in the rear camera module as well, since the S18 series will have a telephoto camera, a feature not likely to be present in the Neo 9 series.

The leak reiterates that the Vivo S18 will have the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, whereas its Pro variant will be equipped with the Dimensity 9200 Plus SoC. Both phones are expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

Both phones will have a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support. While the Pro model will feature the Sony IMX920 lens as the main camera, it is unclear whether the standard model will have the same primary camera. The Pro model’s camera module is tipped to include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a telephoto camera.

Another leaker has claimed that the Vivo S18, which bears the V2323A, will arrive in four configurations, such as 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage, and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. To recall, the S17 and S17 Pro were available in the same configurations. Hence, it is likely that the S18 Pro will also have the same variants as the S18. The same tipster also revealed that the Vivo S18e is also in the works, and it will have a flat display instead of the curved-edge one that was available on the Vivo S17e. All three phones are expected to arrive in black, green, and a multi-color hue.

Poco X6 Pro 5G could be rebranded Redmi K70e, reveals NBTC certification

The Poco X6 series could be one of the smartphones to debut in the first quarter of 2024. The Poco X6 Neo 5G (model number: 2312FRAFDI) was recently approved by India’s BIS certification platform, and the Poco X6 5G (model number: 23122PCD1G / 23122PCD1I) has been approved by some certification platforms like Singapore’s IMDA, Europe’s EEC, and India’s BIS. Now, the Poco X6 Pro 5G has bagged approval from the NBTC certification platform in Thailand, as per a report by TheTechOutlook.

The NBTC certification of the Poco X6 Pro 5G reveals that its model number is 2311DRK48G. This device has been spotted previously in the database of other certification platforms, such as IMDA, EEC, and TKDN (Indonesia). The India variant of the phone, which has also bagged BIS certification, has the 2311DRK48I model number. These certifications reveal that the Poco X6 Pro 5G will be a rebadged version of the Dimensity 8300-Ultra powered Redmi K70e, which will debut later today in China.

Redmi K70e
Redmi K70e

The NBTC certification debunks rumors that claimed that the Redmi K70e will be rebranded as Poco F6 5G in the global market. In August, Poco revealed through the POCO Partners SEA Forum in Thailand that it will be launching a flagship phone featuring the Dimensity 9200+. It is likely that this device, which seems to be the POCO F6 5G, could be based on the Redmi K60 Ultra, which packs the same chip.

As far as other Poco X6 series phones are concerned, it is speculated that the Poco X6 Neo 5G will be a tweaked version of the Redmi Note 13R Pro 5G available in the Chinese market. Instead of the 108-megapixel camera available on the Note 13, the X6 Neo is said to feature a 64-megapixel primary camera. The Poco X6 5G, on the other hand, is said to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G available in China.
