Honor finally locks in a debut date for Honor 500 and 500 Pro

Late November is turning into a packed launch season. Huawei has already locked in a Mate-series event, OnePlus is expected to follow soon, and now Honor is joining the rush.

The company has officially confirmed that its new Honor 500 series will debut in China on November 24th at 19:30 local time.

Honor says the lineup will include two models: the Honor 500 and Honor 500 Pro. The company has already revealed its basic design, which is an iPhone Air-style horizontal camera module paired with a flat back panel.

And while Honor hasn’t announced full specs yet, earlier reports have given us a good idea of what to expect.

Honor 500 Pro

The Pro model is expected to feature a 6.55-inch display with a 2736×1264 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Inside, the Honor 500 Pro is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Qualcomm’s top-tier processor. It could be paired with up to 16GB of RAM and a huge 1TB of storage, though the base model will likely start at 12GB/256GB.

Honor 500 Pro

Keeping everything powered is a massive 8000mAh silicon battery, combined with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Both phones are expected to ship with MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.

Honor is also aiming high with its camera hardware. The Pro may house a 200MP main sensor, though one well-known leaker, DCS, claims that early prototype image quality might not fully translate to production models due to “limitations in image processing.”

The phone is also tipped to include a 64MP periscope camera, an ultra-wide shooter, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and Honor’s own C1+ RF chip for better signal performance.

Honor 500

The regular Honor 500 will also feature a 6.55-inch OLED display, 1.5K resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate (via DCS). Both models are expected to come with a 50MP front camera.

Honor 500

On the back, the Honor 500 could ship with a 200MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. It’s rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, a toned-down version of Qualcomm’s flagship processor, but still plenty capable.

Like the Pro, the standard model may also get an 8000mAh battery, this time with 80W charging, though wireless charging could remain exclusive to the Pro. Other specs include dual stereo speakers, an E2 energy efficiency chip, and IP68/IP69/IP69K chip.

Huawei’s Mate 80 Series and Mate X7 are officially launching on November 25

Huawei has finally put an end to months of rumors by confirming the launch of the Mate 80 series. The company will host a major product event on November 25 at 2:30 PM China time to announce the new Mate devices.

Alongside its new flagship phones, Huawei is also announcing the Mate X7 foldable at the same event.

The first teaser image for the event keeps things minimal. It shows no specs, no silhouettes, nothing major. But it does show two large circular outlines. These are likely hints at the Mate 80’s round camera system and a magnetic ring on the back of the case.

Huawei Mate 80 series

Huawei is reportedly preparing four models this year:

  • Mate 80
  • Mate 80 Pro
  • Mate 80 Pro Max (replacing the previous Pro+ version)
  • Mate 80 RS Master Edition

The Pro Max seems more like a renaming exercise than a huge redesign, but all models are expected to share some major upgrades.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro
Expected to be the Huawei Mate 80 Pro

One of the most noticeable changes will be support for 3D face recognition across all models. It was previously reserved for the top-end models. The series is also said to feature a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a refreshed red-maple-colored camera module.

Rumors from China also claim that Huawei could offer the Mate 80 phones with a massive 20GB of RAM. All models are expected to run on the new Kirin 9030 chipset, a successor to the Kirin 9020 from the Mate 70 series.

Huawei may also be testing a built-in active cooling fan, something rarely seen in mainstream flagships.

Huawei Mate X7

Alongside the Mate 80 series, Huawei will introduce the new Mate X7 foldable. This generation reportedly features a larger 7.95-inch 2K foldable screen with UTG ultra-thin glass, a bigger battery, improved cameras, and a lighter, thinner body.

Huawei Mate X7

It will also share the Kirin 9030 chip and come in new colors like Obsidian Black, Phantom Purple, Cosmic Red, Cloud Blue, and Cloud White.

As always, all of this remains unconfirmed until launch day — but with only a week to go, we won’t have to wait long to see what Huawei has been building.

Apple targets spring 2027 for iPhone Air 2 as foldable prep continues

Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone Air 2 in spring 2027, according to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The device will continue the company’s ultra-thin smartphone project and is expected to feature Apple’s first 2-nanometer chip, which should improve battery life and overall efficiency.

iPhone Air 2 mock render
iPhone Air 2 mock render

Apple uses the Air lineup to refine components for its upcoming foldable iPhone

Earlier this week, reports conflicted over the status of the iPhone Air 2. The Information initially claimed that Apple had delayed the phone indefinitely due to underwhelming sales of the first-generation model. However, a separate report later clarified that Apple had only postponed the launch by six months, shifting its release window from fall 2026 to spring 2027.

Gurman’s latest report confirms the delay but emphasizes that Apple never intended the iPhone Air line to follow the company’s usual annual iPhone update cycle. Apple chose not to name the current model “iPhone 17 Air” in order to distinguish it from the Pro and standard variants.

The iPhone Air 2 is not expected to receive a major visual redesign. Apple is focusing on incremental upgrades, with the primary improvement centered on battery life. The more efficient 2nm chip is expected to drive that gain. Apple is also considering adding a second rear camera for ultrawide shots.

Apple had originally projected the Air to account for roughly 6 to 8% of new iPhone sales, similar to what the iPhone 16 Plus achieved. It received prominent placement during the September keynote, but marketing has since tapered off. Much like the iPhone mini, the Air appealed to a narrow segment and didn’t turn that interest into significant sales. Even with a price set $100 below the iPhone 17 Pro, it lags in battery endurance, thermal performance, and camera capability.

Internally, Apple is using the iPhone Air lineup to test components and design choices that could support its future foldable iPhone. The Air shares many structural and material similarities with Apple’s ongoing foldable prototype, and serves as a testbed for supply chain and engineering processes.

iQOO 15 vs Realme GT 8 Pro: We Have a Clear Winner

iQOO 15 and Realme GT 8 Pro are two of the most competitive flagship killers in the same price segment, making this a crucial comparison for anyone looking for maximum value. Both phones offer top-tier performance, premium designs, and cutting-edge features usually found in higher-priced flagships. What makes this comparison important is how differently they approach user needs; one prioritizes raw performance and gaming power, while the other focuses on all-around refinement, cameras, and convenience. This breakdown helps identify which flagship truly fits your daily use.

1. Design and Display

Build and Feel

The Realme GT 8 Pro looks more premium with eco-leather and metal frame options, offering a softer, more refined hand feel. Both feel high-end, but Realme’s finish and materials give it a more polished, lifestyle-friendly appeal, while iQOO suits users who prefer a tougher, more energetic design identity.

Display Quality

Both phones offer smooth 144Hz LTPO AMOLED screens with excellent clarity. The iQOO 15 focuses on vivid colors and a more immersive viewing experience, ideal for gaming and HDR content. The Realme GT 8 Pro delivers higher peak brightness and more accurate color tuning, making it better for outdoor use and users who want true-to-life tones. Realme feels slightly more precise, while iQOO feels more cinematic and entertainment-driven.

Verdict

iQOO wins for users who want a bold design and a more immersive, vibrant screen. Realme appeals to those who prefer a premium finish and better color accuracy. Both excel, but Realme edges ahead in refinement, while iQOO stands out in gaming-style visual impact.

Main & Secondary Lenses

The iQOO 15 delivers reliable results with its triple 50MP setup, offering consistent colors and smooth autofocus. The Realme GT 8 Pro jumps ahead with a 200MP periscope, Ricoh optics, and advanced HDR video features, giving it better zoom, detail, and creator-level versatility. Realme is clearly more advanced for serious photography.

Selfie Camera

Both have a 32MP selfie camera with 4K recording. iQOO produces more natural skin tones and balanced exposure, ideal for realistic selfies. Realme adds Dolby Vision and stronger stabilization, better for vloggers and users who prefer brighter, more dynamic selfies.

Verdict

Realme wins with its superior zoom, sharper imaging, and stronger video tools. The iQOO 15 is dependable for everyday shots but isn’t as advanced. Realme is the clear choice for creators, while iQOO suits users who want simple, consistent photography.

4. Pricing

Both cost around $650, but Realme offers more flagship-tier extras like 120W charging, eco-leather, and advanced camera hardware. The iQOO 15 still offers great value for performance-focused users thanks to better sustained power and a more immersive display.

Users wanting more features for the same price may lean toward Realme, while gamers and power users may favor iQOO.

Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, and applicable taxes.

5. Conclusion

Between the two, the Realme GT 8 Pro stands out as the better overall choice, offering a more premium design, faster charging, a brighter and more accurate display, and a significantly more advanced camera system that benefits everyday users and creators alike. It delivers stronger all-round value for most people. The iQOO 15 is the better pick only for heavy gamers or users who prioritize long-duration performance and a more immersive, vivid screen experience. Overall, Realme suits a wider audience, while iQOO suits performance-focused users.

Xiaomi launches new 12kg front-load washing machine with HyperOS and 25 smart modes

Xiaomi has launched the new Mijia 12kg front-load washing machine (model XQG120MJ103) in China. The appliance is now available on JD.com and other platforms at a retail price of 1624 yuan ($228).

Mijia 12kg Washing Machine

Mijia Washing Machine Specifications

The new Mijia washing machine supports a large 12-kilogram washing capacity inside a slim 562mm body. Xiaomi designed the machine with an embedded-friendly layout that fits inside standard cabinets while maintaining enough internal space to wash bulky items such as bed sheets, jackets, and denim. Compared to the older 10kg model, the drum is now 40mm deeper, allowing more room for fabrics to move and wash effectively.

The machine runs at 1800W and reaches up to 1200 rpm spin speed, and works within a water pressure range of 0.05MPa to 0.8MPa. Xiaomi claims the machine delivers a wash performance ratio of 1.2. The system uses 3D dynamic water-flow technology that combines deep penetration, directional flow, and wide-angle splash to remove stains efficiently. The washer includes intelligent load sensing that adjusts drum speed and water flow based on the weight and type of fabric.

The machine runs on a DD direct-drive inverter motor with a 1:1 transmission ratio. It uses magnetic levitation to reduce vibration and noise. Xiaomi has added a six-axis damping system, four shock absorbers, a high-density top cover, and a patterned side panel to minimize operational noise. The motor comes with a 10-year warranty, while the machine carries a 3-year warranty.

The appliance supports high-temperature steam sterilization with claimed 99.999% sterilization, 100% mite removal, and 99.999% virus elimination. It includes a 95°C drum cleaning mode, an automatic door gasket spray function, and an antibacterial door seal that resists mold buildup. Xiaomi reports that the antibacterial gasket is 99.9% effective.

There are 25 wash and care programs, including options for wool, silk, sportswear, down jackets, and children’s clothing. It also includes a 15-minute quick wash, steam deodorization, fragrance care, and a fresh-spread function that prevents odor if users forget to unload clothes.

The washing machine supports Xiaomi HyperOS Connect and works with the Mi Home app and XiaoAi voice assistant. It lets users control wash cycles remotely, adjust settings, schedule delayed washes, receive reminders, and check real-time status.

In related news, Xiaomi recently launched a premium-feel sterilizer priced under $150, as well as a smart foot spa that heats, massages, sterilizes, and folds for easy storage.

OnePlus 15 Gets More Powerful, But at What Cost? Key Changes from the OnePlus 13

OnePlus has just launched its newest flagship, the OnePlus 15, but despite a fresh set of specs and a bigger battery, some key changes raise eyebrows. But what was really surprising was the price hike in Idia. On paper, the OnePlus 15 offers clear performance gains, but it also comes with compromises when compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13. From display hardware shifts to camera downgrades, here’s a detailed look at what has changed.

1. Display Changes: Smoother, But Less Sharp

OnePlus 15
OnePlus 15

Even before the release of the OnePlus 15, it was clear that the brand was steering away from its flagship killer focus and becoming a performance focused premium phone that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg like iQOO flagships. The new OnePlus 15 brings a super smooth 165Hz refresh rate; however, it achieved this by making changes to the display resolution.

While the OnePlus 13 featured a QHD+ screen, the OnePlus 15 downgrades to a 1.5K resolution. So you’re losing the sharper display for a faster panel, which you would only notice in select games that support the higher refresh rate. By default, the screen usually functions at a 120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus has defended the decision as a trade-off for fluidity and efficiency, but this seems like a slight trade off. However, if you look at it from a performance perspective, the lower resolution also enables better performance in games.

2. Camera System: Goodbye Hasselblad, Hello DetailMax

OnePlus 15

One of the biggest compromises for long-time OnePlus fans: the Hasselblad branding is gone on the OnePlus 15. In its place is a new “DetailMax” imaging engine, which OnePlus says enhances clarity and low-light performance through AI processing. The triple 50MP setup remains (main + ultrawide + telephoto), but the telephoto zoom has increased to 3.5× optical.

On paper, it’s an improvement, but the smaller sensor sizes and narrower apertures reportedly hurt low-light performance, especially compared to the 13’s more mature camera setup. For users who bought the 13 for its Hasselblad-optimized camera, this feels more like a sidestep than a leap.

3. Performance, Cooling, & Battery

OnePlus 13 Arctic Dawn
OnePlus 13

On the performance front, the OnePlus 15 is a clear upgrade. It is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is a newer, more efficient chip that outpacesthe OnePlus 13’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. Keeping these beefy specs cool is the new Glacier cooling system that pairs a vapor chamber with aerogel insulation to sustain high performance even under load.

The OnePlus 13 already impressed with a 6,000mAh battery pack that supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. But the OnePlus 15 takes things a step further with a gigantic 7300mAh Silicon NanoStack battery (largest in OnePlus history) that supports 120W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. There is also Bypass Charging support to avoid heating during gaming sessions.

4. Pricing Reality

This is where the tension really builds. The OnePlus 15 is launching in India at a higher price than some expected. In the Chinese market, all of these changes translated to a more affordable flagship phone. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case in the Indian market. The OnePlus 13 debuted for Rs 69,999 in India, but its successor arrives with a Rs 3,000 price hike. So, the OnePlus 15 starts from Rs 72,999 for the same 12GB + 256GB model.

If your priority is speed, efficiency and marathon battery life, the 15 is worth checking out. Although, this launch makes it clear that OnePlus is no longer competiting in the high end market with Samsung and Apple in terms of a more rounded premium experience.

Both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset and run on Android 16 with ColorOS 16. Charging speeds reach 80W wired and 50W wireless. For front cameras, the Find X9 offers a 32-megapixel sensor while the Pro variant includes a 50-megapixel unit.

Premature retailer listings often appear before official announcements. While these can be accurate, they may also change later. It is therefore wise to treat this information cautiously until Oppo confirms the final pricing.

A new development now indicates that the brand is working on the Realme Neo 8 for the Chinese market. Another leak that appeared more recently claims that it will be equipped with a Samsung display.

Purported Realme Neo 8’s screen details emerge

Oppo Reno 15 Song Yuqi Limited Edition to debut tomorrow, only 23 units to be sold

Oppo will unveil the Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro tomorrow (Nov. 17) in China.  The brand will also offer a limited edition created in partnership with Song Yuqi, a popular Chinese singer, dancer, and member of the K-pop group (G)I-DLE. Here’s what you need to know about the special edition phone.

Oppo Reno 15 Song Yuqi Limited Edition

Oppo will not only announce the standard Reno 15 but will also introduce an exclusive Song Yuqi limited edition. This version is finished in a colorway called Starlight Bow and will be available only in a 16GB+1TB configuration.

What makes it stand out is its extremely restricted production run of just 23 units globally. Each handset is etched with its own number on the side along with Song Yuqi’s signature, complemented by a redesigned engraving pattern that differentiates it from the regular options.

Oppo Reno 15 specifications (expected)

The Reno 15 features a fresh aesthetic approach with an industry-first holographic lithography process and a full metal middle frame. The front uses a 1.15mm narrow bezel flat display, and the camera module adopts a cold-carved style similar to recent iPhone designs. Reports have revealed that it features a 6.32-inch flat display with a 2640 x 1216 pixels resolution.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, paired with a 6200mAh battery and support for 80W fast charging. Its rear cameras may include a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. For selfies, it has a 50-megapixel camera on the front. Colour options include Starlight Bow, Aurora Blue, and Canele Brown.

Oppo Find X9 Pro teleconverter kit price leaks ahead of India launch

Oppo is preparing to launch the Find X9 series in India on November 18th, and much of the mystery around pricing has already been cleared.

A new leak adds to earlier reports by revealing not just the price tags of the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, but also what buyers may need to spend if they want the teleconverter kit designed for the Pro model.

According to the latest leak, the teleconverter kit for the Oppo Find X9 Pro will cost ₹29,999 in India. The accessory allows the phone’s native 3x optical zoom to go up to 10x optical zoom.

The Find X9 Pro features a rear camera setup led by a 200MP HP5 periscope sensor, a 50MP main, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel multispectral sensor.

The kit includes a Hasselblad teleconverter, a magnetic handle, a magnetic protective case, and a professional shoulder strap. The magnetic handle also features a tactile shutter button and an ergonomic grip.

Paired with the Find X9 Pro’s price of ₹99,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant, the complete setup would push the total to roughly ₹1,30,000.

The regular Find X9 is expected to land at slightly more approachable numbers. According to the leak, it will cost ₹74,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option, while the 16GB/512GB configuration may cost ₹84,999.

If these prices hold up, the Find X9 lineup is landing in India at noticeably higher prices than in China. For comparison, the base X9 starts at CNY 4,400 or some ₹55,000 in Oppo’s home market. And India being a price-sensitive market, this will shape how the phones are received in India.

Anthropic claims China-backed group used AI for massive cyberattack

Anthropic has reported what it calls the first documented large-scale cyberattack executed primarily by an AI system. The company said the incident occurred in mid-September 2025 and involved its Claude Code tool being misused to carry out a sophisticated, multi-stage intrusion campaign.

cyberattack
Credit: watchguard

According to Anthropic, the attackers used agent-like AI capabilities to perform up to 90 percent of the work. Human involvement was minimal, limited to a few key decisions during each cycle. The company stated that hackers posed as cybersecurity researchers and used jailbreak techniques to bypass safeguards. They instructed Claude to complete a series of small tasks that, together, formed an automated cyber-espionage operation.

Anthropic said the attackers targeted nearly 30 organizations, including tech companies, financial institutions, chemical manufacturers, and government agencies. The AI system handled reconnaissance, wrote exploit code, extracted credentials, identified vulnerabilities, and exfiltrated sensitive data. It also compiled detailed reports that helped the attackers plan future operations.

The company said its investigation linked the attack to a Chinese state-sponsored group, although it did not disclose the specific evidence. The Chinese embassy denied involvement. Anthropic has banned the attackers from using Claude and notified affected organizations and law enforcement agencies.

Cybersecurity researchers have expressed skepticism. Martin Zugec from Bitdefender said the report lacked verifiable threat intelligence and called the claims speculative. He acknowledged the growing risk of AI-driven threats but stressed the need for transparency.

Anthropic argued that AI tools are essential for both attack and defense. It used Claude to help analyze the breach and called for stronger AI safeguards and better coordination among industry and government.

The report suggests that AI systems can now perform tasks that once required entire teams of expert hackers. Anthropic warned that the barrier to advanced cyberattacks has dropped and urged organizations to adopt AI-powered security tools to counter emerging threats.

In related news, reports suggest AI search engines increasingly surface low-traffic websites over major sources, and LSE predicts Gen Alpha could rely on voice rather than keyboards at work by 2028.

Vivo Confirms Red Color Variant for X300 Ahead of India Release

Vivo is getting ready to launch the X300 series in India on December 2. Ahead of the launch, the company has teased an exclusive Red color variant for the standard Vivo X300, which was leaked back in October. The teaser was posted on Vivo India’s official X handle, confirming that this Red finish will only be available for the base model and not for the Pro or FE versions.

The video shows a Red and Grey color combination. The back panel is Red with a plain leather-like finish, and the Vivo branding at the bottom appears in Grey. The frame is also Grey, and the antenna lines match the same shade. Vivo says the compact X300 has “never looked this powerful,” highlighting how the Red finish changes the look of the device.

This is similar to what Vivo did with the Vivo X200 Ultra, which launched in April 2025 and also came in a Red variant. The brand appears to be continuing the same approach for its flagship lineup this year.

Vivo X300

Landing pages for the Vivo X300 series are already live on Flipkart and Amazon. These listings confirm that the phones will be available on both platforms and highlight features such as the Telephoto Birds Shot mode and the Vivo X300 photography kit for Indian buyers.

Camera details for both models have also been revealed. The standard X300 features a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPB sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 1/1.95-inch LYT602 periscope telephoto camera with telemacro support. The phone is shown in the new Red color.

The X300 Pro includes a 50MP 1/1.28-inch LYT828 main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HPB sensor for its 85mm periscope telephoto camera with telemacro. Both models come with a 50MP front camera. The Pro model is shown in Gold.

Vivo has also highlighted the X300 Pro Photographer Kit, which includes a case and a ZEISS 2.35x Telephoto Extender. It will be sold separately, similar to the Europe bundle.

The phones are confirmed to feature the Dimensity 9500 SoC, V3+ and VS1 dual imaging chips for the Pro model, and run Origin OS 6 with features like Flip Cards, Vivo Office Kit, and One-Tap Transfer with iPhone.
