Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

According to the noted leakster Ice Universe, the upcoming Galalxy S22 Ultra will produce better, more detailed pictures by using the new image quality enhancement mode, powered by artificial intelligence. Infinix gearing up to launch sub-20,000 INR 5G Phone in India in January

Infinix is gearing up to launch its first 5G smartphone in the Indian market. The company will be releasing a new 5G enabled handset in January 2022, as per a senior official.

Infinix Note 11 Featured A

In an interview with India Today, Anish Kapoor, CEO of Infinix India, confirmed that its first 5G smartphone will be making its way to India, sometime in January. He further added that the Hong Kong based smartphone maker will also be launching a new 55 inch TV, which is set to be released in the first half of next year as well. In other words, apart from entering the 5G handset market, the brand is even expanding its presence outside of smartphones as well.

Notably, this expansion even includes its recent InBook X1 notebook offering, marking its entry into the laptop market in India. Kapoor stated that “We are launching the first 5G phone in India by the end of January. There are customers who are looking to buy a 5G phone when the technology hasn’t rolled out. We are looking to build a portfolio where customers can either get a 4G phone with top notch specs or can opt for 5G. The cost of the latter is, of course, higher. Once the rollout happens, 5G devices will be more affordable.”

Infinix InBook X1 Noble Red

He further added that “There are a lot of factors involved in deciding the price of a phone. It’s not just the component pricing, the dollar has appreciated by 8 percent in the last few months and that affects the overall pricing. Even then, we are aiming not to cross that Rs 20,000 price point.” So, we can expect a smartphone under the 270 US Dollar price point to be unveiled soon, which also means that its a mid range handset.

Realme GT 2 series will have a paper inspired design and world’s first 150° camera

Earlier today (20th December 2021), Realme held the Innovation Forward online special event for its upcoming GT 2 series. In the live stream, the company announced a number of new technologies and features that will be arriving on the flagship lineup.

Paper Tech Master Design

In the past, the Chinese smartphone brand had worked with Naoto Fukasawa for its “Master Design.” Now, Realme announced that it is working with the known Japanese industrial designer again for its GT 2 Pro. The new design is called Paper Tech Master Design, which is inspired by paper and offers a premium minimalist look. Apart from the design, the company even placed a focus on the environmental impacts of the materials as well. The GT 2 Pro will feature the world’s first bio-based smartphone design, which reduces the carbon footprint during the production process.

Realme

World’s First 150° Ultra Wide Camera

During the event, Realme also showcased its trend of unveiling new camera technologies with its smartphone offerings. So to continue this tradition, it is launching the GT 2 Pro with the world’s first 150° ultra wide camera. As the name suggests, this wide angle lens offers users a 150° field of view, which is 278 percent more than typical primary smartphone cameras that have a 84° field of view. Notably, the company has even developed the world’s first Fisheye Mode on a smartphone that produces an ultra long depth of field effect for more creative photography.

Realme

Antenna Array Matrix System

The brand even unveiled its new Antenna Array Matrix System that will power the connectivity features of the GT 2 Pro. This includes a new Antenna technology, enhancements to WiFi, and a handy 360° NFC connectivity. The new Ultra Wide Band HyperSmart Antenna Switching supports 48 mainstream global brands that makes it compatible in over 150 nations. It even offers a new non-wraparound Antenna technology, which basically offers 12 wraparound antennas instead of just two on the top and the bottom of the device.

This conventional leads to a “death grip” during gaming as users tend to hold their phones from the top and bottom, hindering the signal. So with the additional antennas, gamers get a strong and uninterrupted connection during intense online games. Additionally, its enhanced WiFi allows for a 20 percent improvement in WiFi stability as well, based on WiFi 6 enhanced version. Lastly, it supports 360° NFC technology that makes it more handy in terms of practicality. So now, rather than just using the back of the smartphone where the NFC module is housed, users can simply use NFC by just bringing their device closer from any angle for a proper connection.

More vivo S12 series live images leak ahead of launch, this time revealing phones in all of their glory

The vivo S12 series is set to arrive on December 22 and we already have got official renders at hand. But renders never do any justice and one can only perceive a phone in all of its glory either through an in-hand experience or at least through real-life images. While we indeed have had a couple of leaked live photos in the past, they were the teaser kind and barely showed much of the device.

But that has changed now, courtesy of “Technology small cloth” on Weibo, who has posted three high-quality images each of both the vivo S12 and S12 Pro. The S12 has a boxier design and has been showcased in gold with a subtle gradient finish while the S12 Pro is rounder and sports a charcoal black color. The colors of both phones get a touch of additional elegance through the use of a bit of glitter that not only makes them more lustrous but also appears to give them a slight texture.

Upfront, there are dual selfie cameras on both phones. On the vivo S12 Pro, the primary selfie camera is expected to be a 50MP sensor, paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens. The two cameras are housed within notches, which while might look a tad more intrusive when compared to single punch-hole selfie cameras, are a reasonable trade-off as they promise the ultimate selfie shooting experience.

The images further reveal that the vivo S12 series comes with extremely slim bezels, at least on three edges. The S12 Pro appears a bit more premium and should feel slightly better in the hand thanks to the inclusion of a curved display. Chins of both devices are cropped off in the images, although we are positive that they will be quite slim given the premium overall designs.

Moving on to specs, rumors say that the S12 Pro will be powered by a Dimensity 1200 chipset and will have a 6.5-inch OLED panel at the front. The battery is expected to be around 4,200mAh with support for 44W fast charging. But perhaps the most unique feature of the device comes in the form of dual front-facing LED flashes, stuffed into the top bezel itself.

NIO unveils ET5 Electric Sedan to rival Tesla Model 3, offers 1,000km range

NIO has just announced new electric vehicle. The new car in question is the ET5 Electric Sedan that joins its larger ET7 model as an entry model and will likely rival the popular Tesla Model 3.

Nio

The new ET5 arrives with an interior design that is quite similar to the ET7, albeit, in a more compact form factor. This new car will basically be the Chinese electric vehicle maker’s entry level EV, which offers a sleek and modern design that enables it to offer a a drag coefficient as low as 0.24. The NIO ET5 electric sedan is powered by a 150kW at the front and 210kW at the rear, which produces a combined 360kW or 483 hp and 700Nm or 516 lb-ft of torque.

In simpler terms, its engine is capable of offering a 0 to 100km/h in just 4.3 seconds. This is further supplemented by the in house developed 4 piston fixed calipers with aluminum casting that enables it to completely stop in just 33.9 meters from the same speed. Talking about its range, the ET5’s range was tested in China’s light-duty vehicle test cycle (CLTC) and achieved 550 km with the 75 kWh Standard Range Battery. With its long range 100 kWh Long Range Battery, it achieved over 700 km while its 150 kWh Ultralong Range Battery had it see range of more than a whopping 1,000 km.

NIO

Other interesting features include, a 10.2 inch HDR display on the center console and support for PanoCinema that features AR and VR tech that can be used along with the respective custom built ET5 glasses. The new NIO ET5 will hit Chinese dealerships by September 2022 and is priced at 328,000 Yuan (roughly 51,500 US Dollars). Unfortunately, the automobile maker has yet to announce any launch date for markets outside of China, although, it is confirmed to meet the five-star C-NCAP and Euro NCAP standards, so we can expect to hear more about this soon.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra back cover feels neither like glass nor plastic, according to industry insider

A notable tipster has revealed that the texture of the back cover of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra feels neither like glass nor plastic and could be some bio-based material.

The info comes from Ice Universe who said that the information comes from “people familiar with the matter.” The exact material of the rear panel seems unclear at the moment but Ice suspects that it could be camouflage glass or even a new material entirely, possibly bio-based.

s22 ultra back panel ice universe

By “bio-based” it’s likely that the tipster is indicating towards some eco-friendly or recyclable material. realme seems to be going down a similar road with its flagship realme GT2 that will be making use of an industry-first paper-like material with a focus on the environment, so it could be possible that both phones will feature similar materials.

However, there have been alleged live images of the S22 Ultra and its dummies earlier, which if true, seem to show the phone with a matte finish that’s not too different from the one found on the S21 Ultra. But Ice Universe’s tweet concerns the texture or feel of the phone and not its looks, so there’s that.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
Leaked live image of the S22 Ultra’s rear

A comment under the same tweet further reveals that this new material will be featured only on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the regular S22 and S22+ models will not be coming with it.

Coming to the flagship phone itself, rumors say that it could be rebranded as the Galaxy S22 Note being the proper successor to the Note 20 Ultra it is. As for specifications, a Geekbench 5 listing had earlier revealed that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor that will be paired with between 8GB and 12GB of RAM. An Exynos variant could also be in the cards.

Further revealed was that the phone will be packing a large 5000mAh battery and will feature a waterdrop notch upfront. The display will be an ultra-smooth one thanks to 120Hz refresh rate support.

iqoo u5 5g

Judging from the image, the iQOO U5 5G will be available in three colors that are white, light blue, and charcoal black. The white and light blue colors seem to have a gradient finish of the kind that shifts colors depending on the angle you’re looking at the device from.

However, unlike the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, it appears that the secondary display at the rear has been ditched this time.

Earlier during the 2021 Snapdragon Technology Summit, Qualcomm Technologies launched a new generation of its flagship Snapdragon processor called the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. On the same day, Lei Jun confirmed that the Xiaomi 12 series will be equipped with the same.

A new leak showcases the Mi Sans as well as the Mi Prototype 210317 fonts used in the upcoming MIUI 13 operating system. These new fonts will replace the Mi Lan Pro VF (Little Milan Pavilion Pro VF) font that is currently used by Xiaomi.

From the leak, it appears that the new fonts have more rounded texts with smoother lines when compared to the current font, giving it a modern look. Further, it is revealed that the font contains two special characters — the Xiaomi logo and the MIUI logo.

Do note that the new Mi Sans font that Xiaomi will be using in the MIUI 13 is different from the ones that are available in the current version. The Mi Lan Pro VF fonts have been in use since MIUI 11 and with the MIUI 12.5, the company just renamed the same font to Mi Sans to prepare for the upcoming major change.

As of now, there’s not much known about what specifically the company is upgrading in the upcoming version of MIUI but we expect some major changes in terms of revamped design and addition of new features. Xiaomi is also set to get rid of some of the existing features, including Screen On Time and Weather Super Wallpaper.

In related news, a list of smartphones from the company set to be the first ones to receive the new update has leaked online. The list includes premium phones like Mi 11 Ultra, Redmi K40 Pro, and others as well as the mid-range Mi 11 Youth Edition.

Based on the leaks so far, the upcoming Apple iPhone SE 3 is expected to come with a 4.7-inch Retina HD LCD display and will also feature a Home button with a fingerprint sensor embedded. It is likely to be the last Apple smartphone to come packed with an LCD display panel and a home button.

The device is expected to come powered by the Apple A15 processor along with 3GB of RAM while the Plus variant will pack 4GB of RAM. The chipset also brings support for 5G connectivity to the phone. There will still be a 12-megapixel single camera sensor on the back with improved photography features.

In its recent estimate, J.P. Morgan says that this new iPhone SE could lure nearly 1.4 billion low to mid-range Android phone users and about 300 million older iPhone model users. It has raised estimates for fiscal 2022 iPhone SE sales to 30 million units and annual iPhone shipments expectations to 250 million units, which is 10 million higher than this year.
