Motorola launches budget Moto G and Moto G Play (2026) in the West

Motorola has just announced two new phones in its budget ‘G’ lineup. Called the Moto G and Moto G Play, both carry the 2026 suffix as well. The announcement comes late in 2025, which might explain why Motorola’s already stamping next year’s date on them.

Don’t go by the names, though. These are classic Motorola slabs built for the basics.

Moto G (2026) and G Play (2026) Specifications

The two phones share most of the essentials, including a 6.7-inch display with 120Hz refresh rates, up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, and, for the first time on a Play model, 5G support.

On the camera front, the Moto G 2026 sports a 50-megapixel main sensor with Quad Pixel processing and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The Play version keeps things simpler with a 32-megapixel rear shooter and an 8-megapixel front camera.

Of course, no phone in 2025 is skipping the AI hype. Motorola’s adding a few light AI photo tricks here, like Night Vision and auto-smile detection, which should come in handy for casual shooting.

Power comes from a 5,200mAh battery that Motorola claims can last up to two days. However, the Moto G supports faster 30W wired charging, while the Play is capped at just 18W.

Both devices get Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front and IP52 water resistance, meaning they’ll survive the occasional splash but not much more.

Motorola isn’t saying much about what’s powering these phones under the hood, but on the software side, they ship with Android 16, Motorola’s usual software extras, and baked-in Google Gemini tools.

Price and Availability

The Moto G 2026 will sell for $199.99 in the U.S. starting December 11, first through Motorola’s website and later through major retailers and carriers.

The Moto G Play 2026 launches earlier, on November 13, for $169.99, and will also roll out across multiple retail and carrier channels. Both phones will arrive in Canada around the same time.

AOC 24G51Z monitor

AOC 24G51Z Specifications

The AOC 24G51Z features a 23.8-inch Fast IPS panel with QD (Quantum Dot) film backlight technology, delivering vibrant colors and wide color coverage. The panel supports a native 240Hz refresh rate, which users can overclock to 260Hz via the OSD menu. It also offers a 1ms GTG response time and a 0.3ms MPRT mode for improved clarity during fast-paced scenes.

The monitor supports Adaptive Sync and AOC’s MBR Sync, which inserts black frames between images to reduce motion blur without lowering brightness. It reaches 400 nits peak brightness and carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, enabling improved contrast and highlight details in supported content.

AOC claims the panel achieves Delta E < 2 (sRGB) color accuracy. It covers 96% of the DCI-P3 color space and 93.8% of Adobe RGB, making it suitable for both gaming and color-sensitive tasks. The display also supports hardware low-blue-light filtering and DC dimming to reduce eye strain during long sessions.

The 24G51Z includes AOC’s custom Overdrive tuning, optimized for 3.74ms response time with just 6% overshoot, helping reduce ghosting and trailing effects. The monitor also comes with gaming features such as on-screen crosshairs, an FPS counter, dark field control, and several preset gaming modes. These settings can be adjusted and customized through the AOC G-Menu software.

In terms of connectivity, the monitor includes DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The body supports −5° to +23° tilt adjustment and is compatible with 100×100mm VESA wall mounts. It weighs 2.49kg with the stand and 2.25kg without it.

Dobot’s New $1,000 Robot Dog Might Be the Smartest Pet You Can Buy

Dobot is bringing factory-grade robotics into your living room with the launch of the Rover X1, the world’s first household intelligent robot priced at 7,499 yuan ($1,053). But this isn’t just another quadruped that does a cute dance on command; it’s designed to be a full-fledged smart assistant that can patrol your home, teach your kids to code, follow you through the woods, and carry your groceries.

Dobot Rover X1

Dobot Rover X1 Specifications

The Rover X1 runs on a dual-vision tracking system that gives it omnidirectional perception. It constantly maps and analyzes its surroundings in real time, making autonomous decisions without relying on manual commands. That makes it smarter than most home robots currently stuck in reactive mode. Its hybrid wheel-leg design lets it scale small slopes, move across grass, and handle hardwood floors while carrying actual cargo.

Dobot Rover X1

Dobot envisions the Rover X1 not as a toy but a multipurpose platform. You can mount a camera on its back for autonomous filming, let it patrol your home while streaming real-time footage to your phone, or turn it into a programmable learning tool. The open system supports both drag-and-drop visual coding and syntax-based programming, making it an ideal entry point for kids exploring robotics.

Dobot Rover X1

The robot can also function as an emotional companion. It follows voice commands, trails its owner around the house, lights up expressively, and even hauls small items like school bags or water bottles. In a world filled with smart speakers and AI bots stuck in a corner, the Rover X1’s mobility and modularity give it a distinct edge.

Dobot Rover X1

Detailed specs and an official product page are still under wraps, but if Dobot can back this up with durable hardware and usable software, the Rover X1 could redefine what it means to have a smart companion at home.

In related news, OpenAI-backed 1X Technologies has unveiled Neo, a $20,000 humanoid robot designed for home use, set to ship in 2026 with AI-driven task automation and remote assistance capabilities.

The best Windows on ARM laptops you can buy right now

It wasn’t that long ago that Windows laptops with ARM processors felt experimental—okay for basic tasks, but weaker than x86 (Intel/AMD) machines in performance and compatibility.

That narrative has largely changed thanks to the launch of Snapdragon X (and its variants) silicon from Qualcomm. Most of today’s AI-focused Windows on ARM machines now run on a Snapdragon X-series chip using ARM architecture, rather than the traditional x86 platform that has powered Windows laptops for decades.

The difference this time is that the hardware finally feels mature. The Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus offer strong performance, excellent battery life, and cool-running designs.

On the software side, Windows 11—and the broader “Windows on ARM” initiative—now includes improved emulation of x86 and x64 apps via Microsoft’s “Prism” layer, meaning most Windows programs will run even if they aren’t yet compiled natively for ARM.

So, if you’re in the market for a laptop where portability and battery life matter most, Windows on ARM machines are more compelling than ever. Here are some of the best Windows on ARM machines you can choose from.

1. Microsoft Surface Laptop 7

Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 Specs Price

Microsoft has been the biggest believer in Windows on ARM, and the Surface Laptop 7 might just be the device that embodies that belief best. It keeps Microsoft’s familiar minimalist aesthetic: clean, slim, and free of attention-seeking design tricks.

Inside, you can choose between the Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite chips, with up to 64GB of RAM depending on the region. Storage goes up to 2TB, but the more interesting part is that the drive is user-replaceable. If you like the idea of starting with lower storage and upgrading later, this laptop makes it easy.

The Surface Laptop 7 also offers some of the best battery life in the Windows on ARM ecosystem. If your workload involves documents, video calls, and web browsing, it easily lasts a full workday — and then some.

You can choose from four color options: Black, Silver, Blue, and Gold. However, the Blue version is limited to the 13.5-inch model.

2. Dell XPS 13 (9345)

The XPS series is Dell’s premium line of laptops with a futuristic aesthetic, and this one is no different.

You get an invisible haptic trackpad area, no visible key gaps, and a capacitive function row that doubles as media controls. If you like a clean, flush look, there’s likely no better option than the XPS.

The XPS 13 (9345) is available with both LCD and OLED screen options. The base model features a 1080p LCD panel, while the high-end version comes with a 3K OLED touchscreen.

The laptop utilizes either the Snapdragon X Elite or X Plus platform, and like other Windows on ARM machines, it runs most emulated apps smoothly.

Dell claims the laptop can deliver 25 hours of runtime in a single charge. While that depends on individual usage, it should still last comfortably through a full day of light workloads such as document editing and web browsing.

3. HP EliteBook Ultra G1q

The EliteBook Ultra G1q is HP’s pitch to professionals who care as much about data security as battery life. It’s a Secured-Core PC, with hardware-level protections and HP Wolf Pro Security built in to fend off malware and phishing.

It runs a Snapdragon X Elite chip and comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage, though there aren’t upgrade options or microSD expansion, which feels limiting in 2025.

Still, the machine prioritizes durability. It has MIL-STD 810 testing means it can handle travel bumps, and the privacy shutter and IR camera help reinforce the business focus. No OLED here, but you do get a crisp 2.2K touchscreen and a balanced 16:10 aspect ratio.

4. Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge

Samsung’s entry leans toward a multimedia-friendly, everyday laptop with a familiar design. It has a 15.6-inch Full HD screen (not the sharpest here), a lightweight body made with recycled materials, and the usual Samsung ecosystem ties — including Galaxy AI features and tight phone syncing.

It’s powered by the Snapdragon X chip, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, Wi-Fi 7, and a decent spread of ports, including HDMI and a microSD slot. Battery life should be strong thanks to the 61Wh battery and the efficiency of ARM silicon.

This laptop feels geared toward users who want Windows plus the convenience Samsung offers across devices. If you carry a Galaxy phone, it will feel familiar and connected right away.

5. Microsoft Surface Pro 12-inch

If you want Windows on ARM in a portable 2-in-1 form factor, the Surface Pro 12-inch is the most balanced option right now. It’s a slim tablet first, but with a detachable keyboard and pen (sold separately), it easily becomes a lightweight laptop for work or study.

Microsoft hasn’t changed the Surface formula much here, and that’s not a bad thing. The built-in kickstand still makes it easy to set the device up at any angle, whether you’re typing on a desk or watching a video on a flight tray table.

Inside, the Snapdragon X Plus powers the device alongside 16GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. As a result, performance is strong enough for office work, streaming, and creative apps that support ARM. It also includes Windows Hello face unlock, which is quick and reliable for everyday use.

Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition: A Trip Down Memory Lane

The American video game company first unveiled the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition console earlier this year. Now, the limited edition console is finally available for purchase. Pre-orders had gone live back in July, so the shipments should’ve reached most of the early buyers already. But as of right now, this retro gaming console is available for purchase directly from Amazon.

The Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition console is listed for 169.99 US Dollars, which is slightly higher than the price for the base Atari 2600+. To recall, the Atari 2600+ is a modern retro console that sells for around 129 US Dollars. This model was first released back in 2023 as a smaller replica of the four-switch woodgrain model of the Atari 2600. Although you do get some convenient features like backward-compatible cartridges and a wireless controller.

Looking at the special edition model, the Atari 2600+ gets a bright yellow makeover that includes yellow colored switches, the titular Pac-Man, and the four ghosts etched on the front. Apart from the design, it is practically identical to the regular Atari 2600+ from the inside, so you can buy games for it directly from the company or through Amazon.

Casio lists four new Baby-G watches with a square digital display

Casio’s Baby-G lineup is getting a fresh splash of color and customization, with a new set of square-display digital watches landing in Japan. The four-model collection brings back the retro charm of classic digital Casio watches but adds a twist aimed at younger buyers: the watches can pop off the strap and transform into bag charms. With global listings already live, the series looks set for a wider release soon.

The new quartet falls under the Baby-G BGD-10KH series, available now for pre-order in Japan. The range includes four pastel shades — black (BGD-10KH-2CJR), purple (BGD-10KH-2BJR), pink (BGD-10KH-4JR) and yellow (BGD-10KH-9JR) — each featuring a matte resin case, matching strap, and a heart-shaped accessory holder. Owners can remove the watch from the band and clip it onto bags, pouches, or keychains, keeping the Baby-G’s playful design ethos intact.

Despite the cute aesthetics, these are still proper Baby-G watches. They’re water-resistant to 10 ATM, built to handle daily wear, and rated for three years of battery life. The square digital display follows a classic Casio layout, showing the time, date, and day of week at a glance. An LED backlight helps with visibility in low light.

Functionality remains familiar but solid:

  • World time with 29 time zones
  • 1/100-second stopwatch
  • Five daily alarms
  • 24-hour countdown timer

At ¥9,900 (~$64.30) each, the BGD-10KH lineup sits firmly in the affordable category, making them easy picks for students, casual collectors, or anyone hunting for a simple everyday digital watch with personality. Casio says the Japanese release is planned for November 2025.

All four models are also listed on Casio’s international website — a strong sign that global availability is on the way. With their mix of retro styling, customizable charm-clip design, and practical features, the BGD-10KH series looks like another easy win for Casio’s ever-expanding digital watch catalog.

The next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 allegedly has standard and Pro models

Qualcomm just can’t seem to settle on what to call its flagship processors. After rebranding its top-tier chip earlier this year as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the company might shuffle things around yet again, and somehow, it’s getting even more confusing.

According to a new leak from reliable Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, next year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will reportedly come in two versions: a standard model and a Pro variant.

That means the true successor to the current 8 Elite Gen 5 will technically be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, while the non-Pro version will likely be a slightly watered-down version sharing most of the same specs.

If you trace Qualcomm’s naming history, the confusion starts to make sense (sort of). Back in 2022, the company kicked off its new convention with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which was normally followed by the 8 Gen 2 and 8 Gen 3. But in 2024, Qualcomm decided to rename its flagship line to Snapdragon 8 Elite, only to tweak it again in 2025 to Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

To make things worse, Qualcomm is still planning to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 as a sub-flagship chip later this year. And now, adding a “Pro” to the flagship lineup just makes the whole thing even murkier.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 / Pro specs

As to what the upcoming chips might bring, both will reportedly be manufactured using TSMC’s N2P process and feature Qualcomm’s third-generation custom CPU architecture with a 2+3+3 core setup.

According to the leak, the two versions will differ mainly in GPU capabilities, and only the Pro variant is expected to support LPDDR6 memory.

A separate report claims that the new manufacturing process and faster memory could drive up production costs, which might translate to even pricier flagship phones by 2027.
