Purported Xiaomi CC11’s full specifications emerge at TENAA

In July, an upcoming Xiaomi smartphone with 2107119DC had appeared in the database of China’s TENAA certification with a few specs. Now, the TENAA listing of the device is updated with its entire specifications. It is believed that it may arrive in China with the Xiaomi CC11 moniker. Here is all the information that has appeared through its TENAA listing.

Xiaomi CC11 specifications (Rumored)

As per the TENAA listing of the 2107119DC smartphone, it measures 160.53 x 75.72 x 6.81mm and weighs 157 grams. The company is expected to release the handset in numerous colors like black, white, red, orange, yellow, blue, green, cyan, and purple. The design of the phone remains a mystery since its images are not available in the TENAA listing.

It features a 6.55-inch OLED screen that produces an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. For security, it has an in-display fingerprint sensor. It features a front camera of 20-megapixel. The rear side of the phone seems to feature a triple camera unit headlined by a 64-megapixel.

Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro_
Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro

An unknown processor with 2.4GHz clocking speeds is present under the hood of the alleged CC11 smartphone. Probably, the device may come equipped with the Snapdragon 778G chipset. It will arrive with 6 GB / 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB of native storage.

The 2107119DC is preinstalled with Android 11 OS. It will draw power from a 4,150mAh battery, which is likely to carry support for 33W fast charging. The Mi CC9 series of smartphones were different monikers in global markets. Hence, it is likely that the Xiaomi CC11 may hit the global markets with a different name.

Can’t afford the OnePlus Buds Pro? A “lite” version is on the way!

The OnePlus Buds Pro has received mostly positive reviews since it launched. If you are on the search for a pair of premium earbuds that don’t break the bank, the Buds Pro will most likely be on the list of recommended ones.

OnePlus has put a price tag of $149/€149/₹9,999/¥799, on the earbuds which is a fair price. However, not everyone can afford this. If you want a pair of OnePlus TWS earbuds that don’t cost as much as the Buds Pro, you will have to be patient as a leak has revealed the manufacturer is working on one.

The source of the info is Max Jambor of All About Samsung who is known for his OnePlus-related leaks. According to a tweet posted earlier today, the manufacturer is working on a new pair of headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC). This pair of earphones will be “Some sort of Lite edition of the Buds Pro” he says.

We do not know when the pair of earbuds will be announced but we won’t rule out a possible arrival before the end of the year. We also presume it will sit between the OnePlus Buds and the OnePlus Buds Pro in terms of price, so we may see it priced around $99 where it can compete against the likes of the Pixel Buds A series and the Nothing ear (1).

OnePlus is yet to announce a successor to the OnePlus Buds Z, its cheapest pair of earbuds yet. Will this new pair of earbuds be the successor to the Buds Z? Only time will tell.

Tecno Spark 8 quietly launched in Nigeria bearing an Helio P22 chip

Transsion Holdings subsidiary Tecno Mobile has got a stronghold on the Nigerian market due to its towering reputation of offering decent smartphones at a highly affordable price tag. So it shouldn’t be a surprise if we tell you that the Chinese company has silently unveiled the Spark 8 smartphone in Nigeria.Tecno Spark 8

Tecno Spark 8 is the successor to the Spark 7 that was launched in April this year packing an Helio A25 chipset. The device is a budget smartphone with entry-level specs. The new Spark 8 features an improved Helio P22 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

On the design aspect, the Spark 8 sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 1600 X 720 pixels. This display utilizes a waterdrop notch design which houses the 8-megapixels selfie camera. At the rear, the device features a refreshed design that includes an abnormally wide square module. The module not only houses a dual-camera setup and quad-Led flash, it also holds the rear fingerprint sensor.  The extra space can fit four more camera sensors of the same size, pun intended.Tecno Spark 8

The dual-camera setup consists of a 16-megapixels main sensor and a QVGA lens. The device also avails users the opportunity to expand the storage via a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 11 Go edition. Keeping the lights on is a massive 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging via a micro USB port.

As for the price, the Tecno Spark 8 is reportedly on sale in Nigeria for 55,000 Nigerian Naira (about $130). We have no idea when Tecno will release this model in other markets but we expect it to launch in India soon, going by precedence.

PC maker, Compaq, is being resurrected

Remember Compaq, the former PC giant which used to be IBM’s rival in the 90s, and even one of the top three PC companies before merging with HP in 2002? It is making a comeback. Yes, Compaq is going to be resurrected!

A tweet by an account dubbed Compaq (@CompaqReboot) has teased the return of the popular PC brand which HP discontinued in 2013. The tweet includes the familiar Compaq logo used between 1992 and 2007 and a caption that reads “Coming soon. #Compaq”.

We are not sure if the Compaq brand has been reacquired by HP. This is because an Argentine company called Grupo Newsan acquired the brand license in 2015 before ditching it a few years later. However, the location of the account is in Anaheim, California. There are a lot of tech companies in the city, so there is no saying who now owns the brand. Regardless, we are excited to see the return of the brand to the market.

During the time it was owned by HP, Compaq-branded computers launched under the budget category. It remains to be seen if that will be the case with its return, though it will be facing some stiff competition. Since it left the market, there have been new players including brands such as Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, Redmi, and Realme which are best known as phone manufacturers but have now diversified their product lineup to include computers and related accessories. Older brands such as Acer and ASUS have also significantly stepped up their game.

Redmi MAX TV 86” and Redmi MAX TV 98” get a price cut

The Redmi MAX TV 86” launched in February in China alongside the Redmi K40 series. Barely two months after the TV went on sale, Redmi announced it was raising the price tag by ¥2000. Now it has announced a price cut that brings it back to its original launch price.

Interested buyers will now be able to purchase the Redmi MAX TV 86” for ¥7999 (~$1237) instead of ¥9,999 (~$1546) which it was raised to in April. The manufacturer cited increased demand for components (with a limited supply) for the TV and the fluctuating exchange rates as the reason for raising the price months ago. Now that it has reduced the price, it is safe to assume that the supply for components has improved.

Redmi MAX TV 86 and 98 price cut

The Xiaomi subsidiary also announced a price cut for the 98-inch model. Originally priced at ¥19,999 (~$3093) when it launched in March 2020, the Redmi MAX TV 98” will now sell for ¥17,999 (~$2783).

Both models of the Redmi MAX series have a 4K display although the smaller model has a 120Hz refresh rate while the bigger model keeps it at 60Hz. The 98-inch model has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage while the 86-inch version has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The two TVs have a quad-core processor, dual-band WiFi, three HDMI ports, two USB ports, and an ethernet port.

The new prices will take effect on September 1.

iPhone 13 model with a notch-less screen spotted in an Apple TV+ comedy series

Although Apple is yet to reveal the design of the upcoming iPhone 13 models, several leaked renders have given us an idea of what the rear design looks like but that of the display is still unknown. If you are expecting a notch design, you may be in for a shocker. An Apple device believed to be the iPhone 13 has appeared on a comedy series on Apple TV+ called Ted Lasso played by Jason Sudeikis.iPhone 13

In the recently aired episode six of season two titled “The Signal”, viewers spotted a notch-less iPhone 13 model in two different scenes. The phone did have the custom iPhone UI but the notch was lacking. Also, the rear design was spotted revealing a dual-camera setup similar to that of the vanilla iPhone 13 as spotted in some of the leaks.  iphone 13

Since 2017 when Apple released the iPhone X, the notch has been an integral part of the iPhone design, housing some key components for Face ID and the selfie camera. This year’s model was expected to feature a smaller-sized notch as Apple was believed to have shifted the Face ID components to under the screen or may have opted for Touch ID instead.notch-less iPhone 13

While it looks unlikely that Apple will intentionally leak the iPhone 13 design in such a manner, there is the possibility that this may indeed be the iPhone 13 expected to launch in September. Alternatively, it is possible that Apple employed digital special effects to mask the actual design of the device. This sounds plausible.

Microsoft Surface Go 3 appears on Geekbench packing some impressive specs

A current Geekbench listing of the Microsoft Surface Go 3 has revealed an impressive array of new features that are now primed for an imminent release, going by the listing on the Geekbench platform. The new benchmark scores for the Surface Go 3 however indicated that there could be up to two versions of the Microsoft Surface Go 3, going by the Geekbench details.Microsoft

One of the models is powered by an Intel Pentium Gold with 4GB of RAM, while the other model will be powered by Intel Core i3 which has 8GB of RAM. This follows the pattern of the predecessors of the devices, as the two models sport the Pentium Gold and Intel Core options for their CPUs.

The performance of the two models on the single-core and multi-core scores show that both models pack some decent power in them. The Microsoft Surface Go with a Pentium Gold processor scored 3197 and 5643, respectively, which far eclipsed the performance of the Surface Go 2, hovering around 2, 200 for single-core and 4400 for multi-score.Microsoft Surface Go 3

The Intel Core i3 powered Surface Go model even had a better performance. It clocked 45659 and 7643 for single and multi-core performance, respectively. Much is still left in the realm of speculation concerning the Microsoft Surface Go 3, as we inch closer to its eventual launch. There are other devices lined up for unveiling by Microsoft, and we await the actual rollout of the growing array of unreleased products.

Fossil Gen 6 launches with a $299 starting price, Snapdragon Wear 4100+, and the old Wear OS 2

After announcing the Gen 5 in 2019, Fossil has announced its successor today which is dubbed the Gen 6. The new smartwatch brings key upgrades including a more powerful processor but doesn’t ship with the latest version of Wear OS.

Fossil Gen 6 featured

The Fossil Gen 6’s main upgrade is the new Snapdragon Wear 4100+, one of two chipsets Qualcomm announced last year for smartwatches. The smartwatch is the first to feature this new chip. Fossil says that the new processor brings a performance improvement of up to 30% when compared to the Gen 5. Users should see faster app load times and reduced power consumption.

Another new feature is the addition of a blood oxygen level monitor (SpO2 sensor). The watch also has a 24-hour heart rate that provides continuous heart rate monitoring. Fossil claims the sensor has been improved and it works better in more situations.

The Fossil Gen 6 has Google Assistant built-in, so with the “Ok Google” wake word, you can ask questions, control smart home devices, and set reminders. There is also support for Google Pay, music playback control, and the ability to make and receive calls when connected to a smartphone. Unfortunately, the smartwatch runs the older Wear OS 2 out of the box. If you don’t mind waiting until next year, you will get the Wear OS 3 update.

Fossil Gen 6 Specs

  • 1.28-inch AMOLED screen with a 416 x 416 resolution
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB storage
  • Snapdragon Wear 4100+
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • NFC SE
  • Wi-Fi
  • Off-body IR, Gyroscope
  • PPG heart rate sensor
  • Accelerometer, altimeter, ambient light sensor, compass, gyroscope
  • 3 ATM water resistance

The Fossil Gen 6 has a round dial and comes in a variety of designs. Buyers will be able to choose from 10 different configurations which start at $299 and go up to $319. Fossil also has straps in different colors and designs for the different configurations available. Fossil is already taking pre-orders and it says shipping will happen close to September 27.

Huawei to announce new partnership and products tomorrow in China

Huawei, the China-based technology giant which has been struggling to retain its position in the market, is set to announce something exciting tomorrow. The company has officially shared a new teaser poster hinting at the arrival of new products as well as a new exclusive partner, details about which will be revealed on 31st August.

Huawei Event 31st August

While the company has not yet revealed what these upcoming products are, the teaser poster gives us a glimpse at the part of the product which seems to be a printer or a router, but this is just speculation.

Huawei already has a best-selling lineup of routers and was also leading the market in the year 2019. Earlier this year, the company started selling Huawei Router AX2 Pro in China. If it is indeed planning to launch a new router, then the partnership with another company means it could be a high-end product.

Also, the partner for these new products has not been revealed by the company nor the details have leaked. This means that to know with which company Huawei is partnered up with for its new products and what the partnership entails, we will have to wait for the official announcement tomorrow.

Previously, the company had partnered with Leica for camera technology on its premium smartphone. Since 2016, all the flagship smartphones from the Chinese giant featured Leica’s technology, pushing the boundaries of smartphone photography. However, the partnership ended this year, with the P50 series smartphones becoming the last product made under Huawei and Leica’s partnership.

ZMI 33W Charger 1A1C with iPhone 13 compatibility goes official

Back in June, ZMI GaN Charger 65W 1A1C was released in China. Now two months later, the brand has launched a 33W version of this charger without GaN (Gallium Nitride). The new product is called ZMI 33W Charger 1A1C and it is advertised as compatible with iPhone 13 series.

ZMI 33W Charger 1A1C Featured

ZMI 33W Charger 1A1C Specifications and Features

The new ZMI charger comes in a matte green color option. As the name suggests, it supports up to 33W output and features two ports (USB Type-A, USB Type-C). It also sports a foldable pin.

The power adapter supports Xiaomi’s proprietary charging protocols (22.5W, 33W), USB PD (Power Delivery), and Apple 20W charging. Hence, it can be used to charge Xiaomi group smartphones, the latest iPhones, and other USB PD compatible devices. Additionally, as mentioned in the beginning, ZMI claims that this charger can be also used to fuel the upcoming iPhone 13 series.

It is worth noting that only the USB Type-C port maxes out at 33W, while the USB Type-A port is limited to 27W. Both the ports can be used at the same time and during those sessions, the power adapter is capped at 22.5W.

Lastly, like any other ZMI charger, there’s also a Xiaomi variant of the ZMI 33W Charger 1A1C in white color. But interestingly, that product is sold in Taiwan instead of China.

ZMI 33W Charger 1A1C Price and Availability

The ZMI 33W Charger 1A1C is priced at ¥79 ($12) in China. But for a limited time, it will be available at ¥69 ($11). The charger is scheduled to go on sale from September 1.

As of now, it’s not known whether this product will make its way to more markets other than China and Taiwan.

MIUI 12.5 update is now available for POCO X3 in India

The POCO X3 was one of the best smartphones launched in India in 2020. The handset debuted with MIUI 12 based on Android 10. But unfortunately, it got the Android 11 update only a few weeks back in the country. Now, it has also started receiving the MIUI 12.5 update.

POCO X3 NFC 023

POCO released the POCO X3 in India as an alternative to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in the region. A higher variant of this device called POCO X3 Pro followed later

The latter phone debuted with MIUI 12 based on Android 11. Hence, it got the update to MIUI 12.5 earlier. On the other hand, the former is getting the new MIUI update only now as it was treated with Android 11 at around the same time.

Having said that, the MIUI 12.5 update for the POCO X3 in India arrives with build number V12.5.2.0.RJGINXM. Apart from bringing new features, the new software update also bumps up the security patch level to July 2021.

Like any other OTA system update, this one is also being rolled out in batches. Hence, some users might receive it earlier, while others may have to wait for some time.

The POCO X3 has so far only got access to a single Android update. It is yet to get any major MIUI update. Hence, the phone will likely get more than MIUI 13 and Android 12 in the future.

It is expected to feature a 6.5-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate alongside a 64MP primary camera and a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

The Dimensity 810 chip is a 6nm chip that sits below the 7nm Dimensity 820. It features 8 cores made up of four Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. MediaTek claims that it brings a 20% increase in performance compared to the previous generation. The GPU is the Mali-G57 MC2.

The chipset supports 120Hz FHD+ displays, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 (2-lane) storage, and up to 64MP cameras. The chipset also has high-end AI-camera features such as AI-Bokeh and AI-Color in collaboration with Arcsoft.

Apart from Realme, OPPO is also expected to launch a Dimensity 810-powered phone soon as per a recent leak.

OPPO A16K, OPPO A55 get essential certifications ahead of launch

The OPPO A series is the company’s most affordable smartphone lineup. These devices don’t offer value-for-money features like the similarly priced products from Xiaomi group as well as realme. However, still they are quite popular. According to findings, the next phones in the lineup will be OPPO A16K and OPPO A55.

The upcoming OPPO A16K and OPPO A55 have been certified by three different agencies, namely BIS, NBTC, and EEC. Their certifications suggest that they could be launched in India, Southeast Asia, and India.

Going by the brandings, the OPPO A16K with model number CPH2349 should be the cheaper of the two. On the other hand, the OPPO A55 sporting model number CPH2325 is expected to be the 4G variant of the OPPO A55 5G from earlier this year.

The certifications don’t reveal anything about these handsets, except that they are limited to 4G connectivity. Fortunately, these phones are also listed in the Camera FV-5 database. Hence, we know some of their camera specs.

Being budget smartphones, the forthcoming OPPO A series devices don’t house impressive cameras. The OPPO A16K and the OPPO A55 may come with 2MP and 4MP front-facing cameras respectively. Lastly, the latter handset might feature a 13MP primary sensor.

Apart from the above-mentioned specifics, we know nothing about these soon-to-be-launched OPPO A series smartphones. But we expect to learn more about them before their official announcement in the coming days.
