iQOO 15 to feature a massive 7000mAh battery with 100W wired & 40W wireless charging

iQOO has officially confirmed that its upcoming flagship smartphone, the iQOO 15, will feature a 7000mAh Blue Ocean battery. The company revealed the details ahead of the launch, which is scheduled for October 20 at 7:00 PM in China.

The new Blue Ocean battery uses a single-cell structure instead of the more common dual-cell design. According to iQOO, this layout improves both durability and energy density. The phone supports 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. It also offers compatibility with PPS and PD charging protocols at up to 55W.

iQOO 15 will debut with a new Global Direct Power Supply 2.0 system that allows the phone to stay cool while charging and gaming simultaneously. This system aims to reduce thermal buildup, especially during extended gaming sessions.

The company also shared performance benchmarks. In a 30-minute high-load map test in an open-world mobile game running at 60 fps and ultra-high graphics settings, the phone maintained a 1% low frame rate of 57.8 fps. iQOO attributes this to the Monster Supercore Engine, which maximizes the output of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The chipset works alongside iQOO’s in-house Q3 e-sports chip and supports full-scenario ray tracing.

iQOO 15 gaming specs

Talking about other specs, iQOO 15 features a 6.8-inch flat 2K Samsung Everest OLED display. It includes M14 light-emitting material, supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 6000 nits peak brightness, and offers 3200Hz touch sampling.

The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with a 1/1.5-inch size and a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with a 1/2-inch size, 70mm focal length, and 3X optical zoom.

Additionally, the device features a large 8K VC Ice Dome cooling system, symmetric dual speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and an IP-rated design for water resistance.

Vivo X300 Pro Flexes Its Muscles with Dimensity 9500

Known tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore just shared a screenshot of AnTuTu benchmark results for both the Vivo X300 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. Looking at the test results, the Vivo X300 Pro, powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9500, managed to achieve an impressive score of 3,956,885 points. Is Pixel 10 Pro Fold the Weakest Foldable Yet? “Explodes” in JerryRig Durability Test

In a recent durability test, Google‘s latest flagship foldable failed dramatically. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold quite literally cracked under pressure and even partially “exploded” when it was pushed to its limits. So here’s everything you need to know before considering buying this premium foldable.

Google’s Foldable Fails Big Once Again: Almost Catches Fire This Time

Known YouTuber JerryRigEverything recently shared a new video where they put the Pixel 10 Pro Fold through his extreme durability test. He claimed that Google’s most expensive smartphone might be the weakest foldable phone he has ever tested. Starting with the IP68 rating, Google impressed with the first ever smartphone with a dustproof design. But in the video, Zack noted that the display is dustproof; however, the hinge is “definitely” not, as you can hear a nasty crunch, which likely caused finer particles to make their way inside the folding mechanism.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Explodes
Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold Goes up in Smoke During JerryRigEverything’s Durability test

Things also get worse when we get to the bend test. Despite the structural weakness caused by the antenna lines near the hinge on its predecessors, Google decided to change nothing with its latest Pixel 10 Pro Fold. So unsurprisingly, the device snapped on this antenna line when pushed to its limit. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 received plenty of praise during this test, with an impressively tough design.

All of this leads to the worst part of this video, where the $1,799 Pixel foldable starts smoking after the battery integrity gets breached during the bend test. JRE states that he subjects all of the smartphone to the same level lof torture, but this is the first time in his decade long stress testing career that a smartphone from a major brand has actually blown up.

Inside TECNO’s Worldwide Shot on CAMON Photography Contest, with a $10,000 Grand Prize

Shot on CAMON, a global photography contest is shining a spotlight on real and ordinary life. The Shot on CAMON contest, organized by TECNO in partnership with Amateur Photographer, invited people around the world to capture everyday moments using the TECNO CAMON 40 Series.

A Global Contest with Real Moments

The contest received thousands of entries from different countries. It focuses on real life, not staged scenes. The goal is to preserve moments that are often missed. People were asked to capture the rhythm of daily life, human connection, and movement in their surroundings.

Theme 1: Snap Every Pulse

The first theme is about finding the rhythm of life. It encourages observation, not orchestration. Highlighted moments include a boy lifting water toward the setting sun, a street band playing in a neighborhood, and a pirate ship ride holding a breath in mid-air. The message is that pulse is about seeing something clearly, even if only once.

Theme 2: Snap All Fleeting Bonds

The second theme is about connection. It shows how powerful small, intimate moments can be. Examples include a hand held in another, a parent and child on a swing ride, and a girl looking at her cat. It highlights how intimacy is about recognition, not just physical closeness.

Theme 3: Snap Any Motion

The third theme focuses on movement. It captures energy through still images. Submissions include a cyclist in evening light, reflections shaping a scene, and a leap frozen mid-air. The theme shows how motion can stay alive even in a single frame.

Big Rewards for Winners

The contest ended on September 30, 2025. The total prize pool is $37,000, with a $10,000 grand prize. Selected winners will join a special photo tour in London. Their work will also be shown in global exhibitions, featured in TECNO’s annual photo book, and displayed on TECNO’s official platforms.

Global Creative Stage

“Everyone has the potential to create, to view the world in new ways, and to share that vision,” said Laury Bai, TECNO CMO. The Shot on CAMON contest seeks to showcase emerging creative voices on a global stage. While the winners are yet to be announced, this first wave of outstanding entries already offers a glimpse of the talent, with the award-winning works set to be revealed soon.

Honor GT2 expected to pack Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and massive 9,000mAh battery

A new leak out of China suggests Honor is working on a phone that could set a new benchmark for battery endurance. The rumored device, expected to be part of the upcoming Honor GT2 series, might pack a staggering 9,000mAh battery, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.

Honor GT
Honor GT

The leak comes from tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, who described it as a “Snapdragon 8 flagship performance phone” with an unusually large battery. While the post didn’t mention the exact chipset, the timing lines up with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 launch — the follow-up to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 found in the original Honor GT. That makes it likely this leak points to the GT2, which is expected to focus on raw performance. The phone was previously rumored to pack an 8,800mAh battery.

The jump from the GT’s 7,200mAh to roughly 9,000mAh hints at an improved silicon-carbon battery tech, which allows for greater energy density without ballooning the size. Charging speeds are expected to hit 100W, keeping refills surprisingly quick for such capacity. The rest of the rumored specs paint a familiar flagship picture: up to 24GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, a 1.5K OLED display, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

As for launch timing, insiders suggest a late-2025 debut in China, likely between November and December. There’s still no word on whether the GT2 line will see an international release.

Big batteries aren’t new territory for Chinese brands — companies like Vivo, OnePlus, and Xiaomi have successfully normalized 7,000mAh in 2025 — but Honor’s rumored 9,000mAh milestone would push things further. If true, it could redefine what “all-day battery life” means for power users.

Who Should Buy Meta’s Ray-Ban AI Display Smart Glasses?

Following a big hype and surprising success of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses, the company went on to unveil a new smart wearable. During the Connect 2025 event, the Meta Ray-Ban AI Display Smart Glasses were unveiled, bringing a series of big new features like built-in display and gesture controls via the new Neural Band. But owing to its premium price tag and niche features, it isn’t suited for everyone. So here’s the audience Meta is targeting with these smart glasses.

Meta Ray-Ban AI Display Smart Glasses

The Early Adopter & Tech Enthusiast

For many first generation or new categories of gadgets, tech giants are often targeting enthusiasts who are willing to be early adopters. So if you’re someone who loves being first in line for emerging hardware, the Ray-Ban Display offers a tangible window into “computing on your face.”

Its in-lens 600×600 display, Neural Band gesture interface, and AI overlay features make it more than just a novelty. At the moment, it is a developer’s testbed and an easy conversation piece. There are some trade-offs to its functionality, but tech enthusiasts are usually more excited to try out the latest products.

Creators & Visual Storytellers

Even with the original Meta Ray-Ban Glasses, many creators and other creative professionals took advantage of the camera sensors for seamless video recording. So once again, photographers, video creators, and journalists will appreciate how the functionality is improved with the built-in display that can now act as a viewfinder.

Rather than tapping and guessing, you can preview your framing, see post-shots instantly, and even zoom or pan via gesture controls when paired with the Neural Band. This feedback loop tightens the creation process and improves the overall experience.

The Working Professionals

For those whose work demands immediate access to bite-sized information, like field technicians, presenters, content creators, or sales professionals, the glasses offer glanceable data without the disruption of pulling out a phone. The battery life still leaves much to be desired, but the visual overlays of directions, message previews, live captions, and context cues while you work hands-free are undoubtedly useful in many fields.

Frequent Commuters & Navigation Users

Another big area Meta focused on with the Ray-Ban AI Display Glasses was with commute. If you often walk, cycle, or use public transit and want hands-free directions, insights, or translation while keeping your eyes on the path ahead, these glasses make sense. Apart from your usual commutes, the gadget can be helpful when traveling to a new city or even during international trips. The transition lenses also adapt between indoor and outdoor environments, making them practical for mixed settings.

Users Who Value Privacy & Discreet Displays

Unlike many AR glasses that leak light or produce “rainbow artifacts” visible to others, the Meta Ray-Ban Display’s waveguide glass is designed with a reflective geometry that directs light toward the wearer only. That means onlookers are less likely to see what’s appearing in your lens. For users in meetings, public transit, or shared spaces, this privacy feature is a significant plus.

Who Might Be Better Off Waiting?

Battery life remains a limitation, and the glasses only manage to deliver around six hours of operations even with mixed use per charge. So heavy users that need all day battery might wish to steer clear of this one. Owing to its $799 price tag, it is basically as expensive as a flagship smartphone like Apple’s iPhone. Meaning, cost-sensitive buyers would also need to wait till the technology becomes more affordable.

Samsung halts One UI 8 rollout for Galaxy S22 series

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series was all set to enjoy a fresh coat of software polish with the One UI 8 update, based on Android 16. But just days after the rollout began, the company has quietly hit pause. The update has been pulled in regions like Europe and India, leaving users wondering what went wrong this time.

Samsung Galaxy S22 5G
Samsung Galaxy S22

One UI 8 started rolling out last week for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra, bringing a refined interface, updated multitasking features, tweaks to the camera and reminder apps, smoother notifications, and the latest security patch. It also marked what’s expected to be the last major Android upgrade for the 2022 flagship lineup.

However, users on X (formerly Twitter) noticed that the update had suddenly disappeared from Samsung’s servers. A post by @Koram_Akhilesh pointed out the missing firmware, suggesting that Samsung may have pulled it after discovering a stability issue. A few who managed to install it early have reported faster battery drain, though nothing too severe. Still, it’s enough to justify a pause.

If you were quick enough to update, there’s no need to panic — your device should continue working normally, aside from possibly reduced battery life. For everyone else, it’s probably best to wait. Samsung will resume the halted rollout once bugs are patched.

The company hasn’t issued an official statement yet, but its track record suggests a fixed build will be back soon. When it returns, expect improved performance and stability over the initial build.
