In late April, vivo debuted the vivo V21 series in Malaysia. The lineup consists of three models, namely vivo V21, vivo V21 5G, and vivo V21e. Now, almost a month later, the 5G variant of vivo V21e appears on the internet.
vivo V21e
The vivo V21 series is the successor to the vivo V20 series from 2020. The predecessor lineup includes a total of four devices. Looks like the company is aiming to hit that number with the upcoming vivo V21e 5G.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the vivo V21e 5G has been certified by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) with model number V2055. Hence, the smartphone could launch in India.
Additionally, this handset has been also benchmarked by Geekbench. According to the listing, the phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset coupled with 8GB RAM. As for software, it will run Android 11.
For those unaware, the regular vivo V21e features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G. Therefore, the performance of the two smartphones should be identical.
Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the vivo V21e 5G. It is a mystery whether it will have the same set of specifications as the vanilla vivo V21e.
Anyway, we expect to learn more about it before its official launch in the coming days.
After a long walk in the rumor mill, Transsion Holdings subsidiary Infinix has gone official with the Infinix Hot 10S. The device is the brand’s latest mid-range model under the prolific Hot series and it will be available in India from May 27.
The Infinix Hot 10S utilizes a waterdrop notch design on top of the screen which is a 6.82-inch display with an HD+ resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels. The display features a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and has a 90.6% screen-to-body ratio. The display comes with support for a 90Hz refresh rate, 440 nits brightness, and 180Hz touch sampling rate.
Under the hood, the Hot 10S is fired up by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with up to 4GB/ 6GB LPDDR4X RAM. The phone is available in a sole 64GB storage option with support for storage expansion up to 256GB via microSD.
For optics, the device crams a triple camera setup at the rear comprising a 48-megapixel main shooter with f/1.79 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and an AI lens. There is also a Quad-LED flash for clearer captures. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. The back panel has a diamond-patterned design and equally packs a fingerprint sensor.
The Infinix Hot 10S runs on Android 11-based XOS 7.6 and keeping the lights on is a mammoth 6,000mAh battery. The phone comes with support for 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/GLONASS, and Beidou. There is equally a 3.5mm jack onboard as well as FM radio.
In terms of the price, the Infinix Hot 10S 4GB+64GB version is priced at Rs 9999 (~$137) while the 6GB+64GB version will retail for Rs 10,999 (~$150). The phone comes in Morandi Green, 7° Purple, Heart of Ocean, and 95° Black colors. It will go on sale in India from May 27 12 noon via Flipkart. Buyers will receive an Rs. 500 discount across the board during the first sales.
Chinese smartphone maker vivo is known for its vivo X series globally. However, the company’s bestsellers are part of the vivo Y series. The firm is known for releasing multiple models in this lineup every now and then. According to new findings, the company’s next Y series handset will be called vivo Y53s.
Vivo Y52s
As per a report by MySmartPrice, the forthcoming vivo Y53s has been certified by CQC and BIS. Additionally, the device has been also listed on Google Play Console. These online listings of the smartphone have revealed some of its specifications.
First and foremost, the vivo Y53s bears the model number V2058. Secondly, this phone has been certified by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). Therefore, it could launch in India.
Then, the handset’s CQC certification says that it will support 33W fast charging. This is interesting as most of the vivo Y series devices only support 18W fast charging.
Lastly, according to Google Play Console, the vivo Y53s will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset paired with 8GB RAM. The amount of RAM is again unusual for a vivo Y series phone. Last but not least, the smartphone will sport an FHD+ display with 440 DPI and will run Android 11.
We expect to learn more about the vivo Y53s before the device’s official launch in the coming days.
ByteDance, the makers of TikTok, is having a major shake in its leadership. Its CEO, Zhang Yiming, has announced that he will be stepping down from his role.
The news which was first reported by Reuters and confirmed by the company said Zhang will be leaving his position for a “key strategy” position at the end of the year. He will hand over to Liang Rubo, his long-time friend who is the current head of Human Resources and who he describes as “an invaluable partner” with “strengths in management, organization, and social engagement”.
Source: Reuters
Zhang Yiming revealed that he lacked some of the skills that make an ideal manager and that he is better at analyzing organizational and market principles rather than actually managing people”.
Zhang will work with Liang for the next six months for a smooth transition. The CEO currently owns about 20% to 30% of the company which was founded in 2012 and 50% of voting rights. It is not known if he will give up his voting rights.
There are speculations that the decision might be to take the spotlight away from him when the company eventually has its IPO which was supposed to happen this year but was suspended last month. The IPO is expected to result in a significant increase in his wealth which may put him on Beijing’s radar.

Smart TVs, the new favorite product segment of smart hardware manufacturers, are reshaping our imagination of home entertainment. If you’re satisfied with your old TV in your living room and haven’t noticed the evolution of smart TV over the years, this review probably will ignite your interest in it.
Today, we are going to look deeper into one of the hottest Smart TV series in the market, the HUAWEI Vision S smart TV. In this review, we’ll show you how the latest Huawei TV can upgrade your home entertainment experience.
The model we have today is the HUAWEI Vision S65, which comes with an attractive visual presentation and great distributed capabilities for interaction with phones, along with a competitive price. The Vision S series is the first Huawei Smart TV series for the international market, so it is probably the best Huawei Smart TV you can buy at the moment.
HUAWEI Vision S65 Smart TV Review: Design
Let’s look at its design. At first glance, the top camera immediately grabbed our attention. This 13MP camera is designed with a magnetic link and supports up and down rotation. Users can adjust the camera angle for the best shooting position. And thanks to the convenient magnetic design, the camera is removable at any time when it’s not in use, so there is no fear of privacy leaks. In addition to normal photo taking and video filming, the camera also can make 1080P video calls with other devices.
The bezel is made of one-piece plastic without break points. And the backside is made of metal, which we guess is for a better thermal design.
Huawei Smart Screen S65 features a 4K 120Hz LCD screen. This screen achieves a super-high screen-to-body ratio of 94%. The front side is visually stunning. In addition, in order to weaken the presence of other components, so that users can focus on the screen itself, the base is designed into two visually lightweight bars. Of course, you can also choose to wall-mount it and make it a part of your wall decor.
HUAWEI Vision S65 Smart TV Review: Display
Coming back to the display, it supports a DCI-P3 Gamut of up to 92%, which already covers wider colors than most TV products in its price range. In addition, the Vision S also provides multi-color modes. And then we watched various content including TV Shows, movies and sports. The Auto Mode can adapt to different content pretty well, which is quite convenient if you don’t want to change the color mode from time to time.
However, the Vision S didn’t support HDR colors, so when displaying HDR contents, the dynamic range could be a bit
The 120Hz refresh rate really looks stunning. But the viewing experience wouldn’t have been so delightful when watching low-framerate content if not for the supporting Smart MEMC algorithm. Combined with HUAWEI’s MEMC algorithm, it can dynamically insert frames up to 120fps and take full advantage of the 120Hz screen.
And the fact is that most video content that we can watch right now generally are made with relatively low framerates of 24fps or 30fps. But unlike most TV products featuring 60Hz refresh-rate, the Vision S series’ 120Hz refresh rate is an integer multiple of both 30 and 24, which guarantees insertion of consistent frames between every 2 frames. As a result, the Vision S is able to better solve the problems of lag, ghosting, and trailing that exist on 60Hz screens, thereby making the picture smoother and more stable with the double frame rates.
During our experience, the MEMC technique of the Vision S worked well with most content. But we have to remind you that the MEMC technology is not perfect for all the TV products so far. The Vision S is no exception. When it meets complicated or rapidly changing clips, the MEMC may not perfectly work. And after we tested, under the Auto Mode or the Customized mode with Middle level of dynamic picture compensation, the MEMC performed much better to adapt to any content with good picture quality, and smooth motion as well.
HUAWEI Vision S65 Smart TV Review: Connectivity Ports
As for its wired connection, there are 3 HDMI 2.0 ports, one AV-in, a SPDIF Audio out and a USB-3 for file transfer or external storage. Although the screen of the TV supports up to 4K resolution and 120Hz, there is no way to play 4K 120Hz games with the Vision S due to the lack of HDMI 2.1 ports.
So, for wired projection with non-Huawei-devices, such as Gaming consoles and PCs, although the Vision S features a 4k 120Hz screen, so far it can only support up to 4K resolution with 30fps refresh rate or 1080P resolution with 60fps, which is quite a waste of such a great display.
But thanks to the MEMC feature, the gaming experience still got improved with the dynamic compensation. In actual gaming, the huge display made the whole experience much more immersive than just playing games on a PC display, and it didn’t lose much of the smoothness either.
HUAWEI Vision S65 Smart TV Review: Speakers
Another surprise of the vision S is the decent AI speaker mode powered by the built-in 4 speakers. The Vision S uses a 4 x 10W-speaker solution, including two full-range speakers and another two high-range speakers. Because of the use of three-band playback, the Vision S can deliver an extremely wide frequency response range, enabling perfect reproduction of different frequencies in the audio signal.
HUAWEI Vision S65 Smart TV Review: HarmonyOS
When it comes to the Vision series, it’s inevitable to talk about the Harmony OS. Huawei Vision series is one of the first hardware to be built on Harmony OS, from which we can also get a glimpse of the future that will be built under the HUAWEI Smart home project. As the essential feature of HUAWEI’s multi-hardware collaborative operation, the Harmony OS pursues the integration and unification of multiple devices. For example, the Vision S can be an important extension of your phone, and similarly, your phone can be used as an accessory to the Vision TV. You can turn the phone not just into a remote control for the Vision TV, but it can also be a low-latency projection signal of it, and can even be the gamepad when you play games on the Vision TV. It can call on the phone’s various sensors to perform operations that are not possible with other gamepads, such as the phone’s gyroscope and gravity sensor. And of course, all these features are only available on Huawei’s phones right now.
Besides, for convenient projection, the Vision S supports the OneHop projection under 60fps high framerate. Using the OneHop, users can have their Huawei phone’s screen instantly mirrored to the TV through a single contact between the phone and the remote control. Under mirrored projection, the status bar, notifications and message or call alerts would be blocked and will not be displayed on the TV screen, which protects users’ privacy.
And it does not just simply mirror your phone but the TV also can project the phone under desktop mode and turn it into a PC. And then the phone will become a touchpad to control the PC.
Besides, the excellent interaction with Huawei devices also includes fast file, video and image transfer and share.
Another important addition we found is that Huawei has customized different content including online video, music and Apps according to different regions. If you officially purchase the TV in your region, the TV system will show the customized popular local content, along with popular international content as well.
HUAWEI Vision S65 Smart TV Review: Verdict
From the Vision S, it’s quite surprising that Huawei has the real determination to be a global player in the smart connected TV segment, and more importantly, it’s done pretty well: Such as the 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate with MEMC dynamic compensation; the removable camera, the multi-device collaboration based on the fluent Harmony OS and the customized contents for various regions. Some of these features are rare even in most competing products in the same price range. And if you’re a Huawei phone user, the Vision series could be the best option for you.
Currently, Huawei is working on updating its phone operating system to the Harmony OS. And when the update comes, we believe that the experience on the Vision TV will definitely be better than the present.
Lately, Samsung has been rebranding a number of smartphones. These rebadged handsets are part of the company’s budget lineup – Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F. This strategy seems to be yielding results, and therefore, we continue to see such devices. According to a new report, the South Korean tech giant is working on a handset called Galaxy M52 5G, which could be a rebranded version of the recently launched Galaxy F52 5G.
Samsung Galaxy F52 5G
Earlier today, Samsung launched the Galaxy F52 5G in China as the company’s first Galaxy F series smartphone in the country. This device shares some of its specs with the Galaxy A52 5G but it is not the same device as Galaxy A42 5G and Galaxy M42 5G.
As per a new report by GalaxyClub, the clone of Galaxy F52 5G could go official as Galaxy M52 5G. This upcoming Galaxy M series will be the successor to last year’s Galaxy M51.
The publication speculates that the Galaxy M52 5G could be the unreleased SM-M425F. For those unaware, this phone is a variant of the Galaxy M42 with a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW3 primary camera sensor.
Since the Galaxy F52 5G has an identical name and a 64MP camera, there’s a chance that it could launch as Galaxy M52 5G in some markets. But the problem is that the exact camera sensor of the new device is not known since Samsung has not mentioned it on its website.
Another issue is that the model number of the Galaxy F52 5G is SM-E5260, which is completely different from SM-M425F. So the Galaxy M52 5G could be a standalone smartphone.
Whatever the Samsung Galaxy M52 5G turns out to be, we expect to learn more about it before its official launch in the coming days.
Samsung has officially unveiled a new Galaxy F-series model in China. The model dubbed Samsung Galaxy F52 5G comes just a couple of months after the Galaxy F62 was introduced in February.
The Galaxy F52 5G is yet another attempt by Samsung to bring affordable premium 5G phones and what better market to launch it than China where 5G connectivity is already widespread.
In terms of the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy F52 5G sports a 6.6-inch TFT LCD display with a FullHD+ resolution of 2408x1080p. The display features a punch-hole design located at the top right corner of the screen. The hole punch houses a huge 16-megapixel selfie sensor. The design also affords the device a higher screen-to-body ratio and brings an immersive viewing experience to users. The screen also comes with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Galaxy F52 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor paired with 8GB of RAM. The device also comes with 128GB internal storage which is expandable. There is a microSD slot onboard which will allow for expansion of the storage by up to a staggering 1TB.
On the camera aspect, the F52 5G packs a Quad-camera setup at the rear. The sensors are stacked in a vertical module on the top right corner of the back panel. The sensors include a 64MP primary camera teaming up with an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro camera.
At the side of the screen are the volume rockers and power button. The fingerprint scanner is mounted underneath the power button. For interface, the F52 5G runs on Android 11-based One UI 3.1 which brings onboard several third-party apps that can’t be uninstalled.
The premium smartphone is fired up by a 4500mh battery that can guarantee a long battery life. The phone also features a USB-C port for charging and data transfer. There is support for 25W fast charging onboard the smartphone. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for the price, the Galaxy F52 5G carries a decent 1,999 yuan (~$310) price tag. The phone is available in two color options – Dusky Black and Magic White and is already open for pre-orders in China. There is no word yet as to when it will be available in other markets.

Apple has just showcased a new feature for its Apple Watch. This new feature uses wrist gesture technology that has been patented by the company and will seek to assist specially abled users.
The Cupertino based giant previewed the new AssistiveTouch technology earlier today (20th May 2021), which is designed for users with mobility, vision, hearing, and even cognitive disabilities. Furthermore, the new feature from the iPhone maker is for its popular smartwatch platform and is in line with its philosophy that accessibility is a human right. With this feature, it aims to include more people to benefit from its products.
According to the company, the feature will be rolled out via software updates across all of Apple’s operating systems and will allow people with limb differences to navigate the Apple Watch. Through AssistiveTouch, the brand aims to help users with limited mobility and upper body limb differences to enjoy the benefits of its wearable product without requiring to touch the display or control.
This system will use the device’s built in motion sensors, which include the gyroscope and accelerometer along with the optical heart rate sensor and machine learning as well. With the update, the smartwatch will now be able to detect subtle differences in muscle movement and tendon activity. In simpler terms, users’ movements would let differently abled people to navigate a cursor on the display through a series of hand gestures like a pinch of a clench.
IFA Berlin is an annual trade show for consumer electronics held in Germany. This year, the organizers planned to have an in-person event, but that will no longer be happening as the event has now been canceled.
The info was shared by the official IFA Berlin Twitter account yesterday along with a link to a full statement. The organizers cite the occurrence of new strains of the virus to uncertainties about the rollout speed of vaccination programs across the globe. These reasons have led to uncertainties by not only companies that plan to attend but also the media and visitors.
The organizers have also revealed that part of the exhibition area has been converted into a vaccination center and an emergency hospital and both will be required for longer than originally planned.
“There simply are now too many uncertainties. Therefore, right now it has become near impossible for anyone to responsibly plan their participation in any trade show.” – Kai Hillebrandt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of gfu Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH
Martin Ecknig, the CEO of Messe Berlin added that the roll-out of vaccination programs and the resumption of international travel didn’t happen at the pace they envisioned, thus they had to make the difficult decision of canceling the event. However, plans are already in motion as well as work with trade partners and the media to get ready for IFA 2022 “which will be held as a full-scale live event at the Berlin exhibition grounds”. The event is scheduled to hold from September 2 to September 6.
Earlier this week, Google announced a new version of Wear OS in collaboration with Samsung and Fitbit. The South Korean tech giant even confirmed that the next-gen Galaxy Watches will run the new operating system. However, we have been hearing about these wearables even before the Google I/O 2021. Now, more specs of one of these watches leak.

Popular tipster Ice Universe has revealed some features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Active4 on Twitter. According to him, this wearable will be powered by a 5nm chipset and will sport a 2D glass instead of 2.5D.
Further, the leakster says that the smartwatch will feature narrow bezels and an ‘excellent frame structure’ (titanium alloy). Additionally, other popular leakers replied to this tweet with further more information.
As per Chun, the Galaxy Watch Acive4 will be backed by a larger battery. On the other hand, Roland Quandt tips two variants – aluminum alloy and stainless steel. Lastly, according to Yogesh, the new smartwatch will have the same design as the Galaxy Watch Active2 with narrow bezels due to improved display drivers.
According to previous reports, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active will be available in two sizes (40mm, 42mm). Last but not least, it is expected to arrive in Bluetooth as well as cellular variants and will lack support for non-invasive blood glucose (sugar) level monitoring.
Earlier today (20th May 2021), the Founder and CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau announced that Li Kaixin will be officially joining the company. The newly appointed official is also a former executive of Huawei and 360 Mobile.
In an online post on his official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website, the Founder stated that he has known Li Kaixin to have successfully led Huawei in China and even helped the brand achieved tens of millions of sales. Furthermore, Pete Lau also called the newly appointed official an industry “veteran”, especially in terms of smartphone sales. Pete also expressed that Li will enable him to focus more on making new products since he is confident that he could leave the sales of smartphones in his capable hands.
Li Kaixin has now officially been appointed as the Vice President of OnePlus. For those unaware, Li was also the Vice President of Huawei and Honor’s Sales and even the Executive Vice President of 360 Mobile as well. Through his work, he had also managed to be promoted to the position of President of 360 Mobile back in 2016.
Interestingly, it has been rumored that Li Kaixin had actually been appointed as the Vice President of OnePlus back in March. However, it was also reported that he was already working with the Chinese tech giant since a year ago and that the company had kept refrained from making the decision official. But now, we have official confirmation that he has been hired by the brand.

A top regulator within the aviation agency of Europe has stated that the electric flying taxis might be cleared for take off by the year 2025 or even as early as 2024.
According to a Bloombergreport, the news arrives from Patrick Ky, executive director of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. The official made the statement in an online event earlier this week. Patrick Ky further added that autonomous drones will take at least five years more, while larger aircraft are expected to follow soon after. Furthermore, EASA has just started to work with companies on how to address unmanned flights. As per the regulator, the agency is also working closely with the US Federal Aviation Administration and other international regulators as well.
Patrick Ky stated that it’s easier to start with air taxi based vehicles “because we’re looking at smaller scale aircraft. We’ve not gone too far because it requires a lot of thinking on how you want to deal with the autonomy concepts.” The regulator made the statement in regards to autonomous passenger transport in Europe. Similarly, EASA has even published results of a survey on urban air mobility that had over 4,000 respondents from the region across six different European cities.
This survey found that 83 percent of the citizens had a positive initial attitude, with highlighting uses being emergency and medical transportation getting a boost with the aerial mode of travel. Although, vehicles that traverse over crowded cities would likely be subject to strict safety standards and regulators will likely face issues regarding noise.

Lu Weibing, the Xiaomi President and Redmi General Manager, said that the global chip shortage that has affected various industries across the globe could optimistically end by the first half of next year.
As per the senior executive post on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, the major shortage of semiconductors is not a short term issue. He further added that it is impossible for the supply shortage for chips to be resolved within this year. Lu Weibing believes that even if one is being optimistic, the shortage will only ease up within the first half of 2021. For those unaware, the world is currently facing a major supply issue of semiconductors that has affected various industries.
This has impacted shipments of automobiles from car makers as they need chips for their cars, while even the smartphone and home appliance vendors are facing issues with chip supply for their electronic products. The official from the Chinese tech giant is also set to discuss the global semiconductor shortage in a public speech later this month on 26th May 2021.
Lu Weibing also believes that the chip shortage is also indicative of the growth in demand for 5G processors in smartphones, along with the growing need for high performance computing and even surge in popularity of smart cars and other smart internet of thing products as well. Meaning, supply has to catch up with the explosive demand that foundries are seeing all across the world for different industries.
