But just within a month of its launch, the tech giant started offering the device on a 200 US Dollar discount. HONOR 50 series may support up to 100W fast charging

The HONOR 50 series is expected to launch soon. Ahead of its release, the features of these phones have begun to pop on the internet. Their design as well as some specs leaked in the past few days. Now, these handsets have started receiving essential certifications as well.

HONOR 50 Series Render Featured 01
HONOR 50 Series

According to popular leakster Digital Chat Station, two HONOR 5G smartphones have been certified by China’s 3C. As per the listings, these phones bear the model numbers NTH-AN00 and NRA-AN00 respectively.

Interestingly, the tipster does not call these devices the HONOR 50 series. But for some reason, other publications believe them to be HONOR 50 and HONOR 50 Pro respectively.

Anyway, the listings say that NTH-AN00 (possible HONOR 50) will ship with an HW-110600C00 66W charger. This is the same power adapter that comes bundled with the HONOR V40 series. In other words, the HONOR 50 will support 66W fast charging.

HONOR 50 Pro NTH-AN00 NRA-AN00 3C Certification

On the other hand, NRA-AN00 (possible HONOR 50 Pro) will come with an all-new HN-200500C00 100W charger. Hence, the HONOR 50 Pro could be the first smartphone from the brand to support 100W fast charging.

As per another tipster, the 100W charging on the HONOR 50 Pro could be based on Qualcomm Quick Charge 5. However, there’s no concrete proof for this claim.

That said, according to previous reports, the HONOR 50 series will sport two circular modules for rear cameras. The vanilla HONOR 50 is expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC, whereas the HONOR 50 Pro is said to powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

Last but not least, some alleged specs of mysterious HONOR 50 Pro+ have leaked too.

US bill seeking to ban TikTok on government devices scales through the first hurdle

Donald Trump isn’t the president of the United States but TikTok’s battles are far from over. The US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs has unanimously passed a bill that would restrict federal workers from downloading Chinese social networking and video-sharing app TikTok into US government devices.TikTok The bill is sponsored by Senator Josh Hawley, who released a press statement on Wednesday confirming the development. A search through the US Senate and Congress records shows that this is not the first time a bill of this nature would scale through the committee level.

There are rising concerns in the US that TikTok is growing rapidly in its popularity, especially among teens, amidst accusations that ByteDance, the app’s owner, is connected with the Chinese government. TikTok continues to insist that it has no relationship whatsoever with Beijing.

Senator Hawley insists TikTok is an immediate security threat to the US. He is also calling out his colleagues across the partisan divide to unify to give the bill full bipartisan support as the Senate continues to address Beijing’s covert data collection campaign using apps like TikTok.

In another development, the Italian data protection regulator has asked TikTok to strengthen measures to prevent underage users from accessing the app after TikTok removed up to half a million users under age 13 within the past three months. This followed closer regulatory scrutiny of the app in the aftermath of the death of a 10-year old girl who participated in a breath-holding challenge on the platform.

The regulatory body has directed the social networking platform to cancel any accounts linked to users under 13 years within 48 hours and prevent access to underage users. TikTok has also been mandated to launch communication initiatives that would clearly specify that the app is not open to children under the age of 13.
