OPPO Enco Air and new OPPO Band will launch alongside OPPO K9 5G on May 6

Earlier today, OPPO officially announced to launch OPPO K9 5G in China on May 6. A few hours later, the smartphone’s listing popped up on JD revealing most of its specifications as well as price. Now, a blogger reveals that the company will be releasing two more products at this launch event.

A blogger on Weibo says that OPPO will be also unveiling the OPPO Enco Air truly wireless earphones and a new OPPO Band at the OPPO K9 5G launch event on May 6 in China. The said person also shared outline sketches of these two upcoming products.

We also looked up these accessories on JD. Fortunately, we found their listings. However, unlike the listing of OPPO K9 5G, the listings for OPPO Enco Air and the new OPPO Band do not have any info except for the launch date, which is May 6.

According to ITHome, the OPPO Enco Air will feature Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and will be available in two colors (Black, White). However, we do not have any proof of this claim.

On the other hand, we do not have any info on the new OPPO Band. The sketch shared by the blogger resembles that of OPPO Band Fashion. But just like last year, there could be a standard version as well.

Anyway, we expect to learn more about these products before their official launch next month.

Discord reportedly ends acquisition talks with Microsoft

Discord has just halted talks to sell itself to potential buyers, one of which included Microsoft. As per sources close to the matter, the VoIP based audio chat startup has resumed interest in a potential initial public offering.

We had previously reported on Microsoft being in talks with the startup for a potential acquisition worth over 10 billion US Dollars. Now, these talks have apparently ended without a deal, as per a WallStreetJournal report. Although, the sources also added that the deal could be rekindled again in the future. For those unaware, the American tech giant has been seeking acquisitions that would help it reach more customers recently. Just a year ago, the company was even considering purchasing the short video sharing app, TikTok, in the US, amid growing frictions between US and China.

The people familiar with the matter also added that Discord held interest from at least three companies regarding a deal. Although, the platform is performing well, so it seems that they prefer to stay independent as of right now. The startup operates from San Francisco and offers a free online VoIP audio chat and text based platform to users. This app was initially centered around gamers, but has since grown to accommodate various other users as well.

During the pandemic, the startup saw a massive growth on the platform as many users even used it to connect with their friends and family amid the lockdown. As per official notes, Discord stated that it has doubled its monthly user base last year, reaching 140 million daily users. In terms of revenue, the startup generated around 130 million US Dollars in revenue last year, which is a significant jump from 45 million US Dollars from back in 2019.

As scheduled, POCO has officially launched the POCO M2 Reloaded in India. The newly released smartphone is nothing but the good old POCO M2 with lower RAM and cheaper pricing. Going by the announcement posts on Twitter, the brand is re-releasing the handset to take a dig at other companies that still keep on launching phones with an HD+ display in the sub-₹15,000 ($199) price segment.

POCO M2 Reloaded Specifications and Features

The newly launched POCO M2 Reloaded differs from the original merely on the basis of two factors. The new model only comes in a single 4GB + 64GB storage configuration and two colors (Pitch Black, Slate Blue) instead of two storage variants (6GB + 6GB, 6GB + 128GB) and three colors (Brick Red). Apart from these two differences, the POCO M2 Reloaded is basically a POCO M2 inside out.

Hence, the POCO M2 Reloaded flaunts a 6.53-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD panel with 394 PPI, 1500:1 contrast ratio, 70% NTSC color gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and a dewdrop notch. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC coupled with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC storage.

Further, the handset houses a quad-camera setup on the back consisting of a 13MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, a 5MP macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor. Whereas, on the front, it sports an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

On the connectivity front, the phone supports dual-SIM, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GNSS (GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou). It also has all the essential sensors and ports like a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, infrared sensor, MicroSD card slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port.

Last but not least, the POCO M2 Reloaded runs MIUI 12 based on Android 10 backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It measures 163.3 x 77.8 x 9.1mm in dimensions and weighs 198g.

The POCO M2 Reloaded is priced at ₹9,499 ($126) in India. It will be sold exclusively on Flipkart like other POCO products. The first sale of the smartphone is scheduled for 3 PM today.

Global chip shortage to last well into 2022 as industry struggles with multiple obstacles

The world is currently suffering from a major shortage of semiconductors at the moment. This has impacted various industries across the globe with the industry struggling due to various complex obstacles, which would likely cause the shortage to further last into 2022.

According to an SCMP report, the chip shortage is worsened by the multiple factors that are at play right now. The report further added that this would likely lead the shortage to last through this year and well into 2022 as well. For those unaware, the shortage first affected the automotive industry since the chips controlled various functions like brakes, doors, and windscreen wipers, and more. And now, the issue is also affecting consumer electronic products like smartphones, PC market, and even home appliances like washing machines and microwaves as well.

Furthermore, two of the major hurdles the situation faces at the moment includes the coronavirus pandemic as well as the ongoing US-China trade disputes that has affected supply chains. While the price rise of chips is a result of the shortage that is related mostly to the semiconductor sector for now, analysts believe that some low margin consumer products might soon also see a hike in price in the near future due to persisting capacity crunch.

Notably, many analysts also believe that the the first step on the path to a chip shortage was actually due to the escalation of the United States’ growing friction with China. This started with the previous President Donald Trump, with the current President Joe Biden also attempting to bring semiconductor production within the US. So, it would seem like that it will take a while before the situation becomes normal again.

A Samsung phone with model number SM-E5260 was recently spotted at China’s 3C certification platform and Bluetooth SIG authority. The latter revealed that the device will be debuting in the market as the Galaxy F52 5G. Now, the same phone has bagged approval from the TENAA authority of the country, through which its images and specifications have been revealed.

The Samsung Galaxy F2 5G’s TENAA listing has revealed that it measures 164.63 x 76.3 x 8.7 and weighs 199 grams. The 5G-ready phone has a 6.572-inch display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels.

The TENAA listing mentions that it has a TFT screen, but the absence of a physical fingerprint sensor indicates that it could be featuring an AMOLED panel with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. A far as the front design is concerned, the screen can be seen sporting a punch-hole at the upper-right corner.

The handset is fueled by a 2.40GHz octa-core processor and 8 GB of RAM. The device comes with 128 GB of storage and a microSD card slot for additional storage. It houses a 4,350mAh battery, which is expected to carry support for 25W rapid charging.

The Galaxy F52 5G has a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel. The camera module at the back has four cameras and an LED flash. The camera setup is led by a 64-megapixel camera. The other features of the smartphone include Android 11 OS, a USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Now that the smartphone has received important certifications in China, it is likely to go official as early as this month. At present, there is no word on the other markets that will b receiving the Galaxy F52 5G.

Realme has already confirmed that the company will be launching its latest smartphone lineup in the form of the Realme Q3 series on 22nd April in its home country China. Now, ahead of the launch, the company has revealed a new color option for the phones.

In a new teaser poster shared by the company, it has been revealed that the Realme Q3 will also come in the “Psychedelic Silver” color option. Realme’s Vice President and President for China wing, Xu Qi says that this new color scheme is inspired by Y2K Culture with a metallic texture and full-color illusions with science fiction and futuristic sense.

Earlier, it was revealed that the Realme Q3 series will come in a yellow-colored body with a green fluorescent logo which is likely to be coated with Phosphorescent paint to make it glow in the dark scenarios.

The company is expected to launch three smartphones in the series — Realme Q3 and Q3 Pro. Being a successor to the Realme Q2 series, the lineup is expected to be targeting a budget-friendly audience.

Teasers of the Realme Q3 Pro shared by the company confirms that it features a triple-camera setup with the module placed in the top-left corner. It also comes with a 64-megapixel primary camera and an LED flash.

From the leaks, it appears that the phone may come with a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with an in-screen fingerprint reader. It is confirmed to have support for a 120Hz refresh rate and run the Android 11 operating system.

The company has also confirmed MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC for the smartphone. The phone is expected to pack a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W rapid charging. It has reportedly obtained a 677,177 overall score on the AnTuTu benchmark app.

The Realme Q3 series smartphones are set to get launched in China tomorrow, i.e. 22nd April so it’s just a wait of a few more hours before we get to know more about the devices, including full specifications, features, memory variants, pricing, and availability.

South Korean tech giant Samsung has introduced a new contactless program for smartphone customers in India — a pick-up and drop service. It is available for users when they need to repair their devices.

The company is also offering a drop-only service for those customers who have given their phones for service at a Samsung authorized service center and only want their device to be delivered post repair.

Currently, the pick-up and drop service is limited to customers of Samsung Galaxy A-series, M-series, S-series, F-series, Galaxy Note lineup, and Galaxy Fold series of smartphones along with the Galaxy tablets.

Commenting on the launch of this new service, Sunil Cutinha, Vice President, Customer Service, Samsung India said: “The new pick-up and drop & drop only service will allow consumers to get their mobile devices serviced without stepping out of their homes, especially in the current situation. We are confident our wide service network and many contactless service options will help deepen our consumer connect while providing greater convenience. We are hopeful consumers will utilize the pick-up and drop service while they stay home and stay safe.”

However, the service is not free of cost. For the pick-up and drop, the company is charging Rs 199 and for the drop-only service, the users will have to shell out Rs 99.

In February this year, Xiaomi ecological chain company Viomi launched the Alpha 1C Robot Vacuum cleaner with a unique wet mopping and dry dust collection compartment. The company has now launched an upgraded model dubbed Viomi Alpha 2 Pro Robot Vacuum cleaner. The product is officially on sale on Viomi’s Tmall official flagship store. The device carried a price tag of 3499 yuan (~$537).

The Viomi Alpha 2 Pro utilizes an AI laser radar (LDS) system which can scan a large area. Apart from obstacle detection at the front, the laser radar can also detect obstacles at the sides of the vacuum cleaner. Thanks to this, it can achieve 180° real-time scanning and an observation distance of 8 meters. Moreover, the radar system is not affected by light conditions as it is also effective in the dark. The vacuum is said to be capable of recognizing 150 different kinds of obstacles.

Further, the Viomi Alpha 2 Pro adopts the AI-Dumping 3.0 automatic dust collection system. The system can realize the whole process of cleaning, dust collection, and dust disposal. The main unit, dust collecting seat, and dust bag are purified by triple precision filtration. The activated carbon used in the dust bag has up to 99.99% antibacterial property and effectively prevents bacteria from multiplying. It can also filter dust, allergens, bacteria, and other harmful substances layer by layer.

The Alpha 2 Pro also has a redesigned air duct layout different from those of other robot vacuums. The new design shortens the length of the air duct by nearly 60%. The vacuum also has a strong suction power of 30KPa that can achieve fast dust collection in 15 seconds at the fastest, and effectively improve the efficiency and effectiveness of dust collection.

Earlier this week, a Vivo smartphone with model number V2118A was seen at the database of the Google Play Console. Now, the device has received certification from the 3C certification platform of China. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the V2118A could be an updated edition of the iQOO Neo3, which was announced last year in the home market. Hence, it appears that may debut as an iQOO branded device.

The 3C certification of the Vivo V2118A revealed that it is a 5G phone and its retail package may include a 44W rapid charger. The 3C listing has no other information on its specs. The tipster that the V2118 handset will arrive with an LCD panel and Snapdragon 870.

The Vivo V2118A’s Google Play Console listing had revealed that its screen features a punch-hole at the upper-right corner. The listing further revealed that its right spine is flanked by a volume controller and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The V2118A’s display offers a 1080 x 2408 pixels FHD+ resolution and a 480ppi pixel density. The Snapdragon 870 SoC was mentioned with its 8250ac part number in the listing along with 8 GB of RAM. It was found to be preloaded with Android 11 OS. The other specs of the phone are yet to be revealed.

The iQOO Neo3 5G that debuted last year came with specs like a 6.57-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 865 chipset, up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. For photography, it came with a 16-megapixel selfie camera and a 48-megapixel (main) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) triple camera system. It remains to be seen whether the V2118A features the same cameras and battery that were available on the Neo3.

Upcoming Vivo smartphones with model numbers V2069A and V2066A have received approval from the TENAA authority of China (via). The listings have revealed the images and specifications of both phones. However, there is no word on the final product name of these devices.

Vivo V2069A and Vivo V2066A specifications

The Vivo V2069A 5G phone has 163.95 x 73.50 x 8.5mm dimensions and weighs 188.5 grams. The 6.58-inch FHD+ display of the phone seems to feature a teardrop notch. It has a front camera of 8-megapixel and a 64-megapixel + 2-megapixel camera setup on the back. It is expected to land in China in multiple storage choices such as 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. The handset is powered by a 2.2GHz processor.

On the other side, the Vivo V2066A is a 4G handset with a 6.51-inch HD+ LCD panel with a waterdrop notch. It measures 164.51 x 76.32 x 8.41mm and weighs 191.4 grams. The V2066A has a front camera of 8-megapixel, and its back panel has a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera module. It is expected to be available in 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants and it features a 2.0GHz processor.

The Vivo V2069A and V2066A are equipped with some common features like 4 GB / 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM, 4,910mAh rated battery, Android 11 OS. These devices seem to lack a microSD card slot and a fingerprint scanner. The 3C appearance of both devices have hinted that they may support 18W fast charging. A variant of V2066A, with model number V2066A/BA was spotted at TENAA last month with similar specs and design.

It is unclear whether the V2069A and V2066A will be available in China as Vivo or iQOO branded devices. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know more about these phones.

Transsion Holdings subsidiary Tecno unveiled the Spark 7 earlier this month in India to signal the entrance of the latest iteration in the budget Spark series. The Chinese company has now unveiled the Spark 7P with a pretty impressive spec array and cool design.

Starting with the display, the Tecno Spark 7P packs a 6.8-inch display that pans out at a 20.5:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and HD+ resolution of 1640 x 720 pixels. The display features a waterdrop notch design with the notch housing an 8MP selfie camera.

The Spark 7P is powered by the MediaTek Helio G70 processor, a 12nm octa-core SoC comprised of two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2GHz each and six Cortex-A55 CPUs clocked at 1.7GHz each. The processor also pairs with a Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. The device comes in a sole 4GB RAM memory but is available in 64GB and 128GB storage options both of which can be expanded via microSD slot.

In terms of photography, the smartphone packs a triple camera setup at the rear made up of a 16MP main AI camera. The other sensors include a portrait camera and an AI camera. There is also a Quad-LED flash at the back. The rear aspect also houses a fingerprint sensor which unlocks the device swiftly.

The Spark 7P runs Android 11-based HiOS 7.5 and packs a generous 5000mAh battery. The phone is available in Alps Blue, Spruce Green, Magnet Black, and Summer Mojito colors. The pricing and availability details are yet to be unveiled.

On April 27, Vivo will be announcing the Vivo V21 5G and Vivo V21e smartphones in Malaysia. The company is likely to announce the Vivo V21 series in India on the same date or on April 29. Ahead of the launch, the alleged Vivo V21 5G smartphone has appeared in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking platform (via).

A new Vivo phone with model number V2050 has emerged at Geekbench. The listing states that it is powered by a MediaTek chip that has a model number of MT6853/TNZA. This chip appears to the Dimensity 800U chipset that has a base frequency of 1.80GHz. The V2050 has 8 GB of RAM and it runs on Android 11 OS. In the single-core test, the phone scored 538 points and it achieved 1586 in the multi-core test.

The leaked specs sheet of the Vivo V21 5G that emerged yesterday claimed that it is powered by the Dimensity 800U chip. Hence, it seems that the V2050 Vivo phone could be the upcoming Vivo V21 5G.

The device is expected to feature a 6.44-inch S-AMOLED E3 display that offers an FHD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 800nits brightness. It may flaunt a 44-megapixel selfie camera with OIS support, and its rear-mounted triple camera system may include a 64-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel superwide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

The Vivo V21 5G may come with a 4,000mAh battery and 33W rapid charging support. Apart from 8 GB of RAM, it may offer users 3GB of extended RAM. It has a thickness of 7.29mm and weighs 176 grams. The V21 5G may cost around Rs 25,000 (~$331) and it may sell in hues like Sunset Dazzle, Dusk Blue, and Arctic White.

Apple’s 2020 iPad Pro models feature an A12Z Bionic chipset which is a variation of the A12 Bionic utilized on the flagship iPhone 11 series. This year, the company turned things around as the iPad Pro 2020 is unveiled packing an M1 chipset.

Remember the M1? The powerful chip designed for Mac was first announced last year and found its way into the MacBook Air and MacBook 13 Pro. The chipset is a powerhouse CPU packing an innovative design and performance. The processor is said to bring up to 50% improvement in performance compared to the A12Z. The GPU performance is also bumped up by 40%. The processor is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and you can get up to 2TB of storage on the tablet.

In terms of the display, the iPad Pro 2021 is available in two screen sizes; an 11-inch model that utilizes an LCD display and a 12.9-inch model equipped with a mini-LED screen which Apple calls Liquid Retina XDR display. The mini-LED screen has a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and 1,000 nits full-screen brightness. It also features support for HDR10, Dolby Vision, HLG imaging formats.

On the other hand, the LCD screen manages a peak brightness of 600 nits. The screen retans support for True Tone and features the DCI-P3 color gamut. The two displays come with a 120Hz refresh rate which Apple calls ProMotion.

Further, connectivity is improved on the iPad Pro 2021 models as they now support 5G connectivity. This is the first time Apple is releasing its tablet with 5G support. The 5G variants features an eSIM.

For photography, the slate packs a 12MP TrueDepth camera as well as an ultrawide-angle lens with 122º field of view up front. The wide FOV enables a feature which Apple calls Center Stage. Ho this works is that the tablet can zoom in and pan to keep the subject in the centre of the frame when in a video call. Also, if there are two subjects, it will zoom out to keep both subjects at the centre of the frame. The rear aspect features a dual camera setup which is a 12MP main sensor and a 10MP ultrawide sensor. There is also a LiDAR scanner that helps with autofocus in low-light.

As for the pricing, the iPad Pro 12.9 starts at $1,099 for the 4G version and $1,299 for the 5G version. On the other hand, the 11-inch model starts at $799 while the WiFi+cellular version will retail for $999.

It is no longer news that when you search for certain animals on Google, you can view the animal in 3D. There is also an option to “view in your space” which brings the animal to “life“ using AR. Google is now expanding the AR characters you can view in your space with the addition of famous Japanese characters such as PAC-MAN, Hello Kitty, and Gundam.

According to Google, PAC-MAN is the most searched animated icon on its search engine. The search interest in the dot-eating character is even more than double that of Hello Kitty which is the second most-searced character. Google now lets you bring these characters into your space.

There are other popular characters too that have been included. There is Gundam (Odysseus and Penelope), Evangelion, Gomora, and Ultraman (including Ultraman Zero and Ultraman Belial). The full list of 14 characters is on the Japanese Google blog.

To view these characters, search for any of them in the search bar of any Android browser or in the Google app. Tap to view in 3D and if your device is ARCore-enabled, tap the button that says “View in your space“. iOS users can search for any of the characters in the Google app or on Google.com in Chrome or Safari. AR content can be viewed by devices running iOS 11+ or later.

Apple has announced the release of its Apple TV 4K media player, and it features a few additions and innovations from its predecessor, the first-gen Apple TV. The Apple TV 4K runs on Apple’s custom-made A12 Bionic chipset, which debuted in some Apple smartphone models like the iPhone XS and XR series. The Apple A12 Bionic chipset is a silicon chip packed with power to provide an overall excellent performance and power efficiency via the CPU and GPU.

This new Apple TV 4K is capable of playing 4K HDR video excellently. There would be a lot of content available for users in no time, as Apple is engaging actively with several content producers to produce compatible content for the Apple TV 4K.

Among the features available for the latest Apple product is a Siri Remote which is exceptionally better than its predecessor. The touchpad is a circular pad with five-way controls, together with an array of innovative and exciting features.

An added feature for iPhones running iOS 14.5 operating system is color calibration using Face ID. This can be used to calibrate the color output of your TV if it is yet to be done while watching content through the Apple TV 4K.

Apple has indeed tickled the imagination of its customers with the sneak peek into the array of features available in the second-generation Apple TV 4K and would expect massive orders for the device.

The Apple TV 4K will cost $179, and orders can be received from April 30 across over 30 countries. Customers will begin receiving their orders from mid-May, according to the tech giant. The new Siri Remote is available for $59, while the first-generation Apple TV and the Siri Remote will be bundled for $159.

Apple’s incredibly thin new iMac has an M1 chip and comes in seven colors

The Apple iMac got a refresh today in terms of design and processing power. The desktop computer now has the Apple M1 chip that made its debut in the MacBook last year powering it and also comes in seven colors.

Apple says the new iMac is 11.5 mm thick which is thinner than two iPhone 12 Minis placed on top of each other. The All-in-One has a 24” 4.5K Retina Display with support for 1 billion colors. It has True Tone technology which it uses to automatically adjust the color temperature based on your environment.

The iMac has the Apple M1 chip and is available in two versions – one with an 8-core CPU and a 7-core GPU and another with an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. You get 8GB of RAM on the base model of each version and 256GB of storage. There is an option to upgrade the storage of the less-powerful version to 512GB or 1TB while the more powerful version can be upgraded up to 16GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.

For ports and connectivity, the new iMac has two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports (the more powerful version has two extra USB 3 ports), Wi-Fi 6, an ethernet port that is built into the power brick. The power connector attaches to the back via magnets and you get a color matching cable. There is a 1080p FaceTime HD camera that takes advantage of the ISP of the Apple M1 chip to enhance image quality. It also has studio-quality microphones and a six-speaker system. An audio jack is on the left side of the frame.

The new iMac and iPhone work better together. Your calls and texts appear on the desktop, so you don’t have to pick up your phone to reply to that text. There is also a universal clipboard that makes it easy to copy text, images, links, and more between devices.

Apple also announced a new wireless Magic Keyboard that has Touch ID built-in. You can unlock your device, make payments, and download apps with just your finger. Apple says there is a security chip inside the keyboard that communicates directly with a secure enclave inside the M1 chip and provides end-to-end encryption for your data.

There are two keyboards – one without a numeric keypad and one that has a numeric keypad. Both have keys for Spotlight, Dictation, Do Not Disturb, and emoji. And they are available in the same colors as the iMac. There are also matching Magic Mice and Magic Trackpad.

The new iMac starts at $1299 for the standard version. This doesn’t have an ethernet port and the Magic Keyboard doesn’t have Touch ID. The version with an 8-core GPU starts at $1499 and has an ethernet port and a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. Pre-order starts on April 30 and availability is in May.

Apple has finally unveiled its smart tracker device. The device adopts the moniker Apple AirTag and features similar technology that adorns the recently released Samsung SmartTag+ which debuted last week in South Korea.

The Apple AirTag features ultra-wideband (UWB) technology to locate the device with greater precision. Using Apple’s Find My app, you can quickly locate the tagged object. The AirTag will work using the Find My app on the iPhone 11 or 12 Series.

The operation of the SmartTag is similar to Samsung’s SmartTag+, and when the tracker is within the Bluetooth range, a beep can be activated via the app to locate the tagged object quickly. Apple’s smart Voice Assistant Siri can also be used to find the tracker.

The smart and lightweight tracker’s added feature is that it is both water and dust resistant, with its IP67 rating. It also has a lithium battery that can last up to a year.

Apple has also ensured that even when the tag is out of Bluetooth range, a combination of smart features in the device makes it possible to locate the tag using the Precision Finding technique, according to Apple. The ability to locate a lost or stolen tag will depend on the availability of users of Apple’s Find My app anywhere in the world where UWB service is not restricted. In such instances, the AirTag can discreetly use other smartphones to update its location on the owner’s Find My app.

The Apple AirTag will be available from April 30 and will retail for just $29. However, a pack of four Apple AirTags can be gotten for $99.

Apple has announced a new purple colorway for the iPhone 12 series. This brings the total number of colors to 6.

The new purple iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini (sorry iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max owners) will be available for pre-order this Friday and go on sale on April 30. Just like the other color variants, the new paint job matches the frame. Apple has also made available accessories that match the new color.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini were originally available in Black, Blue, Green, Red, and White when they launched last year. The two devices have OLED displays, Apple A14 bionic chips, dual rear cameras, and 4GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 Concept renders appear in multiple colors

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3/ Z Flip2 (Tentative) are supposedly a few months away from launch. However, the leaks and reports regarding them haven’t shunned away. Yesterday, GalaxClub.nl reported that the new Galaxy Z Flip will come in about eight color variants. Today, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 concept design renders have been shared on the Korean forum meeco.kr.

The renders shared by a user on the forum show the concept renders of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in multiple colors. To recall, the colors mentioned in the earlier report include Purple, Green, Black, Gray, White, Dark Blue, Pink, and Beige(Sandy fawn color). Out of this, we already saw an earlier concept render in purple color.

The latest render, albeit having few differences in the secondary cover display area, has the same camera layout as the Galaxy S21. Also, the new renders appear only in Gray, Black, Green, Purple color options.

Speaking of the cover display, the Galaxy Z Flip3 is said to have a bigger foldable and cover display(rumored to be 1.81-inches). In case you don’t know, the earlier version had a 1.1-inch screen. Anyway, if reports are true, this one will get an LTPO AMOLED internal display.

Ther renders show curvy edges on the frames which, if recent reports are anything to go by, may get an upgrade in the form of ‘Armor Frame’ i.e., carbon and titanium materials to add extra strength.

Some of the other expected features of the Galaxy Z Flip3 include IP rating, in-display fingerprint sensor, Snapdragon 888 chipset, improved cameras, 3,200mAh battery, and more.

Considering the launch is a bit far away, we will have to wait for a while to get concrete details regarding the 2021 clamshell foldable phone from Samsung.
