In a major boost to the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative, Apple has now started manufacturing iPhone 11 in India at the Foxconn plant which is located near Chennai in Tamil Nadu, reports The Economic Times.
Apple has already been manufacturing iPhones in India but there were not premium devices. That changed last year when Apple started assembling iPhone XR locally in India and now the current-generation iPhone 11 model has joined the list.
As per the report, Apple is ramping up production in phases and will soon start exporting the iPhone from India to other markets. This will likely lead to a price cut in the Indian market for the same model. Apple could reportedly save around 22 percent in import duties on locally assembled iPhone 11 in India.
The company started manufacturing smartphones in the Indian market with the first-generation iPhone SE, which is no longer on sale. It later started assembling iPhone 6S, iPhone 7, iPhone XR, and iPhone XS in India.
The report further adds that the company is also planning to start manufacturing the new iPhone SE 2020 as well as the iPhone 11 Pro smartphones in the Indian market at the Foxconn facility near Chennai.
Apple seems to be drawn to the benefits of the Government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. Also, smartphone companies are also planning to shift production outside of China to reduce dependence on a single country. Such a move is likely to help the manufacturing sector in India, along with countries like Vietnam.
The development of Apple manufacturing iPhone 11 in India comes just days after it was reported that the next-generation AirPods as well as 2021 AirPods Pro will be made in Vietnam. The company has already shifted the production of AirPods Pro to Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Apple is gearing up to launch four iPhone 12 models this year — iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, having three different screen sizes. Reports indicate that while the announcement will take place in September, sales for some of the models could commence from October.
Earlier this week, Asus started taking pre-orders for a new Wi-Fi 6 router variant. The Mobile Suit Gundam Special Edition router is being sold for the RT-AX82U and RT-AX86U models and are priced at 1,199 Yuan (roughly 170 US Dollars) and 1,699 Yuan (roughly 242 US Dollars) respectively.
Looking at the new limited edition Wi-Fi 6 routers, we can see that RT-AX82U model perfectly resembles the main Gundam unit from the popular and iconic Mobile Suit Gundam series with its white, red, and blue color schemes. For those unaware, the anime is set in the distant future and feature giant fighting mechs (manned robots).
Similarly, the RT-AX86U fits the main antagonist’s color scheme and also supports Wi-Fi 6. Under the hood, the RT-AX82U Wi-Fi router sports high performance multi core processors and offers a peak bandwidth of 5,700Mbps. It is equipped with a 2.5G port and supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standards. It also features AURA RGB gaming lighting effects as well. Unfortunately, these routers are only available in a limited quantity of 500 units and will go on sale from 3rd August 2020.
Xiaomi is known to provide at least 3 MIUI updates to most of its devices. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case with Mi Mix 3 5G as the company’s first 5G smartphone is still running its launch software MIUI 10 based on Android Pie. Though Xiaomi customer support confirmed the handset to get MIUI 12 by the end of October, a new Q&A on Mi Community contradicts it saying “there is no update plans for the 5G variant”.
It is said that Xiaomi did not manage to sell a large number of Mi Mix 3 5G in both Europe and China. As a result, the company seems to have abandoned plans to update it even to MIUI 11 and Android 10.
Therefore, a petition was created on Change.org by an owner of the device urging Xiami to provide MIUI 11 update. A month later, the customer support confirmed direct upgrade to MIUI 12 but based on Android Pie. This brought relief to the users of the handset.
Recently, a post regarding MIUI 12 update for the regular (4G) Mi Mix 3 was posted by the company on Mi Community (via PiunikaWeb). It contains a Q&A at the bottom where a question asks “What about the 5G variant?”
The answer to this question reads, “From the information we have, there is no update plans for the 5G variant. We do not know when an update might come, so kindly avoid raising queries about it. Any key information regarding a possible update will be announced in the subforum.”
This clearly contradicts the statement given by customer support. Unfortunately, since this post is new, we think Xiaomi might have changed its plans for the Mi Mix 3 5G. That means the company’s first 5G smartphone may never receive MIUI 12.
As expected, Realme has today launched its new budget smartphone in the Indian market — Realme 6i. From the looks of it, the device seems like a rebranded version of the Realme 6s smartphone which was launched in Europe a couple of months ago.
The Realme 6i comes with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD display that offers a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. It has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, and is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
Underneath, the device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. It comes in two memory variants — 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. The phone also has a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding the storage capacity.
Coming to the optics, the device features a quad-camera setup on the back. It comes with a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel 119-degree ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.3 aperture, a 2-megapixel mono sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel MP 4cm macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
On the front side, the smartphone has a 16-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies and video calling. The device also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that can unlock the phone in about 0.2 seconds, claims the company.
The smartphone runs the Android 10 operating system out-of-the-box with a layer of Realme UI on top. It is powered by a 4,300mAh battery that has support for 30W Flash Charge fast charging technology.
The Realme 6i comes in two color options — Eclipse Black and Lunar White. The 4GB RAM model costs ₹12,999 while the 6GB RAM model is priced at ₹14,999. It will be up for sale in India from 31st July through Realme’s official website and online marketplace Flipkart.
A recent CINNO Research report has revealed important news regarding the Chinese smartphone market. In the first half of 2020, the smartphone shipments in the region fell by a sizeable 24.7 percent compared to 2019, with Huawei, including Honor, leading the market with a share of more than 40 percent.
According to the report, the top three players in China’s market for the first half included Huawei (and Honor), Vivo (and iQOO), and Oppo (and Realme). These three alone accounted for 71.9 percent of all domestic smartphone shipments. The primary reason for the sharp decline in the market was due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, which had first reported cases surface in China.
The report revealed that Huawei and Honor sold about 58 million handset unit combined and held a market share of 40.2 percent with a year on year increase of 4.9 percent. Furthermore, Vivo and iQOO shipped over 23.2 million units and had a market share of 16.1 percent and a year on year growth of 2.1 percent. And lastly, Oppo and Realme sold approximately 22.6 million units and had a market share of 15.6 percent and saw a year on year decline of 2.6 percent.
Similarly, Apple and Xiaomi rounded up the top 5, with the former shipping 17 million units and held a market share of 11.8 percent and year on year increase of 3.4 percent. As for the latter, 15 million units were sold with a market share of 10.3 percent and a year on year decline of 1.7 percent. Notably, we had reported on a projection from TrendForce which expected Huawei and Apple to lead the 5G smartphone market in 2020; and with the launch of the 5G iPhone 12 series coming up, we may expect a shift in the ranking for the second half of 2020.
OnePlus seems to be having some serious issues when it comes to data security. The Chinese company has yet again exposed user data, in what Android Police is calling the stupidest way. The company exposed email addresses of hundreds of its customers in a research email.
While it’s not data breach and the issue is a bit less serious, it showcases the trend on how OnePlus continues to face data-related issues. The development comes when the company suffered two security-related issues this month.
In this customers’ email exposure, OnePlus sent out a mass mailer for research and study, and instead of putting email ids of customers in the BCC field, the company sent out the email with all email ids in the To field, exposing them to everyone on the list.
However, the number of the leaked email address of OnePlus customers have not been independently verified but a user on Reddit which revealed this and shared image, claims that it is hundreds of customers.
Last year, in November, the company had revealed a major data breach in which customer’s information such as name, contact number, email, and shipping address was exposed but the company had said that payment information was safe.
Prior to that, OnePlus had reported its first security breach in which credit card information of nearly 40,000 OnePlus customers was exposed through the company’s official website. After last year’s breach, the company had said that it would partner “with a world-renowned security platform” and launch a bug bounty program.
MediaTek recently launched its all-new chipset under the Dimensity lineup — MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G, which is aimed towards mid-range smartphones. The launch of this new chipset introduced the new Dimensity 700-series of processors from the company.
At the time of launching the chipset, MediaTek had not revealed details about which manufacturers will be among the first to launch devices powered by this new chipset. Today, the company has revealed that information.
MediaTek has confirmed three Chinese smartphone makers — Huawei, OPPO, and Xiaomi as the first brands which will launch devices powered by the Dimensity 720 SoC, reports China-based Economic Daily. However, there’s no timeline for this, but we expect something in the coming weeks.
Coming to the chipset, it is manufactured using TSMC‘s 7nm process. It comes with an integrated 5G modem that supports 2CC carrier aggregation, VoNR, 5G/4G Dual SIM dual standby, and sub-6GHz 5G.
It packs two ARM Cortex-A76 big cores operating at 2GHz in the octa-core CPU, which the company claims to improve the responsiveness of applications for fluid user experience. It also packs an ARM Mali G57 GPU, up to 12GB fast LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage for fast read/write speeds.
This MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC has support for 90Hz high frame-rate displays along with enhanced video streaming capabilities like MiraVision and HDR10+. It supports up to 64-megapixel single sensor or a dual-camera setup consisting of a 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel sensors, with AI-backed features powered by integrated APU.
It also comes with MediaTek 5G UltraSave technology which uses both network and content awareness intelligence to manage the modem’s operating mode in real-time to further extend the battery life. To minimize the power consumption of always-on voice assistants, the company has included a feature called Voice Wakeup.
After teasing the upcoming smartphone, Realme has now confirmed that the company will launch the Realme V5 smartphone in China. Now, the brand has revealed the launch date, confirming that it will be launched on 27th July.
While the company has teased the smartphone’s design through teasers, nothing about the device’s specifications and features has been revealed by the company so far. But, we have some idea about what to expect.
Realme has said that the phone will be made up of a brand new material. It seems that the device will have an AG glass back with matte-finish and will feature a larger Realme branding.
Recently, RMX2111/RMX2112 5G smartphones got certified by TENNA, which reveals that the phone will come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a punch-hole cutout from the front-facing camera. Under the hood, the device may reportedly be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800 chipset.
The device is expected to come in variants — 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM with three internal storage options — 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. It reportedly has a microSD card slot, allowing uses to expand the storage capacity.
In the camera department, the listing reveals a quad-camera setup on the back. It consists of a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel sensors. The smartphone will be running the Android 10 with its own Realme UI on top.
It will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and we expect some sort of fast charging solution from the company, probably 30W fast charging. As per the listing, the phone will come in four color options — Black, Gray, Green, and Silver.
From the TENAA listing, it seems that we could see Realme launch the V5 series of smartphones and just a single phone. There could be some other variants of the Realme V5 as well, including the Pro model. To know for sure, we’ll have to wait for few more days.
Realme will be launching the Realme C15 phone in Indonesia on July 28. The smartphone will be positioned higher than the recently unveiled Realme C11 phone. Realme has already confirmed that the Realme C15 has a 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The listing of the phone at Lazada Indonesia revealed its two variants and color editions. A fresh report on Playfuldroidhas revealed some other details like the processor and camera configurations of the Realme C15.
According to the publication, the Realme C15 is powered by the Helio G35. The same processor fuels the Realme C11 phone. The C11 features a 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual-camera system. The upcoming Realme C15 has four cameras on its back.
The C15’s quad-camera setup is comprised of a main camera of 13-megapixel, a superwide sensor of 8-megapixel, a macro lens of 2-megapixel, and a depth assist sensor of 2-megapixel. It could be featuring a 5-megapixel front camera.
There is no information available about the display of the Realme C15 yet. The official renders of the phone have revealed that it has a waterdrop notch screen. There is a possibility could be sporting the same 6.5-inch IPS LCD panel available on the Realme C11. It is already known that the Realme C15 will be available in two models such as 3 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. The pricing of these models is not known yet.
The Realme C15 has a rear-positioned fingerprint scanner. The phone will be available in Indonesia in two colors such as Seagull Grey and Marine Bluet. There is no word on the names of the other markets that will be receiving the Realme C15 smartphone.
Realme is gearing up to introduce its first Realme V-series phone called Realme V5 in China. Recently, the 3C authority of China approved two smartphones with model numbers RMX2121 and RMX2111 / RMX2112. The images of RMX2121 appeared at TENAA last month, but the listing is yet to be populated with its specifications. It was incorrectly speculated as the upcoming Realme V5 phone. Now that the Realme RMX2111 / RMX2112 has appeared at TENAA with full specs, it can be said that it could be the forthcoming Realme V5 phone.
The RMX2121 TENAA images suggest that it has a 6.55-inch punch-hole AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The screen of the device is expected to support a high refresh rate. It is rumored to house a 4,500mAh battery and its 3C certification revealed that it may ship with a 65W fast charger.
The Realme RMX2111 / RMX2112 phone that appeared on TENAA has an LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It has a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Its 3C certification revealed that it could be coming with a 30W rapid charger. The design of the Realme RMX2111 / RMX2112 matches with the appearance of the Realme V5. Hence, the upcoming V5 phone seems to have an RMX2112 / RMX2112 model number.
The Realme RMX2111 / RMX2112 5G’s TENAA listing reveals 162.2 x 75.1 x 9.1mm dimensions and 194 grams weight. It will come in colors like black, gray, green, and silver colors. It houses a 20:9 aspect ratio supporting a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display. It has a 5,000mAh battery (4,900mAh rated capacity).

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition by the end of this year. It is unclear whether the device will be called Galaxy S20 Fan Edition or Galaxy Fan Edition. However, it seems certain that it will not be called Galaxy S20 Lite. Last week, reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal had shared key details of the smartphone. Earlier this week, a South Korean publication shared some vital information on its camera configurations and pricing. A new report on Dutch publication GalaxyClub.nlclaims that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition has a 4,500mAh battery.
The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will have a 4G edition (SM-G780) and a 5G model (SM-G781). According to the publication, the model number of the S20 FE’s battery is EB-BG781ABY. Its rated capacity is 4,370mAh. The battery of the Galaxy S20 Plus also has the same rated capacity. Hence, it can be said the typical value of Galaxy S20 FE’s battery is 4,500mAh.
The publication has further stated that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition will be arriving in colors like red, white, green, and orange. A South Korean publication had recently reported that the device could be priced around $750 in the home market. This pricing is $100 more than that of the predecessor Galaxy S10 Lite smartphone. The company is expected to ship 5 million units of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition by end of this year.
Galaxy S10 Lite’s successor may launch as the Galaxy S20 FE
The rear-facing triple camera setup of the S20 FE will have a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel ultrawide shooter, and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. The S20 FE will have a 32-megapixel front camera. The IP68 certified handset will also feature a 3.5mm audio jack.
Earlier this year, OPPO unveiled the OPPO Watch as its first smartwatch. Debuting next week on July 31 is the updated version of the OPPO Watch. Fresh information (viaEngadget) reveals that the updated OPPO Watch will come preinstalled with Wear OS by Google.
The OPPO Watch that went official in May this year was made available mainly in China. It came with ColorOS Watch, but the updated edition has Wear OS onboard. The promotional GIF released by the company confirms it. While the updated OPPO Watch is all set to get an official announcement in the coming week, it seems to have already gone official in Germany.
The OPPO Watch that debuted in Germany is loaded with some Google apps such as Google Assistant and Google Pay. Its Chinese variant came with Breeno assistant and Ali Pay. It has a 1.6-inch AMOLED display with curved edges. The screen produces 360 x 360 resolution and it is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
The Snapdragon Wear 2500 and the power-efficient Apollo 3 chip powers the new OPPO Watch. It has 1 GB of RAM and a built-in storage of 8 GB of RAM. The smartwatch has a 300mAh battery. In low power mode, the device can last for up to 14 days.
The new OPPO Watch can track various kinds of activities such as running, swimming, and cycling. It supports sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking, ECG, and sedentary reminder. It debuted with a price tag of 249 euros.
The OPPO Watch will debut in India on July 31. The Reno4 Pro smartphone will also go official alongside it. The Reno4 Pro 5G that debuted in June in China was a Snapdragon 765G powered 5G phone. The Reno4 Pro coming to India is a 4G variant driven by Snapdragon 720G.
Earlier this month, a rumour emerged that LG was planning to release several 5G smartphones including the LG Q92 5G. That rumour is gathering traction as an LG model listed as Q92 has appeared on Google Play Console (via Gadgets Rewind). As usual, the Google Play Console listing includes a front render of the device. The render reveals the presence of a centrally placed single punch-hole which will house the selfie camera.
As per the listed details, the LG Q92 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset. The mobile platform is a fast mid-range ARM-based SoC. It is one of the first chipsets that integrate a 5G modem- the Snapdragon X5. The modem brings support for speeds of up to 3.7 / 1.6 Mbps (down- and upload) and mmWave and Sub-6. The processor also features the Adreno 620 GPU. The SoC will be paired with 6GB of RAM but we can’t say if that will be the base model.
The smartphone’s display will have an FHD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels but the screen size is still unknown. Further, the Q92 will boot Android 10 OS out of the box.
LG is yet to officially release any details of the upcoming model. However, the Q92 5G is believed to be a cheaper alternative to the well-received LG Velvet 5G. If that be the case, we may likely see the smartphone launched soon.
Huawei’s TalkBand series are quite unusual devices. They are a line of Bluetooth headsets that can also be worn on the wrist as a fitness tracker. Or you can say they are fitness trackers that double as Bluetooth headsets. Either of the two explanations suffice. A new model called the TalkBand B6 has leaked on Weibo and it packs really interesting upgrades.
Photos of the retail box and that of the TalkBand B6 itself and a short hands-on video were posted on Weibo yesterday by a user that goes by @看山的叔叔, providing a first look at the latest model of the series.
1 of 3
The TalkBand B6 is shown as having a larger AMOLED display than its predecessor, the TalkBand B5. The screen displays quite a lot of info such as the time and date, calories burnt, heart rate, weather, steps taken, distance walked/ran, and battery level. There are also multiple watch faces as seen in the video below.
In one of the images of the retail box, the device is shown sporting a red silicone strap while in the other image it has a black silicone strap. The live photo shows the band with a leather strap. We are pretty sure there will be different designs and materials to choose from for the strap of the TalkBand B6 including metal. While some of these straps may be made by Huawei, a large percentage will be made by third-party manufacturers.
The source says the TalkBand B6 has a Kirin A1 chip inside it. This is the same chip inside the Huawei FreeBuds 3. The chip brings advanced Bluetooth (Bluetooth 5.2), powerful audio, an independent power management unit, and an ultra-low-power application processor.
Other specifications mentioned include a 1.53-inch flexible display with anti-glare glass on top, a Hall sensor, a metal frame, voice assistant, remote camera feature, real-time motion data detection, and FIRSTBEAT™ professional sports guidance.
There is no info regarding the release date of the TalkBand B6 but it should launch first in China before a global release. The new model is coming more than two years after the launch of the TalkBand B5.
Huawei revamped its tablet line when it announced the MatePad Pro last year. The series now includes a 5G version of the MatePad Pro, a standard MatePad, and the entry-level MatePad T8. It turns out that Huawei will not be sticking to just the MatePad line for its tablets as a listing on Vmall has revealed it will also retain its C-series line of tablets. The new listing is for the Huawei C5 10 2020 and its specs are similar to those of the MatePad.
The Huawei C5 10 2020 has a 10.4-inch screen with a resolution of 2000 x 1200. The screen is surrounded by bezels of equal thickness that measure 7.9 millimeters.
The tablet is designed to be used in landscape mode which explains why its power button and front-facing camera are placed in “unusual positions”. When held in portrait mode, the power button is at the top of the device while the camera is on the right bezel. The volume rocker sits not close to the power button but on the right side of the tablet when held in portrait mode.
Powering the Huawei C5 10 2020 is the Kirin 810 processor and it is paired with 4GB of RAM. Buyers will be able to choose between having 64GB and 128GB of built-in storage.
There is an 8MP camera on the back of the device with an F2.0 aperture while the selfie camera is another 8MP F2.2 sensor. The tablet has support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, and a nano-SIM for the LTE version. It also has stylus support and Huawei’s Histen Audio technology.
Inside the tablet is a 7250mAh battery that charges via a USB-C port. The spec sheet doesn’t say but it should have support for 18W fast charging like the MatePad. The tablet will ship with EMUI 10 out of the box.
The Huawei C5 10 2020 will be available in Night Ash (Nightfall Gray) only with three configurations to choose from. Their prices are listed below:
Wi-Fi 4GB + 64GB = ¥2299 (~$328)
Wi-Fi 4GB + 128GB = ¥2699 (~$385)
LTE 4GB + 64GB = ¥2699 (~$385)
There is no info on when it will be announced yet but you can sign up on the Vmall page to be notified when it is available for purchase.
With the launch of Android 10, Google dropped the tradition of naming the new version of Android after a dessert or sweet. The same will apply to its successor which will simply be called Android 11. However, the VP of Android, David Burke has revealed that the new version of Android actually has an internal codename.
Speaking on the podcast, All About Android, the executive revealed that Android 11 is referred to as “Red Velvet Cake” among his team. However, he clarified that it will not be used officially or any public branding. For those who don’t know, Android 10 actually had the internal codename “Quince Tart”.

It is sad that Google decided to forego naming new versions of Android after sweet treats. The tradition was one of the things that excited Android users and the thrill of having to guess what the name is was also part of the fun.
Android 11 is expected to be released as a stable version in September. The new version of Android will brings native screen recording, a revamped power menu, ability to revoke permissions from apps that haven’t used them in a while, and the ability to increase touch screen sensitivity which should be useful for those who use screen protectors.
The most awaited gaming phones of the year are finally official. Yesterday, Asus and Lenovo launched their new gaming phones on the same day. We are talking about Asus ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion Duel, both offering flagship-class specifications, gaming-centric features, and several innovations for the niche. While we wait for them to be both available in the global market, we think it is time to compare their specifications in order to let you understand which is the better gaming phone for you. After checking the comparison, you can let us know if you agree with our opinions by using the comment box below the post.
The Lenovo Legion Duel looks very gorgeous for gamers because it has been designed with landscape usage in mind. It packs a side-mounted pop-up camera which can be used for live streaming during gaming sessions, as well as a rear camera placed at the center of the phone so that the player cannot touch them while playing games. But the Asus ROG Phone 3 does not joke with its two ultrasonic gaming triggers which can split into two different keys. The Asus ROG Phone 3 has dual USB-C ports as well and it even supports more external accessories than Lenovo Legion Duel. You can get the AeroActive Cooler to improve its performance in long gaming sessions, the Kunai 3 controller, a gaming clip for console controllers, a TwinView Dock with a secondary screen, and rugged cases compatible with the cooler. With both the devices you get a desktop mode to play on external monitors.
Display
With Asus ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion Duel, you get an AMOLED display with a diagonal above 6.5 inches, a Full HD+ resolution, the HDR10+ certification, and a very high 144 Hz refresh rate which you can tune to match the perfect compromise between smoothness and energy consumption. With the Asus ROG Phone 3 you even get a DCI-P3 coverage above 100% and 1 billion colors, so the Asus ROG Phone 3 looks slightly better.

Asus ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion Duel are powered by the new Snapdragon 865+ mobile platform by Qualcomm which offers a 10% performance boost to CPU and GPU compared to the previous Snapdragon 865. The SoC is paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. The storage is UFS 3.1, and the RAM is LPDDR5. You get very similar performances with these devices, and in each case, we are talking about top-tier flagships when it comes to the hardware department. Their user interfaces contain very interesting customizations for gamers.
Camera
On the paper, the rear camera department of the Asus ROG Phone 3 looks better than the Lenovo Legion Duel. The phone packs a 64 MP triple camera including an ultrawide sensor and a macro lens which is able to record videos in 8K resolution. But for gamers, the side-mounted front camera might be a lot more useful than a normal selfie camera like the one included in the ROG Phone 3 (for live streaming).
Asus ROG Phone 3 offers a longer battery life simply because it has a bigger battery (6000 mAh vs 5000 mAh). On the other hand, Lenovo Legion Duel can be charged a lot faster thanks to its 90W fast charging technology. If you use both its USB-C ports to charge the phone, you can fill it in just 30 minutes. Note that the 90W fast charging tech is only for the 16/512 GB configuration, while the other variants get either 65W or 45W fast charging, which is still a lot faster than the 30W fast charging tech found on the ROG Phone 3.
Price
Asus ROG Phone 3 starts from €899/$1042 (€799 for the Strix Edition with Snapdragon 865), while we still do not know how much the Lenovo Legion Duel will cost in the global market (it begins at $500 in China). I would personally go for the ROG Phone 3 because of its huge battery and external accessories, but at the end of the day, we can not pick a definitive winner of this comparison because it mostly depends on the user’s needs.
Asus ROG Phone 3 vs Lenovo Legion Duel: PRO and CONS
The Galaxy Note20’s spec sheet leaked yesterday and it revealed the phone will come in three colorways. While the leak included images of the Mystic Bronze and Mystic Bronze variant, the Mystic Green variant was missing in action. Now, a render of the green variant has surfaced on the web.
The render was posted on Twitter by Roland Quandt (@rquandt) and he confirms again that the phone will be available in both 4G and 5G variants. The phone has a Mint (Green) paint job with a matching S Pen. The color looks really good and may as well be my favorite of three variants.
The Galaxy Note20 will pack a 6.7-inch FHD+ 60Hz Super AMOLED display with a Snapdragon 865 Plus or Exynos 990 processor. It will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in Europe while other markets should get it in other configurations.
Samsung has put triple rear cameras on the back in a 12MP + 12MP + 64MP configuration with up to 30x digital zoom. The phone will also have a 4300mAh battery with support for fast wired and wireless charging. It will also have NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 6, and AKG-tuned stereo speakers.
