What’s new in HyperOS 3?

HyperOS 3 upgrades

HyperOS 3 builds upon the HyperCore technology, which was introduced last year. With the latest advancements, the CPU load has been reduced by 4% and the energy efficiency has improved by 10%. Additionally, the frame loss rate is claimed to have been reduced by 18.9%.

The latest software introduces a hot-swappable scheduling mechanism and a fully enabled graphics scheduling link, which brings notable improvements to gaming, including a 21% improvement in app launch speed, a 10% improvement in video playback, and a 9% reduction in touch response latency.

HyperOS 3 performance upgrades

Xiaomi claims to have optimized over 100 system animations, resulting in a more fluid and responsive software experience.

Talking about visual upgrades, HyperOS 3 introduces Xiaomi Super Island — a new dynamic hub for monitoring multiple live activities and notifications. This feature supports over 70 integrated services. It also brings AI dynamic wallpapers that can automatically apply depth effects, redesigned icons, and desktop grids.

Additionally, there are cinematic lock screens and a single interface to edit lock screens and wallpapers. The Photo Album is updated with intelligent search and automatically curated Pet Albums.

HyperOS 3 lock screen

HyperOS 3 enhances the device’s intelligence with AI upgrades. The Super XiaoAi Assistant gets on-screen content awareness. This means it can analyse what’s being displayed on the screen and provide answers based on that. Furthermore, you can now circle on-screen content to trigger instant actions such as search, translation, or sharing. It works similarly to Google’s Circle to Search.

Xiaomi has also worked on improving the interconnectivity between devices across ecosystems. With HyperOS 3, Xiaomi phone users can open mobile app windows (up to 3) on their Mac. The phone can now be unlocked via Touch ID or Face ID. Users can also seamlessly share files and view photos on an iPhone.

HyperOS 3 improved interconnectivity

As always, there’s something to privacy and security. Xiaomi adds two-factor authentication login for multi-device account login, enhanced data protection, and better control over app permissions. Xiaomi says users can locate their lost devices even if they are powered off.

Samsung Galaxy M07 may promise 6 Android upgrades with Helio G99 power

Samsung may be getting ready to expand its affordable Galaxy M series again, and the latest leak suggests the company is packing more long-term value than we usually see in the entry-level space.

According to a report from Smartprix, the upcoming Galaxy M07 will ship with Android 15 out of the box and will receive six major Android version upgrades.

Samsung Galaxy M07 Specs (Rumored)

On the hardware side, it’s rumored to feature a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.

Samsung also seems to be paying enough attention to design and durability. The phone reportedly measures just 7.6mm thick, weighs 184 grams and is IP54 rated for protection against dust and splashes.

Moreover, the phone is said to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, an a 3.5mm audio jack for anyone still holding onto wired headphones.

For cameras, the Galaxy M07 could sport a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP secondary lens, plus an 8MP selfie camera. It can record 1080p videos from both the front and back.

Keeping all things powered will be a 5,000mAh cell with 25W wired fast charging support. However, like most recent Samsung phones, the retail box won’t include a charger, only a USB-C cable, SIM ejector tool, and some paperwork.

Unsurprisingly, the M07 bears a more than passing resemblence to the Galaxy A07 4G in terms of specs. The F07 is also expected to follow a similar approach.

As per the leak, the Galaxy M07 is likely to launch in India with a price range between Rs 8,000 and Rs 9,000.

Xiaomi launches Mijia 5C Robot Vacuum with 15,000Pa suction & its first edge-mopping tech

Xiaomi has officially launched the Mijia Robot Vacuum-Mop 5C in China. The device introduces a new “ultra-extended edge-mopping” system that allows it to clean deeper into corners, baseboards, and floor gaps.

The robot is available in two variants: a standard water tank version priced at 2,199 yuan ($307) and a slim built-in auto water supply and drainage version priced at 2,699 yuan ($377). Pre-orders are live on JD.com.

Xiaomi Mijia 5C Robot Vacuum

Mijia Robot Vacuum-Mop 5C Specifications

The Mijia 5C features a compact circular design with a low 93mm profile. It measures 355 × 353.5 × 93mm and weighs around 3.9kg, allowing it to clean under beds, sofas, and cabinets. The two base stations vary in size. The standard base measures 495 × 320 × 260mm, while the slim auto-refill base has a 419 × 450 × 280mm footprint, designed for under-sink installation.

Xiaomi has equipped the vacuum with a 15000Pa suction fan and dual rotating mop pads. The mop arms extend up to 79mm and can reach edges with 0mm distance, improving cleaning performance along skirting boards and tight corners. The system simulates manual scrubbing and supports high-speed rotation.

The robot uses a 129° LDS laser sensor for obstacle detection and navigation. It supports real-time mapping, multi-floor memory, dynamic route planning, and millimeter-level precision. It automatically detects carpets, boosts suction, and lifts mop pads to prevent wetting surfaces.

The vacuum runs on a 5200mAh battery (rated 4800mAh). The charging base supports up to 90W power draw and can dry mops within two hours using hot air. The standard water tank version has a 4L clean water tank, supporting cleaning up to 240m² per refill. The embedded version includes auto detergent dispensing, automatic water refill, and drainage. The dustbin can remain untouched for up to 75 days.

The Mijia 5C, integrated with HyperOS Connect, enables remote scheduling, zone control, and mop settings via Mi Home or XiaoAi, and syncs with Xiaomi smart devices for automation.

Xiaomi includes a patented figure-eight roller brush and dual anti-tangle side brushes to reduce hair clogs. The self-cleaning base handles mop washing, hot air drying, dust collection, and storage. Safety features such as a child lock, OTA updates, and cable management are also included.

Xiaomi says the new edge-mopping system can clean under refrigerators and along furniture edges more effectively. The feature is designed to adapt dynamically to floor surfaces and helps reduce bacteria when used with floor cleaner.

In related news, Xiaomi has recently unveiled the Mijia Gas Water Heater Pro with 99% ion removal and HyperOS, and also launched the Mijia Thermostatic Electric Kettle 3 Pro featuring a 2.0L capacity and 316L stainless steel liner.

MediaTek Dimensity 9500 crosses 4 million+ points in unreleased AnTuTu v11 benchmark

A new leak suggests that MediaTek’s upcoming flagship chip, the Dimensity 9500, could be one of the first processors to break past 400,000 points on the upcoming AnTuTu v11 benchmark.

The info comes from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, who claims that test platforms running the new chip are already showing promising results.

The score isn’t final yet. In fact, AnTuTu v11 itself hasn’t even launched. However, the leak suggests that storage will play a big role in pushing numbers higher.

Better storage, more speed on AnTuTu

According to the tipster, both “blue” and “green” platforms (likely Vivo and Oppo) are experimenting with 1TB 4-lane UFS 4.1 storage and it could add anywhere from 80,000 to 100,000 points on top of the raw CPU and GPU performance. That means a properly equipped Dimensity 9500 device could easily widen the gap over older flagships.

On the technical side, the Dimensity 9500 will stick to ARM’s reference designs rather than going custom. It reportedly features four Cortex-X930 cores (with three clocked slightly lower) and four Cortex-A730 cores, paired with a 12-core Mali-G1 Ultra GPU.

It’s fastest core may reach 4.00GHz mark. That’s still behind Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, which is rumored to hit 4.74GHz with its custom Oryon cores.

MediaTek Dimensity 9500
MediaTek Dimensity 9500

As for Geekbench 6, the Dimensity 9500 scored over 3,900 in single-core and more than 11,000 in multi-core tests. The chip is built on TSMC’s 3nm process and includes support for ARM’s Scalable Matrix Extension (SME), which should improve AI and machine learning tasks.

MediaTek is expected to unveil the Dimensity 9500 on September 22, just a day before Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Several phone manufacturers are expected to announce their respective devices powered by the chip soon after.

TCL Launches Z100 Wireless Speaker System in the US with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect

TCL is stepping beyond the soundbar. The company has announced the Z100 Wireless Home Theater Speaker System, the first product in the United States to ship with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. It marks the beginning of a new category in TCL’s audio portfolio and is designed to work seamlessly with its 2025 premium QD-Mini LED TVs.

TCL Z100 Speaker System

TCL Z100 Speaker System Specs

Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is positioned as the antidote to rigid home theater setups. Instead of forcing users to calibrate around a fixed arrangement, the system automatically adapts to the room layout and speaker placement.

That means speakers can be set virtually anywhere in a space and still deliver optimized Dolby Atmos sound. TCL and Dolby are presenting it as a solution that blends flexibility with immersion, eliminating the usual pain points of home theater calibration.

TCL Z100 Wireless Speaker System

The Z100 speaker design leans on high-end audio components such as large rare-earth NdFeB magnets, silk-dome tweeters, and tightly wound voice coils. Each unit supports a 1.1.1 channel configuration, with dedicated main, bass, and height channels, and delivers up to 170 watts (RMS).

TCL says the system can be expanded to four speakers, with an optional matching wireless subwoofer that integrates seamlessly with TCL’s latest QM8K, QM7K, and QM6K TVs.

It’s a modular approach: start with one or two speakers, add more over time, and let the system automatically recalibrate. That growth-friendly model makes it less intimidating for people who want the depth of Dolby Atmos without committing to a massive setup on day one.

TCL Z100 Speaker System

Pricing and Availability

In the US, the Z100 is priced at $399.99 per speaker. TCL is also offering bundles: the Z100 Duo with two speakers for $799.98, the Z100 Trio+ with two speakers and a subwoofer for $1,299.97, and the Z100 Quartet+ with three speakers and a subwoofer for $1,699.96. All bundles are available through major retailers starting this week.

In related news, Portronics has recently launched the Nebula X 150W wireless party speaker with karaoke mic and RGB lights, while Decathlon has introduced the PS100 Bluetooth speaker featuring a 10-hour battery, IPX7 rating, and a user-replaceable battery.

Portronics Nebula X Specifications

The headline feature is its 150W sound system, which delivers deep, immersive bass and clear vocal playback. Portronics has integrated enhanced Bass Boost Technology to intensify the low-end response, giving each beat more impact. For larger venues or stereo setups, users can pair two Nebula X speakers wirelessly using True Wireless Stereo (TWS) mode.

The speaker includes a bundled wireless microphone, enabling karaoke sessions straight out of the box. It connects without additional setup, turning the speaker into a portable stage for sing-alongs, announcements, or family fun. This makes it a versatile addition for users who value interactive entertainment.

The Nebula X features a matte-black finish and a color-changing RGB LED strip that syncs with the beat. The lighting adds to the party atmosphere, especially in dimly lit environments. Despite its relatively large footprint, the speaker is portable thanks to a built-in handle. It also includes touch-sensitive controls on the sides, allowing playback and settings adjustments without relying on a phone or remote.

The speaker offers multiple input options such as Bluetooth 5.3, USB, and AUX. It charges through a Type-C port for quicker and easier recharging. Its built-in battery provides up to 6 hours of playback, keeping the music going through most parties or evening gatherings.

In related news, Portronics has recently introduced the ToadPlay Mini wireless mouse with sport-inspired designs, along with the ChargeMate Trio, a 3-in-1 wireless charger that comes with a travel utility kit.

Huawei confirms Mate XTs color, storage options, pre-reservations starts today

Huawei is set to launch its second tri-fold, the Mate XTs, in China on September 4. Ahead of the launch, the company today gave us the first official look at the device along with a few more details.

Huawei shared a warm-up video of the foldable starring actress Yang Mi, who showed off a fresh hibiscus purple finish and support for stylus for the first time in a tri-fold. In the clip, Yang Mi shows how the stylus can be used for tasks like annotating files.

Alongside, Huawei also confirmed that the Mate XTs Extraordinary Master will come in four colors, black, red, white, and the newly introduced hibiscus purple.

Storage options range from 16GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, to a massive 16GB+1TB. Huawei has also quietly opened pre-reservations today at CST 10:08 AM.

Mate XTs comes with a familiar design

Design-wise, the Mate XTs has a familiar octagonal lens module on the back. It houses four camera including a main, ultra-wide angle, and a periscope lens similar to original Mate XT. The fourth sensor is supposed to a new red maple primary color camera.

For those unaware, Huawei’s Mate 70 series debuted the Red Maple Primary Color Camera, which is a multispectral sensor that can greatly increase the number of color channels and perceive more colors of light in more bands.

This means that the Red Maple multi-spectral primary color camera can accurately capture the ambient spectrum and provide more realistic color input for the main camera, ultra-wide-angle camera, and telephoto camera,.

Under the hood, the phone is expected to run on Huawei’s Kirin 9020 chip. The processor uses 1+3+4 CPU layout, with a 2.5GHz prime Taishan core, three 2.15GHz mid cores, and four 1.6GHz efficiency cores. Graphics are handled by Maleoon 920 GPU, clocked at 840MHz. The phone will also have satellite communication support.

What to expect from Samsung Galaxy Event on September 4?

Galaxy Event September 2025

Samsung has just announced a Galaxy Event that will take place on September 4. According to the official announcement, the event will showcase the latest AI experiences and several new Galaxy devices.

While Samsung has not explicitly named those devices, it says there will be new premium AI tablets and a new member of the Galaxy S25 series. It doesn’t take long to realize the brand is actually hinting at the Galaxy S25 FE and the Galaxy Tab S11 series that have been in the leaks and rumor mill for a while now.

Both the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Tab S11 series will come with Android 16-based One UI 8 right out of the box. This also means the S25 FE will get the One UI 8 before other Galaxy S25 models, which are currently on One UI 7 and are scheduled to receive a stable One UI 8 update sometime in September.

Another plus point for the Fan Edition model is that it will get an additional major upgrade. So, while the Galaxy S25 FE will receive OS updates all the way up to Android 23, other S25 models will remain stuck on Android 22.

Besides new Galaxy hardware, a significant portion of the Galaxy Event will focus on Galaxy AI. However, it’s unclear whether the brand will unveil new Galaxy AI features or simply highlight the existing Galaxy AI features that are already available on the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7. The latter seems more likely as One UI 8 has already debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and the next major upgrade isn’t coming anytime soon.

You can watch the upcoming Galaxy Event on Samsung.com and the company’s YouTube channel. The live streaming will begin at 3:00 PM IST (11:30 AM CEST / 9:30 AM GMT / 2:30 AM PT) on September 4.

Galaxy S25 FE teaser confirms design, launch date

Samsung has confirmed its next Galaxy Event for September 4, just ahead of IFA 2025 in Berlin. The showcase will stream online at 11:30 AM CEST (3:00 PM IST) on Samsung.com and YouTube. As expected, the teaser hints Galaxy AI will be a big part of the show, though the spotlight is also likely to fall on new hardware.

Galaxy S25 FE teaser

Galaxy S25 FE details

One of the highlights of the event will be the Galaxy S25 FE, which has already surfaced in multiple leaks and certifications. A Google Play Console listing for model number SM-S731B points to an Exynos 2400 chip, 8GB RAM, and an FHD+ display. The phone is also rumored to include a 4,900mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Priced around $649, it would slot in as the “budget flagship” of the S25 family.

The event may also bring the Galaxy Tab S11 lineup, which is said to include an 11-inch base model and a 14.6-inch Ultra version. Samsung is reportedly going with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ processor, an upgrade over the Dimensity 9300+ used in the previous generation.

Both the S25 FE and Tab S11 are expected to ship with Android 16 and One UI 8, slightly ahead of other S25 models that will get the update later. Samsung hasn’t officially named the devices for the event yet, but all signs point toward these two being the stars of the show. With AI also in focus, September 4 should give us a clearer look at how Samsung plans to tie its ecosystem together this fall.

Huawei FreeClip 2 and new compact tablet tipped for September 4 launch

Huawei may be gearing up for a busy September, with reports suggesting the company is preparing to roll out a new version of its ear-clip headphones along with a small but premium tablet. The leaks, coming from familiar tipsters on Weibo, give us an early look at what could be announced alongside the Mate XTs tri-fold phone.

HUAWEI FreeClip

According to leaker @Digital Chat Station, the FreeClip 2 (model T0027) is expected to debut in September. Huawei has separately confirmed it will hold a product launch event on September 4, fueling speculation that the earbuds could be part of the event. The first FreeClip (our review) arrived in December 2023 at 1,299 yuan (~$180), and the follow-up is expected to deliver better sound, improved noise reduction, and faster wireless performance. One big upgrade could be support for Nearlink, a wireless standard that offers significantly higher data transfer speeds than Bluetooth.

The new model is said to keep the unusual “C-bridge” design for comfort, while adding fresh colors like Feather White, Modern Black, and Denim Blue. Another Weibo blogger, @智皮卡楚, also hinted at big gains in noise cancellation this time around.

@Digital Chat Station also mentioned an 8.8-inch “thin and light flagship” tablet that’s close to certification. While details are thin, it’s expected to focus on portability without cutting corners on performance.

Alongside it, Huawei appears to be preparing the MatePad 11.5 (2025). Specs for this model include a 120Hz LCD at 2456×1600 resolution, a Kirin 8020 processor, and a large 10,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging. At just 6.1mm thick and weighing 515g, it looks aimed at students and everyday users, with an expected price around $400. Color options will reportedly include Space Gray, Island Blue, Frost Silver, and Feather Sand Purple.

With the FreeClip 2 taking on rivals like JBL’s Sense Pro and the 8.8-inch tablet positioned as an iPad Mini competitor, Huawei seems intent on expanding its ecosystem with both niche and mainstream devices.

Casio Introduces EDIFICE EFK-100 Automatic Watches in India with Forged Carbon Build

Casio has introduced its first automatic watch lineup in India under the EDIFICE brand with the launch of the EFK-100 series. Five models are now available: EFK-100XPB-1A, EFK-100CD-1A, EFK-100D-2A, EFK-100D-3A, and EFK-100D-7A.

Casio EDIFICE EFK-100 Series

The EFK-100 series marks Casio’s entry into the automatic segment in India. The flagship EFK-100XPB-1A features forged carbon in both the dial and case, while the EFK-100CD-1A uses forged carbon in the dial only. Other models replicate the carbon texture through electroforming techniques. Forged carbon, a composite material used in aerospace and automotive applications, combines strength and lightness with distinctive marbled patterns.

All five models use a mechanical movement with automatic and manual winding options. The watches offer a power reserve of about 40 hours, a mean daily rate of -35 to +45 seconds, and operate at 21,600 vibrations per hour with 24 jewels. Each features a see-through case back that reveals the movement in motion. The hacking seconds hand, date display, and phosphorescent-tipped hour and minute hands are standard across the series.

Casio EDIFICE EFK-100 Series

Design details include hollowed sections on the hands for better visibility, mirror-finished beveled indexes, and a ground-finish dial ring. The EFK-100XPB-1A pairs a forged carbon case with a urethane band, while the remaining models use stainless steel bands with polished and brushed finishes. All watches include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and 10-bar water resistance.

With this launch, Casio extends the EDIFICE line’s association with motorsport-inspired design to mechanical watches, combining advanced materials with a focus on durability and performance. The EFK-100XPB-1A is priced at ₹39,995, while the EFK-100CD-1A, EFK-100D-2A, EFK-100D-3A, and EFK-100D-7A are each priced at ₹25,995. The full lineup is now available across Casio outlets and online platforms in India.

In other news, Casio has also expanded its Katsushika Hokusai collaboration to Europe with two G-Shock models, the DW-5600KHG25-1 and DW-5600KHK25-1. First launched in Japan, they feature designs inspired by “Fine Wind, Clear Morning” and “The Great Wave off Kanagawa.”

Samsung takes a playful jab at Apple in new Galaxy Z Fold 7 ad

Samsung is back with another cheeky swipe at Apple, this time showing off how foldables can pull off tricks that iPhones simply can’t. The ad, posted on Samsung’s official X account on August 27, comes just ahead of Apple’s iPhone 17 launch on September 9 and has already sparked plenty of chatter.

In the 30-second clip, an iPhone user struggles to prop his phone up on a table — maybe to snap a selfie, hop on a video call, or just watch something hands-free. His curious cat makes the task even harder, knocking the device over as he tries to balance it upright. The punchline arrives when a friend casually places a Galaxy Z Fold 7 on the table, folded partway so it stands on its own. The foldable splits the display into two videos running side by side, a multitasking move that no bar-style iPhone can manage. A message flashes on screen: “Can your phone do that?”

Samsung clearly wants to drive home that point. With the Fold 7 and Flip 7, the company is leaning on slimmer designs, Galaxy AI tools, and unique use cases like Flex Mode to keep its foldables feeling futuristic. At $1,999, the Fold 7 remains pricey, but it’s also a reminder that Samsung has been iterating on this form factor for years, while Apple has yet to ship a foldable.

Rumors suggest Apple is working on one — possibly landing in September 2026 — but for now, Samsung seems happy to showcase what sets Galaxy apart. The ad might be playful, but it’s also a clear flex in the middle of the ongoing rivalry.
