Recently, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 moniker was found with model number M2004J19G through its appearance on Xiaomi’s RF Exposure webpage. The M2004J19G model number has been previously spotted at 3C and EEC certification bodies. Now, the smartphone has received approval from the FCC authority in the U.S. The FCC documents of the Redmi 9 has revealed some of its key details.
The FCC listing has revealed that the Redmi 9 will come preinstalled with MIUI 11. The custom skin will be probably over the Android 10 OS.
The rated capacity of Redmi 9’s battery is mentioned as 4,920mAh. This indicates that the phone could be shipping with a battery that has a typical capacity of 5,000mAh. The 3C appearance of the phone had revealed that it could be coming with a 10W charger. If it happens, it will be a downgrade as the predecessor Redmi 8 phone was made available with an 18W fast charger.
The Redmi 8 was equipped with a 6.22-inch display. The display size of the Redmi 9 is not mentioned in its FCC documents. However, it revealed that the phone measures 174mm. This suggests that the Redmi 9 could be equipped with a large-sized display of around 6.6 inches. The FCC documents have also revealed that the phone supports dual-band Wi-Fi and it is a 4G LTE device.
In March, a Xiaomi phone codenamed as Merlin was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. The listing revealed that the phone is powered by Helio G70 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. Speculations have it that the Xiaomi Merlin phone could be the upcoming Redmi 9 handset. Other rumors have revealed that the Redmi 9 will be sporting a quad-camera system on its back.
Redmi is expected to hold a launch event in China later this month. The Redmi 9 series may get announced at the event.
As expected, Xiaomi has today launched its second Wi-Fi 6 router, dubbed as Mi Router AX1800. The launch of this new router from the Chinese company comes just a couple of months after the launch of Mi AIoT Router AX3600.
For this new AX1800 router, Xiaomi has completely changed the design and has adopted the tower-like form factor. Thanks to this new design, it can have more storage space and thus it includes heat sink to keep the temperature in-check.
It also features hidden dual-band high-performance antenna that aims to offer a strong 360-degree signal coverage. Both frequency ranges — 2.4GHz and 5GHz have two Qorvo high-performance independent signal amplifiers which increased signal strength by 4dB which should increase coverage by 50 percent.
The router comes packed with 256MB of RAM and has Mesh Networking support for seamless signal coverage in the house. The Xiaomi Mi Router AX1800 supports connection of up to 128 devices simultaneously.
It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm APQ6000 chipset with dedicated NPU, and comes with support for OFDMA technology (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) which allows the router to send data to multiple terminal devices using only one transmission.
Further, the company says that whenever a new Xiaomi Smart Home devices is connected to the network, it automatically matches the Mi App settings without the need to manually enter a password.
Xiaomi reveals that this new Wi-Fi 6 router comes with built-in Tencent Online Game Accelerator that has been deeply customised for accelerating the online gaming experience on PC and smartphones. The company will be giving away three months of membership for free with the purchase of this router.
The Mi Router AX1800 will be available for pre-sale from 15th May in China via e-commerce platform JD.com, for a deposit of 30 yuan. This newly launched router is priced at 329 yuan (around $46) but will initially be available for 299 yuan which is roughly $42.
Honor is all set to announce the Honor X10 smartphone on May 20. While the company hasn’t released an official confirmation, the rumor mill has claimed it will be also announcing the Honor X10 Pro alongside the vanilla model. The Honor X10 will be replacing the Honor 9X Pro from last year that came with a 6.59-inch notch-less screen. The TENAA listing of the Honor X10 5G has revealed that it will be flaunting a larger notch-less display compared to the predecessor phone. Today, the company revealed that the X10 will support a higher refresh rate and touch sampling rate.
The poster released by Huawei’s sub-brand confirms that the Honor X10 5G’s display will support the 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. A higher refresh rate promises better viewing experience while scrolling, animations, and transitions than the conventional 60Hz display. Higher touch sampling rate means the screen will refresh at a faster rate to register a touch. Hence, it appears that the Honor X10 will be arriving with some gaming capabilities.
According to yesterday’s leak, the Honor X10 Pro is supposed to get a higher 90Hz refresh rate and the standard X10 will use a 60Hz display. But the above image mentions 90Hz for the X10, so it’s possible that the leak wasn’t entirely accurate.
Honor is yet to confirm on the other features of the smartphone. Since the smartphone appeared on TENAA last month, its entire specifications have been revealed. The handset is expected to debut as the cheapest 5G-ready smartphone form the company.
The Honor X10 is expected to come with a 6.63-inch Full HD+ resolution supporting notch-less display. The Kirin 820 5G chipset will be fueling the device. The phone may come with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of built-in storage. The phone will come with a graphene cooling system.
The EMUI based Android 10 OS will run on the device. It may arrive with a 4,200mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. It may possess a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie shooter and a 40-megapixel (Sony IMX600y RYYB) + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera setup on the rear.
Realme confirmed today that it will be unveiling as many as 8 new products on May 25 in China. Minutes after confirming the unveil date, Realme CMO Xu Qi took to Weibo to share an image to showcase the company’s upcoming gaming-focused smartphone.
The handset shown by Xu Qi seems to be equipped with a glass rear. At the top-left corner, the smartphone features a quad camera setup. The overall design of the smartphone’s rear is almost the same as Realme X50 Pro 5G that debuted earlier this year. However, the area adjacent to the phone’s quad-camera has a slightly different appeal compared to the X50 Pro.
The right of the phone has a volume rocker and here is no side-facing fingerprint scanner which indicates that it could be coming with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The bottom edge of the phone has an external speaker, a USB-C port, a microphone, and what appears to be a SIM slot.
Xu Qi revealed that the internal codename of the device is Blade Runner. The gaming-centric handset has a model number of RMX2072, and it was recently seen at AnTuTu and 3C certification platform in China. The AnTuTu listing revealed that the phone is powered by Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, while 3C revealed that its retail package may include a 65W rapid charger.
The exact name of the above-shown smartphone is not known yet. Some have speculated that it could be the Realme X30 Pro. However, it appears to be a gaming edition of the Realme X50 Pro 5G. A trustworthy Chinese tipster has speculated that it could be Realme X50 Pro Gaming Edition.
On May 19, Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO will take off covers from the iQOO Z1 smartphone. The major highlight of the smartphone is that it will be equipped with the recently unveiled Dimensity 1000+ flagship chipset. Today, the Chinese shared the renders of the iQOO Z1 to reveal its rear design.
As can be seen in the new renders, the iQOO Z1 will be available in at least two color variants. The images show that the smartphone is fitted with a rectangle-shaped camera housing at the top-left corner of its back panel. It houses an LED flash and three cameras. The right edge of the device has a volume rocker and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The rear appearance of the device resembles the iQOO Neo3 phone that went official last month.
The actual renders of the front side of the iQOO Z1 are yet to be revealed. However, the launch date poster and leaked images of the Z1 that appeared earlier this week has revealed that it will be sporting a display with a punch-hole at its top-right corner.
iQOO has confirmed that the iQOO Z1 screen will support a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. The leaked image of the phone revealed that it will provide users to switch between refresh rate options like 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz. The Vivo V1986A phone that was recently certified by the 3C authority of China revealed that it could be arriving with a 44W fast charger. It is speculated that the Vivo V1986A model number belongs to the iQOO Z1 phone.

Vivo has a new Y-series waiting to go official. A Chinese tipster has revealed that a Vivo phone that has a model number of V2002 will be debuting in China as Vivo Y70s. What’s interesting about the smartphone is that it could be launching as the first smartphone powered by the upcoming Exynos 880 5G chipset.
Samsung is yet to announce the Exynos 880 5G chipset. However, the tipster has revealed that the SoC has two cores of Cortex-A77 working at 2.0GHz and six cores of Cortex-A55 clocking at 1.79 GHz. For graphics, the SoC has Mali-G76 GPU. The tipster claims that the performance of the Exynos 880 could be like the Snapdragon 765G SoC. The SoC seems to be weaker than the Exynos 980 5G that fuels the likes of Vivo X30, X30 Pro, and Vivo S6.
Recently, the Vivo V2002 smartphone received approval from the 3C regulatory body of China. The 3C listing revealed that the phone may ship with an 18W fast charger. A variant of the same phone with model number V2002A has been benchmarked on Geekbench 5.
The V2002A Geekbench listing has revealed that it is fueled by the unannounced Exynos 880 chipset that has a base frequency of 1.79 GHz The SoC is coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The handset is loaded with Android 10. In the single-core test, it recorded a score of 641 and it scored 1814 in the multi-core test. The other devices that will be unleashed alongside could be accessory products. The Realme TV may also get announced at the same event.

A few days ago, it was reported that Samsung is developing a cheaper version of the Galaxy Fold. More details with respect to the specs of the phone, which is referred to as the Galaxy Fold Lite a.k.a. Galaxy Fold E, have surfaced.
According to Max Weinbach of XDA-Developers, the Galaxy Fold Lite 4G codenamed “Winner2” will have 256GB of storage, and a Snapdragon 865 processor. There is no 5G support as you can see from the name of the device. There is also no mention of the RAM but we expect it to come with 8GB or 12GB.
The Galaxy Fold Lite will have a flexible display with no UTG. This means the screen is covered in plastic. The outer display will be smaller with a size similar to the outer display of the Galaxy Z Flip.
-Available internationally -No 5G support -Snapdragon 865 -Built out of Aluminium and Glass on outside -$1099 -Winner2
This could change as this info tends to change quickly, especially when it's the first you're hearing about a device.
This device will have a mix of aluminum and glass on the outside. It is also said to feature a mix of 2018, 2019, and 2020 specifications. The Galaxy Fold Lite will come in Mirror Black and Mirror Purple, have a price tag of $1099, and be available globally.
Max said in another tweet that the specs are unconfirmed and more of a rumor and that the specs may change quickly. So the phone may launch with different specifications.
It is unknown when the device will launch but our guess is there are still a few months of waiting to be done before it finally launches.
Last week, the Redmi 10X reportedly made an appearance on Google Play Console revealing some of the specs and its codename. A Xiaomi model listed as Xiaomi M2003J15SC and suspected to be the Redmi 10X has made an appearance on GeekBench.
The model appeared on the database on May 11 and is listed to run o Android 10 operating system. It also features an octa-core MediaTek MT6769Z processor which is likely the Helio G70 listed earlier in the Google Play Console listing.
This listing again reaffirms speculations that the Redmi 10X is just a renamed Redmi Note 9 for the Chinese market. The Redmi Note 9 appeared on GeekBench back in March with the same Xiaomi Merlin codename and a MediaTek MT6769V processor. The GeekBench score is also similar to this new model. The twist is that the Redmi Note 9 was launched with an Helio G85 chipset. Thus, we can’t be so sure about an Helio G70 SoC on the Chinese version.
Apple products are popular in China so it is usually not surprising that it is the phone of choice of ost Chinese elites. But what should be surprising is when that elite happens to be the CEO of a major phone manufacturing firm in China. Xiaomi‘s CEO Lei Jun was recently caught by netizens on Weibo when he was caught using an iPhone.
Weibo usually detects the smartphone from which a post is made and in the past, that has been a way of knowing an unreleased smartphone is in the works when an exec posts a message using the unreleased phone. So, Lei Jun shared a post encouraging fans to buy a few books which shouldn’t generate any controversy. But it turned out the Xiaomi founder posted the message from an iPhone. The incident generated an uproar as most fans expressed their views about the discovery.
Lei Jun seems to have deleted the post but Xiaomi partner Pan Jiutang spoke in defense of Lei. He described as hypocritical any claim by the owner or product manager of a mobile phone brand not to have tried Apple, Samsung, or other phones from competing brands. He also disclosed that innovations are sometimes copied and then improved upon. That isn’t far from the truth as Huawei founder has said before that he admires the Apple ecosystem. Even Realme’s CEO was spotted tweeting with an iPhone last year. Li Nan, former Meizu exec was discovered to have switched to an iPhone after leaving Meizu.
In all fairness, Lei Jun is reported to have stated in the past that officials and staffs of Xiaomi are not banned from using competing brands. But some hold the opinion that it is distasteful and disrespectful to fans for the Xiaomi founder to use an iPhone.
Guess we don’t have to wonder anymore why the MIUI interface looks so much like iOS.
Afterthought
The debate has been raging on for years about which phones are the best between Apple iPhones and Android phones regardless of the manufacturer. The rise to prominence of Huawei phones in terms of camera prowess has done little to dissuade Apple fans that their phones don’t necessarily have the best cameras. Interestingly, Chinese phones have posed greater threats to Apple iPhones especially in China which is the world’s second-largest market but there is no doubt many persons still consider the iPhone a superior smartphone. What is your take on this? Is the iPhone really superior to Android phones? Let us know your thought in the comments section.
Do you have to spend a lot of money to get a gaming phone? The short answer is No. The long answer is No… If you do not need the highest performance and frame rate but you just want to play games smoothly and without lags. In 2020, a lot of affordable gaming phones were launched in the market and now the gaming phone niche is not about flagships only anymore. Below, you will find our selection of cheap gaming phones including all the most valid gaming phones launched with an affordable price tag.
Best cheap gaming phones
Realme 6 Pro
Realme 6 Pro is one of the most affordable phones offering a display with a high refresh rate in the global market. Its IPS display with a Full HD+ resolution supports a 90 Hz refresh rate allowing for a smoother gaming experience. Further, the handset comes with the Snapdragon 720G: as the G in the model name suggests, it is a processor meant for gaming with high graphics performance. The SoC is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. Among the other specifications, you get a satisfying 4300 mAh battery with 30W fast charging, a quad rear camera with 2x optical zoom, and an ultrawide dual front camera housed in a punch-hole display.
Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition is an upgraded version of the Redmi K30 5G and it is equipped with the best midrange Qualcomm’s chipset released until now. We are talking about the Snapdragon 768G: an upgrade of the Snapdragon 765G with a higher clock frequency for both the CPU and the GPU. Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition is also one of the most affordable gaming phones supporting 5G connectivity. Thanks to a 5G integrated modem called Snapdragon X55, it supports both sub-6 GHz frequencies and mmWave (SA and NSA). Another amazing gaming-centric feature is the 120 Hz refresh rate for the display. You also get a big 4500 mAh battery and a wide 6.67-inch panel.
If you are looking for the highest performance and you are from a country in which it is available, you should go for the Vivo iQOO Neo3 5G without thinking twice. At a price inferior to €350, you can get all the power of the Snapdragon 865 that is the most powerful flagship-class Qualcomm’s chipset. And you even get the fastest type of internal storage: UFS 3.1. The RAM goes from 6 GB to 12 GB depending on the chosen configuration. Another unbelievable advantage offered by iQOO Neo3 5G is the incredibly high 144 Hz refresh rate, the highest ever seen on a phone. Last but not least, the handset supports 5G connectivity just like every phone fueled by Snapdragon 865 mobile platform.
Honor Play 4T Pro is the most affordable alternative of this selection for those who want to get high performance during gaming sessions. Its strong point is the presence of a Kirin 810 providing similar performances to the Snapdragon 730G by Qualcomm. But it is kinda impossible to find a device powered by Snapdragon 730G under €200, which is the price of the Honor Play 4T Pro. The chipset is paired with 6 GB of RAM in its base variant and 8 GB of RAM in the higher-end configuration. It also packs a fast UFS 2.1 native storage with a capacity of up to 128 GB. Another interesting feature is the OLED display providing brilliant colors, low energy consumption, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Also known as the Redmi K30 5G in China, POCO X2 is the first gaming phone released by Xiaomi’s sub-brand after the famous flagship killer POCO F1. It has exactly the same specifications as the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition we mentioned above, with the exception of the chipset. In this case, you get a slightly less powerful Snapdragon 765G SoC, but still, a gaming chipset providing blazing speed and high GPU performance. Just like the 768G, the chipset includes an integrated 5G modem with the support of all the actual 5G standards. And it is obviously cheaper than Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition.
Nubia Play is a mid-ranger specifically targeted to gamers with an attractive design and an astonishing AMOLED display supporting the highest refresh rate even implemented on a phone: it goes up to 144 Hz. Further, it offers a mammoth 5000 mAh battery for long gaming sessions, supporting 30W fast charging. It is even equipped with touch sensitive gaming triggers. The Nubia Play packs a Snapdragon 765G SoC paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage and it is sold for less than €310.
Black Shark 3 is not exactly the most affordable gaming phone you can get: it is a flagship, but we included it in this selection because its price is not excessive and because the Black Shark 3 also includes a way more expensive Pro variant. With the Black Shark 3, you get a gaming-centric design including triggers and pins for magnetic charging. Thanks to magnetic charging, you can hold your phone comfortably and play in landscape mode even while it is charging. Black Shark 3 sports a great 90 Hz AMOLED display with the HDR10+ certification, it is fueled by Snapdragon 865 mobile platform paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage, and it supports 5G connectivity. It even packs a great 4720 mAh and supports dedicated gaming accessories released by Black Shark.
If you want to get an amazing gaming phone at an affordable price, you can even opt for old-generation flagships. They are not as cheap as most of the gaming phones included in this selection, but they are very nice deals. We recommend Realme X2 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and Redmi K20 Pro. The first twos are equipped with the Snapdragon 855+ chipset and they even come with 90 Hz display, while the third has a Snapdragon 855 and a standard refresh rate, but you can actually find it at very affordable street prices.

Realme X3 and X3 Pro Super Zoom have been in the news for quite some time now. The models have at various times appeared on certification websites and leaks. Realme recently confirmed the imminent launch of the smartphone touted to come with 60x zoom and a new “Starry Mode”. The launch may be just around the corner as the X3 and X30 Super Zoom have now been listed on the company’s support page in India. Also spotted on the page is the Realme TV.
Earlier on, the Realme X50 was also listed on the official Realme India support page but the listing was later removed. That may also be a hint that the X50M will also hit India at some point. The X50M was launched in China last month.
Realme X50m also made an appearance a few days back but the listing was deleted
As for the Realme TV, the first TV from Realme was already confirmed to be introduced in Q2 2020, and it even got BIS certification. Realme CEO also confirmed the existence of the Realme TV and smartwatch which will launch soon. We have no idea when that will happen and there is no word yet from the company. We’ll keep you posted when more information emerges.
If you thought Redmi was done with product launches this month after announcing the Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition yesterday, you are in for a surprise. A report says the Xiaomi-owned company may have a product announcement scheduled for the end of the month for a bunch of products including three computers and a new smartphone.
According to the source, registration pages for three new RedmiBook PCs are already listed on JD.com. The three computers are the RedmiBook 13 Ryzen Edition, the 2nd-gen RedmiBook 14 Ryzen Edition, and the RedmiBook 16 Ryzen Edition.
The reservation pages have a countdown timer that currently reads 13 days remaining. This means the notebooks should launch by May 25.
The notebooks are not the only expected devices to launch on that day. Lu Weibing teased earlier today that the Dimensity 800-powered Redmi phone will launch soon. This may be the smartphone that will launch alongside the aforementioned notebooks.
There are other Redmi phones expected to launch too such as the Redmi K30i and the Redmi 10x 4G. If there will be a launch, we expect teasers to start pouring in next week.
Honor X10 will be announced next week on May 20. Ahead of it, the brand has started teasing the features on Weibo. But even before the company could reveal any important aspect of the handset, a Chinese blogger has leaked the press renders as well as the primary specifications of the upcoming Honor X10 and Honor X10 Pro.
Almost all the specifications of standard Honor X10 were already out but this is the first time we are hearing about the Honor X10 Pro. The two models only differ in display refresh rate, camera setup and charging.
Honor X10 and Honor X10 Pro Specifications
According to the leaked spec sheet, both the handsets will be powered by Kirin 820 5G SoC (2.36GHz) paired with Mali-G7 GPU. They will feature a same 16MP pop-up selfie camera and a 4,200mAh battery with support for 22.5W wired charging.
Talking about dissimilarities, although both will sport a 6.63-inch LCD panel, only the Pro will have 90Hz refresh rate. As for cameras, the duo will feature triple camera setup with common 40MP RYYB sensor and 8MP ultra-wide camera. But the third camera on both the handsets is different from each other.
The standard Honor X10 will come with a macro camera, whereas the Honor X10 Pro will feature an 8MP periscope telephoto camera. Additionally, the Pro variant will have OIS (primary sensor) and will support 20W wireless charging.
Going by the specs of the Honor X10 series, it will be probably one of the best mid-range 5G smartphone duos of 2020.
LG may not be a force to reckon with in the smartphone industry but the Korean tech giant sure knows how to manufacture some pretty good phones like the latest LG Velvet. Reports from South Korea says LG has got yet another smartphone in the works.
The phone which the Korean blog ETNews says is codenamed “Wing” is said to have the main display which can swivel sideways to reveal a secondary screen underneath. The main display is a 6.8-inch display while the secondary screen will be a smaller 4-inch screen with a 1:1 aspect ratio. It’s expected to cost a bit more than the new Velvet phone when it arrives later this year.
According to ETNews, the LG Wing dual-screen phone will utilise its second screen for multitasking. For instance, the primary display can be used to view a photo while leaving the second screen open to access editing controls. That sounds a little different from LG’s current dual-screen devices like the G8X and V60 with their secondary screens designed mainly to run two different apps at once.
In addition, the phone is said to feature a Snapdragon 7-series processor with support for 5G jus like the Velvel. It will also sport a triple-rear camera array with a 64-megapixel main sensor.
LG is reportedly planning to release the phone in the second half of this year. The price will reportedly be in the region of 1 million won (around $817).
Speculations ran high recently over the iimpending launch of three new Realme smartphones for European markets. The models touted were the Realme X50 Pro 5G, 6 Pro and Realme 5i. Well, two of the models have now been launched in Italy, signalling their debut in Europe. The models are the Realme X50 Pro 5G and Realme 6 Pro and will be available from May 18th on Realme store and Amazon.
Realme X50 Pro 5G is no doubt the star of the pack as it offers top-end specs including 5G connectivity at an affordable price point. Realme and Vivo, the two brands of BBK Electronics will be soon releasing new smartphones. The former’s device could be its first-ever gaming smartphone. On the other hand, the latter will be debuting mid-range 5G-enabled handsets.
All these three smartphones have been spotted on China’s 3C certification portal. But unlike TENAA, 3C only exposes model numbers and maximum charging speed of devices. Hence, it is the case with these mysterious phones.
Realme Gaming Smartphone?
The Realme handset bears the model number RMX2072 with support for 5G connectivity. It will ship with VCA7GACH 65W (10V DC, 6.5A Max) fast charger. In other words, this Realme phone will come with SuperDart (aka Oppo SuperVOOC 2.0) charging adaptor just like the brand’s second flagship smartphone, the Realme X50 Pro 5G.
That’s all the information the listing of this phone on 3C mentions. We are not sure why MySmartPrice is calling RMX2072 as Realme’s gaming smartphone without any proof. But it is worth noting that there are rumours of such a device.
Vivo Mid-range 5G Smartphones
Unlike the previous device, these Vivo handsets will be mid-rangers with 5G connectivity. They could be placed above and below Vivo S6 5G going by their maximum charging speeds.
The Vivo V2001A will ship with V3330L0A0 (Vivo FlashCharge 2.0) 33W (11V DC, 3A Max) fast charger. On the other hand, the Vivo V2002A will come with V1820B 18W (9V DC, 2A Max) fast charger suggesting it to be a cheaper model than the former.
There are no further details available about these two handsets. They will certainly leak more before going official.
Like any other smartphone these days, all these three smartphones will be soon spotted on a couple of more certification portal revealing their entire specifications. Even the brands itself will start teasing the features officially ahead of the launch.
