Huawei is expected to hold an online event on February 24 where the company is tipped to officially unveil the Huawei Mobile Service. The company is also expected to launch the Honor V30 for the European market. When this happens, the Honor V30 will become the first Huawei model that would be sold in Europe equipped with HMS services.
Huawei launched the HMS in China to take on the GMS ( Google Mobile Services) which a recent US trade ban prevents it from using. As a result of the fact that apps released on Android phones outside China rely heavily on GMS, and even many mobile phones that do not support GMS cannot be used normally. Therefore, it is necessary for Huawei to quickly build its own HMS and form its own ecosystem. Huawei Mobile Service offers a bunch of basic applications for a smartphone which includes the likes of phone, SMS, email, among others.
Huawei is hoping to leverage the outstanding features of the V30 to push its sales in Europe. The phone is the first 5G mobile phone under the Honor brand. Since its release, it has been highly sought after by consumers. The V30 is equipped with Kirin 990 series processors, and the entire series supports 5G. Not only does it support NSA / SA dual-mode network, but it also supports the six 5G bands n1 / n3 / n41 / n77 / n78 / n79.
The high-end Honor V30 Pro uses a breakthrough matrix camera design and a rear 40-megapixel main camera in a triple cam arrangement. In addition to the main camera, it also includes a 12-megapixel ultrawide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. This independent film lens uses a four-in-one equivalent of 2.8 μm and a large photosensitive pixel that supports 109 ° ultra-wide-angle photography. It can bring a wider field of view when shooting and can enhance the sense of depth and space in the picture.
It remains to be seen if the amazing features and price can sway buyers in Europe to go for a phone without Google services.
The update description of the MIUI 11 version 20.2.17 closed beta development version for some models has been released by Xiaomi. According to an announcement on the MIUI forum, due to the late resumption of work after the Spring festival caused by the epidemic, only some models were included this week. As time goes on, other eligible models will be added. Specifically, only the Redmi K30, Redmi K30 5G, and Xiaomi Mi 10 are being tested.
Already, some users of the Mi 10 have reportedly received the MIUI 11 20.2.17 development beta update. The update is said to bring some new features and bug fixes. These include fixing the battery style problem of the super power-saving status bar, setting the default dial function for each contact, adding a clock management function, optimizing the weather to add city flow, and more.
Xiaomi Mi 10
Xiaomi had earlier revealed the MIUI 11 development plan for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro mobile phones when they were announced last week. According to Zhang Guoquan, director of the software department, MIUI 11 20.2.17 internal beta testing for Mi 10 will commence on February 17. He also disclosed the Mi 10’s public beta will start rolling on February 21. On the other hand, the Mi 10 Pro closed beta testing is tentatively scheduled for February 24 beta and while the open beta update will start rolling out on February 28. However, the schedule may be affected by the prevailing coronavirus epidemic.
Samsung launched its latest flagship lineup a few years ago: the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. This year it is composed of three variants: Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. But there is something to note: for people looking for the best Samsung flagship, these three devices are not an obvious choice. For several people, it may be better to go for another Samsung flagship: the Galaxy Note 10+, and not because of its more affordable price. Given that the Note series includes the only smartphones with the S Pen, in this post, we compared the Samsung Galaxy S20+ to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ in order to let everyone understand which one is the best for their needs and which compromises you should face if you go for an older flagship such as the Note 10+.
Whether you should prefer the design of the Samsung Galaxy S20+ or the Galaxy Note 10+ is up to your tastes. The former is more compact due to its smaller display with a taller aspect ratio, but the latter, in my opinion, comes with a less ugly and invasive camera bump on the rear side. In both cases, you get a punch-hole display with a single front camera at its center, but only the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ supports the S Pen for handwriting and drawing with thousands of pressure levels. A very interesting feature for professionals. Both are waterproof with the IP68 certification and both are protected by Gorilla Glass 6 front and back.
Display
Despite Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ has a wider panel and supports the S Pen, Samsung Galaxy S20+ has a more advanced display in terms of image quality. It is a more recent panel and it supports a 120 Hz refresh rate in case you decide to opt for the Full HD resolution (the resolution goes up to Quad HD+). But the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ still comes with one of the most amazing displays out there, so you should not worry so much about the image quality and focus on other aspects of their specs sheets.
Specs & Software
Samsung Galaxy S20+ is fueled by the Snapdragon 865 chipset in the U.S. version and Exynos 990 in the European version, while Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is powered by either a Snapdragon 855 or an Exynos 9825. In both cases, you get 12 GB of RAM and UFS 3.0 internal storage, but Samsung Galaxy S20+ provides better performance thanks to its superior chipsets. Also note that Samsung Galaxy S20+ has a better 5G integrated modem, while Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ sports a single mode modem which is not integrated into the chipset. So the Note 10+ has higher energy consumption and inferior connectivity when it comes to 5G. Note that you should buy the 5G variant of each handset to get 5G since their vanilla versions only come with 4G.
Camera
On the paper, Samsung Galaxy S20+ has a superior camera. It is composed of a 12 MP main sensor with OIS, a telephoto lens with 3x hybrid optical zoom and a 64 MP resolution, an ultrawide sensor and a TOF camera. You should get way higher detail and way better zoom capabilities with the Samsung Galaxy S20+, despite it is not the most advanced variant of the S20 lineup.
On the battery side, Samsung Galaxy S20+ should win again since it packs a bigger 4500 mAh unit. But the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is able to provide faster charging speeds thanks to a power up to 45W. Wireless charging and reverse wireless charging have the same powers.
Price
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ starts from €1129/$1099, but you can currently find it for less than €950/$950 thanks to online street prices. Samsung Galaxy S20+ starts from €1029/$1199. If we exclude the S Pen and wired charging speeds, Samsung Galaxy S20+ is a better device under almost every aspect: it has a more advanced display, a more advanced 5G connectivity, cameras, and a bigger battery. So if you do not need the S Pen, it is worth opting for the Galaxy S20+.
Samsung Galaxy S20+ vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10+: PRO and CONS
Samsung is facing a new lawsuit pertaining to the use of its Quantum dot display tech. The lawsuit, filed by the British nanotechnology company, Nanoco, alleges that Samsung and its affiliates have infringed on its patents relating to Quantum Dots, the technology behind the company’s popular QLED TVs. Reuters reports that Nanoco is looking to obtain a permanent injunction against Samsung as it has “willfully infringed the company’s patents and seeks a permanent injunction from further acts of infringement and significant monetary damages.”
“Historically the group worked collaboratively with Samsung on developing enhanced quantum dots based on our unique and patented CFQD Quantum Dot technology and associated IP,” said Nanoco’s Chairman Christopher Richards. “We were therefore naturally disappointed when Samsung ended the collaboration and launched its QD [Quantum Dot] based televisions without entering into either a licensing or supply agreement with Nanoco.”
QLEDs form a very important part of Samsung’s TV market. Samsung reportedly sold over 5.9 million QLED TVs in 2019 alone. So, the lawsuit could turn out to be very expensive for the company, potentially costing millions, if not billions in lost revenue.

Realme has one-upped iQOO in its quest (no pun intended) to launch the first 5G smartphone in India. The manufacturer has announced that the Realme X50 Pro 5G will launch in New Delhi on 24th February. The date is a day earlier than iQOO’s own launch event for the iQOO 3 set for February 25 in China.
The Realme X50 Pro 5G launch will begin at 2:30 PM IST. The phone will also be announced on the same day in Madrid, Spain at 10:00 AM CET which is also 2:30 PM in India. Based on this, it will be a simultaneous launch in both cities.
Get ready to discover the #real5G smartphone, our most ambitious flagship!
India's First 5G smartphone, #realmeX50Pro launching at 2:30 PM, 24th Feb.

The Realme X50 Pro will have a Snapdragon 865 processor and an X55 5G modem. It will also have dual front-facing cameras housed inside a pill-shaped punch hole. The display is a Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate.
Other confirmed features are 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB storage, Android 10, and support for 60W SuperDart fast charge. Realme has also confirmed that the phone will ship with a 65W GaN charger included in the box.
It turns out Huawei won’t be the only one holding an online-only conference on February 24. Its subsidiary, Honor, has also announced that it will have a conference which will be livestreamed on the same day.
The announcement was made on Twitter by the official Honor account. The conference which is tagged the All-Scenario Intelligence Conference will be a livestreamed event that will begin at 18:30 CET (11 PM IST). While Honor did not previously announce an MWC event, it appears they had one planned but didn’t get to announce it before this year’s MWC was canceled.
The image attached to the tweet shows a number of Honor products including a smart security camera, the Honor MagicWatch 2, the Honor V30, the Honor 9X, and Honor 9X Pro, etc.
This will be Honor’s first global event this year and we expect some of the products it has launched in China in the past few months will be announced at the event.
Realme was expected to take the wraps off its latest 5G phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020 before it was cancelled due to coronavirus scare. The company was later reported as planning to hold the launch event in Madrid, Spain but the event will be streamed online. The Chinese company has now confirmed that the smartphone will indeed be launched in Spain on February 24. The event will start at 10 AM CET.
As a reminder, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is said to feature a Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and 20:9 aspect ratio. The display has also been confirmed to come with a 90Hz refresh rate. Realme is yet to reveal the battery capacity of the X50 Pro but whatever size it is, you may likely never run out of battery power as the battery can quickly be refilled in just minutes. That is because it is expected to support 60W SuperDart charger.
The Snapdragon 865 SoC will power the phone with a Snapdragon X55 5G modem that enables dual-mode 5G. Providing the interface is an Android 10-based Realme UI 1.0. The X50 Pro 5G will have 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G launched as the first phone with 16GB RAM. We thought the Mi 10 Pro 5G will also have a 16GB RAM version but it maxes out at 12GB. Today, Ni Fei, President of Nubia Technology Co. Ltd., revealed that the Red Magic 5G will have 16GB of RAM.
In the Weibo post, the company’s top executive said he carried out a poll to find out if 16GB of RAM is necessary on a device. The result of the poll showed people do want 16GB RAM phones. Based on the result, Nubia has decided there will be a 16GB RAM version of their upcoming Red Magic 5G gaming phone.
The Weibo post even includes a screenshot of the device’s About Phone section and it confirms there is a 16GB RAM version and also reveals some other details. It was previously revealed that the phone will have LPDDR5 RAM supplied by Samsung.
The image reveals the upcoming phone has model number NX659J. It runs Redmagic OS version 3.0 based on Android 10 and with January 2020’s security patch.
This version has 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Previous Red Magic phones don’t have storage expansion slots, so don’t expect this to have. However, 512GB of storage would have been better. The image also confirms the Red Magic 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor and has a Snapdragon X55 5G modem.
Other confirmed features include a 144Hz refresh rate, triple rear cameras, WiFi 6, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and a built-in cooling fan.
Earlier today (17th February 2020), the Xiaomi Youpin platform in collaboration with Momoda released an all round massage chair which arrives with an affordable price tag.
The small massage chair is said to be the first in the industry that can be used when in contact with a wall. In other words, it is compact and does not require additional space apart from its physical dimensions to operate effectively. It features a streamlined design with a curved and open armrest in which people of all sizes can comfortably sit or even lay down in.
The affordable massage chair operated with three individual and moving parts that massage the user sitting on it. The movements of these unique parts are synchronized and target the shoulder, neck, back and the lumbar spine of a person. Notably, its movements can be adjusted so family members of different age groups can enjoy the experience as well. The motors are capable of providing three dimensional movements that go up, down, left, right and diagonally.
The seating of the massage chair that is sold on Xiaomi’s Youpin platform is covered with padded surfaces to provide a comfortable experience which also serve the purpose of inflating, similar to an airbag, enabling rhythmic pressure squeezes and releases. One of its notable features is its ability to recreate zero gravity on the human body by adjusting the angle of the back in response to the legs and other limbs. Meaning, it can reduce pressure by evenly distributing the weight across the entire body.
The small massage chair is currently available in Xiaomi Youpin online platform and is offered at a price of 3,999 Yuan which roughly translates to about 572 US Dollars.
Xiaomi took the covers off its long-awaited Mi Note 10 back in November last year. Initially rumored to boast the same specs as the Mi CC9 Pro, the recently unveiled smartphone has gone up for pre-order carrying a lowered price tag through GeekBuying.
The 6GB RAM+128GB ROM Mi Note 10 variant would normally set you back $859.99 on both online, as well as offline stores. As part of its latest snap-up deal, the popular Chinese e-tailer is currently offering the aforesaid model for a reduced pre-sale price of just $ 486.99, which converts to a noteworthy 43 percent off.
Moreover, you can take advantage of the 2% New User Coupon and save more money, provided this is your first order with GeekBuying. Touted as the world’s first smartphone to feature a 108MP Penta camera, the Mi Note 10 comes in an appealing black color option.
The phone’s USP is its impressive photography system that captures high-quality photos and record videos just like a piece of professional photography equipment, providing a professional shooting experience. Its Penta camera setup comprises pixels that reach an astounding resolution of 108 megapixels, proving even mobile phones can house ultra-high-resolution sensors.
Under the hood, the Mi Note 10 packs a powerful Snapdragon 730G processor along with a highly competent Adreno 618 graphics processing unit. It is backed by a robust battery with 5260mAh capacity and 30W fast charging support, which gives you freedom from the hassle of frequent charging.
It features a 6.47 inch AMOLED hyperboloid screen and has an eye-catching curved body, which enables you to view the content on the phone at any angle. As if that weren’t enough, the Mi Note 10 features NFC and infrared remote control and has a new generation optical fingerprint unlock system for added safety.
While you’d normally associate these features with a steeply-priced handset, the Mi Note 10 will be up for pre-order for an unbeatable price through Geekbuying for a limited period. The device is estimated to be delivered in ten days and you can place your pre-order by following this link.

In recent times, technological advancements have been significant in many areas, especially in information and data infrastructures. It is now viable to stream 4K videos and movies at home all in part due to faster data rates and download speeds. Now, the record for the fastest download speeds has been broken after Ericsson said its latest 5G hardware is capable of 4.3Gbps.
According to Ericsson, its latest network infrastructure for 5G has enabled a full hour long 4K video to be transferred in just 14 seconds, which is great news considering this will be available to the general consumers. The company’s engineers in Stockholm have apparently hit a download speed of a whopping 4.3Gbps. This breaks the previously held record which was set by Huawei in October 2019 with a download speed of 3.67Gbps.
Notably, the record breaking download speed is closest anyone has ever gotten to reach 5G networks theoretical 7.5Gbps of peak download speeds capabilities from existing 5G chips. Although an impressive and sizable jump over Huawei, one must know that it is known not a simple and direct comparison of quality between the two. This is due to Ericsson utilizing an 8 millimeter wave frequency ban or 8CC (8 component carrier) with a total of 800Mhz of spectrum.
However, credit where it is due, Ericsson’s 4.3Gbps download speed is still an extremely impressive feat that has been achieved. It also emphasizes on the potential growth of the network in the near future, even replacing fiber. The faster and newer bandwidth also carries implications ahead of just simple video streaming, and even improve other fields like video gaming and augmented and artificial reality as well.
Sharp has announced a new smartphone today in Japan. The AQUOS R5G is its first flagship phone of the year and it comes with a Snapdragon 865 processor under the hood.
AQUOS R5G Design
The AQUOS R5G has a U-shaped notch at the top and another at the bottom where the home button/fingerprint scanner digs into the display. On the back are four cameras arranged vertically in a single housing. The phone comes in blue, white, and a color-shifting variant similar to the Aura Glow variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note10+.
AQUOS R5G Specs
The phone has a 6.5-inch QHD+ (1440 x 3168) IGZO screen. It has Adobe RGB support and a built-in image control technology called Rich Color that automatically adjusts the screen depending on the scene. It also supports Dolby Vision and U-NEXT HDR content.
The Snapdragon 865 processor is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of US 3.1 storage. You also get a storage expansion slot for up to an additional 1TB.
The Sharp AQUOS R5G has four rear cameras. The first is a 12.2MP f/2.7 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and it is followed by a 48MP f/2.9 super wide-angle camera. Next comes the 12MP f/1.7 primary camera and at the bottom is a ToF camera. The front-facing camera is a 16.4MP f/2.0 camera with AQUOS beauty mode.
Sharp says the phone can record 8K videos. The telephoto camera and primary camera have optical image stabilization and there is also electronic image stabilization. There are a number of special features such as AI live story, AI live shutter, and focus playback.
The AQUOS R5G has Bluetooth 5.1 and WiFi 6. It has Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio and you get to enjoy these with the audio jack at the top of the device or via wireless earphones. While the spec sheet doesn’t mention NFC, it most likely has. The phone also has an IP6X rating.
Sharp ships the phone with Android 10 and Adobe Photoshop Express pre-installed.
Sharp AQUOS R5G Price and Availability
The price of the device is still under wraps and so also are details regarding availability.
This new render also focuses on the display of the watch which is covered with 3D curved glass. The curved display gives the watch a premium look and is expected to be the trend for smartwatches.
Unlike the first render that has a gold frame and rubber/silicone straps, this has a silver/gray frame and black leather straps. Now, we are sure the watch will come in at least two color variants.
When the image is brightened, the side buttons on the frame becomes visible. We are yet to know the functions of these two buttons.
It was reported earlier that the OPPO Smartwatch will be able to perform an ECG/EKG but the source later deleted the post. We are not sure what to make of that but it is better not to get your hopes high.
The OPPO Smartwatch still has no launch date but we won’t put it past OPPO to announce it alongside the Find X2 flagship. The flagship was originally scheduled to launch at MWC next week but has now been shifted to March 2020 since MWC will no longer hold this year.
After the recent epidemic caused by the Coronavirus outbreak, OEMs have been offering special incentives to its customers. One of which is the extension of warranties that brands like Apple and Oppo are offering in the country. Now, iQOO is following a similar plan and has also launched an extended warranty service.
Feng Yufei, the Vice President of the iQOO, a subsidiary of Vivo, shared the news regarding the warranty extension online. The senior executive took to Weibo, the Chinese microblogging website, to announce that iQOO is extending the warranty by 90 days. In other words, if iQOO users’ smartphones expire before 31st March 2020, then the warranty will be extended by 90 days.
Furthermore, the company will provide after-sales services for this and also offer two way shipping for free pick up/delivery alongside free repairs as well. These repairs will also have official technicians disinfect the device before the return of the customer’s smartphones, which is being done to avoid the further spreading of the Coronavirus.
For those unaware, a new breed of Coronavirus had originated from the Wuhan city in China and has since caused upwards of 1,500 deaths with more infected in the country as well as overseas. Symptoms of the infection are quite similar to a common cold with fever being a common sign, while the virus is also known to cause pneumonia in its victims.
Vivo iQOO 3 5G
Thus, the offer from iQOO is great news for the users of its brand in the Southeast Asian country. The disinfection of handsets prevents any more cases of infection while the free pick up/delivery scheme alongside the additional 90 days of warranty is a great offering.
Huawei has officially confirmed that it will keep a virtual press conference in Barcelona, Spain on Feb. 24 at 3 PM CET. This makes it the first company to officially confirm an event in Barcelona after GSMA canceled MWC 2020. The company is calling it a virtual press conference because it will screen a pre-recorded keynote at the event in Barcelona, followed by a demo experience on-site.
Huawei’s MWC teaser
In addition to this, Gizmochina has learned that Huawei will announce its new Foldable smartphone at the event. We can confirm that this won’t be the Huawei Mate X foldable that was announced last year. So, it’s a brand new foldable model that will be launched and showcased at the event in Barcelona. The company also plans to announce a few other consumer tech products at the same event.
Unfortunately, we are not sure of the identity of the new foldable. It could be the Huawei Mate XS model that was mentioned in 2019. Huawei’s CEO, Richard Yu had confirmed last year that the Mate XS will feature a better processor (Kirin 990 5G), an improved display and an upgraded hinge mechanism. The Mate XS is also expected to feature some changes in its design that’ll make it more compact and durable.
Honor also has an event in Barcelona on the same day at 18:30 CEST.
Samsung recently unveiled its latest Galaxy S-series flagship smartphones, including Galaxy S20, S20 Pus, and S20 Ultra. While the company obviously has high expectations from these models, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo isn’t much convinced.
As per his estimated, the South Korean giant will manage to sell about 32 million units of the Galaxy S20 series smartphones in this year, which compared to the previous-generation models isn’t much.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
Kuo adds that Samsung sold around 36-38 million Galaxy S10 models last year. He states that there’s a lack of significant innovation in user experience for the latest handsets, despite the massive hardware upgrades.
Since Samsung has already introduced a price cut for the Galaxy S10 series, which now starts at $599, the company won’t suffer in terms of revenue. The loss revenue because of the new Galaxy S20 lineup will be made up by the previous-generation models with this new price cut.
Interestingly, the report from Ming-Chi Kuo contradicts what Counterpoint Research predicted in its report. The research firm said that the newly launched Galaxy S20 will outsell its predecessor.
The pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series starts at $1000 in the United States, higher than the $700 starting price of Apple iPhone 11. While the S20 Plus and S20 Ultra $1200 and $1400, the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max starts at $1000 and $1100 respectively.
Meizu may not be in-demand as much as its rival smartphone brands in the market but the company has penchant to deliver amazing and spectacular smartphone designs, especially on its flagship series and the same is expected for Meizu 17th.
The company is expected to launch its next-generation flagship smartphone Meizu 17th this year with the notch-less design and trimmed bezels. Now, a new render of the smartphone has been leaked online, showcasing the front side of the device.
However, contrary to the reports and previous leaks, this new leak shows the Meizu 17th having a punch-hole right in the top-center of the display for housing the front-facing camera. However, the bezels surrounding the display are quite thin.
There’s a possibility that the Meizu 17th will come with a punch-hole display while the Plus variant of the same will have a notch-less full-screen design, similar to the one shown in the earlier leak.
The upcoming flagship series from Meizu is expected to come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset along with up to 512GB of storage onboard. It will have triple-camera setup on the back consisting of 100MP + 20MP + 20MP camera sensors. We expect to know more about the Meizu 17th series smartphones in the coming weeks.
The update has been long since overdue as the company has been slower with its update and patch cycles in recent weeks. Its new software rollout not only adds the much anticipated feature but also updates the security patch from the November 2019 version to the January 2020 patch version. The new VoWi-Fi calling support on Jio SIM cards will enable a large demographic of Indian OnePlus owners to utilize this feature since the telecom operator has been extremely successful in the country.
OnePlus 7T (left) and OnePlus 7T Pro (right)
So far, only Bharti Airtel SIM cards had supported the Wi-Fi calling support but the three newer smartphone models of 2019 are also bringing compatibility for Jio. Thus, older models like the OnePlus 6 series which currently only support Airtel VoWi-Fi should soon also receive the update for Jio support as well, although that has yet to be confirmed.
The new update is the OxygenOS 10.3.1 for the three handsets and also brings other improvements like optimized RAM management and certain system stability fixes and addressed the general bugs. Furthermore, it also brings Cloud synchronization with Notes and Contacts and a bunch of other minor quality of life improvements, especially with the notifications system.
OnePlus 7 Pro
Unfortunately, OnePlus 7T owners would have to wait a bit longer as the device has skipped this update cycle. Meaning, the device will still run the November 2019 security patch as well but the company did mention the reason for the delays. Reportedly, the recent Coronavirus outbreak in China has hampered some of its operations and the company has since dedicated OxygenOS team at its Hyderabad, India, R&D center to address the delay in the update.
After teasing a new audio product last week, Xiaomi has officially announced its new Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker in India today. The new speaker is targeted at users looking for a compact and portable Bluetooth speaker that can last for a long time. Despite its compact form factor, the speaker boasts of a 2000mAh battery that promises up to 20 hours of music playback.
The Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker comes with a fabric finish on the outside, similar to what we’ve seen on smart speakers like Amazon Echo and the Google Home Mini. Since its meant for outdoors, its rated IPX5 which makes it’s safe for your pool parties. Note that it comes with a 5W speaker which is decent for its compact size. But it is not suitable for playing music in a large space.
The Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker supports both Android and iOS devices and is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0. It features an in-built microphone which means you can answer calls on the speaker too. The play/ pause button and volume buttons are located on the two sides of the speaker. It also comes with a MicroUSB port (which is pretty unfortunate) and an AUX port. You can also access the voice assistant on your phone via the speaker.
The Mi Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker should have been ideally called as a Mi Travel Bluetooth speaker because of its portable form factor and super-long battery life. The 5W output and 20 hours of battery life make it a handy speaker for your travels but it’s not powerful enough to play music outdoors. The speaker is priced at Rs. 1,399 (~$20) and is available on Mi.com.
