Gionee M11 (20190620G) and Gionee M11s (20190619G) full specs revealed by TENAA

Yesterday, we reported that Gionee is back as they announced two new smartphones called the Gionee M11 and Gionee M11s on WeChat. The Chinese smartphone maker seems to have put an end to its financial troubles and is ready to take on its competitors again. There was a partial TENAA listing of the two devices yesterday, but today, TENAA has published the full specs of both phones.

Going by Gionee’s previous models which come in standard and “s” variants, we believe the Gionee 20190620G is the Gionee M11 while the Gionee 20190619G is the Gionee M11s. The “s” model usually has the better specs just as in the case of the Gionee S11 and Gionee S11s.

Gionee 20190620G (Gionee M11)

The Gionee M11 (20190620G) has a 6.217-inch display with a 720 x 1520 resolution. There is a camera in the middle of the upper part of the display which is housed in a notch.

The phone is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor most likely supplied by MediaTek. There will be three variants – 3GB RAM + 64GB, 4GB RAM + 64GB, and 6GB RAM + 128GB and all will support storage expansion.

There are dual cameras on the back and TENAA says the sensors are a 16MP primary camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor. Based on the listing, it appears the 2MP sensor is interpolated to 5MP or maybe some variants have a 5MP secondary sensor. The front camera is a 5MP sensor which seems to be 8MP on some variants or interpolated to 8MP. The phone has a fingerprint sensor on the back.

The Gionee M11 packs a 5000mAh battery which has become pretty popular on a lot more phones this year. Unfortunately, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone will be available in Black, Gradient Blue, and Gradient Purple (above). It weighs 180 grams and measures 157.6 x 76.4 x 9.4 millimeters.

Gionee 20190619G (Gionee M11s)

The Gionee M11s (20190619G) comes with a slightly bigger 6.3-inch display with a Full HD (2340 x 1080) resolution. It is also powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM and 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of expandable storage.

There are dual cameras on the rear side of the phone along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The listing states two configurations 16MP + 5MP or 20MP + 8MP. The front camera also has two configurations – 13MP or 16MP.

Unlike its sibling, it packs a smaller 4000mAh battery but runs Android 9 Pie. It will be available in Dream Blue, Ink Green, and Starry Black. The Gionee M11s weighs 170 grams and measures 160.6 x 75.8 x 8.4 millimeters.

We expect Gionee will make a proper announcement soon and also reveal details about the pricing and availability of both phones.

Honor ASK-AL00x TENAA listing leaks full specifications

An Honor phone with model number ASK-AL00x had appeared on the database of TENAA in the previous month. However, the listing had lacked its images and specifications. Now the Chinese regulatory agency has updated the TENAA listing of the phone. Moreover, the smartphone has also been spotted on other places like 3C, Geekbench and Bluetooth SIG.

The TENAA, 3C, Geekbench and Bluetooth SIG appearance of Honor ASK-AL00x have revealed that it is an upcoming budget phone from the company. The handset measures 159.81 x 76.13 x 8.13mm and it weighs 176 grams. The smartphone is fitted with a 6.39-inch IPS screen with punch-hole design. It supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels.

The mysterious Honor phone is powered by 2.2 GHz octa-core processor. The Geekbench appearance has not revealed the name of the processor that powers the smartphone. However, it has revealed that the base frequency of the processor is 1.71 GHz. The SoC is supported by 6 GB of RAM and it runs on Android 9 Pie OS. It has scored 1522 in the single-core and 5279 in multi-core tests of Geekbench. The Bluetooth SIG appearance of the phone has revealed that it carries support for Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity.

Coming back to the Honor ASK-AL00x TENAA listing, it has been found that the phone may release in China in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants. Also, it could be available in 64 GB and 128 GB storage choices. There is a microSD card slot for more storage on the device. The smartphone is loaded with Android 9 Pie OS.

The Honor ASK-AL00x has a 3,900mAh minimum capacity battery. The 3C listing of the smartphone has revealed that it only supports 10W charging. The fingerprint scanner is missing from the back panel of the device. Probably, it could be porting a side-mounted fingerprint reader. The LED assisted 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera system is positioned at the top-left of the rear shell of the device. Placed on the frontside of the phone is an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The exact identity of the Honor ASK-AL00x is not known yet. Hopefully, newer reports may reveal it soon.

OPPO Vietnam will be soon debuting the OPPO A9 (2020) smartphone. The company has already teased some of the key features of the phone. The same phone seems to be gearing up for a launch in China as it has appeared with full specifications on TENAA.

The PCHM30 / PCHT30 model number belongs to the Chinese edition of the upcoming OPPO A9 (2020) smartphone. Its TENAA appearance has revealed that it has 163.6x 75.6 x 9.1mm dimensions and it weighs 195 grams. It appears that the smartphone will be debut in Black, White and Blue/Purple color options in the home market. The handset is fitted with a 6.5-inch display with waterdrop notch. It carries support for HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels.

The 2.0GHz octa-core processor that powers the OPPO A9 (2020) is the Snapdragon 665 that also powers some other mid-range phones such as Xiaomi Mi CC9e, Xiaomi Mi A3 and Realme 5. The SoC is supported by 8 GB of RAM. It has an internal storage of 128 GB and has support for additional storage through microSD card slot. The phone is loaded with Android 9 Pie OS.

The backside of the OPPO A9 (2020) is flanked with a vertical triple camera system and alongside it is its LED flash and another camera sensor. For snapping selfies, the smartphone possesses a 16-megpixel selfie snapper.

The OPPO A9 (2020) has a massive battery of 5,000mAh capacity. However, its minimum capacity size of 4,880mAh is mentioned on the TENAA listing. TENAA has no mentioning about support for fast charging for the OPPO A9 (2020) smartphone. A rear-mounted fingerpint scanner is also seen on the device.

OPPO Vietnam is yet to confirm the launch date of the OPPO A9 (2020). The TENAA appearance and official teasers from the company suggests that the phone will be made official soon. In Vietnam, it will be releasing in two colors such as Marine Green and Space Purple.

New Vivo NEX 3 5G teaser reveals September 16 launch date

We are eagerly awaiting Vivo’s upcoming NEX 3 5G to arrive. It’s got a slew of interesting features like the waterfall screen with extremely curved edges. It’s got some incredible looking specs between the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor and triple-camera setup. Now we’ve got a teaser that finally reveals a launch date of September 16.

This essentially means that the Vivo NEX 3 5G is just around the corner. We always knew the launch was this month, but we didn’t expect it to be in the middle of the month. We expected to see it sometime near the end. With this, we know a lot about the upcoming device, especially with the leaked specs that popped up on Weibo earlier today.

Ming-Chi Kuo: Huawei market share in China to hit 50% in 2020

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities, predicts in a new research report that Huawei can expect to ship out 230 million devices in 2019, a bit lower than their previous estimates of 260 million. Ming-Chi Kuo also expects Huawei’s mobile phone shipments in 2020 to be similar to 2019 overall when it comes to volume, but the interesting part comes right after that.

The analyst goes on to predict in the report that Huawei’s market share in the Chinese market will increase from 35-40% in 2019 to 45-50% in 2020. This essentially means he expects Huawei to be in control of half of the Chinese market, and that this may just be enough to somewhat offset the declining international sales of the company.

Ming-Chi Kuo goes on to say that Huawei is expected to adopt two strategies in 2020 to reduce the potential recession risk in the international market. First of all, he expects Huawei to make a bigger push towards promoting older devices overseas. According to him, the older devices are already Google certified, so they’ll retain Google apps and Android updates.

The second strategy is attempting to control a bigger share of the Chinese market. As we’ve already pointed out, Ming-Chi Kuo believes Huawei obtaining a bigger market share will keep Huawei safe from declining sales internationally, though those are tall market share numbers if we’ve ever seen them. I’d say it’s optimistic, but we can’t say it’s impossible.

Outside of this, he also predicts that Huawei will ship 100 million 5G smartphones in 2020, and that they’ll beat their competitors in that section of the market. The latest report released by IDC shows that in the second quarter of 2019, Huawei shipped 36.3 million units in the Chinese market, with a market share of 37%, a year-on-year increase of 27%. It is also the only mobile phone company among TOP5 manufacturers as of right now.

The Huawei Mate 30 is the current headlining act from Huawei for IFA 2019, but it’s not all the company has in store. It looks like the Huawei P30 Pro will be getting some new colors at IFA. Previously, Huawei patented two new colors for the smaller Huawei P30 – two dual tone paint jobs, including a new take on the “panda” color scheme.

Several online stores have empty listings for the P30 Pro for in Misty Lavender and Mystic Blue. No images have been uploaded. What we find interesting however is how these two rumored colours match up with the new leaked renders for the Huawei Mate 30. The Misty Lavender colour scheme is especially similar to the soft purple Huawei Mate 30 in the renders.

Alleged OPPO Reno2 5G full specifications leaked on TENAA

In the previous week, OPPO had launched the OPPO Reno2, Reno2Z and Reno2F smartphones in India. The Chinese manufacturer will be holding an unveil event on Sept. 10 to announce Reno2 series of smartphones in China. The regular Reno2 has already appeared on TENAA with its entire specifications. A new phone that has a model number of PCKM70 has surfaced on TENAA with full specifications. It appears to be the 5G version of the Reno2.

The alleged Reno2 5G smartphone weighs 212 grams and it measures 161.8 × 76.6 × 9.5mm. The smartphone is fitted with an AMOLED display with notch-less appeal. The 19.5:9 aspect ratio supporting screen offers full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The screen of the phone is integrated with a fingerprint sensor.

The OPPO PCKM70 is fueled by an octa-core processor that works at 2.96GHz and 8 GB of RAM. It seems to be featuring the 7nm Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform. The handset has a minimum capacity battery of 3,930mAh. Its typical size could be 4,000mAh. The PCKM70 phone was spotted on the database of 3C regulatory platform of China in the previous month. It had revealed that the phone may arrive with support for 20W VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge technology.

The Android 9 Pie OS is loaded on the PCKM70 OPPO phone. The built-in storage of the smartphone is 256 GB and it lacks a microSD card slot. For shooting selfies, it has a frontal snapper of 16-megapixel. There is a possibility that it could be sporting a shark-fin module for the front camera and its LED flash.

There is a quad camera system on the rear side of the phone. The TENAA listing states that it has a main lens of 48-megapixel and it also features a 13-megapixel lens and an 8-megapixel sensor. The information on the fourth lens is not revealed. Also, a careful look at the quad camera system of the phone suggest that it includes a periscope lens. It is speculated that the smartphone will offer 20x hybrid zoom support.

While the rumor mill is speculating the OPPO PCKM70 will be launching as Reno2 5G, it remains to be seen whether the company launches it with a different name. The handset is most likely to go official on Sept. 10 along with Reno2 phone in China.

A new smartphone in the Honor 20 series, dubbed Honor 20S is all set to get launched on 4th September. Now, ahead of the phone’s launch, it has been reported that the phone is leading the benchmark rankings.

When Honor 9X series debuted earlier this year in July powered by Kirin 810 SoC, the Honor 9X Pro was leading the AI benchmark test with a score of 34,495. But now, the upcoming Honor 20S has taken that spot.

Xiong Junjun, Vice President at Huawei for the Honor Business has announced that the upcoming Honor 20S smartphone has scored 35,130 points in the AI Benchmark test for the AI performance, leading the table rankings.

With Honor touting the smartphone as “Beauty of the Night”, we expect the Honor 20S to come with an advanced Night Mode for photography. Recently, the Honor YAL-AL50 / TL50 smartphone that was certified by the TENAA agency in China, which is said to be the Honor 20S. ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia, which is actively launching gaming smartphones, has scheduled a launch event in China on 5th September where the company will launch its yet another gaming phone — Nubia Red Magic 3S.

Ahead of the phone’s launch, the company has been revealing features of the smartphone through teaser posters on Weibo. In the latest development, the company has revealed that the phone will come with support for 3D surround sound. The feature is aimed at enhancing the gaming experience on the device.

Prior to this, the company had revealed that the smartphone will feature display with 90Hz refresh rate and will also offer 4D Vibration feedback for enhanced gaming experience.

Soon after the launch of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core flagship chipset, Nubia had announced that it will soon launch a smartphone powered by the same. Thus, the Red Magic 3S is expected to come packed with SD855+ SoC for the increased performance with this new gaming-centric processor.

The Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core chipset upgrades the CPU and offers a clock speed of 2.96GHz compared to 2.84GHz on SD855. Further, the graphics performance has also been increased by 15 percent.

The device is also expected to pack a large-capacity battery, possibly retain the 5,000mAh capacity battery of the Red Magic 3. As for the design, we expect the company to have an air cooling system and given that the phone is an offshoot of the Red Magic 3, the device is expected to continue with the heat dissipation design.

The Nubia Red Magic 3 features the industry’s first cooling fan inside which doesn’t use any physical bearings and is made out of nanomaterials. The company says that the fan runs at 14K RPM and consumes very little power. It is also supported by a liquid-cooled copper tube to keep the temperature inside cooler.

The OnePlus TV is all set to get launched later this month in India. Ahead of the launch of this new product, the company has already shared few details about the Smart TV. Now, the device has been listed on Amazon India, revealing more details.

The listing reveals that OnePlus TV features a 55-inch 4K QLED display with support for Dolby Vision which brings extraordinary color, contrast, and brightness to the screen. It also reveals that the TV will have 8 speakers with 50W output which is powered by Dolby Atmos sound for cinematic experience.

Recently, some details of the OnePlus TV had leaked online, which reveals that the product is codenamed “Dosa” and packs 2GB of RAM. It is powered by MediaTek MT5670 quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.5GHz and comes with ARM Mali G51 GPU. The resolution is given as 1920 x 1080 but can switch to 4K resolution when required.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau recently confirmed that the TV will run Android TV and not a new operating system made by the company or any of the other operating systems available on smart TVs. But before OnePlus settled for that, there were “several rounds of comparisons” and a “long negotiation process”.

He has also confirmed that the company worked alongside Google to optimize the Android TV user experience and has promised to offer Android TV updates for at least 3 years to its OnePlus TV users.

The decision to launch this Smart TV first in India not only stems from the fact that India is its biggest market but also because the company has already partnered with content providers Nevertheless, it should be announced in Europe, USA and China in October.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A90 5G smartphone. It has arrived as the first 5G phone from the company in its A-series of smartphones. It is not the first 5G phone from the company since it has already launched Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy Note 10 5G premium phones in the past. However, the newly unveiled Galaxy A90 5G from Samsung is a cheaper 5G smartphone compared to the S-series and Note-series 5G phones. The South Korean company has officially confirmed all the specs of the Galaxy A90 5G, but the pricing of the phone is currently under the wraps.

The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution. It offers a tall aspect ratio thanks to the Infinity-U display design. The glass-bodied handset has 164.8 x 76.4 x 8.4mm dimensions and 206 grams weight.

The Snapdragon 855 mobile platform that tags along the X50 modem and RF-Front-End solutions for 5G experience is present under the hood of the device. Sony Xperia 2 Live pictures and official renders outed ahead of IFA 2019 unveiling

There is no data to show how Sony‘s recent Xperia 1 flagship performed in terms of sales but the fact that the company is planning to release a second model just months after the first model may be an indication that the sales were promising. The Japanese tech giant is expected to unveil the Xperia 2 at the IFA 2019 trade show in Berlin this week. Ahead of that, the live pictures and official renders of the Xperia 2 has now been released.

The press renders were leaked by German website WinFuture.de and it shows the flagship-level smartphone from all angles. The smartphone is seen in a Red colour variant. The live pictures of the device also appeared online. The images and renders show the same design which we believe is the final Xperia 2 design.

A triple rear camera setup is seen at the rear which is rumoured to be three 12MP sensors – all manufactured by Sony. The device also comes with an ultra-wide-angle lens and 2x optical zoom. The leaked renders also show a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dedicated camera button, a USB Type-C port, thick bezels on the top and bottom, and a bottom-firing speaker.

The leak claims the upcoming Xperia model may not be called Xperia 2 but could adopt the name Xperia 1 Compact. The device is expected to pack a smaller 6.1-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution of 1080×2520 pixels and the same 21:9 super-tall aspect ratio of the original Sony Xperia 1. The device is tipped to pack a Snapdragon 855 chipset with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. The device also comes with HDR display support.

Honor 20S comes with 10 different Beauty modes for shooting videos

Despite the challenge Huawei is getting from the US government, the company has continued to forge ahead. It hasn’t relented in pushing out new models from both the Huawei and Honor brands. The Honor 20 was launched a couple of months back. The Chinese tech giant is set to release the Honor 20S.

The Honor 20S belongs to the Honor 20 series made up of the Honor 20/20 Pro. The device may not pack a flagship SoC like the duo but there are indications that the Honor 20s will feature a powerful camera setup. The camera has been revealed to come with several optimizations for the selfie shooter as well as the rear camera.

A sample portrait shot by the Honor 20s was shared online. The sample was compared to another shot captured by a second phone. The upcoming Honor phone’s sample is obviously better in terms of brightness and colour separation. The most noteworthy thing is that the light source behind the subject in the right sample is not overexposed, and the brightness and detail of the whole picture are better than that of the second sample.

Although the tipster didn’t indicate which of the two samples were shot by the Honor 20S, we strongly believe it is the better shot.

In addition, Honor released two stunning videos shot by the Honor 20S as it announced that the 20s will bring along ten different beauty modes for video capture. The video teases the device as being good for Vlogging bas it also comes with electronic image stabilization (EIS) technology. The camera will equally come with a super wide-angle lens which can be used to snap pictures and shoot videos.

Renders and specs of Huawei Watch GT 2 leaked, may launch at IFA 2019

Huawei launched the Watch GT smartwatch almost a year ago at an event in London alongside the Mate 20 series. The watch got new variants early this year, and in June, Huawei announced it had shipped 2 million units. A new leak has revealed there will be a successor called the Huawei Watch GT 2 and it may launch very soon.

First reported by Winfuture.de, the Huawei Watch GT 2 is codenamed “Latona” and has the model number LTN-B19. There are a number of design changes such as a slimmer bezel, a larger display, and a thinner frame. It still keeps its masculine look and two hardware buttons on the right side of the frame.

The Huawei Watch GT 2 is also said to have a bigger battery capacity at 445mAh. The original Watch GT boasts a battery life of 2 weeks, so its successor should last longer.

Winfuture reports that the Watch GT 2 still runs Huawei’s Lite OS but there is no info on new features. The watch keeps its heart rate sensor as well as a GPS module. New additions are a speaker and a microphone, hinting at an on-board AI Assistant and or the ability to make calls. There is no info on an LTE modem, so we can’t confirm the latter.

The renders show the Huawei Watch GT 2 in two variants – a classic version with brown leather straps and a silver frame, and a sports version with black rubber straps and a black frame.

The Watch GT 2 is expected to be announced at IFA 2019 or alongside the Mate 30 series later this month. If history repeats itself, the successor to the Honor Watch Magic should share design and features with the Huawei Watch GT 2.

The market is full of portable chargers and it might be hard to choose one. I’ve been looking for a compact and travel-friendly charger that would have good charging speeds and the one made by Xcentz is a great option.

The powerbank ships in a plain white box and inside of it, you get some paperwork and two cables: one with USB-C connectors at both ends and another with the USB-C to USB-A cable.

DESIGN and FEATURES

The very first thing you are going to notice is the size. Honestly, it’s hard to believe that Xcentz managed to squeeze in a 10000mAh battery in such a small package. It’s worth noting that this powerbank uses high-quality LG 21700 battery cells meaning they will last you a long time. The company claims that the device can withstand 500 charge/recharge cycles and still hold over 90% of juice, which is really impressive.

On the front, we have LED lights that indicate the capacity left in the battery. We also have the power switch.

On the top, there is the USB-C port with the PD support. That means it’s capable of providing 18w of power output for fast charging of your devices.

I’ve tested fast charging feature with quite a few devices including the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and it works fine.

On the bottom, there is the USB-A port that supports Quick Charge 3.0.

The overall design and build are really nice. The device is well-constructed and it has a rubberized plastic finish that is nice to the touch.

The overall performance of the power bank has been really good. We never had any issues charging other devices and this might be the best performing compact powerbank we’ve tested in recent memory.

CONCLUSIONS

Even though there are plenty of options out there, the Xcentz 10000mAh is one of our favorites thanks to its ridiculously compact design meaning the device is perfect for traveling.

In addition, the USB-C with 18W PD and QC 3.0 technologies make the Xcentz powerbank a really compelling option.

Overall, the Xcentz powerbank is a very solid 10000mAh powerbank that we can easily recommend for travelers or anyone who likes a decent amount of juice in a compact package.

Samsung Galaxy M30s gets a launch date

The Galaxy M30 is getting a refresh seven months after it was announced. The new phone will be called the Galaxy M30s and it will pack an even bigger battery than the M30. It has now been revealed that the M30s will be launching on September 18 in India.

A microsite is now live in addition to a teaser page on Amazon India and they both confirm some features of the phone while teasing others.

First, the phone will be exclusive to Amazon India and will be announced on September 18 at 12 noon. The page confirms the phone has an Infinity-U Super AMOLED display, triple rear cameras, and a massive 6000mAh battery.

The Galaxy M30s sports an unusual rear camera design. The cameras share a large rectangular housing that can actually fit five sensors and the LED flash but only houses three sensors. There is also a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone.

Samsung teases that the phone has a “_8 MP triple camera”. It is a no brainer that the missing figure is a 4 which means the Galaxy M30s has a 48MP primary sensor. This is an upgrade over the Galaxy M30 which has a 13MP primary rear camera.

The product page says the phone will also have a new powerful processor. A benchmark result of the device revealed the phone is powered by an Exynos 9610 processor but there are reports it is a new processor called the Exynos 9611 which Geekbench incorrectly identifies as the Exynos 9610. Plus the Exynos 9610 is not a new processor, so it isn’t the one powering the Galaxy M30s.

Huawei launches Ark Compiler’s official website promoting HarmonyOS

Huawei introduced Ark Compiler earlier this year with the aim to improve app rendering speed. The Ark Compiler is a new way to efficiently process the app compilation by directly executing the machine code/binary code into source code. It replaces Android’s default ART compiler and helps to render apps more fastly by removing three additional frameworks.

After a year of its commercial launch, Huawei has finally introduced its official website to promote the company’s own HarmonyOS. It allows users to download and access the source code. Huawei aims to share and want to grow the compiler together with the developers. It is a way towards industrial innovation and to build an open ecosystem.

Huawei developed the new compiler to overcome the sluggish app response on their smartphones. To make it more compelling, the company has recently released its source code by branding it as open source. It removes various additional frameworks and reduces the work for the processor to convert the machine code to the system language. It has several advantages over the Ark Compiler like the lightweight runtime, software, and hardware coordination, and multi-platform support.

Ark Compiler is a bridge between the Huawei’s HarmonyOS and the Android ecosystem. The developers can easily extend support Android Apps support for HarmononyOS within a span of two days via Ark Compiler.

Additionally, Huawei is testing HarmonyOS based Mate 20 lite smartphone.
