The Redmi Y3 will be announced on Wednesday in India. Redmi has already confirmed some of its key features but the processor powering the device remained a mystery. Just a few days to its release, the device has been spotted on Geekbench.
The phone was benchmarked earlier today as the “Xiaomi Redmi Y3”. It runs Android 9 Pie and has 3GB of RAM. However, its processor is listed as the “msm8953” which is also known as the Snapdragon 625.
Don’t fret, the Redmi Y3 isn’t using the same chipset as its predecessor. It is actually powered by the Snapdragon 632 just like the Redmi 7.
Geekbench is known to wrongly identify the Snapdragon 632 as the msm8953. It happened with the Moto G7 Play which actually launched with the Snapdragon 632 and not Snapdragon 625. Also, those scores are higher than those of phones powered by the Snapdragon 625.
The Redmi Y3 will have a 32MP selfie camera, a 4,000mAh battery, and a splashproof coating. It will be available in black, blue, and pink. The phone is expected to launch in other markets as the Redmi S3.

The smartphone will be housing a 4,000mAh battery with 30W Warp Charge fast charging technology.
For capturing selfies, the OnePlus 7 Pro may feature a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. It will be the company’s first smartphone to arrive with triple rear cameras. There are rumors that Huawei has postponed the release of the Mate X foldable smartphone to September but insiders have revealed that this isn’t true.
The Mate X is Huawei’s first foldable phone which was announced at a pre-MWC 2019 event in Barcelona. The device, unlike its rival, the Galaxy Fold, folds outwards and not inwards. At the launch, Huawei said the device will be available for purchase by the middle of the year.
Earlier this month, the device was listed on the official online store and the listing revealed it will be available in June. Samsung, on the other hand, already sent out review units to YouTubers and tech blogs. However, just a day after usage, there were reports of damaged displays.
The rumor about the postponement of the Mate X might have surfaced due to the issues with the Galaxy Fold, probably as a way to carry out more tests on the device before release. However, insiders have revealed Huawei will be sticking to its release schedule.
The Mate X has a large 8” flexible display with a 2480 x 2200 resolution. It folds into a phone with a 6.6-inch display on one side and a 6.38” display on the other side. It is powered by the Kirin 980 which is paired with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of expandable storage.
Due to its design, the Mate X’s triple rear cameras (40MP + 16MP + 8MP) also double as its front-facing cameras. The device has the Balong 5000 modem inside it which means it supports 5G networks. It also packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 55W fast-charging technology.
A new color for Honor 8C, called “Phantom Blue” will debut on April 23. Nearly half a year later, Huawei’s subsidiary is adding a new color edition to help boost sales of the device. The phone will come with 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and will retail at 899 Yuan (~$133), reveals an official poster on Weibo.
The Honor 8C was launched last year on October 11th with four color options of Platinum Gold, Magic Night Black, Aurora Blue, and Nebula Purple. The device is available in two different storage variants – 4GB+64GB and 4GB+32GB storage.
The Honor 8C features a 6.26-inch TFT LCD IPS HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1520×720 pixels, pixel density of 269 PPI, and a screen-to-body ratio of 86.6 percent. There’s a notch on the top of the display to host a front selfie camera. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC and coupled with Adreno 506 GPU.
A dual rear camera with a 13 MP primary and a 2 MP depth sensor is present. As like of the Honor 8X, the dual shooters are aligned in a vertical symmetry. On the front side, an 8 MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture is available for beautiful selfies and video calls.
Other features including a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a soft flashlight are present on the Honor 8C. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with EMUI on the top.

Huawei, which is currently dominating the Chinese smartphone market, had registered a monstrous growth in its consumer electronics business last year. Now, it seems that the current year is also going pretty good for the company.
The Chinese giant has revealed the financials of the first quarter of this year, i.e. Q1 2019 in which the company claims to have generated revenue of 179.7 billion yuan, which represents a 39 percent year-on-year growth.
Further, the company has revealed that it managed to ship 59 million units of its smartphones in the first quarter that ended in March 2019. This is a significant development given that Huawei has set the target of shipping over 250 million smartphones this year.
The way the company is growing and what the management has planned, Huawei executive recently said that Huawei and Honor — combined — could be the leading smartphone company globally in the coming year or two. Currently, South Korea-based Samsung is dominating the smartphone industry worldwide, followed by US-based Apple.
The company says that going forward, it plans to make aggressively priced Honor smartphones, and further improve its production line, supply chain, and retail operations. It will also continue investing in innovative technologies.
Apart from the smartphone or consumer electronics business, the company could also expect a significant boost in its telecom business as well, thanks to the commercialization of the 5G technology.
Huawei says that in the year 2019 when the 5G communication technology is going commercial, this represents a historic development opportunity. At the end of March this year, the company says it has already signed 40 5G commercial contracts with the world’s leading telecom operations and more than 70,000 5G base stations have been setup across the world.

A recently leaked video revealed its triple sensor camera setup with a fingerprint scanner on the rear side. Whereas, the front side is expected to carry a full view display featuring slim bezels, impressive screen-to-body ratio, and a punch hole camera. Unlike the Galaxy S10 series, the punch hole camera appeared on the top-center position.
The Chinese firm is frequently teasing the Redmi SD855, but the identity and main specifications of the device are still under wraps. Some rumours claim the new phone may go official by the end of this month.
We expect some more details to surface from Xiaomi side before actual launch happens later.
Xiaomi, which is one of the most popular smartphone manufacturers, has also established its presence in the lifestyle products category. The company is growing rapidly when it comes to smart TVs with its Mi TV lineup.
It is all set to refresh its Mi TV lineup with new products for the Spring season, which will be unveiled on 23rd April, i.e. tomorrow. While not much is known about the upcoming Mi TV units, the company has shared a poster online that showcases a camera sensor.
The teaser poster of the upcoming Mi TV shows that the device will come with a camera sensor on the top-right corner. If this turns out to be true, then this could be the Chinese company’s first TV to support camera sensor.
There are two possibilities with the addition of a camera sensor. Either the company plans to offer video calling support or it could introduce gesture-based operations for the television, a step forward compared to the voice-based inputs currently supported.
It has already been confirmed that the new Mi TV will come with improved rear design and better remote control. Xiaomi is focusing on bringing a full design overhaul, and will equally focus on the front and back of the TV. New design aesthetics will also improve the overall quality of Xiaomi Mi TV.
