Google announces something new is coming on May 7, might be the Pixel 3a duo

Next month might just be a pretty exciting one for phone lovers. OnePlus is rumored to launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 7 on May 14; ASUS will follow with the Zenfone 6 series on May 16, and the Honor 20  series will arrive on May 21. But before all these, Google will reveal its own surprise for us.

Google Pixel 3a teaser

The Google online store now has a teaser that says something new is coming on May 7. Seeing as the teaser is on the hardware store, there are speculations it is a launch for the upcoming Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.

The teaser actually opens to a page which has a video of the Avengers: Infinity War battle in New York. The now edited footage shows a bunch of folks with Pixel 3 phones. There is also some footage from the trailers of Avengers: Endgame. The video ends with Google revealing that Pixel-exclusive Avengers: Endgame playmojis are now available on Playground.

There is also a caption that says “On May 7, something big is coming to the Pixel universe”. You can also sign up to get details about the product launching on that day.

We have no idea why Google is linking the Avengers movie with the launch of both phones unless they mean to tell us the “a” in the names of the phones (Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL) is short for Avengers.

Xiaomi’s MIJIA sub-brand will launch a 600-gallon water purifier on April 17

Xiaomi’s MIJIA sub-brand has announced via its official Weibo page that it would be launching a new water purifier under the Youpin crowdfunding platform. The product will be launched on April 17.

The Weibo post doesn’t say much about the product but what stands out among the little details revealed is that the water purifier is capable of purifying 600 gallons of water which obviously means a faster flow rate. There are other 600-gallon water purifiers in the domestic market with prices ranging from 4000 – 8000 yuan. However, we expect the MIJIA model to be cheaper. According to the previous cost performance of Xiaomi, it shouldn’t exceed 3,000 yuan.

This upcoming product will be Xiaomi’s first water purifier with a 600-gallon purification capacity. The existing three models which Xiaomi has under its name are all 400-gallon water purifiers and so, the new product speed is increased by 50%. The quality is expected also to be topnotch. A survey released in October last year by the Beijing Consumers Association showed that there are 27 brands of commercially available water purifiers in the city. Twenty-one of the purifiers are reverse osmosis water purifiers and six others are general water quality processors. The survey showed that the water purification rate of MIJIA water purifier is the highest with a value of 69.33%.

Pete Lau: No OnePlus foldable phone anytime soon, focus is on smart TV and ecosystem

A number of phone manufacturers are working on foldable phones. While some like Royole, Samsung and Huawei have commercially available foldable devices, other manufacturers have shown off prototypes or patented designs. OnePlus doesn’t belong to any of the aforementioned groups and it might remain that way for a while. The company’s CEO, Pete Lau, revealed in an interview about its plans on foldable devices and other products they are working on.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau

Speaking in an interview with the Italian blog, Republica.it, Pete Lau revealed they have actually been considering a foldable phone for over a year. However, they haven’t been able to make a device they believe meets the standard they want or their users deserve. Mr. Lau believes foldable phones are still niche devices and will remain so for the foreseeable future. He also believes they don’t do anything special that a traditional phone can’t do.

He is quick to clarify that he’s not writing off the technology completely. He says foldable displays actually provide interesting possibilities but the form factor for foldable phones is still too thick and the radius of curvature needs to be reduced. He concludes that it will take time for the technology to mature.

Pete Lau also spoke about the company’s other focus for now – TVs, or rather smart displays as he prefers to call them. When asked why smart displays, he responds by saying the home is the next place they want to focus on. “TVs haven’t changed much in decades, people still get home and pick up the remote to turn on the TV” which he says is outdated already. He envisages a screen powered by AI that can predict or anticipate your needs based on your habits and actions.

To achieve this OnePlus says there has to be seamless interaction between the phone and the smart display, a unifying ecosystem of some sort. This is actually the bigger picture for OnePlus. Pete Lau says that the plan is to include the car and the office in this ecosystem. No, OnePlus isn’t building a car but a platform for automobiles that seamlessly communicate with your other devices. However, it might build PCs to get into the work environment.

Pete Lau says they are taking things one step at a time but the unifying ecosystem is the bigger picture. He adds that with 5G, they should be able to offer a super virtual assistant by 2025 that will assist us in ways we can’t imagine today.

Huawei P30 Pro Review – Smartphone Camera Revolution?

The Huawei P30 Pro is the successor to the P20 Pro that was released last year and it brings a lot of technology that is packed into a beautiful glass and metal body. This phone is all about design, photography and performance. We’ve been using the device for about 3 weeks already and here is our full Huawei P30 Pro review.

UNBOXING

The phone ships with a fast charger, USB cable, a pair of earphones and a soft TPU case.

CAMERAS and IMAGE QUALITY

Let’s talk about a powerful and unique camera setup first. If you follow my channel, you probably know how much I love the Mate 20 Pro and its triple camera setup but the P30 Pro takes one step further: it has 4 cameras on the back that have plenty of megapixels and technology built in.

The main sensor not only has an impressive amount of megapixels (40 MP, f/1.6, 27mm), OIS and bright aperture lens but it also brings a lot of innovation. Huawei calls it a super spectrum sensor which can absorb up to +40% more light than usual.

[envira-gallery id=”247230″]

As a result, low-light image quality is really impressive as the pictures are really bright, there is plenty of detail and noise levels are kept to a minimum. A dedicated night mode has been also improved and the image quality is probably the best you can get out of a smartphone today. Really impressive results. In fact, I took quite a few shots side by side with the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and the P30 Pro pretty much blows the S10+ out of the water in terms of detail, sharpness and noise levels. I want to see it yourself, check out my detailed camera comparison video:

[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJtVCUXayB4[/embedyt]

Daylight images also look really good both with the main and 16mm wide-angle lens as the photos look sharp, detailed, dynamic range is on point and colors are pretty accurate. The star of the show, however, is the third sensor that has a periscope lens that provides 5X optical, 10x hybrid and up to 50x digital zoom.

[envira-gallery id=”247282″]

I’m really impressed with the zoom performance. I took quite a few pictures side by side with the Samsung Galaxy S10+ and it’s obvious that the P30 Pro is a hands-down winner. The zoom lens also performs really well even in low-light, which I didn’t expect, to be honest.

[envira-gallery id=”247422″]

Last but not least, we have the TOF (Huawei time of flight) camera which is used to capture depth information. This camera can identify the objects and understand how far away they are. In practice, this should result in smoother and more DSLR-like bokeh effect and better separation. Portrait pictures indeed look really good as the subject is nicely separated from the background.

[envira-gallery id=”247431″]

Selfies taken with a powerful 32MP camera also pretty nice and sharp and selfie portrait pictures will definitely look great on Instagram.

[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wwym7fDwni8[/embedyt]

Selfie video quality also looks pretty good.

[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDTnw2WHOGw[/embedyt]

The 4K video looks really nice and sharp and the video stabilization works really well. I can see quite a huge improvement over the Mate 20.

Other key features include up 409600 ISO performance. Huawei also improved the video performance by bringing Dual view video that will let you record the view of 2 different cameras, e.g. wide angle and the main camera sensor at the same time. However, this feature will be available later with the software updates.

All in all, the Huawei P30 Pro has one of the best and probably the most versatile camera setups on any phone.

DESIGN, DISPLAY, BATTERY LIFE

In the hand, the P30 Pro feels really good. It’s comfortable to hold and it’s fairly light despite the fact it has a massive 4200mAh that has been performing really well, just like the Mate 20 Pro, which has one of the best battery life out there.

That means you should be able to use the P30 Pro for more than one day and you will easily get over 10 hours of screen on time. My record screen-on time is more than 13 hours. There is also a super fast charging feature (charger included in the box) that allows you to fully charge the phone in just about 1 hour. In addition, you get wireless and reverse wireless charging features.

As you may expect, the build quality of the P30 Pro is top notch and the phone looks really nice although we’ve seen this design before – we have a metal frame, curved display, and the glass backplate.

The phone comes in a variety of colors including Breathing Crystal, Amber Sunrise, Pearl White, Black, and Aurora.

My favorite is probably a Breathing Crystal but I also like the Amber Sunrise and Aurora. Tell me in the comment section which color you like the most.

Huawei chose to use the teardrop notch design for the display that I found to be sharp, vibrant, it has deep blacks a good contrast.

The phone also uses electromagnetic levitation technology which means that Huawei removed the in-call speaker. Instead, they use a magnetic suspension system where the sound is manufactured through the vibrations of the screen. The call quality has been really good and honestly, it’s hard to tell the difference between a conventional earpiece and this one.

Other key features include IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, improved under the display fingerprint scanner that has been working pretty well, face unlocking feature, IR blaster, but no headphone jack. Last but not least the P30 Pro has just one speaker that is implemented on the bottom. On the other hand, the sound quality has been really good. In fact, the sound is so good that it can rival dual-speaker systems found on other phones.

HARDWARE and PERFORMANCE

[envira-gallery id=”247467″]

As you may expect from the Huawei, you get a powerful chipset, plenty of RAM and storage. The phone ships with the HiSilicon Kirin 980 CPU,128/256/512 GB of internal storage (expandable via the nano-memory card slot) and 6/8GB of RAM.

As you may expect, the overall performance has been excellent. The phone feels fast and responsive. I could play all the latest 3D games on this phone without any issues. No stutter, no lag, great overall performance.

USER INTERFACE

[envira-gallery id=”247447″]

We have the EMUI 9.1 that is built on top of Android 9.1 and this user interface has plenty of features, customization options and it works in tandem with AI and dual NPUs to assure the best performance.

The user interface is very different from the stock Android but if you follow my channel, you know that the EMUI has grown on me as I’ve been using a lot of Huawei phones over the years.

I can’t say I need all the features but it’s always great to have plenty of options to choose from. Most importantly, the P30 Pro is ridiculously fast and fluid even after installing plenty of apps. Flagship-grade performance.

CONNECTIVITY

The Huawei P30 Pro is excellent in the connectivity department. The phone offers excellent signal reception, great call quality, super fast Wifi, and dual-frequency GPS that I found to be very accurate for both driving and walking. Also, there is NFC and plenty of sensors on board.

CONCLUSIONS

The Huawei P30 Pro is quite an impressive device. I like its design, build, battery life, overall performance and last but not least, powerful, innovative and versatile camera system that lets you take great pictures both in good and poor light using a regular, wide, angle and zoom lens. It’s just incredible that you can actually zoom in so much on a phone and I simply want to take telephoto pictures of everything now.

I do miss some features, however, like 4K at 60fps video recording. Also, you will need to live without a headphone jack.

Despite that, the P30 Pro is a very solid phone. In fact, this is one of the most complete and feature-packed smartphones you can buy at the moment. It may not be cheap but you are definitely getting a premium package that is one of the best in the business. Therefore, we can easily recommend the Huawei P30 Pro as one of the best smartphones of 2019 yet.

Oppo Reno 10x zoom vs Huawei P30 Pro: Specs Comparison

Once again, Huawei launched the most surprising camera phone we could expect: we are talking about the Huawei P30 Pro with the most amazing performances in low light conditions and even a periscopic sensor. But Oppo did not just sit and watch the show: the Oppo Reno 10x zoom debuted a few days ago as the first phone to feature a 10x hybrid zoom. But which is the most impressive one and which one comes with the highest value for money? We will discover it together through this specs comparison. Whether you agree with us or not, you can let us know your impressions with a comment.

Design

The design award for the Oppo Reno 10x zoom is mandatory. Its astonishing screen-to-body ratio and its shark fin-like pop-up selfie camera are something amazing. It is one of the devices with the most narrow bezels, and it also comes with a strong Gorilla Glass 6 front panel. Huawei P30 Pro has a standard waterdrop display that we have already seen dozens of times, but its bezels are incredibly narrow and its display is curved at the sides, so it has a lot more to offer in terms of aesthetics. Further, unlike the Oppo Reno 10x zoom, it is waterproof with the IP68 certification and it can go up to 2 meters deep. Both the devices come with an in-display fingerprint reader making their back cover clean and elegant.

Display

Huawei always managed to equip its flagship smartphones with amazing displays in the last year. And the situation does not change with the Huawei P30 Pro. It may not have the most impressive display out there, but it is an amazing OLED panel supporting the HDR10 technology and DCI-P3 coverage, which provide a very nice color reproduction. On the other hand, Oppo Reno 10x zoom has a larger 6.6-inch display (one of the bigger ones among actual flagship devices) and it does not have a notch, but it should provide a less satisfying quality overall.

Specs & Software

The hardware is not the strongest point of the Huawei P30 Pro if we compare it with the most expensive flagships out there. Even Oppo Reno 10x zoom is a lot more convincing, thanks to its Snapdragon 855 chipset which can be faster in most of the environments. So Oppo Reno 10x zoom wins the hardware comparison, but note that the Huawei P30 Pro is the only to come with up to 512 GB of internal storage. In each case, you can expand the internal storage, but while Oppo Reno 10x zoom has a micro SD slot, Huawei P30 Pro is equipped with a nano memory card slot that is a new SIM-like expansion card released by Huawei, so it is harder to find. Both have Android 9 Pie out of the box, customized by the Color OS and the EMUI user interface, respectively.

Camera

Each of these two phones is among the best camera phones ever, and each one offers its own advantages. The Oppo Reno 10x zoom is better when it comes to color reproduction thanks to its OIS-backed 48 MP main sensor. It also comes with the most impressive zooming capabilities: its 13 MP periscope lens has the new 10x hybrid zoom proprietary technology demoed at MWC 2019. On the other hand, Huawei P30 is better when it comes to photos in low light conditions, thanks to its new RYYB sensor which replaces green with yellow in the RGB paradigma. It also has a TOF 3D camera that is not present on the Oppo Reno 10x zoom.

Battery

We still did not test Oppo Reno 10x zoom’s battery life, but given that the capacity is similar (4065 vs 4200 mAh) and the specs sheets belong to the same segment, we do not expect noticeable differences. But it is worth noting that Huawei P30 Pro comes with a wireless charging technology and reverse wireless charging, while Oppo Reno 10x zoom does not.

Price

Oppo Reno 10x zoom is available to purchase starting from just €550/$621, while Huawei P30 Pro starts from €880/$995. If I had to choose, at the end of the day I would personally go for the Huawei P30 Pro as it is waterproof, it offers wireless and reverse wireless charging, as well as a better display.

Rotating camera-sporting Samsung Galaxy A80 case listed on Olixar’s website

The last few years have seen various design styles make their debut in the tech space. Notches, punch-holes, foldable panels, pop-up camera, sliding camera and of recent, a sliding design with rotating camera as seen on the Samsung Galaxy A80.  The Galaxy A80 brings a rather refreshing design style to an industry that is almost saturated with the same design style repeatedly being used by OEMs. For instance, after the iPhone X was released, notch screen became popular. Punch-hole design is also gaining ground even though we don’t see it mounting any meaningful push in terms of popularity.Samsung Galaxy A80

The Galaxy A80 comes with a refreshing new design but one that can easily damage just like most phones. But in this case, the design will pose a challenge manufacturing a protective case since the rotating camera has to be put into consideration. This is similar to the Galaxy Fold and it wasn’t a surprise the Fold had an exuberant $120 price tag. The Galaxy A80 cases by reputable case manufacturer Olixar has appeared online.  The cases take into consideration the extending , rotating middle-frame camera mechanism. The cases come in different styles, including one with leather known as Slim Genuine Leather Wallet case. The case is comprised of a rear segment, extending to the edge of the camera module and using some sort of adhesive surface to attach to the phone. That’s necessitated by the fact that the sides of the Galaxy A80 remain pretty much uncovered, except for a patch of material underneath the volume buttons. The rear segment acts as a hinge for the front segment of the case, which flips on top of the front glass.Galaxy A80

Nokia 9 Pureview lands in China, Pricing puts it in a Tough Spot

Earlier today, HMD Global launched the much awaited Nokia 9 Pureview flagship in China. It is the world’s first smartphone to feature five cameras at the back and considering the pricing of the device, it’s clear that the Nokia 9 will take on the recently released Huawei P30 Pro.

Nokia-9-PureView

The new Nokia flagship is priced at 5499 Yuan (~$820) for its 6GB+128GB version in China. What’s interesting is that this makes it more expensive than the 8GB + 128GB (5488 Yuan) variant of the Huawei P30 Pro! This definitely puts the new Nokia flagship in a very tight spot, even if it’s backed by the power of five cameras.

The Nokia 9 Pureview is all about the camera experience. The five cameras at the back are all 12MP f/1.8 sensors and feature Zeiss optics, unsurprisingly. Further, the camera technology is powered by Light, the company known for its 16 lens camera called the L16. The phone takes photos from all the five cameras together and fuses them together to churn out a rich photo sample.

It’s also worth mentioning that this five-camera setup is flat, without any camera bumps. Only two of these cameras are RGB, while three others are monochrome. The trio enables higher light input, resulting in better looking night photos. Further, the phone leverages depth information from all the five cameras to capture samples with some really deep bokeh shots.

Despite the advantages of the Nokia 9 Pureview, one could argue that there are better camera flagships suited for the average camera users. As mentioned above, the Huawei P30 Pro, with its newer and more powerful Kirin 980 chip and a powerful 50X zoom camera comes in cheaper than the Nokia model. So, the phone is in a tough spot in a competitive market like China.

Still, photography enthusiasts will be willing to take its powerful camera setup on a joyride. Did I mention that the phone captures photos in RAW file format alongside JPEG? With the Lightroom app from Adobe installed, professional photographers can do wonders with this setup.

Here are the cool features the upcoming EMUI 9.1 update brings to the Mate 20 series and others

Huawei recently announced that the Mate 20 series would be getting EMUI 9.1 beta update. The update will hit selected users of the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche design. The update will also hit other models as time goes on.

Huawei is known for innovations and the new EMUI 9.1 is stuffed with several new features worthy of note. Among them, the most striking is Huawei’s new self-developed system performance innovation tool – EROFS (Super File System) and Ark compiler.EMUI 9.1

The Ark Compiler brings support for architecture level optimizations resulting in significant performance improvements. It will make the Android system more responsive and robust against different actions. Yu reveals that the new compiler can improve system fluency by 24%, system response by 44% and enhance operations of third-party apps by 60%. It will further strengthen multitasking by optimizing several processes and resulting in better speed and performance. Improved battery performance, faster execution speeds and compatibility across all new Android devices term Ark as the best alternative for ART (Android Runtime).EMUI 9.1

Huawei won’t hold any usage rights for Ark Compiler, which means it will be open source for the industry. Huawei expects app developers to soon start using the new refined compiler for Android.

Currently, Android is using the inbuilt ART virtual machine to compile the application code into machine code. The virtual machine dynamically loads and execute the machine code on the Android system. It is 2x faster than the Dalvik VM which was found in the earlier Android builds.

On its part, EROFS (Extendable Read-Only File System) that is also being introduced on EMUI 9.1 is aimed at replacing the EXT4 file format of the system partition (equivalent to the computer’s C drive) with Huawei’s newly developed read-only file system. The new system increases the average read performance by 20% on average. The application startup speed is faster, especially in the heavy load scenario. Another advantage of of the EROFS is that it brings additional space savings on the system ROM by 2GB. Furthermore, since EROFS is a read-only design, the system partition cannot be rewritten by third parties bringing additional security to the Android system.

EMUI 9.1

Huawei’s EMUI 9.1 adopts a minimalist design, thanks to Android 9.0’s deep customization optimization. This version also brings improvements in wallpapers, themes and icons. There are also several improvements to the overall user apps which makes it easier to use the UI. There are also improvements in artificial intelligence (AI) features covering various aspects such as health, office, entertainment, travel and more.

EMUI 9.1

In terms of health, EMUI 9.1 allows users to connect their smartphones with the treadmill using NFC. This enables data from the treadmill to be synchronised with the smartphone using the Huawei Sports Health app. While the treadmill is in use, the user can obtain key motion data such as distance, duration, pace, and calories in real time. It can also link equipment such as watches and accessories to provide users with accurate and comprehensive indoor running data and sports guidance. After the Huawei Sports Health App binds devices and social apps, you can synchronize data and refresh the step list.

Android system performance revolution! Upgrade EMUI 9.1 to add value to Huawei Mate 20 Series

Huawei has been pursuing the synergy of mobile and PC office systems and has developed the Huawei Share “One Touch” feature. With a single touch, the phone and Huawei MateBook can establish a connection and quickly transfer pictures, videos and documents. It is reported that it takes only 1 minute to transfer 500 photos and 35 seconds to transfer 1GB video. It also allows users to extract the text on the picture and share on the clipboard.

Android system performance revolution! Upgrade EMUI 9.1 to add value to Huawei Mate 20 Series

In addition, EMUI 9.1 also implements “AR measurement”, which not only measures the line segment and area but also measures the volume with one click. What’s more interesting is that when the family and friends are in the same box, “Huawei AR measurement” can also measure the heights of all members of the family at one time.EMUI 9.1

In terms of smart travel, EMUI 9.1 has more depth integration between mobile phones and cars. Huawei has already reached an agreement with BMW and other car manufacturers to launch the mobile phone key function. Without a physical car key, the mobile phone can complete a series of operations such as driving the car, starting the car engine, locking the car, etc., which is very convenient. Huawei mobile phone keys follow the CCC 1.0 standard of the Car Connectivity Consortium. The key and algorithm logic is stored in the hardware chip, which will not be accessed and copied by third-party programs, effectively protecting the safe use of mobile phone keys. Even when the phone is out of battery power, the phone key function can continue to be used after the phone is powered off. At this point, it can be used up to 15 times in 24 hours. If the mobile phone is lost, you can easily log into the website of the car manufacturer or change the mobile phone to log in and change the lock code.

EMUI 9.1 also comes with an upgrade to the new GPU Turbo graphics acceleration technology. The feature adds support for 51 domestic games in addition to the already supported 60 domestic games, bringing a low-power full-frame gaming experience.

Furthermore, EMUI 9.1 brings improvements to Huawei’s voice assistant as well as smart dual 4G SIM card switching, automatically switching SIM cards based on the one with the best internet coverage. At the same time, you can also set the traffic for each SIM card. After the setting, there will be a smart reminder of data usage so that the data limit will not be exceeded.Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Huawei’s Kirin 985 will be mass produced by TSMC in Q2 2019

Last year, Huawei’s Hisilicon managed to beat everyone else to release the world’s first 7nm SoC, the Kirin 980. It looks like the company will continue the trend of releasing its new-gen chip before others, with its Kirin 985 slated to go into mass production in Q2 2019.

Kirin 985

The report from Commerical Times (via Digitimes) states that TSMC is readying its 7nm EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography) process technology, dubbed as the N7+, for the mass production of Hisilicon’s new generation Kirin 985. Despite the issues associated with developing EUV, it will make the manufacturing process at 7nm, cheaper and faster.

Soon after kicking off volume production of Kirin 985, TSMC will start manufacturing Apple’s A13 chipsets by the end of Q2 2019. The Cupertino giant’s chipset will be based on a slightly different technology, dubbed as the N7 Pro. All we know about the ‘Pro’ process is that it’s an enhanced version of the N7+.

This news is in line with a previous report which mentioned 7nm EUV process for Kirin 985. Since the new tech will speed up the manufacturing process of the chipset, Huawei should be able to ship more smartphones with this flagship processor inside. It’s important for the company to ensure a steady supply of its top-end smartphones since it aims to ship over 250 million units by the end of 2019.

Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones Review: Best Match of Huawei P30 Series

In the launch event of Huawei P30 series last months, there are a bulk of accessories released, and Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones were one of them. They are so attractive, and the reason is that they are so matched with Huawei P30 series. After a week of experience, we have a deeper understanding of the Huawei FreeLace. Now, let’s check out the review of the latest wireless earphones.

Design

Huawei FreeLace offers four colors for costumers to choose, such as Graphite Black, Amber Sunrise, Emerald Green and Moonlight Silver, and I got the Graphite Black variant to experience.

Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones adopt neck hanging design.

There are two durable control panels made of anodized aluminum alloy on both sides. On the non-detachable side, there is a Logo of ‘HUAWEI’ on it and no buttons.

The power key, multi-function key and volume keys are placed on the other side which adopts detachable design. A Type-C connector is hiding in the control panel.

Long press the multi-function key for waking up the phone’s smart assistant or reject a call, one tap for play/pause music and answer/hang up the phone, double tap for next track, triple tap for previous track. It’s easy to use.

Usage

Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones connect to smartphones through Bluetooth. But Huawei develops a new technology called HUAWEI HiPair technology. The headphones have built-in Type-C plug with HUAWEI HiPair technology, once plugged in the phone, the Huawei FreeLace can be paired at once. It only takes a few seconds, which is very convenient. But the technology just supports some of Huawei smartphones coming with EMUI9.1 and above version.

Performance

Huawei FreeLace adopts canalphones design, which is comfortable to wear. They don’t fall out when shaking violently, so it’s suitable for those who like doing sports.

The material of Huawei FreeLace is nickel-titanium alloy and liquid silicon, which can be easily coiled up to take it out.

The Huawei FreeLace comes with built-in Hall magnetic sensor which can detect whether the earphones are in use. When the earphones attach together, the Huawei FreeLace should disconnect with phone. When you detach them, it will reconnect the phone. I do love this design, which can play a role in saving electricity.

Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones ships with 9.2mm dynamic driver unit that enlarges the sound field, and the ultra-thin TPU diaphragm that has strong bass. Huawei FreeLace comes with Dual-channel Wind Noise Reduction and Bluetooth noise cancelling algorithm, which makes you have clearer calls.

The sound quality of Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones is outstanding at this price. In the high pitch, it performs balanced, and in the low pitch, it has strong power to shake. The Huawei FreeLace can give you stereo surround sound experience that gets you completely immersed in music.

The Huawei FreeLace is fueled by 120mAh battery, which can play the music for 18 hours on full charge, or have phone calls for 13 hours. What’s more, the earphones can stand by for 12 days keeping Bluetooth connection status.

In addition, you can plug in phones, tablets or PC, which support reverse charging, to charge the earphones by Type-C.

In this usage time, I always charge the FreeLace by Huawei P30 Pro. It can play for 4 hours with 5 minutes charging. It’s an innovative idea to solve the problem of Bluetooth earphones battery life.

Conclusion

There are many Bluetooth earphones in the market focusing on design, sound quality or the price performance. Huawei FreeLace carries self-developed HUAWEI HiPair technology showing their features, and makes them to be the best match of Huawei P30 series smartphone.
