Through an unveil event in Shanghai today, Huawei has announced Huawei P30 series of smartphones in China. The P30 and P30 Pro flagship phones offer topnotch photography experience. The P30 Pro has a periscope lens in its triple camera module that makes it possible to snap images with 10x hybrid zoom. Also, these smartphones are packed with impressive flagship specifications.

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro Pricing for China

The Huawei P30 comes in three models such as 8 GB RAM + 64 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. These models are respectively priced at 3,988 Yuan (~$593), 4,288 Yuan (~$638) and 4,788 Yuan (~$713).

The Huawei P30 Pro also comes in three models like 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. They are respectively priced at 5,488 Yuan (~$817), 5,998 Yuan (~$893) and 6,788 Yuan (~$1080). The P30 and P30 Pro will be made available for purchase from today evening in the home market. Both phones will be hitting the Chinese markets in colors like Black, Pearl White, Breathing Crystal, Aurora and Amber Red.

The three P30 Pro variants also come in limited edition kit which includes a special protective case. The three versions are priced at 5,888 Yuan (~$876), 6,388 Yuan (~$951) and 7,188 Yuan (~$1,070). The sales of these models will begin on May at 10:08 AM.

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro Specifications

The Huawei P30 has a 6.1-inch OLED display whereas P30 Pro has a 6.5-inch curved OLED screen. Both phones support full HD+ resolution and are equipped with in-display fingerprint reader. The 7nm Kirin 980 chipset powers the smartphone. The P30 phone features a 3,650mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging whereas the P30 has a larger 4,200mAh battery with 40W rapid charging. The P30 Pro has an IR blaster, but lacks support for 3.5mm audio jack. The P30 has a 3.5mm audio jack, but it does not feature an IR blaster.

The Huawei P30 Pro’s quad camera setup includes a ToF 3D sensor in addition to the 40-megapixel Sony IMX600 + 20-megapixel (ultra wide-angle lens)+ 8-megapixe (periscope lens) triple sensors. It is equipped with features like dual OIS, laser focus, dual LED flash and 50x digital zoom. The P30 has a 40-megapixel + 16-megapixel (wide-angle) + 8-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera module. The P30 and P30 Pro phones are both equipped with 32-megapixel selfie cameras. The EMUI 9.1 based Android 9 Pie OS comes loaded on both devices.

Design

In these two years, there are two features of smartphone’s development, which are bigger screen size and better photograph. OPPO Reno comes with 48MP main camera with Sony IMX586 sensor making sure the imaging effect. Moreover, Reno also uses four-in-one pixel aggregation technology, so the performance is quite good in low-light environment.

Both edition support Super Nightscape, which is a technology to enhance the performance of night scene through multi-frame synthesis technology. In the handheld mode, after taking a night photo, it will compose 7 images with different brightness to form a photo. If you take photos by tripod, it will compose maximum of 17 images with different brightness to form a photo, so the image quality will also be greatly improved.

Overall, regardless of the low light and night scenes, the camera of OPPO Reno will have a great performance. You can see from the official sample.

We also take several samples by Reno. The camera’s performance is very good in daytime, even in the easily overexposed scenes, the color is gorgeous, the details are greatly preserved. There is no distortion in color in a dimly lit room.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G receives complaints after launch in South Korea last week

After waiting for over two months, Samsung finally launched Galaxy S10 5G last week in South Korea. Inadvertently, the world’s first commercial 5G device is facing some serious performance issues such as failing to switch between 5G and LTE, lower than expected speeds and limited 5G coverage. Multiple users are complaining about these problems, reports Business Korea.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is off to a rough start, and concerned companies are “shirking their responsibilities” to early 5G adopters. Samsung and other three telecom operators – SK Telecom, LG Uplus, and KT are running from their responsibilities, showing their inability to find where the problem lies.

Samsung claims to have fully optimized the device with 5G networks after rolling out a new firmware on April 6. The update improved base station signal acquisition and added some changes. On the other hand, telecom operators – SK Telecom and LG Uplus noticed complaints dropped after updating their base stations. Whereas, Korean Telecom entirely denied any complaints regarding incompatibility from its 30000 5G subscribers.

Speaking about the Galaxy S10 5G issues, an industry expert says the 5G network is not fully optimized. For a smooth transition between 5G and LTE networks, base stations need to be tweaked accordingly.

It is nearly impossible to get to the root of the issue until LG V50 ThinQ launches later this month. It will bring clarity and help to identify whether the device or network provider is a culprit here.

Samsung launched Galaxy S10 5G in Korea with Exynos 9820 octa-core processor featuring a 7-nanometer process and speeds ranging between 1.7 GHz and 2.8 GHz. It includes a 6.7-inch Infinity-O display with a pixel density of 505 ppi. It supports 1200 nits of brightness, high color accuracy, and HDR 10+ support. In the camera department, the S10 5G shares a triple rear camera module – 16MP ultrawide, 12MP telephoto, and a 12 MP wide-angle camera. A 10 MP selfies camera is present on the front side.

Redmi Note 7 Pro’s strongest rival Realme 3 Pro is expected to get announced in India in this month. An official invite of the smartphone that was reportedly tweeted and deleted by Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has surfaced now. It reveals that the company will be holding a launch event for the Realme 3 Pro smartphone in India on April 22. The launch event will kick off at 12:30 PM on the said date. The social media channels of Realme are yet to confirm the Realme 3 Pro launch event.

Realme will be celebrating the 1^st anniversary of the company with the launch of the Realme 3 Pro smartphone. The “Speed Awakens” text on the launch poster suggests that the phone will be deliver topnotch performance. Also, Sheth had recently released a tweet that showed the Fornite game running on the Realme 3 Pro. It is speculated that the Snapdragon 710 chipset that offers impressive graphics performance for gaming will be powering the device. Its Adreno 616 GPU is comparatively better than Adreno 612 graphics available with Snapdragon 675 that is present under the hood of Redmi Note 7 Pro.

The Realme 3 Pro could be the company’s first phone to arrive with support for rapid charging. It is speculated to be equipped with VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology. However, a Chinese leakster with good record on leaking information has claimed that the Meizu 16s will be announced on April 23. On the very same day, Lenovo will be also unleashing its Snapdragon 855 powered Lenovo Z6 Pro flagship phone.

According to the tipster, the Meizu 16s series will be tentatively announced on April 23 at Zhuhai Base Camp in China. At the same time, the Meizu’s official flagship store on Tmall has a poster that states that a “Sparkling New Machine” will be on sale soon. The store will be warming up for the new product on April 21 and 22 which is another indication that the Chinese manufacturer may launch the Meizu 16s on April 23.

The Snapdragon 85 mobile platform will be fueling the phone along with up to 8 GB of RAM. It will be arriving with 128 GB of native storage. The Android 9 Pie OS flavored with the latest edition of Flyme UI will be available on the device.

The smartphone will be equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader. The OIS enabled 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 + 5-megapixel dual camera setup will be available on the rear side of the phone. Xiaomi makes Mi 9 custom cases for Lei Jun as the phone’s sale crosses 1.5 million units

Xiaomi launched its flagship smartphone of the year — Mi 9 earlier this year in February. While the phone went on sale soon after its launch, the company struggled to meet the customers’ demand.

However, Xiaomi recently said that the company has worked out a solution to increase its production and optimized its supply chain to meet the demand of the Mi 9. Now, the company says that it has managed to sell over 1.5 million units of Mi 9.

So, in order to celebrate this milestone of selling over 1.5 million units of Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphone, the company made three custom cases of Mi 9 for the company’s CEO Lei Jun in vibrant colors — Blue, Red, and Yellow.

All three variants of the phone case for Mi 9 made for Lei Jun has the same design template. On top of the color, there’s a Black colored vertical strip on the left side featuring the text that names “LEIJUN” and “Mr. LEI” in bold letters.

To remind you of the phone’s specs, the Xiaomi Mi 9 comes with a 6.39-inch S-AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, Gorilla Glass 6 and in-display fingerprint reader. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and comes in two variants — 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

It is equipped with 48-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 12-megapixel triple camera setup on the back and features a 20-megapixel selfie snapper. The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS is loaded on the device. It packs a 3,300mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging and 20W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 comes in colors like Lavender Violet, Ocean Blue, and Piano Black. The base model of the Mi 9 is priced at 2,999 Yuan (~$447) and the top-end Transparent Edition with 12GB RAM costs 3,999 Yuan (~$596).

Oppo announced its long-awaited Reno series during a launch event that took place in China earlier this month. The Chinese mobile phone manufacturer announced the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom smartphone along with the Oppo Reno standard edition.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset could support LPDDR5 RAM

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is the company’s current-generation flagship chipset which powers most of the high-end flagship smartphones launched this year. Recently, the company released two new upper mid-range chipsets — Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 and Snapdragon 730/G.

Now, the company has reportedly started working on its next-generation flagship chipset, which is expected to be named Snapdragon 865. The SD855 had an internal model number SM8150 and was codenamed “Hana” and if the reports are to be believed, then its successor has the model number SM8250.

The codename of the upcoming flagship chipset is said to be “Project Kona”. Kona is a name referring to the Hawaiian Islands. Interestingly, Qualcomm has been hosting a Qualcomm Tech Summit in Hawaii to present its high-end processors in December.

While nothing much is known about the Snapdragon 865 processor, it is said that the chipset will come with support for LPDDR5 RAM. The high-end chip for Windows devices Snapdragon 8cx is still using LPDDR4X. Qualcomm already has samples of the new SM8250 internally and is testing them in conjunction with the LPDDR5 memory, leaving it open who the supplier is.

However, it’s a long time before we see anything substantially related to the upcoming Snapdragon 865 flagship chipset from Qualcomm. So, we expect to know more about this SoC in the coming months.

Meanwhile, TSMC has announced its new 5nm process infrastructure, readying base for the Apple A14 chipset, which will be powering the Apple iPhones launching in 2020. Thus, we are also expecting a Qualcomm chipset manufactured using a 5nm process.

Lenovo shares Night Mode camera samples of the upcoming Lenovo Z6 Pro

Lenovo has been teasing the launch of Z6 Pro flagship smartphone from quite some time and recently, the company finally confirmed that the smartphone will be launched in China at an event in Beijing on 23rd April.

One of the highlights of the smartphone is that it will come with a feature called “Hyper Video”, which the company has been teasing since revealing that it plans to launch Lenovo Z6 Pro later this year. However, not much is known about this feature.

Now, ahead of the phone’s official launch, the company has shared camera samples of the smartphone during the night time. There’s a watermark on the images that reads “Night Scene Video Shooting”, which could be the Hyper Video function.

From the looks of it, the images seem pretty awesome for the low-light conditions with a rich amount of colors and details. The images are also pretty sharp and have a good layer of light on top. It appears that the camera has a single pixel of 2.9μm, a larger photosensitive area, and supports 80dB over-motion map.

According to the reports, the Z6 Pro will come with support for 125-degree ultra-wide-angle shooting, 2.39cm macro shooting and a maximum output of 100 million pixels in addition to the night scene function.

A recent teaser of the smartphone hinted that the phone’s camera will be able to capture 100-megapixel shots. There is a possibility that the company could be relying on some sort of software trick for shooting 100-megapixel images through the smartphone.

The camera-related features that are expected to be available on the device include super macro, super anti-shake, ultra-wide-angle lens, super night mode, and super slow-motion video shooting. The company has also confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, which powers most of the flagship smartphones launching this year.

Vivo X27 Pro pre-orders begins in China

Last month, Vivo had launched the Vivo X27 and Vivo X27 Pro smartphones in China. While the Vivo X27 phone has been available for purchase in the country, the Chinese manufacturer has just started with the pre-orders of the X27 Pro smartphone. The shipments of the pre-ordered units will begin in the home market on April 18.

Vivo X27 Pro Price

The Vivo X27 Pro comes in a single variant featuring 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage. It carries a price tag of 3,998 Yuan (~$595). The handset is available in color options like Black Pearl and White. The Snapdragon 675 SoC powered Vivo X27 variants such as 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage are respectively selling for 3,598 Yuan (~$535) and 3,198 Yuan (~$476) in China.

Vivo X27 Pro Specifications and Features

The Vivo X27 Pro houses a behemoth Super AMOLED display of 6.7 inches. The 20.5:9 tall aspect ratio display of the phone produces full HD+ resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. It is equipped with sixth-generation in-display fingerprint reader. The handset offers a screen-to-body ratio of 91.2 percent.

The Snapdragon 710 mobile platform drives the Vivo X27 Pro smartphone. There is no microSD card slot on the device. It is preinstalled with the latest Android 9 Pie OS that is overlaid with FunTouch 9 UI. It comes with Jovi AI assistant from Vivo and it also includes Multi Turbo for accelerated GPU and CPU performance for optimized gaming experience.

The motorized pop-up selfie camera module has an LED flash and a 32-megapixel lens. The back panel of the smartphone features a vertical triple camera unit. It includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens as secondary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
