Realme C1 2019 is now available for purchase in India through open sale

Last month, Realme, the newly independent smartphone brand which started off as a sub-brand of Oppo, launched a new variant of its entry-level smartphone — Realme C1 2019.

The new variant of Realme’s entry-level smartphone now comes with increased internal storage capacity. It is being touted by the company as ‘Entertainment Ka Boss’. The smartphone went on sale for the first time a couple of days back and was again available for purchase in India last Friday and yesterday.

Now, the company has announced that the Realme C1 2019 will be available for purchase in India through open sale. The phone is currently being sold through online marketplace Flipkart and the company’s own online store.

Realme C1 2019 comes in two variants — 2GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. As for the pricing, the 2GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 7,499 (approximately $105), the 3GB RAM model is priced at Rs. 8,499 (approximately $119).

Except for the internal storage, most of the phone’s specifications remains the same as the standard model. It features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD notched display that carries support for HD+ resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels and offers 19:9 aspect ratio.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the modest Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. The 2019 edition models come with either 2GB/3GB RAM and pack 32GB of internal storage. The phone is also equipped with a dedicated microSD card slot for expanding the storage capacity.

For the photography, the horizontally arranged dual rear camera on the backside of the Realme C1 features a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The notch of the smartphone houses a 5-megapixel AI driven selfie camera that also doubles up for AI facial recognition.

The LG G8 ThinQ is launching at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 later this month. Reliable tipster and industry expert Evan Blass shared a fresh render of the G8 ThinQ. The new render has revealed the entire design of the smartphone from all angles.

Sony was expected to launch the Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra/Plus smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 tech event in January. The Japanese tech giant will be holding a press event on Feb. 25 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 tech trade show. It is speculated that the company be using the MWC 2019 platform to announce multiple phones such as Xperia XZ4 flagship phone, Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Ultra/Plus mid-range phones and the Xperia L3 entry-level smartphone. Today, popular tipster Ishan Agarwal has revealed that the Sony Xperia XA3 and Xperia XA3 Plus could be respectively rebranded as Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus.

The tipster claims that the reason rebranding the upcoming XA models to Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus could be because of their revamped design. The renders revealed by WinFuture.de show that the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus will be sporting a tall aspect ratio screen. Rumors have that the Xperia XZ4 flagship smartphone as well as the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus phones will be equipped with 21:9 aspect ratio displays.

The leaked renders of the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus show that both phones are equipped same design. The upper bezel of the Xperia 10 series are quite thick, but its other bezels are quite thin. The only difference is that the Xperia 10 is a smaller device than its Plus sibling. The back panels of the Xperia 10 series feature horizontal dual camera setup with dual-tone LED flash placed above it. Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship smartphone scheduled to launch in China on February 20

Yesterday, Xiaomi shared an image on its official Weibo account saying it’ll make an important announcement related to a smartphone tomorrow which many believed was related to Mi 9. While the poster didn’t reveal much and just indicated 10:00 AM time for the announcement through a digital alarm clock set to 10 o’clock.

Today, the company has revealed that it will be hosting a launch event for a smartphone on 20th February. Xiaomi has also confirmed that it will be launching its next flagship smartphone — Xiaomi Mi 9 — at a launch event on 20th February in China.

Xiaomi executives have suggested that the upcoming flagship smartphone is not only powerful in terms of performance but also the best-looking smartphone from Xiaomi so far. However, we’ll see that when the device gets officially launched.

As for the phone’s specifications, previous reports suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 9 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 octa-core chipset. Earlier, the phone was also spotted on Geekbench benchmarking portal and it achieved a single-core score of 3158 points and a multi-core score of 11174 points.

It is also speculated to support 27W fast charging feature, based on the 3C certification that the device received. The phone will be running Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own MIUI 10 on top.

Recently, a Xiaomi executive posted an image on Weibo with the upcoming Mi 9. Even though he attempted to mask the sensors, it was visible that the smartphone will feature a triple-camera setup on the back side along with an LED flash, placed vertically in the top-left position.

While not yet confirmed, the phone could feature a 6.4-inch display and a 48-megapixel + 12-megapixel + 3D ToF lens in its triple camera setup. It could come equipped with a front-facing shooter of 24-megapixel. The phone will also have an in-display fingerprint sensor. It may be powered by a 3,500mAh battery.

OnePlus 5G Smartphone prototype to be showcased during MWC 2019

A few days ago, OnePlus sent out media invites for its event during Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. The company had said that the event is for the networking purpose only and that it does not intend to launch any new product.

However, as it turns out, during its MWC 2019 event, OnePlus will be showcasing the prototype of its upcoming 5G smartphone. Last year, it was announced by the company during Qualcomm’s event that OnePlus will be among the first smartphone manufacturers to launch a 5G-compatible smartphone.

Revealing details about the company’s plan with their booth at the Mobile World Congress, OnePlus said:

OnePlus, at Qualcomm’s booth (Hall 3 Stand 3E10), invites all to connect and communicate with our community over a 5G network. Attendees will also be able to experience the capabilities of 5G gaming on a OnePlus 5G prototype. OnePlus has collaborated with European telecom carrier EE to be among the first brands to launch a 5G smartphone. The company has made it clear that the device that will be showcased during MWC 2019 will not be a finished product and those who show up at the company’s booth will be able to try the prototype.

The prototype OnePlus 5G smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset along with Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem. The company will be launching OnePlus 7 later this year but it’s not yet confirmed if the 5G model will be a variant of the OP7 or an entirely new smartphone.

However, previous reports have indicated that the OnePlus’ 5G smartphone will not be a part of OnePlus 7 lineup and will kick-off a new lineup for the China-based company. A recent report based on the information received from people who are aware of the matter, OnePlus’ 5G phone will be costing $100 more than the OnePlus 6T.

While the company has not announced the launch date of its 5G smartphone and have just revealed that it will be among the first brands to launch a 5G phone, reports suggest that the OnePlus 5G smartphone will be launched by the end of May this year, at least in the UK.

The Nokia 9 PureView flagship phone and Nokia 1 Plus entry-level smartphone are the upcoming devices from HMD Global that are expected to go official on Feb. 24 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 tech exhibition. Both phones have been certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. Many key details of these phones have been revealed through their FCC documents.

Nokia 9 PureView

The FCC documents of the Nokia 9 PureView mentions three model numbers such as TA-1094, TA-1087 and TA-1082. The TA-1094 model is heading to China whereas the TA-1087 is the single-SIM global edition and the TA-1082 is the dual-SIM global variant.

The TA-1094 model was previously approved by 3C body in China through which it was confirmed that it carries support for 18W charging. Moreover, all three models mentioned here have been approved by the Bluetooth SIG body.

Through FCC it has been revealed that the Nokia 9 PureView will be available in at least Blue color and it will come preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo. In China, it won’t be selling as Android One device, but in the rest of the world markets it will. Also, it carries support for wireless charging which indicates it could be the first Nokia phone to feature it.

Previous reports have revealed that it will be equipped with 6-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED screen with in-display fingerprint scanner, Snapdragon 845 chipset, up to 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and 4,150mAh battery. The exact configurations of the penta-lens setup is not known yet.

The Nokia 1 Plus FCC documents show that it is equipped with a 2,500mAh battery, a 3.5mm audio jack, a microUSB 2.0 port and a dedicated microSD card slot. It will carry support for up to 5W charger. The single-SIM version has model numbers such as TA-1111 (Europe) and TA-1127 (LTA) whereas the model numbers of the dual-SIM variant are TA-1130 (Europe) and TA-1123 (LTA).

The FCC documents have revealed that the Galaxy A50 will be equipped with a 6.22-inch display. The smartphone measures 158.5 x 74.5mm which suggests that it could be featuring a waterdrop notch screen. It will carry support for connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, LTE and ANT+. In the previous month, the Galaxy A50 was certified by Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance bodies.

Previous reports have revealed that the Galaxy A50 will be sporting a triple camera setup with 24-megapixel primary sensor. For shooting selfies, it may house a 24-megapixel frontal camera. According to a report by the International Data Corporation (IDC) as contained in an official press release by OnePlus, it ranks among the top five high-end smartphone vendors during the fourth quarter. Much of this is as a result of the OnePlus 6T that was released within the fourth quarter. The OP6T is reported to have sold so well in the US between October and December. Fora company that is barely 5 years old in the industry, that is no small feat. Also, this is coming in the face of a slump in global smartphone shipments.

Unfortunately, OnePlus didn’t disclose its market share in the high-end US market but we believe it is huge to have lifted the company to the top 5 brands in Q4 2018. The figures could even be higher but the OnePlus 6T wasn’t available all quarter just like the OP6 that equally got lots of positive reviews. ZTE Axon 10 Pro moniker confirmed as it is certified by EEC

Chinese phone maker ZTE launched a new entrance into the smartphone industry with the Axon 9 Pro released in August last year after the US ban was lifted. The company is now in the thick of plans to release a successor to the Axon 9 Pro. The device was spotted recently on GeekBench as ZTE A2020 Pro. The Axon 10 Pro moniker has now been confirmed by its listing on the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) where it has just been certified.

The document clearly shows the GeekBench listed ZTE A2020 Pro will be known as Axon 10 Pro when it is eventually launched officially. The EEC listing doesn’t contain any other detail about the device but previous leaks including the GeekBench listing shows the Axon 10 Pro will pack a Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. The phone is expected to also run Android 9 Pie out of the box.

Further, the Axon 10 Pro is expected to utilise a 6.4-inch 1080p+ screen. The phone will also pack a 16MP+20MP dual camera on the rear as well as a 25MP selfie camera. The device will get its juice from a 4,300mAh battery with fast charging.

Leaked Samsung Galaxy S10+ banner reaffirms the front design

As the February 20 launch event for the Galaxy S10 series draws nearer, we expect the rumour mill to continue buzzing. The latest leak comes from popular tipster Evan Blass and it is an official-looking promotional banner for the Galaxy S10+. Rightly so, the banner contains the render of the flagship device, availing us another chance to feast on the design.

The render only shows the front view of the Galaxy S10+ and the most important feature that we can see is the punch-hole display which houses not one, but two selfie cameras. The punch-hole design fits in line with Samsung’s Infinity O display technology, which the company talked about at a press conference back in November. As a result of the design, the bezels surrounding the display on the Galaxy S10+ are noticeably slimmer.

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is said to feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display just like the Galaxy Note 9 but this model may likely offer the highest screen-to-body ratio for any Samsung smartphone yet. Although the render doesn’t show the rear, previous leaks show the device will have three camera sensors with an LED flash at the side. There is no fingerprint sensor at the rear which means the device will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. The location of the volume rockers and power buttons at the side don’t seem to have changed. The volume rockers and Bixby button are on the left side while the power button sits at the right. The Galaxy S10+ is expected to pack a Snapdragon 855 chipset as well as the latest Exynos 9820 on some models. For memory, the device will have at least 6GB of RAM and up to 1TB of native storage.

Xiaomi to make smartphone-related announcement tomorrow morning

Xiaomi has shared a post on Weibo that says it will make an important announcement tomorrow.

The poster doesn’t reveal much save for a digital alarm clock set to 10 o’clock. There are speculations the announcement may be related to the Mi 9 flagship while some say it might be related to the Redmi Note 7 Pro which Xiaomi itself disclosed will launch after the Spring Festival holidays. However, the official Redmi account has not shared a similar post, so tomorrow’s announcement may be related to the Mi 9.

The Mi 9 has been certified by China’s TENAA and has also been certified in Singapore. It is said to be designed by the same person who designed the Mi 6. Leaked images have also revealed the flagship will have a triple camera setup on its back. Like its predecessor, the Mi 8, the Mi 9 is expected to come in several variants including an Explorer Edition which should be the top of the line.

An insider from the retail channel of Samsung has revealed the full specifications and features of the Galaxy S10 series to GSMArena. The tip contains snapshots of specs sheets of the Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e.

The Galaxy S10+, S10 and S10e that are respectively codenamed as Beyond 2, Beyond 1 and Beyond 0 are equipped with 6.3-inch, 6.1-inch and 5.8-inch AMOLED HDR+ displays with Infinity-O design. These smartphones are equipped with quad HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The S10+ and S10 feature Gorilla Glass 6 panels and ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensors whereas the Galaxy S10e has Gorilla Glass 5 and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy S10 trio carry support for face recognition.

The Galaxy S10+ feature triple camera setup which includes f/2.4 aperture 12-megapixel telephoto lens with support Zoom, OIS and autofocus; f/1.5 aperture wide-angle lens with dual aperture and dual pixel OIS and f/2.2 aperture 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle fixed focus lens. The same triple camera sensors are available on the rear side of the S10. There is a dual camera setup on the Galaxy S10e has the same 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor available on the S10 and S10+.

The f/1.9 aperture 10-megapixel + f/2.2 aperture 8-megapixel dual front-facing camera setup is available on the Galaxy S10+. The secondary sensor is enabled with support for dual pixel autofocus and UHD selfie. The S10 and S10e are equipped with f/1.9 aperture 10-megapixel front-facing camera with support for dual pixel autofocus and UHD selfie. The camera features available on the Galaxy S10 trio include AR Emoji, fun stickers, live focus, zoom effect, color point effect and spin effect. Also, the Galaxy S10 series will be the world’s first phones to support 4K video recording through their selfie cameras.
