Infinix has just unveiled the Hot 60 Pro+, which is pushing the limits of design with a razor-thin body and a surprisingly large battery. It is making headlines for being nearly as slim as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, but it manages to deal with the battery compromise and also offers a 3D curved design. So let’s check it out.

Infinix Hot 60 Pro+: What makes it special?

Ultra thin phones might be making a return as Infinix brings the new Hot 60 Pro+, just a while after the Galaxy S25 Edge. It is being marketed as the thinnest smartphone on the market that carries a 5,160mAh battery pack. To recall, the Galaxy S25 Edge received praise for its thin 5.8mm body that measured 163 grams in weight. While the Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ is marginally thicker at 5.95mm, it weighs impressively light at 155 grams. This makes it even lighter than the Galaxy S25.

You’re not missing out on the fast charging either, like the Edge, since it supports 45W wired charging speeds. Huawei Pura 80 repair parts prices announced ahead of sale

Huawei officially unveiled the Pura 80 series last month, and pre-sales for the base model began on July 23. The phone is set to hit store shelves on July 30. Now, the company has also revealed official spare part pricing, giving potential buyers a clear idea of repair costs in case of accidental damage. The Pura 80 “Digital Edition” will be available with a starting price of CNY 4,699 (around $655).

According to Huawei’s official repair pricing, a screen assembly replacement will cost CNY 849 (around $118), and customers can opt for on-site service that includes free recycling of the old display. A screen replacement will cost CNY 1,949 (around $271).

Battery replacements are relatively affordable, priced at CNY 199 (roughly $28) for the 5,600mAh cell (China), which should ease concerns about long-term power longevity.

Motherboard repairs are priced based on storage variants:

CNY 2,099 ($292) for the 12GB/256GB version
CNY 2,399 ($334) for the 512GB variant
CNY 3,099 ($431) for the top-tier 1TB model

Camera module repairs are also detailed, with the 50MP main camera costing CNY 609 ($85) to replace. Other modules are cheaper—CNY 579 ($80) for the 12MP telephoto, CNY 299 ($42) for the color camera on the Red Maple edition, and CNY 269 ($37) for the front-facing or wide-angle lens.

OPPO Reno 14 Now Available in Mint Green, starting at ₹37,999 (~US$439)

OPPO has added a new Mint Green colour option to its Reno 14 smartphone in India. The phone was earlier available in Pearl White and Forest Green. The new variant keeps the same hardware and features as the previous models.

The Reno 14 features a 6.59-inch OLED flat display with a 2760 x 1256 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1200 nits peak brightness, and 3840Hz PWM dimming. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

It is powered by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor with a Mali-G615 MC6 GPU. It comes with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs on Android 15 with ColorOS 15.

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor (IMX882) with OIS and f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera (OV08D) with a 112-degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture, and a 50MP periscope camera (JN5) with OIS and f/2.8 aperture offering 3.5x zoom. It supports 4K video recording at 60fps with HDR. The front camera is a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and also supports 4K video recording at 60fps.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, infrared sensor, stereo speakers, USB Type-C audio, and dust and water resistance rated at IP66, IP68, and IP69. Some say distant shots now look blurry, close-ups also appear overly soft, and colors lack the punch the S23 series was known for—even in good lighting conditions.

One S23 user wrote on Samsung’s community forum that since the update, their phone “can’t capture long distance scenery and there is something like blur in photos.”

Samsung hasn’t made an official statement yet, but moderators on the company’s Community forum are encouraging users to submit detailed bug reports through the Samsung Members app, including log files to help engineers investigate.

The timing is frustrating for S23 owners, especially those who bought the more expensive Ultra model. With the S23 series still under Samsung’s seven-year update commitment, a fix is likely—though there’s no word yet on when that might arrive.

According to known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Chinese tech giant is planning on releasing the Mate XT 2 in multiple color options. To recall, the original Huawei Mate XT was announced in two color variants, namely Ruihong (Red) and Dark Black. But the next gen model may debut in four variants, which includes Mystic Black, Auspicious Red, Crimson Purple, and Bright White.

Huawei’s first tri-fold phone carried an exorbitant price tag but was still received well in China, with a global release following a while later. Just recently, the Mate XT 2 was certified with support for both 5G networking and satellite communication, carrying the GRL-AL20 model number. It is also expected to get the more durable UFG glass for its tall foldable screen. Samsung‘s next budget flagship has just been spotted in a new leak. A fresh Galaxy S25 FE rumor has just dropped, revealing information related to its possible storage configurations and color variants. There are some new details and also some disappointments, so here’s what you need to know.

Galaxy S25 FE Colors & Storage Leak

The news arrives from known tipster Arsène Lupin who shared the details on X (formerly Twitter). He claimed that the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE will arrive in four color options, namely Icy Blue, Jet Black, White, and Navy. So, the South Korean tech giant could be getting rid of the vibrant hues found on last year’s Galaxy S24 FE in favor of more sober color schemes.

Apart from this, the tipster revealed that the Galaxy S25 FE will be available in two storage configurations, namely 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. This is a bit disappointing considering how another Galaxy S series model still starts from 128GB and isn’t seeing an upgrade in RAM either. In other words, ever since the first FE model (Galaxy S20 FE), the RAM has yet to cross 8GB, while the base storage model is still stuck on 128GB.

This news also arrives after the Galaxy S25 FE had its renders leaked online, revealing no changes to the design over its predecessor. A TÜV Rheinland certification listing also hints that the Galaxy S25 FE is getting an upgrade to 45W wired fast charging, matching the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra in terms of charging speeds. Other notable features include a 50MP triple camera setup (unchanged from the S24 FE), Exynos 2400e SoC, and a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Certified with VESA DisplayHDR 600, it ensures vivid visuals and deeper blacks. LG’s Live Color Low Blue Light technology reduces eye strain while maintaining color accuracy.

The 40U990A-W is the first PC monitor to support Thunderbolt 5. This allows for 120 Gbps bi-directional data transfer, 96W power delivery, and daisy chaining of two monitors at a combined resolution of 10240 x 2160 at 120Hz. In terms of connectivity, it includes four USB-C ports (10Gbps), two USB-A ports, and a LAN (RJ45) port for stable networking.

For multitasking and efficiency, it includes a KVM switch, allowing two PCs to share one keyboard, mouse, and set of USB peripherals. It also supports Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) display modes. Gamers will benefit from features like Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), AMD FreeSync Premium, Dynamic Action Sync, and Black Stabilizer.

The monitor is equipped with 10W + 10W Rich Bass built-in speakers and an ergonomic stand offering 130mm height adjustment, tilt from -5° to 20°, and 20° swivel.

The LG UltraFine 40U990A-W is priced at approximately 253,000 yen (~US$1,711). Pre-orders have already begun via LG’s official online store.

LG has also launched the 34-inch UltraWide Monitor 34BA75QE-B, which features a 3440 x 1440 resolution, USB Type-C with 90W power delivery, and KVM switch support, targeting professionals who require extensive multitasking capabilities.

Samsung has released the July 2025 security patch update to a bunch of Galaxy phones and tablets, ensuring they remain protected against recent vulnerabilities found in Android devices. As always, the rollout is gradual, meaning some users may have already received the update, while others may have to wait a little longer, depending on the region and model.

The July 2025 security patch is already rolling out to many Galaxy devices, including flagship phones, mid-range phones, as well as some tablets — and Samsung will continue to expand its rollout to more devices over the coming days and weeks. Samsung’s July 2025 security patch details

The July 2025 security patch includes numerous fixes from Google and Samsung, further strengthening the security of Samsung devices. According to the details published on Samsung’s security maintenance release page, the latest security patch includes fixes for 21 high-level and one critical vulnerability in the Android OS.

In addition to Google’s patches, the July security patch also includes one high-level security patch affecting some of the Exynos chipsets. Additionally, it addresses 17 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVEs). These are device-specific patches that span across Samsung phones, tablets, and wearables.

Security updates generally don’t bring new features or visual changes, and that’s also true for the July 2025 security patch. However, they include crucial vulnerability fixes to ensure maximum security against potential threats.

Infinix has unveiled the Smart 10, an entry-level 4G phone, in India. The Smart 10 arrives as the successor to the Smart 9 and it is packed with several exciting specs made available at an affordable price point.

The Smart 10 features a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD panel with a punch-hole cutout, offering a refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 700 nits. It includes an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, accompanied by a secondary depth sensor. On the front, the phone sports an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with LED flash, capable of 2K video recording.

Powering the device is the Unisoc T7250 processor paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Users can expand memory up to 2TB via a microSD card. There is also an additional 4GB virtual RAM option. The device runs Android 15 with Infinix’s custom XOS 15 interface, and a 5,000mAh battery supports 15W wired fast charging and reverse charging as well.

Other key features of the Smart 10 include stereo speakers with DTS tuning, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, and an infrared sensor. It is IP64 certified for dust and water splash resistance. It weighs 187 grams and measures 165.62 x 77.01 x 8.25mm.

In India, the Infinix Smart 10 comes in a single variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, priced at Rs 6,799. Colour options include Titanium Silver, Sleek Black, Iris Blue, and Twilight Gold. The device will be available for purchase via Flipkart starting Aug. 2.

iQOO Z10 Turbo+ name officially confirmed, coming soon with Dimensity 9400+, 8000mAh battery

iQOO is reportedly working on the iQOO Z10 and Z10 Turbo-series phones for the Chinese market. The latter will be the third Turbo-branded phone after the Z10 Turbo and Z10 Turbo Pro. While previous reports had claimed that the next Turbo phone would be called the Z10 Turbo Pro+, the company’s Z-series product manager, Chengzi, has officially confirmed that the device will be called the iQOO Z10 Turbo+.

Apart from confirming the iQOO Z10 Turbo+ name, the iQOO executive also revealed that the device will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset and pack a massive 8,000mAh battery. She also claimed that the goal behind launching this phone is to challenge the industry’s highest benchmark scores.

The AnTuTu scores of the iQOO Z10 Turbo+ are not known yet. However, the device has already appeared in Geekbench’s database, scoring 2196 points in the single-core test and 8907 points in the multi-core test. The 3C certification of the said device has revealed that it may support 90W fast charging.

It is likely that the iQOO Z10 Turbo+ may borrow other specifications from the Z10 Turbo Pro. Hence, it is expected to feature a 6.78-inch OLED panel that supports a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. For photography, it may come with a 16-megapixel front camera and a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel OIS primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The phone may ship with up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM.

On the other hand, the iQOO Z10 (China variant), which is yet to be officially confirmed by the brand, is expected to feature a 1.5K OLED LTPS screen, a 50-megapixel primary camera, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, and an 8,000mAh+ battery.

UPI Comes to PayPal: What It Means for Global Payments

PayPal has confirmed that UPI will be part of its new global payments platform, PayPal World. This platform is designed to connect major digital wallets and payment systems worldwide, starting with PayPal, Venmo, UPI (via NPCI International), Mercado Pago, and Tenpay Global.

With this integration, Indian users will be able to make international payments using UPI. For example, someone in India shopping on a US-based website that supports PayPal will see the familiar UPI button at checkout and can complete the transaction using their usual payment app. This removes the need for a credit card or international payment account.

The platform will also support cross-border peer-to-peer payments. A Venmo user in the United States will be able to send money directly to a PayPal user in another country. This is the first time PayPal and Venmo will work together like this.

Businesses that use PayPal will automatically be able to accept payments from nearly two billion users who rely on domestic wallets like UPI and Weixin Pay. There is no need for extra coding or integrations. This helps businesses reach new customers without changing how they operate.

PayPal World will use open APIs and a cloud-based setup to support fast, secure transactions across multiple regions. The platform is built to work with different devices and will be compatible with new features over time, such as stablecoins and dynamic payment buttons.

Ritesh Shukla, CEO of NPCI International, said the move will help grow UPI’s reach beyond India and make global payments easier and safer for Indian users. PayPal World will begin rolling out this fall. More wallet and payment system partners are expected to join as the platform grows.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus X Gaming Monitor Launched with 4K 165Hz and FHD 330Hz Dual-Mode OLED Display

ASUS has introduced the ROG Zephyrus X, a 31.5-inch OLED gaming monitor based on the XG32UCWG model. It is the first OLED monitor of this size to support dual-mode operation, offering 4K resolution at 165Hz or Full HD at 330Hz. The monitor features LG’s third-generation WOLED panel, a built-in KVM switch, and support for both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync for smooth, tear-free gaming.

The display features a 0.03ms response time and 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It is certified for DisplayHDR True Black 400. The screen incorporates TrueBlack Glossy OLED film, reducing ambient light reflection by 38% compared to previous WOLED panels, improving image clarity, and reducing eye strain.

ASUS has added multiple technologies to protect the OLED panel. A Neo proximity sensor automatically turns the screen black when the user is away to prevent burn-in. The OLED Care+ suite includes pixel shifting and panel refresh features, with settings managed via DisplayWidget Center.

Gaming features include AI Visual enhancements, dynamic crosshair, and shadow boost, offering better visibility and training assistance. The redesigned base is 45% smaller than the previous generation, allowing a more compact setup.

Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, one USB-C port (15W Power Delivery, DP Alt), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. ASUS has also included an advanced internal cooling system to manage heat and further reduce the risk of screen burn-in. The monitor comes with a 3-year warranty.

Why Galaxy Z Fold 7 dropped the under-display camera — it’s not what you think

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 packs a powerful punch with its slimmer design and the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. But one design decision has caught many off guard — the return of a traditional punch-hole camera on the inner display, replacing the under-display camera (UDC) that had been part of the Fold series since the Fold 3. So, why the backtrack?

While the change has improved the image quality, there’s reportedly another reason behind it: legal pressure. Earlier this year, Chinese display maker BOE filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the US, claiming Samsung violated several under-display camera patents in its foldable lineup. While the case is still ongoing, the timing raised eyebrows, especially since it landed just months ahead of the Z Fold 7’s production window. It’s unclear whether the lawsuit directly influenced Samsung’s design decision, but it may have made the company more cautious.

Ultimately, the shift back to a punch-hole camera seems driven by a mix of practicality and user feedback. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 may not push display boundaries in the same way its predecessors did, but it delivers where it matters most: everyday performance and reliability.

The UDC was originally introduced to create a more seamless, uninterrupted screen experience by hiding the camera beneath the display. However, it came with a trade-off: lower image quality. Over the past few years, users have complained about the grainy, soft selfies produced by the 4MP under-display camera. For a phone priced at $1,999, many felt the camera simply didn’t live up to flagship standards. With the Z Fold 7, Samsung appears to have listened. While some fans may miss the clean look of a hidden camera, many appreciate the boost in quality and usability.

Whether this move signals a temporary retreat or a permanent shift remains to be seen — but for now, Samsung is clearly prioritizing quality over gimmicks.

Galaxy S25 Ultra costs more to make than S24 Ultra and S23 Ultra, even with lower camera and display costs

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra, launched in January 2025, is turning out to be more expensive to build than its predecessors—even though its starting price of $1,299 hasn’t changed. A new report from Counterpoint Research sheds light on where these extra costs are coming from and how Samsung is managing to keep the retail price steady.

According to Counterpoint’s analysis, the bill of materials (BoM) for the 12GB + 512GB variant of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is 3.4% higher than the S24 Ultra. That marks a bigger jump than the relatively modest cost increase from the S23 Ultra to the S24 Ultra.

The most significant cost driver? You guessed it—the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. Built on TSMC’s 3nm process and featuring Qualcomm’s custom Oryon CPU, the chip alone accounts for a 21% increase in system-on-chip (SoC) costs. The absence of Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2500—originally expected to serve as a cheaper alternative—has likely pushed the overall cost higher.

Memory pricing also ticked up slightly, reversing the decline seen between the S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra. Market fluctuations appear to be behind the bump, adding pressure to the phone’s overall production budget.

Not all component categories saw increases, though. The cost of the titanium frame—introduced with the S24 Ultra—has started to come down as production processes mature. Likewise, display costs have eased slightly from their peak in the previous generation, thanks to better manufacturing efficiency.

On the connectivity front, Samsung has managed to trim more than 10% in hardware costs by consolidating radio components, replacing older multi-part solutions with a newer single-chip transceiver. Even the camera setup, despite an upgraded 50MP ultrawide lens, ended up costing less overall—helped by the shift from a 10x to a 5x periscope zoom lens.

In all, the 3.4% rise in BoM costs for the S25 Ultra reflects a mix of minor upgrades and cost-saving trade-offs. Samsung seems to be walking a fine line between innovation and affordability, keeping the device competitive without dramatically raising the price for consumers.

Whether this balance holds in future models remains to be seen—but for now, Samsung appears to be absorbing rising costs where it matters most.
