Nubia has officially launched the Nubia Pad Pro for global markets, following its debut in China earlier this year. The tablet enters the premium Android slate segment with high-end hardware, a slim all-metal build, and modern productivity features.

The Nubia Pad Pro features a 10.9-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, resulting in a sharp 309 PPI density. It is a 10-bit panel certified for ZREAL True Color HD, promising rich and accurate colors for both productivity and media consumption.

Samsung is racing to bring its 2nm chipmaking tech to primetime. According to a Korean report, the company’s System LSI and Foundry divisions are now in full prototype production of the Exynos 2600, the next-generation mobile processor expected to power the Galaxy S26 early next year. More importantly, its notoriously tricky 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process is finally starting to yield results, quite literally.
Earlier this year, Samsung’s 2nm yields hovered around a worrying 30%. But after months of aggressive R&D, the company is now targeting yields above 50% without compromising performance.
That’s a critical step, though still short of the 70% threshold typically required for cost-effective mass production. The clock is ticking: Samsung needs to lock in stable yields fast if it wants to avoid the production delays that dogged the Exynos 2500.
Risk production of the Exynos 2600 is slated to begin by year’s end, following the current full prototype production phase that is helping Samsung refine both performance and yield. This stage serves as a critical proving ground before mass production ramps up just two or three months ahead of the Galaxy S26’s February launch. The stakes are high.
For Samsung’s System LSI unit, the Exynos 2600 represents a shot at revitalizing the Exynos brand after years of reliance on Qualcomm chips. For Samsung Foundry, it is the first real-world showcase of its 2nm GAA technology, with global clients watching closely.
Rumors suggest Samsung is also courting Qualcomm to fab Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chips for Galaxy phones using its 2nm process, though nothing is confirmed. Meanwhile, TSMC already started taking 2nm wafer orders in April, adding urgency to Samsung’s efforts.
If Samsung can nail this transition, it could finally shake its reputation for lagging behind TSMC at the bleeding edge of chip manufacturing. For now, all eyes are on how Exynos 2600 performs on the path to mass production.

Samsung just dodged a major legal blow over its Galaxy S22 lineup. A Seoul court has ruled on a class-action lawsuit filed by nearly 1,900 users who accused the company of hiding performance throttling tied to its Game Optimizing Service (GOS). The verdict is in, but it’s not what plaintiffs hoped for.
On June 12, 2025, the Seoul Central District Court dismissed the claims of 1,882 Galaxy S22 owners, each seeking 300,000 won (roughly $221) in damages. The plaintiffs alleged that Samsung misled buyers by promoting the S22’s gaming power, all while secretly capping performance through GOS.
For those unfamiliar, GOS is a software layer that throttles frame rates and responsiveness in high-performance games to control power consumption and overheating—especially critical for the S22’s Exynos variants, which were less power-efficient. Although GOS has been around since the Galaxy S7, Samsung made it mandatory in the S22 series, removing previous workarounds. That move triggered a backlash, as many felt the phone didn’t deliver the compute Samsung had advertised.
After more than three years in court, the judge acknowledged Samsung’s ads may have given users the impression of limitless performance, even though GOS placed real limits on certain demanding tasks. Still, the court ultimately sided with Samsung, ruling that the plaintiffs couldn’t prove financial loss or real impact.
One key point: the court said GOS only affects a small number of high-performance games and doesn’t interfere with most apps or daily usage. Without proof that users regularly relied on affected apps—or that they would have chosen a different phone if they’d known about GOS—the case didn’t hold up.
The court also rejected the idea that Samsung broke consumer protection laws by failing to disclose GOS, concluding that the feature likely wasn’t critical enough to influence the average buyer’s decision. What’s new in Android 16?
Whether or not your device has received the update, it’s important to understand what the upgrade has to offer. We have compiled a list below that includes the most significant changes in Android 16.
1. Live Updates
Android 16 introduces “Live Updates”, allowing users to track activities like food delivery, ride-shares, and navigation directly on the notification panel or lock screen without opening the app.
This feature works similarly to Apple’s Dynamic Island. Many Android brands, including Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus, have already implemented their versions of Dynamic Island on their phones. More recently, it has also arrived on Samsung devices with the One UI 7 update. Now, the feature is natively baked into Android 16 as Live Updates.
2. Advanced protection
It’s Google’s most robust, unified security suite for mobile devices. It’s not a single security feature but a suite of strong security features that can be activated in a few taps to enable multiple layers of defense, protecting you from online attacks, harmful apps, unsafe websites, scam calls, and other harmful activities.
Enabling Advanced Protection automatically activates critical security features, including Device Theft Protection, App Protection, Theft Protection, Web Protection, USB Protection, and more. This feature enforces a “defense-in-depth” strategy, ensuring that all security layers remain active and cannot be individually disabled.
3. Better app compatibility and productivity on larger devices
Android 16 also brings the much-needed Adaptive Apps feature, which allows apps to automatically adjust their layouts and functionality to fit various screen sizes, including foldables, tablets, and large displays. It addresses the issue where apps previously did not scale well on larger screens.
In collaboration with Samsung, Google has developed a desktop windowing feature that’s packed into Android 16. It allows users to run multiple apps in resizable, movable windows, similar to a desktop OS like Windows, enhancing productivity on larger-screen devices.
4. A refreshed look with Material 3 Expressive
Android 16 debuts the new Material 3 Expressive design, featuring rounder app icons, new color accents, a redesigned settings menu, updated fonts, and sleeker media controls. These changes make the interface look more modern and visually appealing.
5. Battery Health indicator
Among the most valuable additions is “Battery health,” but the specific functionality depends on the Pixel model you own.

Battery capacity (Pixel 8a and newer)
If you have a Pixel 8a or newer model, you will get a “Battery capacity” option in the Battery > Battery health after upgrading to Android 16. It shows the estimated percentage of the charge the battery can currently hold compared to a new standard battery.
The Battery health sections also show one of these battery health statuses:
Normal: Battery capacity is within normal limits.
Reduced: Battery reached capacity is below 80% (Google recommends considering a battery replacement).
Unavailable: Can’t determine your battery status.
Battery health assistance (Pixel 6a and newer)
There’s also a new Battery health assistance available on Pixel 6a and newer devices running Android 16. This feature is designed to manage your battery’s long-term health and performance.
According to Google, this feature works by adjusting “battery’s maximum voltage in stages that start at 200 charge cycles and continue gradually until 1000 charge cycles to help stabilize battery performance and aging.” It also adjusts the phone’s charging speed based on adjusted capacity.

OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 15.0.0.830 update for the OnePlus 13R in India. The update is being released in batches through an incremental OTA rollout.

The update brings several new features and improvements. In gaming, a new Game Camera lets users take live screenshots and record flashback clips during gameplay. For apps, a new Drag & drop feature is now available. It allows gesture-based actions on images and text in third-party apps. Users can enable this under Settings, Accessibility & convenience, and Drag & drop.

Samsung is trying its best to push the boundaries of chip technology with its Exynos 2600, now in mass production. Expected to power the Galaxy S26 series in 2026, this chip could mark a historic milestone as the first 2nm smartphone SoC.
The South Korean giant has kicked off prototype mass production of the Exynos 2600, built on its “cutting-edge” SF2 2nm process, aiming to make it the world’s first 2nm smartphone chip. According to a report out of South Korea, the chip is set to drive the Galaxy S26 and S26+, expected to launch around February 2026, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely stick with a standard Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, not the custom “For Galaxy” variant used in past flagships. This follows Samsung’s pattern, as seen with the Galaxy S24 series, where the Ultra model relied on a Snapdragon chipset.
The Exynos 2600’s journey isn’t without hurdles. Samsung is said to be targeting a 50% yield rate for its SF2 node, up from 40% reported earlier, but full-scale production requires yields above 60%—a goal not expected until late 2025. Last year’s Exynos 2500 faced similar yield issues on the SF3 node, delaying its debut to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in mid-July, while the large-screen Galaxy Z Fold 7 is confirmed to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Google’s Pixel 10 series is rumored to include a somewhat unique charging feature: Qi2 wireless charging with magnetic capabilities. Leaks suggest the Pixel 10 series could join the HMD Skyline as the only Android phones with proper Qi2 support, complete with a new “Pixelsnap” accessory lineup.
Back in January, Google hinted at future Qi2 support, and now a leak from Android Authority, based on credible marketing materials, confirms the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro will embrace Qi2.2, including the optional magnets that enable seamless attachment of accessories. This move brings Google closer to Apple’s MagSafe ecosystem, which has popularized magnetic chargers and stands since the iPhone 12.

The Pixel 10 series will reportedly use the ConvenientPower CPS4041 chip, supporting up to 60W wireless charging with the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP), though Google may cap speeds for efficiency or thermal reasons.

Samsung is acting fast this year with One UI 8 development — something it lacked pretty badly with the previous version. The brand has already kicked off the One UI 8 beta program for select Galaxy devices, and the stable release is also confirmed to arrive much earlier than the usual timeline. Here’s everything you need to know about One UI 8, including the release timeline, eligible devices, and the latest changes.
One UI 8 release timeline
Samsung hasn’t announced a release date for One UI 8. However, it has confirmed that the new version will begin rolling out to eligible devices “this summer.” That means anything between June and September.
The brand has also confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be the first devices to come with stable One UI 8. Although the launch date remains undisclosed, reports suggest that these foldables will be released in July 2025.
While the One UI 8 release date has not been confirmed, it’s pretty clear that the update will arrive much earlier than last year. This isn’t very surprising, as Google has already released the stable version of Android 16, and it shouldn’t take more than a few weeks for other brands to release the update with their custom skins (such as One UI) on the top.
The stable release is at least a month away, but you can get early hands-on with the newest software via the One UI 8 beta program. The prerequisites are: you must have a Galaxy S25 model and that you’re living in a supported region (read more about it here).
One UI 8 doesn’t bring major changes like One UI 7, but still, there are many useful additions and improvements to look forward to. Here are the major highlights of One UI 8.
1. Enhanced productivity and multitasking
One UI 8 brings a dedicated full screen layout for Quick Share. Tapping on the icon in the Quick Settings panel triggers the “Ready to receive” action. There’s also a “Send” tab that allows you to send files without needing to use a different app.
The split screen has become more useful with the latest changes. You can now stretch one app to as much as you want, previously limited to around 70% of the screen. When you tap the minimized app, it takes the larger space, and the other app gets minimized.
Samsung Dex also gets nice upgrades. It now allows users to change the screen resolution. The display rotation can also be tweaked, which is particularly helpful when you want to use a monitor vertically.
2. Personalization and automation
The update brings new dynamic live wallpapers that change the colors based on the time. They are usually bright and colorful during the day and gradually transition to a darker theme as the sun sets. Although not a major thing, it’s a nice quality-of-life improvement.
One UI 7 introduced significant changes to modes and routines, and the new version builds upon that. It brings new routines, such as Cold weather alert, Morning briefing, and Umbrella reminder.
The latest changes make it easier to customize a Profile Card by displaying the full layout while making changes.
3. Redesigned and smarter apps
One UI 8 brings meaningful changes to many apps, making them more useful, easier to use, and offering a cleaner look. Take the Gallery app, for example: it automatically sorts screenshots into categories such as Boarding passes, Coupons, Shopping, and Locations for quicker access.
The downloaded files in the My Files app now allow you to filter files based on the app from which they were downloaded. There are also some UI changes. The categories are now compact, making room for more content on the screen. The Weather app has also been updated with smoother animations and features hyper-realistic backgrounds.
The Reminder app receives a fresh, modern look, with categories displayed prominently at the top of the home screen in rounded boxes. The app now suggests templates or past reminders as you type, speeding up the process. There’s also a new toolbar that lets you add checkmarks, media, date, location, and assign reminders to categories directly from the input area.
The Calendar app isn’t left out, as it also gets several meaningful upgrades. It now features a cleaner, modern look with deeper black backgrounds for improved eye comfort. It’s now integrated with the Reminders app, and as a result, you can now create reminders directly from the Calendar app. This simplifies task and schedule management.
Another helpful feature is that you can easily reschedule reminders in the Calendar app by dragging and dropping them to new dates.
4. Privacy and accessibility
The Secure Folder gets more secure in One UI 8 with the latest features. You can now assign a different fingerprint to access the Secure Folder. You can also hide other apps within for additional protection. One UI 8 allows users to completely hide Secure Folder, which means it won’t show any notifications or appear in app suggestions.
One UI 8 also brings several accessibility improvements, such as zooming the screen with buttons, controlling mouse actions with a keyboard, magnifying the onscreen keyboard, and pairing Bluetooth hearing ads directly from Accessibility settings.
5. Other notable improvements
The Camera app now lets you customize the swipe-down/swipe-up action to open the camera controls; previously, it was limited to camera switching. One UI 8 also makes it easier to connect multiple Bluetooth audio devices by allowing other users to scan the QR code to join the audio.
Users can now control all alarms in a group directly from a Home screen widget. Also, they can add existing alarms to groups. The Samsung Health app gets a nice addition that lets you challenge friends to fitness goals. The app also reminds you to have good, provided that you have set it up already.
