So while this might seem like an expensive deal, the V50 on the Elite bundle is the 12GB + 512GB storage configuration.

As expected,Oppo today officially launched the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro smartphones in China. Both phones bring a MediaTek chipset under the helm, along with an OLED display and battery capacity of over 6000mAh. Here are the complete details.

The standard Reno 14 features a 6.59-inch flat LTPS OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1200 nits peak brightness. It carries an IP66/68/69 rating for dust and water resistance, and the frame is metal with a velvet-textured glass back.
Oppo is offering the phone in three finishes: Mermaid, Half Summer Green, and Reef Black. The phone weighs 187g and is 7.32mm thick.
Inside is a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 processor with a reported benchmark score of over 1.4 million. The chip is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, with configurations ranging from 12/256GB to 16GB/1TB.

Qualcomm might be changing course with its mid-cycle chipset strategy. According to a leak from the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the company has no plans to release a Snapdragon 8s Gen 5 in 2026.
That would be a break from a trend Qualcomm has followed for the past two years, where “s” variants of its flagship chips have been used to power slightly more affordable smartphones without fully committing to flagship pricing.
The current Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, labeled internally as SM8735, was launched as a step-down alternative to the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite. Similarly, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 (SM8635) played that role in 2024. But this pattern might not continue.
No Snapdragon 8s Gen 5 next year
According to the leak, Qualcomm has no chip with the expected SM8835 designation in development. That suggests the company is skipping the 8s Gen 5 entirely and focusing instead on its full-fledged Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or SM8850.
Without an 8s Gen 5, the so-called “sub-flagship” smartphones — models that typically land just under the premium tier — might be forced to adopt older flagship processors.
The tipster claims that many upcoming devices will instead turn to the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite. While that chip is expected to become cheaper over time, it will likely remain more expensive than a dedicated mid-tier “s” variant would have been.

Back in March, a report hinted that Huawei is working on a PC with an “unexpected new form factor.” The device was described as something between a PC, a tablet, and a smartphone, though there are no images to clarify exactly what that means.

The device is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is clocked at 4.32GHz. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE, expected in September or October 2025, will finally upgrade its selfie camera to 12MP, matching the standard S25 series. After two years of stagnant 10MP front cameras, the brand is finally upgrading it with a higher resolution, though the 50MP main sensor remains unchanged.
Samsung’s Fan Edition (FE) line, known for delivering flagship-like features at a much lower price, is getting a much-needed selfie camera upgrade with the Galaxy S25 FE. According to GalaxyClub, the upcoming model will sport a 12MP front-facing camera, aligning the resolution with the Galaxy S25 and S25 Ultra. This marks the first selfie camera improvement since the Galaxy S21 FE (32MP, 1/2.74″), as both the S23 FE and S24 FE stuck with a 10MP sensor, which measures 1/3.0″.
While the resolution bump is expected to deliver crisper selfies and better low-light performance, the 12MP sensor is slightly smaller (1/3.2″ vs 1/3.0″), which makes it counterintuitive. Still, much of what makes a good selfie comes down to image processing—and Samsung can likely reuse its S25-series algorithms here. So, even if calling it an “upgrade” is debatable, the S25 FE should still offer a noticeably better front camera experience.
The rear camera stays familiar
The S25 FE is expected to retain the 50MP primary sensor used in the S23 FE and S24 FE, paired with a 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto. Powered by Exynos 2400e or Dimensity 9400, the S25 FE should offer a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and a 4,900mAh battery with 45W charging.
