ASUS V16 (V3607) Launched with RTX 5060 GPU, 144Hz Display, and Up to Intel Core i7

ASUS has launched the new V16 (V3607), a 16-inch laptop aimed at entry-level gamers and creators. It is powered by up to an Intel Core i7 240H processor (10 cores, 16 threads, up to 5.2GHz) or the Intel Core i5 210H (8 cores, 12 threads, up to 4.8GHz). Graphics go up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU.

The display is a 16.0-inch Full HD (1920 x 1200) IPS panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 144Hz refresh rate, and 45% NTSC color gamut. It has a 300-nit brightness and LED backlight.

The laptop supports up to 32GB of 5600MHz DDR5 RAM using two SO-DIMM slots. Storage options include 512GB or 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. Ports include one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.1 FRL port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack, and a DC-in power port.

The webcam is a 720p HD camera with a physical privacy shutter. The touchpad uses Mylar, and the keyboard is full-sized with a single-zone backlight and 1.7mm key travel. ASUS SonicMaster powers audio with built-in Dirac sound and an AI noise-canceling microphone array.

It comes with a 63Wh battery and a 150W AC adapter. The laptop weighs 1.95 kg and measures 357.0 x 250.9 x 18.0–22.0mm. The V16 is built for durability and meets the MIL-STD-810H standard.

Galaxy S25 FE to bring One UI 8—but its chipset will disappoint you

Samsung is prepping the Galaxy S25 FE, the fifth model in its S25 lineup, for a late 2025 launch, per GalaxyClub. Codenamed R13 with model SM-S731B, this Fan Edition phone is expected to ship with Android 16-based One UI 8, aligning with Samsung’s foldables debuting in July.

The Galaxy S25 FE, following the S24 FE’s October 2024 release, is shaping up as an affordable alternative to Samsung’s flagship S25 series, launched in January 2025. GalaxyClub reports the S25 FE’s codename R13 and model SM-S731B, continuing the FE lineage from the S23 FE (SM-S711B/S721B). It’s slated for a Q3 or Q4 2025 release, likely September or October.

Exynos 2400e to be reused this year

Unlike the S25 trio’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, the S25 FE will reportedly stick with the Exynos 2400e, the same 4nm chip powering the S24 FE. For those unfamiliar, it’s a trimmed-down version of the Exynos 2400 of the S24 and S24+, which you can read more about here.

The Exynos 2500 (and its 2500e variant) likely isn’t ready yet, which may explain why Samsung is sticking with the 2400e for now. While its performance is respectable, it still falls short of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in power efficiency. The S24 FE’s 6.7-inch AMOLED (1,900 nits) and 4,700mAh battery set a high bar—expect similar or slightly upgraded specs.

One UI 8, based on Android 16, will likely debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in July, bringing revamped apps and AI video summaries. The S25 FE’s later launch ensures it ships with this software. Nonetheless, some fans question the Exynos reuse. Can Samsung’s tweaks to cameras or design offset the older chip? Only time will tell.

Two smartphones priced around Rs 20,000 that are worth considering during the event are the Oppo K13 and Vivo T4 — one major reason being that both phones pack a huge 7,000mAh+ battery. But which phone truly delivers better value? Here’s a detailed comparison to help you decide.

Battery life is a major strength for both. The Vivo T4 5G offers a 7,300mAh battery with 90W fast charging and 7.5W reverse charging. It uses a silicon-carbon anode battery for better energy density and quicker charging.

The Oppo K13 5G houses a slightly smaller but still massive 7,000mAh battery supported by 80W fast charging, using graphite battery technology rated for 1800+ charging cycles.

The brand responded to this with a Google representative confirming that the team is aware of this issue and is working on a solution, which you “can expect updates later this year.”

While Samsung is a leading smartphone brand across the globe, it is the Chinese companies that are known for pushing innovation. However, Samsung might be working on a cool new smartphone with a possible modular design for its camera system.

A patent from the South Korean tech giant has revealed a possible Galaxy device that might feature a modular design. The patent was filed with the WIPO and carries the publication number WO/2025/084594 (Via 91Mobiles). Looking at the document, we can see design sketches that showcase a device with what appears to be a replaceable lens system. It lists a device that holds all the components, a lens assembly unit, an image sensor, and a motor/actuator that allows for movement of the lens assembly or image sensor.

This could allow users to adjust focus or zoom, and possibly include stabilization or alignment as well. The replaceable lens is apparently a built in solution, rather than offering an accessory that snaps onto a smartphone like the Vivo X200 Ultra. Users might be able to interchange lenses via magnets. Considering how the new lens system is built, it might allow for improved camera controls while also bringing access to additional replaceable accessories.

Unfortunately, the details are still at large, and we can only see the replaceable lens and image sensor. So it is unclear whether other accessories are also part of this system. Samsung could simply be covering all bases and may never build such a gadget.

Coming to individual scores, the CPU score is about 36% higher, but the real difference shows up in the GPU scores—where the 7+ Gen 3 offers a massive 144% boost in graphics performance. Memory performance is also up by 92%, while the UX score sees a 50% improvement.

However, that power comes at the cost of stability — its 54.6% stability indicates significant thermal throttling under sustained load. In contrast, the 7s Gen 3 remains incredibly consistent with 99.2% stability, though its performance ceiling is much lower.

Now that we’ve seen benchmark results, let’s break down the differences to understand the reason behind a significant gap in performance and other differences that really matter.

CPU

Both are octa-core processors built using TSMC’s 4nm process, yet they differ in terms of architecture and core setup. The 7+ Gen 3, for instance, uses 1+4+3 core configuration, featuring one high-performance Cortex-X4 core, four Cortex-A720 performance cores, and three Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.

On the other hand, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 uses 1+3+4, sacrificing one performance core over an efficiency core. It has one high-performance Cortex-A720 core, three Cortex-A720 performance cores, and four Cortex-A520 efficiency cores.

The Cortex-X4 in the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is a flagship-class core with superior performance and power efficiency than Cortex-A720. It also runs at a higher speed, making it suitable for demanding applications.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 has an Adreno 732 GPU, while the 7s Gen 3 brings an Adreno 810. At first glance, it may seem like the latter has a powerful GPU, but the reality is just the opposite. The Adreno 732 has higher shading units, total shaders, floating point operations per second (FLOPS), memory bandwidth, and pipelines, which translates to superior graphics capabilities. That means the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 devices will have significantly better gaming performance as compared to Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 devices.

Connectivity

The two also have notable differences in connectivity. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, for instance, has an X63 5G modem that offers up to 5 Gbps download speed and up to 3 Gbps upload speed, whereas the 7s Gen 3’s modem (Qualcomm has not revealed its name) has a much lower peak download speed of 2.9 Gbps.

The same goes for a Wi-Fi connection, which offers up to 5.8 Gbps speed on the 7+ Gen 3 but is limited up to 2.9 Gbps on the 7s Gen 3. Additionally, the 7+ Gen 3 chip also supports Wi-Fi 7, offering lower latency and better performance in crowded areas.

The only thing that favours Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is a newer Bluetooth v5.4 standard versus v5.3 on the other chip.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 clearly wins all cards over the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, with a big margin. It has a superior CPU and GPU that crushes the other chip on multiple benchmarks. Plus, the chip supports Wi-Fi 7 and allows significantly higher download and upload speeds for reliable connectivity, even in crowded environments.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is clearly a no-brainer pick over the 7s Gen 3. However, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 still holds its own for budget-conscious buyers. It delivers respectable day-to-day performance and shines in sustained workloads with excellent thermal stability. So, If you’re after the best performance without jumping to a flagship chip, the 7+ Gen 3 is the obvious winner. But for casual users who prioritize efficiency and value, the 7s Gen 3 still makes a solid case.

Samsung’s budget Galaxy A26 is getting cheaper with a new 6GB RAM variant

Samsung is making one of its latest budget smartphones a little more affordable in the Indian market. The Galaxy A26 first debuted back in March 2025 with some capable specs and features. But the base variant arrived with 8GB of RAM, but the new Galaxy A26 base option is becoming more affordable thanks to a 6GB variant. So let’s check it out.

Samsung Galaxy A26: What’s in the new variant?

The South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy A26 was first announced for a starting price tag of 24,999 INR for the 8GB + 128GB option. On the other hand, the higher end 8GB + 256GB variant costs 27,999 INR. Samsung’s Galaxy A26 5G is already on sale on the brand’s official website and offline stores. Buyers can also purchase this device in four color options, namely Peach, Mint, White, and Black.

But now, the Galaxy A26 is going on sale in a fresh 6GB + 128GB model that costs just 23,499 INR. Apart from the RAM and pricing, it is identical to the other storage configurations. So users still get an Exynos 1380 SoC under the hood. The latest Galaxy A series phone sports a tall 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for protection.

A sizeable 5,000mAh battery pack powers this model, which supports 25W wired fast charging. Out of the box, this model runs on the Android 15 OS One UI 7 custom skin with Samsung promising up to 6 Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches as well. For photography, the rear has a 50MP (Main) + 8MP (Ultra wide) + 2MP (Macro) camera setup, while the front houses a 13MP selfie shooter. Other notable features include a side mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, and stereo speakers.

Redmi Turbo 4 Pro Quick Review: Good Value For the Money!

This is the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. At first sight, everyone will be asking: Is it an iPhone 16? Yeah I kind of had the same question in my head when I first got my hands on it. Anyway, there are three highlights on this phone, first, the design, then the SnapDragon 8S Gen 4, and the massive 7550mAh battery.

Now this phone could be a POCO phone in the future, but if you want it right now, you can buy it from Geekwills, with a very friendly starting price. And there is a Harry Potter edition of it.

Design

In fact, this phone is just a Pro version that gets rid of some elements from the Turbo 4, which makes it more minimalist. The back panel, they call it soft matte glass, is indeed very fine and smooth, and it does not show fingerprints that easily. It is completely flat, and the frame extends a little bit to the back panel, so the feel in hand is very good.

Speaking of the frame, it is made of aluminum alloy with a very delicate finish. I know many of you were expecting a metal frame on the Turbo series, and finally it’s here, this makes the overall feel even better than the K series from Redmi. Lastly, like the special white version of the Turbo 4, the ring lights around the cameras are kept, to be used as notifications. You can customize the color and brightness of it, a good design to have.

At the front, the screen is also flat, 1.5K, 3200nits peak brightness at a 25% window, along with some other features. The lower bezel is 0.4mm thicker than the upper bezel, and honestly, I can’t really tell the difference, even after looking at it for a long time.   

The phone is 6.83”, meaning a Pro Max size. Not iPhone 16 like now, huh!   

So overall, it has a better design than you wouldn’t expect, and certainly worth the price tag so far.

Performance

Of course, the performance is the main thing when you look at the Turbo series. This phone comes with SnapDragon 8S Gen4, a 4nm processor, the first phone that comes with this chipset. The 8S Gen3 had a overall good reputation, so what about this 8S Gen4?

We ran Genshin Impact on it, the frame rate was maintained at 60FPS for the first 15mins, then it dropped to 50FPS in the last min. And the average power consumption is 6.3W. This performance is not the best, but since it’s close to the 8 Gen 3, it meets the expectation. And right after the test, the temp of the phone, front and back, got to 49 degrees Celsius. Which is a figure that my hands can’t stand anymore. What do you think about the performance? Let us know in the comment section.

For gaming, of course there is the Wild Boost mode for it, along with some gamer exclusive features.  

Battery

Then the battery size is 7550mAh, bigger than the Turbo 4. Here is a table for a comparison with other phones released recently. As you can see, the regular phone battery capacity has stepped to 7000+mAh level, and this Turbo 4 Pro is taking the lead right now, it is safe to say without any real power use, it can last for 2 days without any problem.

It also comes with a 90W charger, it can charge the battery to full in about 50mins. It also supports 22.5W reverse charging, so it can definitely save your buddy’s iPhone and some earbuds without a problem. I’d say Redmi is very confident with the battery this time, and maybe this kind of high power reverse charging will be a standard in the future.

Overall Experience

The fingerprint unlock area is very close to the bottom, not quite a friendly design, but understandable as a budget-friendly phone.

The camera combo is exactly like the Turbo 4, nothing has changed. Here are some quick shots of the phone.

The HyperOS 2 on this phone feels very smooth, and the animation is very well designed.

Verdict

So overall, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro is a phone that has a redefined design, with a flat screen and back panel, an aluminum frame, you would love to see these. And then it comes with 8S Gen4 processor and a massive 7550mAh battery, which will make day-to-day use and gaming a lot better. Still the camera performance is average. Nothing phones that are eligible for Android 16 update

Nothing was quick with the Android 15 rollout. The brand wrapped it up months before many other Android brands. But, several brands, including Samsung and Infinix, are still busy sending out Android 15 updates to their devices. This could soon become an old thing as Google is gearing up for the Android 16 release faster than OS releases in recent years.

Interestingly, Nothing isn’t mentioned on the Android 16 beta partners list that Google shared with the Android 16 Beta 4 release. It was there last year for Android 15 beta. This could mean that users might have to wait longer for the beta releases, but not necessarily a delay in the stable release. I’m still hopeful that Nothing will be one of the first non-Google brands to push a stable Android 16 update.

Google has announced that stable Android 16 will be released in the second quarter, with many reports believing that it could arrive as early as May 2025. Either way, we are close to it; hence, it is the right time to check if your Nothing device is actually eligible for the next big upgrade. We’ve prepared the list below.

Hence, it’s not eligible for Android 16 and future OS upgrades unless Nothing wants to surprise users with an extra OS release.

If you have any Nothing Phone other than the original Phone (1), you are guaranteed to get the Android 16 update when it rolls out. However, we aren’t sure if the Nothing OS version will see a bump to OS 4.0, knowing that Android 14 arrived with Nothing OS 2.5, not OS 3.0.

We are yet to hear anything about Android 16 from Nothing, but Google has already confirmed that the upcoming OS will bring progress-centric notifications, improved photo picker with support for cloud media providers, rich haptics, Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec, and improvements to predictive back, adaptive refresh rate, camera, and Health Connect. While these features and improvements are part of Android 16, it’s the smartphone brand that decides which ones to integrate into their devices.
