Huang attended events in Nvidia’s Shenzhen and Beijing offices, including a Spring Festival celebration in Beijing. Praising the team, he highlighted Nvidia China’s low turnover rate of 0.9%, compared to a global average of 2%. Over the years, Nvidia’s workforce in China has grown by more than 50%, reaching nearly 4,000 employees. Huang acknowledged the employees’ loyalty and significant contribution to Nvidia’s global success.
China’s Role in Nvidia’s Growth
China is a crucial market for Nvidia, contributing $5.4 billion in revenue during Q3 FY2024, a 34% year-over-year increase. The region accounts for 17% of Nvidia’s total revenue and remains one of the company’s largest markets after the US and Singapore. Nvidia has collaborated with over 3,000 Chinese start-ups and supports 1.5 million local developers using CUDA, its proprietary AI programming platform.

Huang’s visit also fueled speculation about Nvidia’s potential Asia-Pacific headquarters, with Taiwan being a possible location. As China continues to focus on technological self-reliance, Huang emphasized Nvidia’s role in modernizing the sector and reaffirmed the company’s dedication to supporting innovation and collaboration.
The launch of the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G model in the Indian market might just have been confirmed. While the brand has yet to officially announce any availability details, the upcoming mid range phone was spotted on a key Indian certification platform.
Samsung Galaxy A36 5G arriving in India soon
Samsung Galaxy A36 5G Leaked Renders
The South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy A36 5G model was spotted on the BIS certification (Bureau of Indian Standards). It can be seen carrying the SM-A366E/DS model number (via MySmartPrice). The DS in the model number basically confirms support for dual SIM cards. Unfortunately, this does not reveal any finer details like its specifications, pricing, design, or more. But the BIS listing does confirm that it is arriving in India soon.
Earlier this month, the new Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 had their global support page go live. It was listed in France and later surfaced in other regions. A couple of months ago, the Samsung Galaxy A36 is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera on the rear like its predecessor. Meanwhile, the front is expected to house a 12MP selfie shooter. The back may include two more sensors, which could include an 8MP ultra wide angle lens and a 5MP macro camera.
Based on what we know so far, the Samsung Galaxy A36 may be equipped with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or possibly the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 that could be paired with 6GB of RAM. This model may run on the Android 15 OS based One UI 7 custom skin. The Galaxy A36 5G was also spotted in high quality renders, which revealed a Galaxy Note 10-like design. While the battery capacity is still unclear, the device may support 45W wired fast charging.
China has announced a new subsidy scheme to encourage consumer purchases of digital products, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. The subsidy will be effective starting January 20th, 2025.
Government Subsidies Slash Smartphone Prices Nationwide
This initiative aims to make these digital products more affordable for consumers. Under the program, eligible products priced below 6,000 yuan ($820) will receive a one-time subsidy covering 15% of the product’s sales price after the retailer’s discount. Each consumer can receive a maximum subsidy of 500 yuan ($68) per item, with a limit of one subsidized item per category for each customer.
The subsidy plan is expected to stimulate market consumption and increase sales in the digital product sector. It can also boost consumer confidence, encouraging greater willingness to spend. This will help establish a virtuous cycle that further invigorates the consumer market.
In anticipation of the subsidy rollout, various smartphone brands have adjusted their pricing strategies. For instance, the iPhone 16 Plus has dropped in price from 6,999 yuan ($956) to 5,999 yuan ($820), enabling it to qualify for the subsidy. The 128GB version of the iPhone 16 is expected to retail at approximately 4,999 yuan ($683) on platforms like JD.com, resulting in a post-subsidy price of around 4,499 yuan ($615).
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has also positioned itself as a major player in the subsidy-driven market. The Redmi Turbo 4 and K80 series now start at just 1,699 yuan ($232) post-subsidy, offering consumers high-performance options at competitive prices. For instance, the Redmi K80 Pro 16GB+1TB configuration, which originally cost 4,799 yuan ($656), is now available for 4,299 yuan ($588) after the maximum subsidy of 500 yuan.
This subsidy program is expected to create more development opportunities for the relevant industrial chain. The sales increase driven by the purchase subsidy will also create new growth for the upstream supply chain, leading to business expansion in related fields.
Realme is gearing up to launch new budget mid range smartphones in India soon. These models are expected to be a part of the Realme P3 series. But right ahead of any official announcement, the Realme P3x 5G version was spotted in a fresh leak and certification.
Realme P3x 5G: Storage & Color Variants for the Indian Model
The upcoming budget smartphone from the Chinese brand first surfaced on a tip from known leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore (Via MySmartPrice). This model reportedly carries the RMX3944 model number. As per the tipster, the Realme P3x 5G will launch in three storage configurations, namely 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB variants. The upcoming phone will also launch with three color options, namely Lunar Silver, Stellar Pink, and Midnight Blue.
Realme P2 Pro
Realme P3x 5G Camera FV-5
The same RMX3944 model number even made its way to the Camera FV-5 database. Apparently, the Realme P3x 5G will pack a 1.6MP primary camera on the rear with an f/1.9 aperture. This listing likely includes pixel binning, so the actual resolution of the image sensor is higher. Considering it is a budget phone, it skips any form of image stabilization. So you’re not getting OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) or EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization).
The primary camera on the Realme P3x will offer manual focus, a Pro mode, long exposure shots of up to 32 seconds, and an ISO range of 100 to 6400. Realme’s upcoming P3x model still doesn’t have an official launch date. However, these devices are expected to launch in India sometime next month. This is all the information we have at the moment, so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.

Just a day ago, TikTok faced a ban in the US that prevented the service from over 170 million users. But within a day of the ban, this restriction has been lifted in the region. The company just shared the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) and showed its gratitude to US President Donald Trump.
TikTok Ban Lifted in the US
In a tweet, the social media giant shared an official statement where it thanked President Trump for helping TikTok in resuming its service to over 170 million American users. The company shared that the government provided the necessary clarity and assurance of no penalties being levied on TikTok for continuing its operation in the region. This would even allow over 7 million small businesses to also resume their operations via the short video sharing platform.
TikTok further added that this is a “strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States”. For those unaware, the US Supreme Court enforced a ban on the app if it failed to divest the app by 19th January 2025. The move sparked criticism from many as they argued that it violated free speech and undermined democratic values.
Donald Trump was basically the last lifeline for the company and it seems that the negotiations have gone in favor of TikTok. TikTok services officially began around 12 MP ET on Sunday, with a message on the app stating “Welcome Back!” while also crediting Trump for restoring service. There are no other updates regarding ByteDance linked apps like CapCut and Marvel Snap, so stay tuned for more updates.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Galaxy S25 Slim May Pack 7-Core Variant Snapdragon 8 Elite
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
To recall, Qualcomm announced a new version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite with an SM8750-3-AB model number. This processor is basically being developed for either next gen foldable or upcoming ultra slim smartphones. The only major difference with the original version is that the new AP has one less CPU core. So instead of eight cores, the binned versions pack seven cores.
Out of these 2 are prime cores that run at a 4.32GHz clock speed, while the rest are five high performance cores that run at 3.53GHz frequency. This means that the seven core chipset won’t cost as much as the octa core Snapdragon 8 Elite. In other words, the brands would likely opt for this Snapdragon 8 Elite variant for budget flagship phones or new foldable devices. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S25 Slim would likely pack this new chipset. Another variant that could feature this processor is the Galaxy Z Fold 7 SE.
Snapdragon 8 Elite
For those unaware, this is a binned version of this chip so you can expect it to have slightly weaker performance than the standard variant. But this also means that the 7 core Snapdragon 8 Elite would offer better thermals, which could be key for foldable or super thin phones. The Oppo Find N5 was recently spotted on GeekBench with this chipset. Its performance was quite similar to the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite. So you likely aren’t missing out on much either.

Looks like Samsung’s not quite ready to roll out One UI 7 just yet. Instead, the Galaxy S24 series just got its second January 2025 update in South Korea—but it’s still based on One UI 6.1. While it’s always nice to see security and performance improvements, this update suggests the stable One UI 7 might need a little more time in the oven.
What’s in this new update?
The latest update is expected to be rolled out to other regions soon. The firmware (ending with AXL3) isn’t massive though. The package is only 377MB in size, and mainly focuses on security. It also includes the January 2025 security patch.
Galaxy S24 Ultra second January 2025 update based on One UI 6.1
The company has already revealed everything that’s included in its January 2025 update. It packs over 50 fixes, covering critical vulnerabilities identified by Google and Samsung. The company also tackled some tricky issues with components like the Bootloader, Notification Manager, and Messages app. So, while it’s not the shiny new One UI 7 update, it’s still important to keep your device up-to-date.
Where’s One UI 7?
Samsung’s been running its Beta Program since December 2024, with three Beta updates out so far. Beta 4 is rumored to be on the way, but this latest update suggests the stable version isn’t quite polished enough for public rollout.
But don’t worry—the wait might not be much longer. Samsung’s big event on January 22 is just days away, and they’re expected to announce more about the One UI 7 rollout, including which Galaxy devices will get it first.

When it does land, One UI 7 is expected to bring some exciting changes and improvements, so it’s worth waiting for. In the meantime, this second January update hints that Samsung taking its time to carefully iron out the final kinks in the new software.
So yeah, it’s a bit of a bummer that the stable release isn’t here yet. But for many, a more stable experience is more important than a mix of some new features, some bugs, and a relatively unstable experience overall. Here’s everything you need to know about One UI 7.0.
MediaTek typically launches two flagship mobile SoCs each year. The company introduced the Dimensity 9400 SoC back in October, and we’re expecting a slightly upgraded version, likely called the Dimensity 9400+, to debut sometime this year.
Now, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has revealed the expected launch timeframe of this upcoming SoC, along with details on potential upgrades.
MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ launch timeframe
According to DCS, the Dimensity 9400+ will feature the same ARM Cortex-X925 prime core as the regular 9400. But the clock speed is expected to see a jump from 3.62 GHz to 3.7 GHz.
Moreover, the tipster suggests that the processor will launch in March, with two smartphone brands reportedly preparing to introduce their first devices powered by it.
One of these devices is likely the Vivo X200s, as previous reports have also hinted that this phone will feature the same SoC. This also aligns with Vivo’s previous strategy, as its predecessor, the X100s, came equipped with the Dimensity 9300+ processor.
Meanwhile, the second phone the tipster may be referring to could be the Oppo Find X8S, based on recent leaks.
Specifications

Oppo is gearing up to unveil its next-generation foldable phone, the Oppo Find N5, in February in China. This foldable flagship promises substantial design enhancements over the 2023 Find N3. In a series of updates shared on Weibo, Oppo’s Find-series Product Manager, Zhou Yibao, teased the device’s industry-leading durability and extraordinary thinness compared to the iPhone 16 Pro.
Find N5 promises stellar durability
The above video highlights the Oppo Find N5’s unparalleled water resistance, offering support for IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings. This level of waterproofing is unique in the foldable segment, ensuring protection against splashes, immersion, and high-pressure water jets. The above video also confirms that the N5 supports underwater photography like recent Oppo phones such as the Find X8 series and the Reno 13 lineup.
The device is also constructed using a 3D titanium alloy hinge, making it lighter and sturdier than conventional aluminium-based foldable designs. This focus on durability sets a new benchmark for foldable smartphones.
Thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro
The Oppo Find N5 is being hailed as the thinnest foldable phone in the industry. With a folded thickness of less than 9.2mm and an unfolded thickness of just 4mm per side, it surpasses the iPhone 16 Pro, which measures 8.3mm. The images above show that, unlike the Find N3, there is no speaker alongside the USB-C port. However, Oppo Find N-series Product Manager Cheng Xiaoxue has clarified that the speaker is located on the bottom, on the other half of the device. Additionally, Yibao has hinted that the device weighs less than 230 grams, compared to the N3’s 239 grams.
In related news, the Oppo Find N5 recently surfaced on Geekbench, revealing it will arrive as the first device powered by the all-new 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The listing further revealed that it has 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and Android 15.
Other expected features include a 2K resolution foldable OLED screen, a triple-camera system with a 50-megapixel Hasselblad main sensor and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 5,700mAh battery with magnetic wireless charging support.
In global markets like the US, Europe, and India, the Oppo Find N5 may launch under the OnePlus branding as the OnePlus Open 2, offering a similar set of premium features and design upgrades.
Foldable phones are getting thinner and slimmer and Oppo seems to lead the way. The upcoming folding flagship that Oppo, the Oppo Find N5, is only slightly thicker than a USB-C port. This would mean that Oppo’s foldable phone will be the thinnest when it launches.

Zhou Yibao, Oppo’s product manager for the Find N series, posted some jaw-dropping images on Weibo that showcase the Find N5’s slim profile. For context, the iPhone 16 Pro measures 8.3 mm. Officially, the upcoming Oppo foldable is being marketed as the world’s thinnest foldable, and these teasers make that claim hard to dispute.
Oppo isn’t just shaving off millimeters for show, though. The Find N5 is known to be packing the following: wireless charging, a larger battery, a Hasselblad-tuned camera, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor (rumored to have 7 cores instead of 8).
Oppo has been teasing the device in China, where it’s expected to launch as early as February. The possible announcement may come a bit later for global fans, while rumors say that the teaser may be unveiled at the MWC in March as OnePlus Open 2. For the time being, all eyes are on the design of the Find N5. If it’s thinner than the Honor Magic V3, which measures 4.4 mm per side, it will also outclass the future iPhone 17 Air, rumored to be 5.5 mm thick.
What else do we know
Even with its super slim profile, the Find N5 doesn’t skimp on performance. The phone has already surfaced on Geekbench, and while its single-core performance is comparable to the Galaxy S25 Slim (with the same chip), it absolutely crushes the latter in multi-core performance, leading by nearly 2000 points. So, all the concern about overheating or a lack of performance is pretty much nullified.
If you’ve been waiting for a foldable that doesn’t compromise on design or power, the Oppo Find N5 might just be it. Let’s hope global markets get their hands on it sooner rather than later!
