GoPro confirms September 4th launch for Hero and Hero 13 Black

Following a string of leaks, GoPro has officially confirmed the launch date for its next generation of action cameras. A teaser video posted on the company’s X/Twitter account reveals September 4th as the big day for the unveiling of two new Hero models.

The confirmation comes alongside a leaked hands-on video from tipster Igor Bogdanov, giving us a good peek at the GoPro Hero 13 Black design.

The clip shows a front-mounted display with “13 BLACK” branding while the action cam has a familiar Power/Mode button next to the camera sensor and heatsink.

In terms of specs, leaks suggest the Hero 13 Black will retain the same 27MP sensor as its predecessor. The video recording capabilities will likely remain the same as well, with 5.3K at 60 FPS and 4K at 120 FPS. It’s also expected to carry over HyperSmooth 6.0 image stabilization and HDR features from the Hero 12 Black.

The biggest upgrade this year seems to be a larger 1,900 mAh battery that will replace the 1,720 mAh unit on the Hero 12 Black. Additionally, GoPro will likely expand its action cam accessory range with a macro and an ultra-wide lens attachment alongside a Floaty accessory and a protective sleeve.

GoPro Hero 13 Black Accessory

The second GoPro camera remains shrouded in more mystery. It could likely be a successor to the GoPro 11 Mini, and rumors suggest it will offer HyperSmooth stabilization and slow-motion video recording.

With the official launch date just two days away, we’ll soon have detailed information about both Hero action cams. But whether September 4th is the actual release or just an unveiling remains to be seen.

iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and more: what to expect from Apple’s next event

The iPhone 16 finally has a release date. Apple has confirmed that it will hold a launch event on September 9, where it is almost certain that we will see the company’s rumored new smartphones. The new iPhones are expected to come with important changes in and out, including better cameras and a new design.

For this event, Apple has chosen the slogan “It’s Glowtime”, which seems to refer to the AI functions that these devices will incorporate through Apple Intelligence. In fact, the design of the invitation is the company’s logo surrounded by the colors of Siri, which will also be powered by artificial intelligence.

The iPhone 16, however, is not the only product that we could see presented on September 9. The Cupertino company could also announce a new generation of other products. This is all we expect from Apple’s event.

1. iPhone 16 Series

Without a doubt, the star of Apple’s event will be the iPhone. Or rather, the iPhones. Apple is expected to launch four new iPhone 16 models. Starting with the base, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus

They will come with a slightly renewed design compared to their predecessors, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. They will still maintain the shape of the current models, with matte-finished rear glass and flat frames, but the camera module design will be similar to that of the iPhone X, in a vertical layout.

iPhone 16 Dummy Unit

On the other hand, Apple could opt for an A18 chip for these models, a processor that would be capable of running all the AI functions that will arrive with iOS 18.1.

Moving on, we will see the launch of the new iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. The Pro model will not have major changes in terms of design compared to the current models, beyond thinner front bezels. This would allow Apple to fit in a bigger 6.3 and 6.9-inch screen, respectively. In the case of the processor, Apple would choose a more powerful A18 Pro chip for these models.

iPhone 16 Pro Dummy Unit

All iPhone 16s will have Action Button support this year. It’s a customizable shortcut button on the side of the phone which Apple introduced last year with iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. Moreover, a camera-focused Capture Button is also expected to be included in the iPhone 16 series.

2. New Apple Watch Series 10

Apple is also expected to launch its new smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 10., at this event. It’s usual for a new Series smartwatch to tag along with new iPhones.

Rumors suggest the new wearable could arrive with a slimmer body and thin front bezels. Apple could also introduce a new 49mm size similar to the Apple Watch Ultra.

Given that the Apple Watch is turning 10, there have also been rumors of a special edition — something like an Apple Watch X — with a new design. However, it’s unclear whether we’ll see something like that, or if we’ll have to wait until 2025.

And speaking of the Ultra model, Apple doesn’t seem to be updating its most robust smartwatch with a new generation. Instead, the company could present an Apple Watch SE that is much cheaper than the current model thanks to a big change in its build. It will reportedly be housed in a plastic case, instead of aluminum, to make it cheaper.

3. AirPods 4

As expected, AirPods will also be one of the stars of Apple’s event on September 9. Apple is expected to announce new mid-range and entry-level AirPods 4 options (not pro) to continue competing in the true wireless headphone market.

One of them would come with similar features to the current third-generation AirPods, while the other variant would have active noise cancellation, but with slightly lower features than the AirPods Pro to put them on sale at a lower price.

Finally, it wouldn’t be strange to see a refresh of the AirPods Max, which could come with updated features compared to the current models. This includes a USB-C port instead of the Lightning connector, Bluetooth 5.3, an H2 chip for more features, and new colors.

4. Apple Intelligence

Apple’s focus on AI could extend from WWDC through its September event with dedicated Apple Intelligence features for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models.

It was previously reported that Apple Intelligence will play a key role in the announcement of the new devices, and we’re waiting to see what different features the company has planned for the new devices, which didn’t see the light of day in June at the company’s WWDC event.

5. iOS 18 and other software updates

Shortly after the event, Apple will release iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, and visionOS 2 build candidates to developers as part of its final wave of beta testing. Updates will be released shortly afterward, when devices hit shelves ahead of September 20.

The new software updates will feature all the features the company announced earlier this year, including several AI features that Apple announced at its WWDC event.

6. How to Watch

As usual, Apple will stream its latest event on the Apple Events website, on YouTube, and in the Apple TV app. There’s already an event scheduled on Apple’s YouTube channel. You can click or tap on the “Notify me” button to receive an alert before the stream begins.

Lenovo unveils Black Myth: Wukong co-branded 170W Gallium Nitride Charger

Lenovo‘s gaming brand, Lenovo Legion Savior, is collaborating with the action RPG “Black Myth: Wukong” to release a limited-edition gallium nitride (GaN) charger.

This co-branded adapter, the C170, is now available for reservation on JD.com in China, with sales starting on September 30th at 10:00 AM CST for 299 yuan (roughly USD 43). Let’s go through its details here.

Lenovo x Black Myth: Wukong GaN charger Specifications

Visually, the C170 departs from the typical understated aesthetic of GaN chargers. It features a unique design with a large, laser-etched golden “Y” logo, a signature element of the Lenovo Legion brand. The surface is further adorned with a “mural texture,” presumably to reference the mythical world of Black Myth: Wukong.

Measuring in at 71 x 71 x 31 mm and weighing approximately 245 grams, the C170 is a compact and portable charger. It features a single USB-C port and comes bundled with a USB-C to Lenovo C-Slim square port “superpower cable.” This cable allows for maximum power delivery of around 170W to compatible Lenovo Savior devices.

In terms of compatibility, the C170 can charge devices beyond Lenovo’s. It supports various fast-charging protocols such as PD 3.0, QC 3.0, and PPS, for broader usability with devices from other manufacturers that support these standards.

All in all, the Lenovo Savior x Black Myth: Wukong co-branded charger is a unique offering for game fans and those seeking a powerful, portable GaN charger for their compatible devices. But note that the charger is currently only available for reservations in China. There are no words on the global availability yet.

Vivo T3 Ultra launching this month, key details leaked

Vivo is reportedly planning to expand its T3 lineup, which already includes models, such as the Vivo T3 Lite 5G, Vivo T3x 5G, the Vivo T3 5G, and the Vivo T3 Pro 5G. Rumor has it that the brand is preparing to introduce the Vivo T3 Ultra in India. A report by 91mobiles has revealed a plethora of details about the Ultra variant.

Vivo T3 Ultra specifications (rumored)

Vivo T3 Pro 5G
Vivo T3 Pro 5G

According to the report, the Vivo T3 Ultra will come equipped with the Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset. With an AnTuTu score of around 160K+, the Ultra is expected to be more powerful than the Vivo T3 Pro, which features the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. Given that the Pro model starts at Rs 24,999 (~$300), it is likely that the Ultra variant will cost approximately Rs 30,000 (~$360).

The report further states that the T3 Ultra will have an IP68-rated body and a curved-edge AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and 4500nits of peak brightness. On the back, there will be an OIS-enabled Sony IMX921 primary camera.

Furthermore, the device with model number V2426 has appeared on Geekbench. Apart from revealing the inclusion of the D9200+ chip, it also mentions that the device has 12 GB of RAM and Android 14.

Interestingly, these specifications are also available on the Vivo V40 Pro. What seems likely is that the T3 Ultra may not have Zeiss optics, which are available on the photography-focused V40 Pro.

The report claims that the Vivo T3 Ultra will debut in early September. However, since the month has already started, this seems unlikely. It is more probable that the device will be teased for about a week before its official debut.

Google Play Store now lets you update or install multiple apps at the same time

Google has finally introduced a long-awaited feature to the Play Store: the ability to download and update multiple Android apps simultaneously. This significant improvement will save users considerable time, especially when setting up new devices or restoring from backups.

Google-Play-Store

Previously, the Play Store could only handle one app installation or update at a time. This often resulted in frustrating delays, particularly when dealing with a large number of pending updates. With the new feature, users can now experience significantly faster app installations and updates.

Google Play Store Multiple Apps Download Update

While the exact number of simultaneous downloads and updates may vary depending on factors like network speed and device performance, users who have got it have confirmed that at least three apps can be processed concurrently. This is a significant step forward compared to the single-app limitation that has been in place for many years.

1. How does it work?

When you attempt to update all your apps, the Play Store will prioritize three of them for immediate download and installation. The remaining apps will be placed in a “Pending” state and will be processed as soon as the initial three are complete.

2. Is it available on all devices?

The simultaneous app download feature is currently being rolled out gradually to Android users worldwide. While not everyone will have access to it immediately, it is expected to become available to a wider audience in the coming weeks.

3. What does this mean for Android users?

The ability to download and update multiple apps simultaneously is a welcome addition to the Play Store. It significantly improves the overall user experience and makes it easier to manage your app library. Whether you’re setting up a new device or simply keeping your apps up-to-date, this feature will save you time and effort. Apple has long offered similar support for installing up to three iOS apps at once.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 has 4 performance-oriented 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores and 4 efficiency-oriented 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. On the GPU side, SoC uses the Adreno 710 GPU. Alongside support for LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM, this chipset also supports UFS 3.1.
