ASUS has announced the 2026 versions of its ROG Strix G16 and ROG Strix G18 gaming laptops, introducing updated hardware, higher-end display options, and a redesigned chassis aimed at easier user upgrades. The new models bring Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series laptop GPUs to the Strix lineup, positioning them for high-performance gaming and content workloads.

Both the Strix G16 and G18 are powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor, paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU. This combination is designed to handle modern games with ray tracing, high refresh rate output, and GPU-accelerated tasks such as video editing and 3D rendering. Support for DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation is also included, which can improve frame rates in supported titles.

Display upgrades are a key change in this generation. The 16-inch Strix G16 features a 2.5K (2560 x 1600) IPS-level panel with a 300Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, up from 240Hz in the previous model. It supports 100 percent DCI-P3 color coverage, Pantone validation, Dolby Vision, and G-SYNC. The larger Strix G18 uses an 18-inch 2.5K panel with Mini LED technology and more than 2000 dimming zones. It offers a 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and peak brightness of up to 1600 nits, targeting users who need higher contrast and HDR performance.

Both panels include anti-reflection coating, aimed at improving visibility in bright environments and maintaining color consistency from different viewing angles.

Cooling has also been updated. ASUS is using a combination of a vapor chamber, a tri-fan setup, and a layered heatsink design to manage thermals. This setup is intended to maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions or heavy workloads.

One of the more practical changes is the redesigned chassis. The laptops now feature tool-less access through spring-loaded tabs, allowing users to open the system without screws. Internal components such as RAM and SSDs can be accessed quickly, and the SSD slots use a Q-Latch system for easier installation. Both models support up to 64GB DDR5 memory at 6400MT/s and up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.

Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports with DisplayPort 2.1 and power delivery, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, a 2.5G Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wireless support comes via WiFi 7. Audio features include Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and AI-based noise cancellation.

The laptops ship with Windows 11 Pro and include a per-key RGB keyboard with Aura Sync lighting and a dedicated Copilot key. Both models are equipped with a 90Wh battery and support up to a 380W power adapter.

The Strix G16 weighs 2.7kg, while the Strix G18 weighs 3.5kg. ASUS plans to offer both models in Eclipse Grey and Volt Green finishes.

Pricing and availability have not been announced yet.

TCL has officially launched the Q9M Pro SQD-Mini LED TV at its spring event in China. TCL is offering the Q9M Pro in five sizes: 55, 65, 75, 85, and 98 inches. The lineup starts at 6,199 yuan ($900) for the 55-inch model and goes up to 19,999 yuan ($2,904) for the 98-inch version.

The TV offers a 178-degree wide viewing angle that ensures consistent picture quality from different positions. TCL has claimed significant improvements in color purity and reduced light interference for more lifelike visuals.

The TV features a 4K resolution with a 150Hz refresh rate. It supports high frame rate modes up to 300Hz and includes TCL’s TSR AI picture engine. This system enhances lower-resolution content to near-4K quality while improving sharpness, noise reduction, and color accuracy. There’s also some customization, with categories like health, travel, and traffic. But from what many users are saying, the experience isn’t always as “smart” as it sounds. News can feel outdated, suggestions miss the mark, and a lot of it overlaps with apps people already check directly.

Where things get more interesting is in a setting called “Get richer insights.” This is where Samsung leans more heavily into personalization, with toggles for services like YouTube and Gemini. Huawei Expands Watch GT Runner 2 Availability to Germany and More Markets

Huawei has started selling the Watch GT Runner 2 in more regions, including markets like Germany, as it expands availability of its running-focused smartwatch.

Beyond running, it supports over 100 sports modes, including trail running, swimming, cycling, golf, with access to over 17,000 courses in some regions, and freediving up to 40 meters. It has 5 ATM and IP69 ratings, though it is not meant for hot showers or deep diving.

Health features include ECG, heart rate variability tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking with breathing awareness, stress tracking, and pulse wave arrhythmia analysis. These features are for reference only.

Battery life is rated at up to 14 days under light use, around 7 days with typical use, and up to 32 hours in outdoor workout mode with precise positioning. It supports wireless charging, NFC, Bluetooth calling, standalone music playback, and QR code scanning. It works with Android and iOS, though some features are limited on iPhones.

The watch is priced at £349 in the UK and around $420 to $466 depending on the region.

With the Vivo X300 Ultra expected to cost 500 yuan more than the 17 Ultra, it is likely that its 12GB+512GB version could be priced at around 7,500 Yuan (~$1,090).

In a new Weibo post, DCS has shared details of a new sub-series performance flagship from Xiaomi. While he has not specified the name of the device, it appears to be the Redmi K100 Pro Max. According to the leak, the device may feature a next-generation 2nm Snapdragon flagship chipset, tentatively dubbed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, alongside up to 16GB LPDDR6 RAM and 1TB storage.

The focus appears to be on delivering strong core performance and an upgraded display experience, while imaging is said to remain at a standard flagship level rather than a major upgrade. Overall, the device is tipped to offer a more balanced package in its segment, prioritizing performance, memory, and screen improvements over camera enhancements.

While DCS has claimed that the K100 Pro Max’s camera setup will not have a major upgrade, a previous leak by the same source suggested that the Redmi K100 Pro Max may feature a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

Globally, this phone may get rebranded as the Poco F9 Ultra. It is expected to launch along with the Poco F9 Pro (rebranded version of K100) in the first quarter of 2027.

OnePlus 15s specifications (expected)

The OnePlus 15s is expected to pack the same specifications as the OnePlus 15T, which is scheduled to launch on March 24 in China. However, there could be one key difference between the two models.

To recall, the OnePlus 13s, launched last year, is the company’s first phone with an autofocus-enabled 32-megapixel front camera. Therefore, it is likely that the said feature could be retained on the OnePlus 15s.

A new report has revealed that the OnePlus 15T, on the other hand, will have a 16-megapixel front camera like its previous generation. The rest of the specifications could be identical on the OnePlus 15s and 15T.
