Micro Star International has showcased the new MAG Trident S mini gaming console, which is powered by an APU from AMD.

While the known Chinese PC maker has shared an image of the product, it only shared a few specifications of the upcoming mini gaming console. Looking at the official tweet, the MAG Trident S console will be powered by Team Red’s Ryzen 7 5700G chipset. This is an APU with eight cores. Furthermore, it is built to be compact and portable and takes up just 2.6 liters in total size. Another notable feature includes support for up to 3 monitors at the same time.

Talking about its design, the Trident S mini gaming console appears to feature a dual tone design on its small body consisting of a white and black color scheme. It will also feature some form of LED lighting along with usual connectivity options like USB ports and more. While its chipset is a powerful CPU with capable integrated graphics, its still doesn’t feature a dedicated GPU. So, some might be skeptical regarding its overall performance.

Although, the device should likely run esports title like CS:GO, Valorant, DOTA 2, and others easily while current gen AAA titles would likely run via game streaming services, as suggested by the tweet. At the moment, the brand has yet to officially reveal the pricing of this product, so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.

Previously, Team Red had officially confirmed that its new Zen 3 Ryzen chips based on Zen 3 architecture with 3D V-Cache will be arriving to the AM4 platform in the first quarter of next year. Now, tipster @Greymon55 has revealed that the 3D Vache based Zen 3 Ryzen chips will begin production next month, so we can expect to see these chips being unveiled during the CES 2022 event. Notably, this also implies that we can see these chips launching by February 2022.

In the latter half of next year, the chipmaking giant is also expected to launch its Zen 4 architecture based chipsets as well. Apart from the new Ryzen chips with 3D V-Cache, AMD is also reportedly planning on shipping its Zen 3 B2 stepping processors by the end of this year. So, a late December launch can be expected. Furthermore, a company official had also previously confirmed that the B2 stepping Ryzen chips do not feature any major architectural changes but offer a new stepping does imply better stability and clock output over the chips already available in the market.

Interestingly, the new Ryzen 3D-Vache and B2 stepping chips would also launch ahead of the 12th Generation of Intel CPUs. For those unaware, Team Blue’s Alder Lake processors are also set for a 2022 launch as well, but the exact date is still unknown. Although, its still too early to know how chips from both brands stack up against each other.

Apart from the obvious difference of CPUs, there is only a slight difference between the ‘Team Blue’ and ‘Team Red’ variants of the new laptop. It sports a 14 inch display that offers a 2.8K resolution along with 90Hz high refresh rate. This panel outputs400 nits of brightness with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100 percent sRGB color gamut and DC dimming support as well. The screen also arrives with eye protection certification, Dolby Vision as well as Dolby Atmos support.

Under the hood, the Xiaoxin Pro 14 2021 Core Edition is powered by a 61Whr battery that is paired with a standard 65W portable PD adapter. It offers the usual USB 3.2 Gen Type A ports along with a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi 6, and even a Thunderbolt 4 port. Notably, the Intel variant arrives with an 11th Gen i5 processor, which is a part of its Evo platform. For memory, it offers 512GB of SSD storage paired with 16GB of LPDDR4X-4266MHz RAM.

On the other hand, the Ryzen edition arrives in two variants, namely one with a Ryzen 5 5600H that is comparable to the 11th Gen i5, and a high end Ryzen 7 5800H. Although, it is paired with a DDR4-3200MHz RAM but with a similar internal storage. Furthermore, the battery supports a faster 100W PD fast charger on the Ryzen variant. Both variants weigh 1.4 kilograms and measure 14.6mm in thickness.

Apart from these minor difference, the two variants of the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro 14 are basically the same. The laptops are set to go on sale starting from 5th October 2021 and here’s a look at their launch prices:

In a conference earlier this week, the Chinese smartphone maker launched the new MagicBook 14 and 15, which are the company’s latest thin and light notebooks. Both laptops sport an all metal body design with thin bezels that surround the display. On the front, the MagicBook 14 sports a 14 inch FHD IPS matte display that has been certified with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications. The larger variant also features a similar display but with a larger 15 inch panel.

Notably, a highlighting aspect of the new laptops is their form factor, with the 14 inch version measuring just 15.9mm in thickness and weighs just 1.38 kilograms. Even the bezel on the display is just 4.8mm thick. On the other hand, the MagicBook 15 has a thickness of 16.9mm and weighs just 1.54 kilograms with an 87 percent screen to body ratio and 5.3mm bezel frame. Under the hood, both laptops feature AMD’s latest Ryzen 5000 series processors, which is paired with 16GB of dual channel DDR4 RAM and 512GB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage.

The results showcased impressive results as the mobile processor managed to score over 28 percent higher than the last gen Ryzen 4700U. This chip was shipped with RedmiBook 14 that is currently available in the market, so it seems the company is offering a healthy boost in performance with the newer generation.

The laptop was benchmarked on Geekbench 5 and the performance was measured in the multi core test. The Lucienne Zen 2-based Ryzen 5000 APU arrives with a bump in performance along with an improvement with its integrated GPU and SMT support. Recently, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700U has surfaced on numerous laptops from various brands on the platform, but the latest benchmark is for the RedmiBook Pro 14S from the Chinese OEM Xiaomi.

For those unaware, the Ryzen 7 5700U features 8 cores and 16 threads, which helped it achieve a score of 6,431 points over the 4700U’s 5,018 score. Unfortunately, this is just a benchmark so we have no way of confirming any particular specification of the laptop at the moment. Furthermore, we would have to wait for an official company announcement before providing any concrete statements either. However, with the Ryzen 5000 series being Team Red’s latest CPU lineup, we can expect laptops with the same generation to launch sometime in the first half of 2021.

However, despite the company stating it shipping out “tons of units,” the new CPUs have already been out of stock across the globe.

The shortage of new chips arrives amid the stocking issues being faced by NVIDIA, which has also left many people frustrated. For those unaware, Team Green’s new RTX 3000 series GPUs have been struggling to keep up to supply the large demand for the new graphics cards. Notably, AMD had stated that it would be facing the same supply constraints as NVIDIA did for its new Radeon 6000 series of GPUs, but it seems that its CPUs are already being sold out everywhere.

According to a TechRadar report, it is being speculated that Team Red’s recent Ryzen CPUs might be a part of a “paper launch” strategy. Meaning that the new release arrived just as a PR stunt with very little inventory to begin with. Although, Frank Azor, AMD’s chief architect of gaming solutions and marketing have assured that this would not be the case and insists that a large demand is the cause of the problem.

Unfortunately, this does not seem very convincing as the infamously low stock from NVIDIA also prompted the company to blame the demand rather than its own supply issues. In other words, the statement from the official might frustrate its patient buyers that are looking forward to a CPU upgrade even further. So stay tuned for more as we will be providing updates when more information is available.

According to a TechnoSports report, a YouTube channel named Pichau has recently uploaded a video that benchmark the new Ryzen 5000 series processors. These are effectively the first real gaming benchmarks we have seen of the new chips and showcases some very interesting results. In the gaming benchmarks, the new AMD processors beat the currently gen Intel flagship processor in almost every game, which included AAA titles and competitive games as well.

Editor’s Pick: Huawei Nova 8 SE with Dimensity 720/800U chipset, 64MP quad cameras and 66W fast charging launched for 2,599 Yuan (~$391)

While the Ryzen 9 5900X was showed great results, the Ryzen 5600X is what showed the most impressive results. The mid range chip from AMD managed to beat the Intel flagship i9-10900K in a few titles and traded blows in other games as well. What’s more surprising is that games that were generally known to favor Intel chips like Counter Strike: Global Offensive, showed better results on the new Ryzen processors by a margin of up to 20 percent.

All of the benchmarks had Pichau use an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, which ran every game at 1080p. At this resolution, the CPU and its per core performance is what matters. So if the budget Ryzen 5600X can beat the consumer flagship Intel chip already, we can expect it to blow past other 10th Gen Intel chips already. Although, it would be better to reign in expectations despite the impressive performance and wait for additional benchmarks before celebrating too early.

At the the helm is the new Ryzen 9 5950X featuring 16 cores and 32 threads. The 5950X has a base clock frequency of 3.4GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.9GHz. The company claims this SoC possesses the highest single and multi-threaded performance of any mainstream desktop CPU. The L3 cache spread across its two chipsets is up to 64MB and it equally has a TDP of 105W.

The 5950X is a successor of the previous-gen Ryzen 3950X and is priced at $799. The price is just $40 higher than that of the 3950X which is priced at $749. It is well suited to take on the 18-core Intel Core i9-10980XE.

The second model is the Ryzen 9 5900X. The new processor comes with a 12-core architecture with 24 threads. The chipset has abase clock spoeed of 3.7GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.8GHz. The chipmaker touts this CPU as the best gaming CPU on the market. The Ryzen 5900X equally has 64MB of L3 cache spread across two chiplets and a TDP of 105W, just like the 5950X.

However, the Ryzen 9 5900X which replaces the $499 Ryzen 3900X, comes in at a lower price of $549. It will take on the 10-core Intel Core i9-10900K.

The third model in the series is the Ryzen 7 5800X, equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads. The 5800X can achieve a base clock of 3.8GHz and a boost clock of 4.7GHz. The CPU utilises a single chiplet design with the 8 cores and full 32MB cache on the single CCX. It also has a TDP of 105W.

AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X comes with a price tag of $449 and will take on the 8-core Intel Core i7-10700K.

The last but not the least, is the Ryzen 5 5600X, which has 6 cores and 12 threads. The desktop CPU which is the cheapest among the lot, has a base clock of 3.7GHz and a boost clock of 4.6GHz. It also utilises a single chiplet design and has 32MB of L3 cache but the TDP is reduced to 65W. The 5600X is the only one out of the lot that will come with a stock cooler in the box.

The Ryzen 5 5600X is priced at $299 and will take on the 6-core Intel Core i5-10600K.

The new Ryzen 5000 series will be on store shelves from November 5. The CPUs will all be compatible with all motherboards running B550 and X570 chipsets at launch.

The leak was first shared on Twitter, with the tweet arriving with a CPU-Z screenshot of a 12 core CPU. This image also revealed the single and multi threaded tests of the processors that received some impressive scores. According to a TechRadar report, Team Red’s Ryzen 9 5900X scored 653 points in single threaded tests and 9,482 in the multi threaded tests. This marks a notable gain of 15 to 25 percent in comparison to the Ryzen 9 3900X, which is the current gen’s high end 12 core CPU.

Editor’s Pick: Entry-level Apple iPhone 12 models pack 64GB storage while Pro models start at 128GB storage

Unfortunately, no further details were revealed in the post and the finer details regarding the upcoming AMD CPU are also unknown. The screenshot of the tests didn’t reveal the clock speeds of the chip either, so we have very little information to go on here. But if this is valid, then we can observe a noticeable gain in performance with new Zen 3 architecture.

Keep in mind, that this is still an unconfirmed leak, so take this report with a pinch of salt for now. The AMD Ryzen 5000 series launch is just around the corner, and we can expect further leaks and reports to surface online as well. So stay tuned for more updates that should arrive soon.
