Now, we have something that might interest you guys.</p>
<p>Yesterday, the company revealed its <a title="Meizu M1 and M1 Note getting Lollipop in June, even MX3 and MX2 will get the update!" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/04/01/meizu-m1-and-m1-note-getting-lollipop-in-june-even-mx3-and-mx2-will-get-the-update/">Android 5.0 release schedules </a>for its smartphones and the MX4 Pro was right on top. In fact, it will be the first Meizu device to be updated to the latest Android operating system.</p>
<p>Today, team Ubuntu has released a screenshot of the MX4 Pro running on the Android 5.0.1 version. So, it looks like the company is all set to release the final version to the users.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Meizu-MX4-Pro-Lollipop-update.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-45286" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Meizu-MX4-Pro-Lollipop-update.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu MX4 Pro Lollipop update" width="440" height="733" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Meizu-MX4-Pro-Lollipop-update.jpg 440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Meizu-MX4-Pro-Lollipop-update-180x300.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Meizu-MX4-Pro-Lollipop-update-252x420.jpg 252w" sizes="(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px" /></a></p>
<p>However, according to yesterday&#8217;s post, the Lollipop update for MX4 Pro is still in the beta stage, which means you may have to wait for a few more weeks for an official stable OTA update. According to the image given below, the release is slated for April 28, which is still around three weeks away.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-android-lollipop-update.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-45162" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-android-lollipop-update.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu android lollipop update" width="600" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-android-lollipop-update.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-android-lollipop-update-300x250.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/meizu-android-lollipop-update-504x420.jpg 504w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>So, it looks like the company is on schedule developing the Android 5.0 update based on Flyme 4.5. We will keep you guys updated with more information in the next few days.</p>

While, the update still hasn&#8217;t rolled out, a screenshot appeared on Weibo recently, showing a smartphone running a Flyme OS 5.0.3A (Beta) build, proving the software is in its final stages of testing.</p>
<p>The fifth version of Meizu&#8217;s custom firmware Flyme OS will be bringing a number of changes to the software, delivering a better overall experience. Based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, Meizu&#8217;s custom ROM will be released for the Meizu MX4 and MX4 Pro.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/meizu-flymeos-beta-device-weibo-release-update-news.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43836" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/meizu-flymeos-beta-device-weibo-release-update-news.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu FlymeOS 5.0 Beta Update Screenshot" width="600" height="1000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/meizu-flymeos-beta-device-weibo-release-update-news.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/meizu-flymeos-beta-device-weibo-release-update-news-180x300.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/meizu-flymeos-beta-device-weibo-release-update-news-252x420.jpg 252w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>The screenshot doesn&#8217;t reveal much in regard to the actual OS, but it does show that there already are Meizu smartphones running the FlymeOS 5.0 Beta. According to the screenshot, the custom ROM is based on the Android 5.0.2 Kernel, while the FlymeOS 5.0 Beta itself is in its 5.0.3A iteration.</p>
<p>While a release date for the update still hasn&#8217;t been officially announced, Meizu will be giving access to the public to FlymeOS 5.0 via an open beta version, said to be made available later this month.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>On the early morning on June 26 (Beijing time), Google will hold its annual I/O conference in the United States where they may launch the long-anticipated Nexus Tablet, new portable devices, and even the devices in the rumored Silver line which is supposed to replace the Nexus. However, what the users are mostly interested in is the Android 5.0.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>It’s been three years since Google first released the Android 4.0 in 2011. Even though there have been several updates since then (4.0 to 4.4), there have not been any revolutionary changes in this platform, so many have high hopes for the Android 5.0. Here are several expectations we have about the 5.0.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/4d171e8c3b2ef70c7afb02614b99e632_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26245" alt="4d171e8c3b2ef70c7afb02614b99e632_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_1" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/4d171e8c3b2ef70c7afb02614b99e632_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_1.jpg?x44794" width="564" height="321" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/4d171e8c3b2ef70c7afb02614b99e632_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_1.jpg 564w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/4d171e8c3b2ef70c7afb02614b99e632_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_1-300x170.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 564px) 100vw, 564px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p align="center">“Flattening” and new UI</p>
<p align="center">
<p>           Ever since Microsoft used the Metro interface for the Windows Phone and Windows 8, flattening has become the biggest trend in the industry right now. Apple’s iOS7, 8, and even the Mac’s Yosemite interface joined in. Several Android phone manufacturers have also begun to “flatten” their own systems. We can confidently say that they will apply this to the Android 5.0 as well.</p>
<p>It’s also important to consider that Google usually follows new designs for the Android’s UI when they do massive upgrades. As a result, some massive changes may be made for the Android 5.0’s UI. These changes could be done to “flatten” the 5.0. They could also be just to improve user experience.<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/fb9d433088a21464e7d634c4e190b31a_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26246" alt="fb9d433088a21464e7d634c4e190b31a_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_2" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/fb9d433088a21464e7d634c4e190b31a_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_2.jpg?x44794" width="482" height="380" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/fb9d433088a21464e7d634c4e190b31a_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_2.jpg 482w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/fb9d433088a21464e7d634c4e190b31a_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_2-300x236.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 482px) 100vw, 482px" /></a></p>
<p align="center">64-bit</p>
<p align="center">
<p>       The use of 64-bit processors is one of the most important selling points for the iPhone 5S. Even though it has received nothing but mockery from the industry, many consumers are still satisfied with it. Soon, Qualcomm, MediaTek, and other companies also released 64-bit processors which many refuse to admit that they want. The problem is that right now, the Android system’s support for 64-bit CPUs is not that great. If you want bring out the potential of these new CPUs, then, you need to upgrade the operating system. The Android 5.0 offers a very good opportunity.</p>

<p align="center">ART</p>
<p align="center">
<p>       ART mode is one of the new features added by Google to the Android 4.4. It can effectively improve the performance of the operating system and solves Android’s lack of fluidity problems. Considering compatibility issues and other problems, many manufacturers chose to forgo it when upgrading. To solve this problem, Google may unofficially allow the use of ART for the Android 5.0 and we might say goodbye to the Dalvik virtual machine.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p align="center">A better App store</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Due to several reasons Google’s official app store, Google Play, has not been that popular in China, but this does not diminish its relevance as Google’s official online store. Compared to its competitors, the Google Play is not that complete yet and still lacks many important features. An App store is an important part of an operating system’s ecosystem, so it’s important to improve it and fix its problems. We can probably expect a better App store from the Android 5.0.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/2d1bcedd27b586d2a9562a0f8e076b41_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_5.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26249" alt="2d1bcedd27b586d2a9562a0f8e076b41_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_5" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/2d1bcedd27b586d2a9562a0f8e076b41_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_5.jpg?x44794" width="520" height="227" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/2d1bcedd27b586d2a9562a0f8e076b41_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_5.jpg 520w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/2d1bcedd27b586d2a9562a0f8e076b41_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_5-300x130.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 520px) 100vw, 520px" /></a></p>
<p align="center">Better virtual keys</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>More and more Android devices are starting to abandon real-life keys and are turning to virtual ones, but right now, the Android system’s virtual keys still offer a very terrible user experience. There are times when you may not find it when you need it, and other times when you want to close it from the screen but cannot. When other manufacturers produce virtual keys, the attitude they profess is completely different from the strategy they come up with. Google will have to be consistent in their attitude and actions.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/f754186469a933256d7d64095e963594_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_6.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-26250" alt="f754186469a933256d7d64095e963594_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_6" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/f754186469a933256d7d64095e963594_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_6.jpg?x44794" width="555" height="336" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/f754186469a933256d7d64095e963594_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_6.jpg 555w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/f754186469a933256d7d64095e963594_mw_680_wm_0_wmp_3_meitu_6-300x181.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p align="center">Improvements on their tablets</p>
<p align="center">
<p>       Tablets are a very important part of Mobile devices, but Android’s tablets have yet to receive much attention. Google stopped follow this concept after problems of fragmentation with the Android 3.0 which was especially designed for tablets. As a result, today, Google still applies phone designs for Tablet interfaces and this has resulted in poor user experience. If Google wants to provide superior operating systems for tablets, then they should add tablet-related improvements to the 5.0.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>These are our expectations for the Android 5.0. If they come true, then users should be very pleased with the new Android. As a very liberated and creative enterprise, Google may deliver a big surprise for us. Nevertheless, we can only find out two days from now.</p>

It has been described by Google’s Engineering Director Dave Burke as “the biggest release in the history of Android”. The interface has been given a new look, with the result being something Google are referring to as Material Design. The interface has been designed to give the impression of depth as well as colour and has been designed to work across all devices, not just Chrome and Android, giving users a smooth transition between products and a complete experience.</p>
<p>The use of “nest scrolling”, which sees items shrink and disappear, and the use of light and shadows are what helps to create the impression of depth and the digital material is said to expand and reform according to your instincts about how to move items and what items can be moved. There are a lot of new features to look forward to also:</p>
<ul>
<li>Notifications will now be accessible from the lockscreen, and the notifications themselves will be organised according to what the user is most likely to want to see.</li>
<li>The authentication process is now more intelligent; the software will first attempt to find out if you’re in a known environment or if you are holding it from nearby devices or the smartwatch on your wrist. If your device isn’t persuaded by your surroundings, it will ask you for a PIN.</li>
<li>The keyboard UI interface has been overhauled and a “do not disturb” feature has been added.</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The performance is being enhanced also, by the Android Extension Pack providing better graphics and there are new battery saving measures, which provide extensive statistics about battery use and a power-saving mode.</p>
<p>It all sounds very exciting, let’s hope the practice can meet the expectations.</p>

<p>News about the latest Android version has been fermented as Google’s I/O Convention is around the corner. In the meanwhile, we are looking forward to the new version with so many attractions.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><b>Release Date</b></p>
<p>Nowadays it is reported that the new version is Android 4.5 but not 5.0 according to Google’s plan. It is with the version updating sequence, however, it is hard to predict before Google’s I/O Convention in June, 2014.</p>
<p><b> </b><b>Hardware</b></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGC5VH.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23666" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGC5VH.jpg?x44794" alt="29_1jrJGC5VH" width="550" height="309" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGC5VH.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGC5VH-300x168.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>It is always the case that a new hardware follows every new Android system. Considering that Nexus 5 was just launched to the market less than half a year, this time Google may surprise us by the updated version of Nexus 10 as the current version of that had been released by the end of 2012. At the same time, the most popular candidate of the updated version for OEM will switch to HTC.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><b>Function</b></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCCaN.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23665" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCCaN.jpg?x44794" alt="29_1jrJGCCaN" width="550" height="309" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCCaN.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCCaN-300x168.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>Report from Android Police implies that Google will add Google Now (Voice Services in Android) into a new APP named OK Google Everywhere, which will integrate the former function into most APPs, ensuring more efficient voice services. For example, after a photo is taken, the user can order Google Now directly to share it.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Besides, more Fitness Function will be added into the new version. Considering that the recent release of Android Wear, the coordination of this APP and wearable devices like intelligent watch or Google glass should become the key function in the updated version which will come to the public soon.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><b>Operation Interface</b></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCVEU.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23664" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCVEU.jpg?x44794" alt="29_1jrJGCVEU" width="550" height="309" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCVEU.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGCVEU-300x168.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>As shown on the system screenshots which were publicized nowadays, Flattening Style will be dominatingly enhanced in the new version. The design is called “Moonshine” Internally.</p>
<p><b> </b></p>
<p><b>What We Expect for Android 5.0</b></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>1.More Smart Profiles</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDTtw.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23662" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDTtw.jpg?x44794" alt="29_1jrJGDTtw" width="550" height="310" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDTtw.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDTtw-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>More Smart Profiles are needed to simplify the administration of our mobile phones in different case, like No Disturbing Mode, Game Mode or E-book Reading Mode and so on.</p>
<p>2.Friendly to more devices</p>
<p>Even the current version is not bad, user want more for the new version. For example, the video downloaded from Google Play can be synchronizedly played on two or more devices.</p>
<p>3.Enhanced social Networking function</p>
<p>Social Networking APPs should be the default function in the Android 5.0.</p>
<p>4.Improved input method</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDpQb.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23661" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDpQb.jpg?x44794" alt="29_1jrJGDpQb" width="550" height="309" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDpQb.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDpQb-300x168.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>The original input method in current Android system is far below desire while that of SONY or HTC is quite satisfying. Therefore, Android 5.0 should improve the input method.</p>
<p>5.Video Chatting</p>
<p>Even though there are so many third party APPs (like Skype etc.) can provide video chatting services in our mobile phone, we still expect Google can provide its own video chatting services APP.</p>
<p>6.Allowing batch editing of contracts</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGD37r.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23660" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGD37r.jpg?x44794" alt="29_1jrJGD37r" width="550" height="309" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGD37r.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGD37r-300x168.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>It will save a lot of time when batch editing is available,no matter in message sending or cancelling,</p>
<p>7.Message synchronization among different devices</p>
<p>Even though there are so many third party APPs can backup information in our mobile phone, we still expect Google can provide its own information backup APP.</p>
<p>8.Provide the choice of “Never Update”</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDvVi.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-23659" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDvVi.jpg?x44794" alt="29_1jrJGDvVi" width="550" height="315" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDvVi.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/29_1jrJGDvVi-300x171.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px" /></a></p>
<p>We can never ignore the truth that so many users were force to update the system which may be regarded as a tyranny sometimes. Users should have the right to reject the updating for the notice of updating is always a nuisance.</p>
<p>9.Preview/free Redeem Code</p>
<p>This function is obviously favorable for APP promotion, and Google can completely imitate the method.</p>
<p>10.Others</p>
<p>To meet some individual needs, like setting the item list by alphabetical order, or frequency of use or personal preference.  Battery Status is also welcome as the function is in iOS system for so long.</p>
