There have been few leaks about the upcoming 27-inch Apple iMac Pro and now the latest report indicates that the Cupertino-based technology giant could officially launch this new Mac sometime in the month of June.

Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants claims that the Mini-LED iMac Pro could launch in June 2022. This could mean that the new iMac Pro might get unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference.

Earlier, there were reports that the product could go official sometime in summer this year. Based on the reports so far, the upcoming iMac Pro will come with a revamped design and upgraded specifications.

The 27-inch Mini LED display could have support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It is said that the device will feature a design similar to the 24-inch iMac which is powered by an M1 chipset. It is expected to come powered by the recently announced M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets from Apple, the same processors that are powering the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models launched last year.

Apart from the Apple iMac Pro, the company is gearing up to launch several new products throughout this year, including the AirPods Pro 2, M2 chipset, new MacBook models powered by a new processor, and much more.

But while the company was expected to launch its new iMac Pro in a spring event, a new rumor has suggested that its release has been delayed to summer.

According to Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants, the Cupertino based giant’s latest iMac entry will be arriving sometime in summer of this year. The news arrives after analyzing the supply chain, with other known analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo backing the claim. In his tweet, Ross Young added that the new iMac Pro will be arriving in Summer, rather than Spring, and is expected to sport mini LED display technology.

Although, these panels will house “fewer zones” than the one’s used on the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro. DSCC had also previously reported that the new iMac Pro’s mini LED panel will support ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate as well. Furthermore, the iPhone maker is also gearing up to launch a new redesigned iMac that will feature a 27 inch display. Under the hood, these PCs are believed to run on Apple’s current gen silicon, including the M1 Pro and M1 Max chipset that is available on MacBook Pro models.

As per 9To5Mac, the upcoming iMac Pro was initially expected to launch sometime in the spring event in March or April 2022. Now, Apple might likely announce the product during its WWDC 2022 event, which will be held sometime in June. The reason for this delay is unclear at the moment, but rising demand of its notebooks and tablets might be a factor, considering they also sport mini LED panels.

There have been reports claiming that the device may feature a Mini LED backlighting for the display and have a 120Hz refresh rate.

Internally, the device is expected to come powered by the recently announced M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets from Apple, the same processors that are powering the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models launched last year.

While there has not been any official communication from Apple regarding this upcoming iMac Pro model, reports indicate that the product could get launched in early 2022, probably at the Spring event.

Apart from the Apple iMac Pro, the company is gearing up to launch several new products throughout this year, including the AirPods Pro 2, M2 chipset, new MacBook models powered by a new processor, and much more.

So far, the company has launched three chips for Mac which are based on the ARM architecture.

Now, a new report claims that the Cupertino-based technology giant is working on a successor of all the existing three chips which will be named Apple M2, M2 Pro, and the M2 Max, and has also shared some key details.

Further, citing information from the supply chain industry sources, the report adds that the company will be updating the Apple Silicon lineup every 18 months in the future.

It is claimed that Apple will be launching the first M2 processor codenamed Staten in the second half of 2022 and in the first half of 2023, there will be a new M2X processor with the codename Rhodes. There will be M2 Pro and M2 Max chips with different graphic cores.

All the chips in Apple Silicon’s M2 lineup will be manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) using the 4nm process. It is also speculated that the successor of the M2 series, which is likely to be the M3 lineup, will be manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process.

The upcoming M2 series chips from the tech giant Apple will be used across six products from the brand. It is said that the MacBook will be equipped with an M2 processor while the MacBook Pro lineup will have M2 Pro and M2 Max options.

Similarly, the iMac will be powered by the M2 chipset while the iMac Pro will come packed with the M2 Pro and M2 Max. There will also be Mac Mini with an M2 processor and a Mac Pro equipped with the M2 Pro and M2 Max.
