It is quite important that Samsung has provided an update for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. It’s worth noting that this is a budget-friendly tablet. While smartphone and tablet manufacturers are making efforts to improve their update records, entry-level devices are often easily overlooked.

Moreover, the fact that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite was introduced at the beginning of 2021 and is receiving an Android 14 update three years later is not very common. This situation indicates that Samsung’s OS update performance, improving each year, might even surpass Apple. According to a recent report, Samsung has started rolling out One UI 5.1.1 update for Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.

For those unaware, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite was released in 2021. It arrived with Android 11 pre-installed and was expected to receive two major Android updates. Now that the device is running on an Android 13-based OS, it may not receive major Android updates.

As per a recent report by SAMmobile, the update is currently live in Europe. The One UI 5.1.1 includes the August security patch that focuses on fixing security vulnerabilities. The patch arrives with a build version ending in CWI2 and a size of around 1 GB. Those wondering what this update has to offer can check the improved features provided below.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite One UI 5.1.1 improvements and features

In the latest One UI 5.1.1 update, you can now continue to share files via Quick Share even if the other person has left the local Wi-Fi network range. The patch now shows up to four recent apps on the taskbar. You can now set a file expiration window for the files that are being shared privately. The latest patch now gives you access to stop people from downloading the files you shared with them.

Furthermore, those who wish to update the Tab A7 Lite to the latest version can head over to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. It is worth noting that the update is currently available in Europe. However, we expect the company to release it to other countries in the future.

A few days back, a report revealed the chipsets powering Samsung smartphones and tablets that are set to launch in 2022. Now, another such report details the production units and release scheduled of Samsung tablets, laptops, truly wireless earphones, and a smartwatch that are planned to debut next year. According to a report by The Elec (via @FrontTron), Samsung Electronics’ wireless division recently shared its business plan for 2022 with around 30 major partners. In the meeting, the tech giant set a target of increasing its production capacity of tablets, laptops, and wearables (TWS, smartwatches) by 6%, 9%, and more than 35% respectively in 2022 as compared to 2021.

Samsung is targeting around 34 million units of Galaxy Tabs, 7.4 million units of Galaxy Books, 19 million units of Galaxy Watches, and 23 million units of Galaxy Buds. Here’s a rough breakdown of numbers provided by the company.

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE models such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage are priced at Rs 42,999 (~$581) and Rs 50,999 (~$690), respectively. It can be purchased in colors like Mystic Black, Mystic Pink, Mystic Green, and Mystic Silver. HDFC Bank cardholders can avail of Rs 4,000 (~$54) cashback on the device and Rs 10,000 (~$135) off on the optional keyboard cover.

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE has a 12.4-inch TFT display that delivers 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. The device is bundled with a magnetic S Pen. The Snapdragon 750G chip powers the device along with a 10,990mAh battery, which supports 45W rapid charging. It has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie snapper.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite price in India, specifications

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite comes in a sole version featuring 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The LTE and Wi-Fi versions of the device are priced at Rs 11,999 (~$162) and Rs 14,999 (~$203). It comes in Gray and Silver colors. Buyers can avail of a 6-month no-cost EMI option starting at Rs 2,499 (~$34).

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has an 8.7-inch LCD screen that delivers 1340 x 800 pixels resolution.  The Helio P22T chipset powers the device along with a 5,100mAh battery, which supports 15W fast charging. The Tab A7 Lite has a front camera of 2-megapixel and a rear camera of 8-megapixel. It comes with other features such as LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a microSD card slot, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB-C port.

The price leak of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and the Galaxy Tab S7 FE comes from 91Mobiles. According to the publication, the tablets will be sold via Amazon, Samsung online store, and offline stores in India for the following price tags.

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is a much more affordable tablet than the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G. That reduction in price also means there are tradeoffs in features and specs. It will be available in Wi-Fi and LTE versions.

Samsung has put an 8.7-inch LCD display with a 1340 x 800 resolution and a 2MP f/2.2 camera on the front side of the tablet while the rear which is actually made of metal is home to an 8MP f/2.0 camera. Powering the tablet is an Helio P22T processor paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of expandable storage. Owners will be able to add up to an additional 1TB of storage.

There is an audio jack, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi. It packs a 5100mAh battery capacity and has support for 15W Adaptive Fast Charging. Unfortunately, Samsung doesn’t ship the tablet with a 15W charger.

Samsung ships both tablets with Android 11. It has also revealed that those who purchase either tablet will get free and unlimited access to Samsung TV Plus as well as a free trial of YouTube Premium. Both tablets support work seamlessly with other Samsung Galaxy devices such as earbuds and phones. Users will be able to easily switch their Galaxy Buds from one device to another; receive calls, send and receive messages on their Galaxy Tab even if their phone is not nearby.

Previously, the support pages of the tablet were seen on Samsung’s website for markets like Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Russia, and so on.

The support pages have not revealed anything on the specs of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. Recently, the tablet was spotted with full specifications in the database of China’s TENAA certification site. Rumors are rife that the tablet may go official in June.

Recent reports have revealed the specs and design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablet. It appears that the device may soon as the TENAA telecom authority of China has approved the device. The TENAA appearance (via. Nashville Chatter Class) has once again revealed the specs and images of the Tab A7 Lite.

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (SM-T225C) tablet has 212.4 x 124.7 x 8mm dimensions and weighs 300 grams. The handset has an 8.68-inch LCD display that produces a resolution of 800 x 1340 pixels. The slate is driven by a 2.3GHz octa-core processor, which appears to be the Helio P22T chipset.

The Tab A7 Lite may hit the Chinese markets like 3 GB and 4 GB and it could be arriving in storage choices like 32 GB and 64 GB. The tablet is equipped with Android 11 OS and it has a microSD card slot for more storage.

The device is backed by a 5,100mAh battery that carries support for 15W charging. It has a 2-megapixel snapper on the front and an 8-megapixel camera (without flash) on the back.

Apart from the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablet, the upcoming Galaxy F52 5G phone was also spotted at TENAA recently. Last month, Evan Blass shared a render of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. Today he has shared yet another render of the upcoming tablet.

The latest render shared by Evan Blass on Voice appears in Silver Color. Apart from the obvious paint job, the design of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite looks the same as the render shared before. At the back, we have a single camera (without LED flash) and a Samsung branding at the bottom.

The back panel is said to have a slim metal design. Upfront, we see the thick bezels surrounding the display more clearly now. What else is more visible is that, at the bottom, we can see a Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Also, there are two cutouts at the center below the earpiece on top. One of them is the front camera while the other could be the proximity/ambient light sensor. Speaking of the front, the display is said to be 8.4-inches(or 8.7-inches) in size.

Earlier, it was revealed that the tablet will have an 8.4-inch LCD panel. The leak also adds that the device could be powered by the MediaTek Helio P22T chipset, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. It will come packed with a 5,100mAh battery and run the Android 11 operating system. There are also cameras on the front and back, without LED flash.

The device has also bagged FCC certification and it was approved by the Bluetooth SIG body last month. The FCC appearance did not reveal any information, but its Bluetooth listing only revealed that it carries support for Bluetooth 5.0.

A report also claims that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite could be launched along with the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite which is expected to come in three variants — Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, and 5G. It is expected to come with multiple color options — Black, Silver, Pink, and Green.

The leak further states that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is powered by the Helio P22T SoC and 3 GB of RAM. It has a large battery of 5,100mAh capacity. As can be seen in the image, the rear shell of the device has a flash-less camera. The tipster did not share the configurations of the front and rear cameras of the device.

The Tab A7 Lite tablet has already bagged FCC certification and it was approved by the Bluetooth SIG body earlier this month. The FCC appearance did not reveal any information, but its Bluetooth listing only revealed that it carries support for Bluetooth 5.0.

Samsung may announce the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite along with Galaxy Tab S7 Lite in June. Previous reports have claimed that the Tab S7 Lite may come in three variants such as 5G, 4G LTE, and Wi-Fi only. The tablet may arrive in multiple colors like black, silver, pink, and green.

The Galaxy Tab S7 Lite may feature a 12.4-inch LCD TFT display and it could be powered by Snapdragon 750G chipset. The tablet may come with 4 GB of RAM and it may run on Android 11 OS. There is no word on the pricing of the Tab A7 Lite and Tab S7 Lite tablets.

A few days back, a Samsung tablet with model number SM-T225 was certified by FCC. This tablet was even spotted on Geekbench in late January. Now, it has made its appearance on Bluetooth SIG as well. The product’s listing confirms it to go official as Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.

Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab A7 as a budget tablet for everyday use. In February, a leak revealed that the South Korean tech giant will be releasing a toned-down variant of this tablet called Galaxy Tab A7 Lite in June 2021.

Now, thanks to Bluetooth certification (Bluetooth 5.0), we now know that the upcoming Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will be none other than the Samsung tablet with model number SM-T225. We even guessed the same when this tablet was spotted on FCC earlier this week.

According to previous reports, the tablet will flaunt an 8.7-inch display. It will feature a slim design with a metal unibody construction. The product will be targeted at customers looking for one-handed usage and immersive entertainment.

Further, this ODM-made tablet will be powered by MediaTek Helio P22T (aka P22 Tab) SoC. The chipset will be coupled with 3GB RAM. It will be capable of scoring around 810 points and 3439 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests respectively.

Other features of the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will include a single rear camera, a front-facing camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Last but not least, it will run Android 11 and will be backed by a 5,100mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.

In late January 2021, a Samsung tablet with model number SM-T225 was spotted on Geekbench. The listing revealed the chipset, RAM capacity, and operating system of the mysterious Galaxy Tab. Now, a little over a month later, this tablet has been certified by FCC.

The FCC certification (via GoAndroid) of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab SM-T225 does not disclose much about this tablet. Except for the fact that it is an ODM (Huaqin Telecom Technology Co., Ltd.) product with support for WiFi, Bluetooth, and LTE. 

But the listing mentions the tablet to be backed by a battery manufactured by SCUD (Fujian) Electronics Co., Ltd. Searching its model number HQ-3565S on TÜV Rheinland we found it to have a capacity of 5,100mAh. Also, the tablet will be shipping with an EP-TA200 adapter, which is nothing but Samsung’s 15W Adaptive Fast Charging charger.

Further, the sketch meant for label location exposes the rear design. The design looks similar to that of the recently leaked Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and Galaxy Tab A 8.4″ (2021). We think the SM-T225 cannot be the latter as its 3.5mm headphone jack sits at the bottom and not at the top, as on the Galaxy Tab 8.4″ (2021).

Hence, there’s a high chance that the Samsung Galaxy Tab SM-T225 could be the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite with an 8.7-inch display and slim metal design. Lastly, according to Geekbench, it will feature MediaTek Helio P22T (aka P22 Tab) SoC, 3GB RAM, and Android 11.

Samsung is the only popular Android tablet OEM apart from Huawei. Whereas, other well-known smartphone makers have left this category. According to a new leak, the South Korean tech giant will be releasing two new lite models of its premium Galaxy Tab S7 and budget Galaxy Tab A7 later this year.

Last year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite as a mid-range productivity tablet. It is expected to get a successor in the form of Galaxy Tab S7 Lite, as per a new leak. This model could also become the company’s cheapest 5G tablet to date.

Similarly, there will be a budget tablet called Galaxy Tab A7 Lite as well. It is reported to be a smaller counterpart of the currently popular Galaxy Tab A7.

According to the images shared by Twitter user WalkingCat (@_h0x0d_), both these tablets will be launching in June 2021. The pictures not only reveal the front design of these upcoming tablets but also some of their highlights.

The Galaxy Tab S7 Lite is said to sport a 12.4-inch display, 5G connectivity, and Galaxy Continuity. For those unaware, the latter feature allows users to use their tablet as a secondary screen for their Galaxy smartphone. On the other hand, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite will reportedly come with an 8.7-inch display and will be targeted at one-handed usage for immersive entertainment with a slim metal design.

Lastly, according to a previous report by SamMobile, the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite may bear the model numbers SM-T730, SM-T735, and SM-T736B / SM-T736N for the WiFi-only, 4G, and 5G variants respectively.

The year 2021 has just begun but Samsung has already launched a bunch of smartphones, including the Galaxy S21 series. Now, it seems like the company is gearing up to release its first tablets of 2021 as one of them has been spotted on Geekbench revealing certain specs.

This upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab will come with model number SM-T225. According to its Geekbench listing, it will be powered by MediaTek MT8768WT chipset.

For those unaware, this rare SoC is known as MediaTek Helio P22T (aka P22 Tab). This silicon is found inside the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus (2nd Gen). 

Further, the forthcoming Samsung tablet will feature 3GB RAM and thankfully, it will run Android 11, unlike some recently launched budget Galaxy smartphones.

Nothing else is known about this Galaxy Tab, apart from the above-mentioned features and its Geekbench score, which happens to be 810 points and 3439 points for single core and multi-core tests respectively.

That said, the Samsung SM-T225 could be the Galaxy Tab A 8.4” (2021) whose 3D CAD renders were leaked earlier. But we think that the chances are low as last year’s Galaxy Tab A 8.4” (2020) features the model number SM-T307, which is larger. So this one could be a cheaper model instead.
