Now, along with the global launch of the Redmi Note 11 series, the company has also announced the MIUI 13 for the global markets.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> has also revealed that it plans to roll out the new update for the operating system in the first quarter of this year (i.e. Q1 2022) but it has not yet announced the exact date for the release. However, it has shared the list of smartphones that will get the update.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-438318 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-D.jpeg?x44794" alt="MIUI 13 Logo" width="1037" height="691" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-D.jpeg 1037w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-D-300x200.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-D-768x512.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-D-1024x682.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-D-696x464.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/MIUI-13-Logo-Featured-D-630x420.jpeg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 1037px) 100vw, 1037px" /></p>
<p>The MIUI 13 comes with a new MiSans font which is a part of Dynamic Font System 2.0. Similar to the iOS 14, this one too comes with support for dynamic widgets, a feature that the company was testing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-Widgets/">since August 2021</a>.</p>
<p>It brings Liquid Storage which reduces fragmentation and actively manages stored data along with improving defragmentation efficiency by up to 60 percent. There&#8217;s also Atomized Memory that brings RAM efficiency.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-433750 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A.png?x44794" alt="MIUI 13 Widgets" width="1492" height="842" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A.png 1492w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-768x433.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-1024x578.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-696x393.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-1068x603.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/MIUI-13-Widgets-Featured-A-744x420.png 744w" sizes="(max-width: 1492px) 100vw, 1492px" /></p>
<p>It also has Focused Algorithms for dynamically allocating system resources based on usage scenarios which help make the interface fluid and responsive. It also prioritizes active apps, allowing the CPU to focus on important tasks.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s also a Smart Balance feature to automatically find the balance between performance and power consumption. It is also claimed to extend the battery life by up to 10 percent. Xiaomi is also focusing more on privacy with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/miui">MIUI</a> 13.</p>

<p>This custom skin for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android">Android</a> means that Huawei is keeping EMUI around for its smartphones launched outside China. In its home country, the company is using its own HarmonyOS for its devices and isn&#8217;t limited to just smartphones.</p>
<p>The newly announced EMUI 12 comes with a refreshed <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/user-interface">user interface</a> and tons of customizations. It now has a cleaner, minimalist, and realistic interface that makes use of three colors &#8212; white, black, and blue.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-408735 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/EMUI-12-interface.jpg?x44794" alt="EMUI 12 interface" width="916" height="691" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/EMUI-12-interface.jpg 916w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/EMUI-12-interface-300x226.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/EMUI-12-interface-768x579.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/EMUI-12-interface-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/EMUI-12-interface-696x525.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/EMUI-12-interface-557x420.jpg 557w" sizes="(max-width: 916px) 100vw, 916px" /></p>
<p>It not only allows users to adjust the font size but also its weight just with a slider. There&#8217;s also an easy access control panel allowing users to control playback, get access to Bluetooth and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/wi-fi">Wi-Fi</a> settings as well as shortcuts, and connected devices on Device+.</p>
<p>Huawei also introduced Device+, which is a feature that allows for easy collaboration between Huawei devices, including multi-screen collaboration, making calls, sending messages, and viewing photos, and more.</p>
<p>The EMUI 12 also comes with improved performance, better response time, and smooth app startups, as well as better and improved security features. You can check out all the new features of this new EMUI by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/27/huawei-quietly-announces-emui-12-brings-a-redesigned-ui-and-new-customizations/">clicking here</a>.</p>

Since then, rumors about the phone&#8217;s global launch keep making rounds and now we know when these devices are launching globally.</p>
<p>Folks at <em>TechRadar</em> <a href="https://www.techradar.com/news/huawei-p50-will-launch-worldwide-but-not-until-2022">claims</a> that Huawei has confirmed with them that the Huawei P50 series flagship smartphones will make a global debut next year, i.e. in 2022. This was apparently revealed by the Chinese tech giant during the launch of the Huawei Note 9 smartphone.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-402827 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/HUAWEI-P50-Featured-01.jpg?x44794" alt="HUAWEI P50 Featured 01" width="735" height="490" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/HUAWEI-P50-Featured-01.jpg 735w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/HUAWEI-P50-Featured-01-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/HUAWEI-P50-Featured-01-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/HUAWEI-P50-Featured-01-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 735px) 100vw, 735px" /></p>
<p>The company has not yet revealed the launch nor, dor has it shared a timeframe for the launch of its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/flagship-smartphone">flagship smartphones</a> but has just said that the launch of the P50 series for overseas customers will take place early next year.</p>
<p>This indicates that the Chinese tech giant is planning to bring both the devices to the global markets &#8212; P50 and P50 Pro. Given the current market conditions, we expect the phones to be available in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/europe">European market</a> but not in the US or Canada.</p>
<p>Also, as Huawei is barred from using Google&#8217;s services on its devices by the United States, the upcoming devices from the brand will come powered by its own HarmonyOS. While it has been received well in China, it will be interesting to how it works for a global audience.</p>
<p>The Huawei P50 Pro features a 6.6-inch curved <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oled">OLED display</a> with a screen resolution of 2700 x 1228 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and can show up to 1.07 billion colors.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-403219 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/huawei-p50-official.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei P50 Pro 4G" width="500" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/huawei-p50-official.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/huawei-p50-official-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/huawei-p50-official-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/huawei-p50-official-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p>Underneath, the device is powered by <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-888">Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888</a> flagship chipset. However, the processor in this smartphone doesn’t support 5G connectivity and is limited to 4G. There’s also another variant of the phone which is powered by the company’s own HiSilicon <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-9000">Kirin 9000 SoC</a>.</p>
<p>It comes with two primary cameras – a 50-megapixel f/1.8 RGB sensor with OIS and a 40-megapixel f/1.6 Black and White sensor. There’s also a 13-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera and a 64-megapixel f/3.5 telephoto <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/camera">camera</a> with OIS. On the front side, there’s a 13-megapixel f/2.4 front-facing camera with support for autofocus and AIS anti-shake.</p>
<p>The device is running the company&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos">HarmonyOS 2.0</a> operating system and is powered by a 4,360mAh battery that supports 66W fast wired charging and 50W wireless fast charging along with support for reverse wireless charging.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-390620 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped.jpeg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Redmi Note Series 200 Million Units Shipped Globally" width="1200" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped.jpeg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-300x150.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-768x384.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-1024x512.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-696x348.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-1068x534.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Redmi-Note-200-Million-Units-Shipped-840x420.jpeg 840w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>A few months ago, in November 2020, the company had announced that the Redmi Note series <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/19/redmi-note-series-global-sales-exceed-140-million-units/">managed to sell 140 million units</a>. This means that in about half a year, it has managed to sell an additional 60 million devices.</p>
<p>The company believes that the reason behind such popularity of the Redmi Note series smartphones is the brand&#8217;s strategy of offering high-end products with better technology, richer experience, and higher quality to everyone at an affordable pricing of around 1,000 yuan, which is approximately $155.</p>
<p>Xiaomi first introduced the Redmi Note series in 2014. A couple of years ago, in 2019, along with announcing the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-7">Redmi Note 7</a> series, it revealed that Redmi has become an independent brand. It is one of the most successful product lines of the Redmi brand.</p>
<p>This announcement from the company just days before Xiaomi is expected to launch the new Redmi Note 10 series smartphones in the Chinese market, likely on 26th May. The phone, powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/10/mediatek-announces-7nm-dimensity-700-5g-processor-for-affordable-5g-phones/">MediaTek Dimensity 700</a> SoC, is expected to be made available in China in four color options. The Pro version of the same is expected to come packed with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/lu-weibing">Lu Weibing</a>, Partner at Xiaomi Group, President of Xiaomi China and International Department as well as General Manager of Redmi brand, is set to host a talk on 26th May regarding the global shortage of chips and shed light on how it affects the company.</p>

<p>According to the <a href="https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20201217PD210.html">report</a>, the Top-5 brands&#8217; combined <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/notebook-shipments">Notebook shipments</a> are reportedly possible due to good sales in North America and Europe regions. So far, the shipments of Top-5 brands combined have reached the highest ever in October 2020. The list of brands included biggies like <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/HP">HP</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Lenovo">Lenovo</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Dell">Dell</a> as well.</p>
<p>Last month, HP beat Lenovo to become the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/17/global-notebook-pc-brand-q3-2020-strategy-analytics/">world&#8217;s largest notebook PC brand</a> in Q3 2020. However, the latest report says HP&#8217;s enterprise and consumer notebook shipments dipped in November. That said, Lenovo reportedly crawled back with Chromebook shipments. If we recall, Chromebooks&#8217; <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/13/global-pc-market-q3-2020-canalys/">shipments grew 122% YoY</a> in Q3 as per a recent report.</p>
<p>Coming back, the shipment contribution of Lenovo is both from its Japanese sub-brands and own brand supplied by Chinese and Taiwanese ODMs. Previously, it almost managed to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/08/17/lenovo-hp-50-notebook-market-q2-2020/">capture 50% of the entire market</a> along with HP two quarters back when pandemic was at its peak. Besides, shipments of DELL, which occupied third-place in Q3 with 13.7% market share, reportedly fell sharply in November.</p>
<h6 class="related" style="text-align: center"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/13/global-pc-shipments-surged-in-q3-2020-despite-shortage-in-supplies-report/">Global PC shipments surged in Q3 2020 despite shortage in supplies: report</a></strong></h6>
<p>The report also says that the ripple effect on shipments affected ODMs as well. Accordingly, the Top-3 ODMs'(Original Design Manufacturer) shipments dipped about 4% in November 2020. Some of the ODMs mentioned in the report are Compal Electronics, Quanta Computers.</p>
<p>In this, Compal Electronics, which is a Taiwanese ODM for top brands was affected the most with lackluster orders from Dell. However, Quanta Computers&#8217; shipments have reportedly reached a new level due to the increase in orders. Overall, the year 2020 has been a rollercoaster for the desktop and Notebook PC market both in terms of inventories and sales figures.</p>

The reason for this is the ongoing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coronavirus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Coronavirus</a> pandemic, which has affected the global supply chain.</p>

<p>According to a new report, the global market crossing 1 million units in production for 8K TVs might not be achieved until after 2020 passes. As it stands right now, the world is gripped by the viral outbreak which has affected various economies and industries as well. The lower production numbers arrive despite various OEMs launching their 8K offerings.</p>

Currently, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/sharp/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Sharp</a> has been trying to bump its 8K TV shipments in the Taiwan market. The brand has already discounted its 60 inch 8K models recently and is already planning to market its 120 inch 8K TV in Q2 of 2020.</p>

<p>Many vendors are unable to promote their 8K TV offerings in strategic markets like China, Europe, and the US. These regions generally have a high demand for such high resolution TVs. However, the recent pandemic has made it much harder for companies to follow through. The postponement of the Tokyo Olympics has also hampered many vendors&#8217; plans for promotion.</p>
