Honor Partners With AutoNavi for Smart Travel & Smart Life Services, and More

Earlier today (17th January 2023), Honor signed an official agreement with AutoNavi that enters both firms into a strategic partnership in China. This cooperation will have both companies share technologies and research and development efforts into various fields. So here are all the details.

The Chinese smartphone maker along with AutoNavi announced the joint cooperation that will work in the fields of smart travel services, smart life services, indoor navigation, and wearable navigation technology as well. In other words, the partnership will bring a new series of smart services that will seek to offer an improved user experience across different technologies. So now, Honor will be gain access to Gaode Map, which will help improve predication and learning capabilities of Honor’s AI.

According to Dong Zhenning, Vice President of AutoNavi Maps, Honor smart Service products that will now be equipped with Honor Magic Live platform level AI and AutoNavi Maps location service based capabilities. Similarly, Deng Bin, Honor President of R&D Management, the new cooperation will seek to improve on MagicOS’ four core technologies. This includes innovation, co-creation with partners, promote development of smart services, and maintain a level of openness. Although finer details regarding this partnership is still at large so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.

Honor Tab V7 confirmed to go official in China on September 26

Last month, Honor had launched its latest Honor Tab V7 Pro tablet in its home country. It went on sale the same month it was announced and now the company is all set to launch a watered-down model of the same.

Honor has scheduled a product launch event named Honor Smart Life on 26th September and the company will be unveiled several new products at the same event. Among others, the company has confirmed to launch Honor Tab V7.

In a teaser poster shared by the company, it has been revealed that the upcoming Honor Tab V7 features support for multi-screen collaboration. From the image, it appears that unlike the Pro variant, the upcoming regular version will have curved edges.

As of now, details about the specifications, features, memory options, pricing, and availability is not known for the Honor Tab V7. However, since the launch is just a few days away, we expect to know more about it in the coming days.

The Honor Tab V7 Pro, which was launched last month, comes with an 11-inch 2K LCD screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 276ppi pixel density, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by MediaTek Kompanio 1300T chipset and supports RAM extension technology.

In the camera department, it features a 13-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The tablet runs the Android 11 operating system with Magic UI 5.0 on top that has been optimized for multi-tasking and offers features like multi-window function, split-screen, drag and drop, and more. It is powered by a 7,250mAh battery that carries support for 22.5W rapid charging.

The pricing of the Pro version starts at 2,599 yuan (~$402) for the base model and goes up to 3,699 yuan (~$572) for the top-end model. So, we expect the pricing for the upcoming Honor Tab V7 to be lower than 2,599 yuan.

Honor to launch high end MagicBook V 14 laptop on Sept. 26, signs new deal with Microsoft

Earlier today (16th September 2021), Honor officially announced that it will be hosting its Smart Life product launch conference on September 26. During this event, the company is expected to launch a number of new products including its new flagship notebook, the MagicBook V 14.

Notably, the Chinese smartphone maker signed a strategic cooperation with Microsoft earlier today as well, which was held at the new headquarters of the company. Furthermore, Zhao Ming, CEO of the brand, stated that it will be launching its latest high end laptop that will arrive with Windows 11. Apart from the MagicBook V 14, the company is also set to launch the new MagicBook 16/16 Pro during the Smart Life launch event.

Interestingly, Zhao Ming also revealed that Honor’s market share in the Chinese market laptop grew in 6.6 percent in July 2021. This also marked the company’s notebook market growth rising from 1.4 percent to 6.6 percent in just 4 months, which made it the fastest growing laptop brand in the industry in the first half of this year. In the Smart Life product launch conference, new tablets and smart screens are also expected make an appearance along with a possible official release of the Watch GS 3.

Honor has just announced that it will be hosting its Smart Life product launch conference on September 26. During this event, the company will announce various new smart devices and products.

The Chinese smartphone maker made the announcement earlier today (16th September 2021), with its official event slogan being “Pursue the Beauty with Wisdom, Connect Life with Technology.” Notably, the news of the September 26 Smart Life event also arrives after the previously announced Imaging Technology conference on September 22, which hints at possible upgrades for the Magic3 series’ camera system. Looking at the image poster shared by the company, we can see various smart products like laptops, TVs, tablets, and more.

In other words, we can expect to see the brand announce certain new products within those segment in the upcoming event later this month. Furthermore, while the company had announced the Honor Watch GS 3 in a launch event back in August, the smart wearable has yet to be officially released. So, we could also see the official launch of this smartwatch as well, which features 8 channel PPG sensor that uses an AI algorithm and AI Engine to accurately measure heart rate.

Honor has launched four new products under the Pro-selection series(Global name: HONOR CHOICE) in China. These products debuted alongside the Band 6, new Colors of Watch GS Pro. And they include two electric Shavers, an intelligent Voice Car holder, and an Anti-bacterial humidifier.

Honor’s posted the details, and price of its new Smart Life products on Weibo. For the unware, Pro-selection series(CHOICE) is a portfolio of HONOR smart life products, co-developed by HONOR and a select group of industry-leading manufacturers.

The Electric Shavers and Humidifier will be up for grabs on November 4 at 0:00 China time on Vmall(Huawei, Honor Mall), and Tmall. However, the Car Holder is up for pre-order currently.

Pro-selection(CHOICE) x MSN Electric and Portable Shavers

First off is a Quick Speed Net Electric Shaver which is in collaboration with MSN. It features a cluster of three blades with a double ring net design. It also has a floating knife net, a floating comfort zone, and a multi-directional floating knife head for smooth shaving. Spec-wise, there are 15 sets of blades with a combination of 135 teeth. The motor inside is a brushless motor with a Torque or 245g.cm. Honor says the new shaver has 50% more shaving efficiency than others.

Next up is a Travel Portable Electric Shaver. Weighing in just at 113 grams, Honor says it is very compact and portable to carry around. At the top, there is a spherical mesh with blades that help you get a smooth shave. This electric shaver also has an IPX5 rating to protect against water splashes. Honor says a single charge will give you up to 45 days of battery life. The shaver also has a small USB-C port for charging which is ubiquitous these days.

Pro-selection(CHOICE) x DDPAI intelligent Voice Car Holder

Alongside the shavers, Honor also unveiled a new Intelligent Voice Car Holder in partnership with DDPAI. The highlight is the voice control via AI and it supports both Android and iOS platforms. IT is basically a smartphone holder, that can be controlled via voice, and charge the device wirelessly as well.

There is a light indicator at the bottom. The base of the holder also has an induction electric clamp arm, with a double-bracket suitable for all models. Additionally, the holder also features a three-stage adjustable base and shaft for firm grip. Honor says the holder supports 15W Wireless charging and the device can be charged even with a case.

Pro-selection(CHOICE) x SICPO Anti-bacterial Fog-free Humidifier

Finally, we have the Anti-bacterial Fog-free humidifier. Honor says the product adopts a fog-free evaporative humidification process. It has a 3Litre large Water tank. This when filled completely, can help it to humidity the room for about 12 hours at 400ml per hour.

Apparently, it has an anti-bacterial design inside with a filter that helps it to punch pure oxygen with moisture into the room. There are two modes of airflow- warm, and air according to conditions. Honor says the product can turn your room into a Forest with a Moist oxygen supply throughout the day.

Honor Smart Life product launch event scheduled in China on May 18

Huawei‘s sub-brand Honor has today announced that the company will be a hosting a new Honor Smart Life product launch event in China on 18th May. In this event, the company is expected to launch smart home products for ease-of-access.

While announcing the launch event, the company said: “Turn your life vision into reality one by one, let life be with you upgrade together.” We are expecting a major focus on Internet of Things (IoT) from the company.

The event announcement is in line with what the company’s president Zhao Ming had teased during GMIC LIVE 2020 conference. He had said that Honor will host a major press conference in May for new products.

It remains to be seen what the company is planning to launch at this upcoming Honor Smart Life event. It seems that the company will continue with its “1+8+n” strategy with the new products and will continue to have smartphone as a cor or bridge between smart products to link each other.

Meanwhile, the company has also announced another launch event just a couple of days after the Honor Smart Life event. The company has confirmed that it’ll be launching Honor X10 5G smartphone in China on 20th May and it could be the cheapest 5G offering from the company so far.
