Huawei MatePad Paper sales surpasses Amazon Kindle

The Huawei MatePad Paper is a highly rated e-book reader tablet that has gained popularity among consumers in China. In fact, it has become the best-selling e-book reader tablet in the Chinese e-commerce market, surpassing Amazon’s Kindle by the end of the third quarter of 2022. This information comes from a report published by Chinese tech research firm RUNTO, which analyzed sales data for e-book reader tablets in the third quarter of 2022. The Huawei MatePad Paper came out on top in the rankings.

According to a recent report, the Huawei MatePad Paper has quickly become the fastest-growing e-book reader tablet in China. In fact, it has already surpassed Amazon’s Kindle Youth Edition in terms of online sales just two months after its launch. As a result, the Huawei MatePad Paper has taken the top spot in terms of cumulative sales of e-book reader tablets in the Chinese online market from March to the end of the third quarter of 2022. The device has been the top seller for a long time, making it a popular choice among consumers.”

The Huawei MatePad Paper was the best-selling tablet in the e-commerce market over the past three months. In May, its sales exceeded 10,000 units, making it the only e-paper office notebook to sell over 10,000 units online in a single month. The MatePad Paper features a 10.3-inch E Ink display with a screen-to-body ratio of 86.3%, a resolution of 1872 x 1404 pixels, and a pixel density of 227 PPI. The E Ink display is ideal for reading ebooks and documents, and the tablet is powered by a new Kirin 820E chipset, which provides enough power for steady Ebook management. The MatePad Paper also has a 3625 mAh battery that can be recharged with a 22.5W charger, as well as sensors for gravity, hall, and fingerprint. It also has 4 microphones and 2 speakers, and the audio is enhanced with Huawei Histen 7.0 Sound Effect.

Huawei‘s e-ink table – the MatePad Paper is now selling in Europe for €499 (~$521). The Europe launch is coming almost four months after it was first announced back in February during the Mobile World Congress.

The MatePad Paper is yet another Huawei device gradually making its way into the global market and Europe especially. Huawei is gradually pursuing its resurgence across several fronts after the debilitating US sanctions regime. The slate is bundled with a few accessories including an M-Pencil and Paper Folio Cover.

The Huawei MatePad Paper packs a 10.3-inch e-ink screen with a resolution of 1,872 x 1,404 pixels and pixel density of 227 PPI. It has an 86.3% screen-to-body ratio and is suited for use in various light conditions. Optical character recognition (OCR) is supported on the MatePad Paper and it is powered by a hexa-core chip. Huawei is silent on the particulars of the hexa-core chipset. Its RAM/ storage configuration is 4GB/64GB and a 3,625mAh battery offers four weeks of use on a single charge.

As stated earlier, the MatePad Paper comes with an M-Pencil accessory which is sold separately for $100, as well as a paper Folio Cover. The MatePad Paper is offered in the next 12 months on 0% finance. A 5% discount is also available for Unidays members, according to Huawei. The MatePad Paper is available only in black and comes with up to 28 days of battery life. It runs on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 2.
