Xiaomi just made a pretty big statement in Berlin. For the first time ever, the company showed up at IFA with its own massive presence, and it’s clear they’re serious about expanding beyond phones in Europe.

At their global launch event during the show, Xiaomi officially introduced the Mijia smart home brand to European (and global) audiences and confirmed it’s coming to the region in a big way. Their booth is over 3,300 square meters, the largest standalone overseas exhibition they’ve ever done, and it’s packed with more than 380 products. The whole thing revolves around their “Human × Car × Home” idea: phones, smart home devices, and eventually cars all talking to each other through AI.

Mijia is being positioned under the theme “The Art of Smart Living.” The brand has over 2,000 products across more than 130 categories. What’s interesting is that they’re finally bringing over some of the bigger appliances that were mostly limited to China until now, including multi-function washers, air conditioners with radar sensors, and fridges designed to keep food fresher for longer. The pitch is that all these devices work together in one ecosystem and can actually anticipate what you need.

Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s partner and president, was on stage and once again confirmed that Xiaomi cars are still on track to launch in Europe next year (2027). They’re not just talking about it either. The company already has an R&D setup in Munich, is working on adapting the cars for European roads and regulations, and has signed agreements with major German dealer groups to start building a sales and service network.

All in all, Xiaomi’s first real IFA appearance feels like a clear signal: they’re no longer just a phone company in Europe. By pushing Mijia hard and locking in the 2027 car timeline, they’re betting that European customers will actually want a fully connected ecosystem that stretches from the living room all the way to the driveway.

Xiaomi is currently running a crowdfunding campaign on its Youpin platform for a new travel mug, the Mijia Flip-Top Thermos Cup 2. The campaign runs from September 2nd through September 9th, pricing the 500mL thermos at 79 yuan ($12) before it moves to a standard retail price of 109 yuan ($16). It is a standard, non-smart thermos that focuses on basic utility and material choices rather than connected features.

The lid incorporates a mechanical auto-locking design meant for one-handed operation. To open it, you slide a small lock switch to the left and press the release button. When you close the lid, the lock automatically slides back into place. The goal of this mechanism is to keep the thermos from opening by accident and spilling inside a bag.

Inside the lid, the drinking spout and the internal filter are made of polyphenylsulfone, or PPSU. This is a plastic polymer often used in baby bottles because it handles high temperatures well and does not easily retain smells from drinks like coffee or tea. The spout can also be completely detached from the main lid, which makes it easier to clean out any trapped residue.

The main body of the thermos uses a 316L stainless steel liner. According to Xiaomi, the manufacturing process involves a thin-wall construction to reduce the overall weight of the cup, along with a mirror electrolytic treatment. This treatment gives the inside of the thermos a smooth finish, meaning a simple rinse with water is usually enough to clean it out.

For insulation, the cup uses a standard tailless vacuum process between the inner and outer walls, supplemented by a copper-plated inner layer. Xiaomi’s testing claims the thermos will maintain hot liquids at 68 degrees Celsius or higher for six hours. For cold drinks, it will hold temperatures at 10 degrees Celsius or lower for the same six-hour period. The vacuum layer also keeps the outside of the thermos at a normal temperature when carrying hot water.

The mug also includes a silicone pad on the bottom to prevent the metal from clanking on hard surfaces, a dual-thread design for taking the lid off, and a pull tab on the rubber sealing ring to make it easier to remove for washing. The thermos is available in matte white, navy blue, and mist purple, as well as a pearlescent glacier blue.

The appliance is built to handle a practical household task: washing different types of clothes at the same time without mixing them together.

Instead of a standard single drum, the machine splits its 5kg washing capacity across two independent 2.5kg tubs. For drying, each drum holds up to 1.5kg, giving the unit a total drying capacity of 3kg. This setup means you can wash baby clothes in one drum and adult clothes in the other, or keep delicates away from heavier fabrics. To make sure the loads stay separated, the machine uses independent water and drying channels for each tub, which prevents water from one drum crossing into the other.

Inside, the washer uses a direct-drive motor that reaches a maximum spin speed of 1,200rpm. The drums are 255mm in diameter. For detergent, the machine has two separate 150ml auto-dosing dispensers. It calculates how much soap is needed for a specific load to cut down on residue. Xiaomi claims a full dispenser can last for around a month under typical use, while the self-cleaning system helps prevent blockages over time.

The machine includes 34 wash programs for specific stains like coffee, mud, and makeup. There is a 40-minute quick wash-and-dry cycle for small items, and a 40°C low-temperature drying mode for silk that uses sensors to stop the cycle when the fabric is dry.

If you leave clothes in the machine overnight, it turns on a ventilation system to circulate fresh air and limit odors. It also has a 95°C high-temperature drum-cleaning mode and claims a 99.99% removal rate for bacteria and viruses.

Like other Mijia devices, it connects to the Mi Home app and HyperOS system. It supports voice controls and receives over-the-air software updates. The unit measures 598 x 574 x 478mm, which allows it to fit into standard 600mm-deep cabinets. It weighs 41kg and can sit on the floor, on a counter, or stacked on top of a standard front-loading washing machine.

Xiaomi has released a new floor-standing air conditioner in China. The Mijia Air Conditioner Giant Energy-Saving Floor-Standing 5HP is currently available on JD.com for 7,999 yuan (around $1,190).

It is designed for large spaces, specifically rooms between 50 and 80 square meters, making it an option for both homes and small commercial areas. Inside, the system is powered by a 38.6cc displacement compressor. Xiaomi paired this with a dual-row condenser and a dual-row evaporator.

The unit provides a maximum cooling capacity of 13,200W and a maximum heating capacity of 17,250W. To help adjust room temperatures quickly, the system supports 30-second rapid cooling and 60-second rapid heating. It does not use auxiliary electric heating at all. Instead, it relies entirely on its heat pump, which is built to function in outside temperatures ranging from -35°C to 65°C.

To circulate air, the indoor unit is equipped with a 120mm fan wheel. It can push up to 1,850 cubic meters of air per hour through a 181mm opening. The airflow has a 115-degree spread and can reach up to 17 meters across a room. The system includes four-way airflow adjustments, with specific settings that direct air along the ceiling or the floor so you can avoid a direct breeze.

For efficiency, the unit holds a Class 1 energy rating and an Annual Performance Factor (APF) of 3.75. Xiaomi estimates that its software algorithms can cut energy consumption by roughly 20% during standard use, potentially saving users around 972kWh a year compared to older, less efficient models.

Because it is a Xiaomi product, it connects to the Mijia app, supports XiaoAI voice commands, and works with HyperOS Connect. The software provides cloud-based diagnostics that can identify 122 different hardware issues, like low refrigerant or blockages, and it supports over-the-air updates. Basic maintenance is handled by a self-cleaning cycle that uses a 58°C heating process to dry and clean the indoor evaporator.

The indoor unit is a simple white tower measuring 1,868mm tall and weighing 30kg. It produces about 50 to 52dB(A) of noise at high fan speeds. The outdoor unit weighs 68kg.

Xiaomi is expanding its smart home lineup in India with two new air purifiers: the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact. The two devices are aimed at different ends of the market, with the larger model designed for living rooms and the compact version meant for desks or small bedrooms.

Specifications and Pricing

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is the more capable of the two, priced at ₹19,999 ($210). It features a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 443 m³/h and is rated to handle spaces up to 940 square feet. Xiaomi has packed a five-stage filtration system into this unit. Alongside the standard primary filter and activated carbon layer, it includes UVC sterilization and a negative ion generator.

For monitoring, the Purifier 6 features five sensors that track temperature, humidity, dust, PM2.5, and PM1. The PM1 sensor can detect ultra-fine particles smaller than 1 micron, a feature more commonly found on pricier air purifiers.

Instead of a traditional, densely packed HEPA filter, both new purifiers use Xiaomi’s proprietary electrostatic filter media. The company claims that by using melt-blown fibers with an electrostatic charge, the filter allows more air to pass through with less resistance. In practical terms, this is meant to keep the fan noise down and reduce energy consumption while still capturing 99.97% of airborne particles.

The smaller Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact costs ₹7,999 ($84). It strips away the UVC light, the ionizer, and the extra sensors to focus on basic air cleaning for smaller spaces. It has a CADR of 230 m³/h, covers up to 400 square feet, and uses a standard three-layer filter setup. It is primarily built for quiet operation, featuring a sleep mode that drops the noise output to 20dB.

As with most of Xiaomi’s home appliances, both purifiers connect to the Xiaomi Home app. From there, you can check real-time air quality, adjust fan speeds, set schedules, and monitor filter degradation. These also support basic voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Both models only come in white. They will be available starting September 2, 2026, through Xiaomi’s website, Amazon India, Flipkart, Blinkit, and physical retail stores.

To address the common issue of clothes getting damp during steaming, the Mijia iron uses a secondary heating system and ceramic-glazed soleplate to reduce condensation and water marks. Xiaomi also claims its 135°C steam achieves a 99.99% sterilization rate.

The physical design is built around an integrated ironing board that adjusts from 0 to 90 degrees. You can lock it vertically for standard steaming, tilt it to 45 degrees, or lay it completely flat. To save you from bending down to the base station, all power and steam controls are located on the handle. It also features a grip sensor; the steam automatically pauses when you let go of the handle and shuts down entirely if left idle for 30 minutes.

You get three steam settings tailored for different fabric weights, plus a burst-steam mode for flat ironing and formal wear. The base houses a 2-liter water tank, which provides over 40 minutes of continuous use. Xiaomi estimates a full tank can handle about 17 shirts or 14 suit jackets.

Xiaomi has introduced a new large-capacity refrigerator to its home appliance lineup in China. The Mijia Refrigerator Pro 600L Cross-Door Automatic Ice Maker is currently up for preorder on JD.com for 4,469 yuan (around $662), with an official release date set for August 31.

As the name suggests, the fridge offers 600 liters of total storage space, making it a fairly massive unit aimed at larger households. That capacity is split between a 375-liter top refrigeration section and a 225-liter bottom freezer.

Inside the fridge compartment, there is a dedicated 36-liter drawer with adjustable temperature settings. You can switch this drawer between three modes: dry goods, zero-degree, and a setting for baby products, depending on what you need to store.

From a hardware perspective, the most practical feature is the dual-system cooling setup. Xiaomi put independent evaporators and fans in both the fridge and the freezer. Because the two sections don’t share air, you don’t have to worry about odors from the fridge migrating over and ruining the taste of your ice.

The freezer also includes a -30°C deep-freeze setting, which is meant to freeze items fast enough to prevent large ice crystals from forming and damaging the texture of the food.

The fridge also includes a built-in ice maker, but it doesn’t require complex plumbing. Instead, you manually fill an internal water reservoir, and the system handles the rest, storing up to 130 ice cubes at a time.

It connects to Xiaomi’s Mijia app, which lets you schedule ice production, check water levels, and run a three-minute self-cleaning cycle to flush out the internal water lines.

To handle smells and bacteria, the main compartment uses an ion purification system built into the air vents, while the freezer relies on a standard silver-ion antibacterial module.

It operates at a rated power of 110W, which means it can also be powered by a standard car inverter for use outside the home.

For ice production, the machine makes eight cubes per cycle and includes two specific settings: Quick Ice and Standard Ice. The Quick Ice mode produces a batch in about six to eight minutes. The Standard Ice setting takes longer but creates larger, clearer cubes.

According to Xiaomi, the machine uses a freezing process that reduces air bubbles and impurities. This denser ice takes about seven minutes to fully melt in 300ml of water, which is useful for drinks like cold-brew coffee, cocktails, or whiskey where slower dilution is preferred.

The internal hardware includes a 1-liter water tank and a removable 0.75-liter ice basket. The basket holds between 64 and 80 cubes at a time. Unlike the usual ultrasonic humidifiers that shoot out visible mist, the newly launched Mijia No-Mist Humidifier 3 (1500mL/h) works with pure natural evaporation. As the name suggests, it can put out up to 1,500 mL of moisture per hour without any fog. It’s a better fit for larger living spaces.

It has a 6-liter water tank treated with silver ions for solid antibacterial protection, and on a full fill it should run for around 10 hours. In sleep mode the display dims on its own and the noise drops to a quiet 31.5 dB(A). You can tweak things further in the Mi Home app, including automatic screen-off and muted notifications.

Hygiene seems to be a big focus. The humidification filter uses antibacterial fiber with a safe antimicrobial coating that helps resist mold, and you can wash it by hand to keep odors down. There’s also a separate water-purification filter that catches dust and other junk that builds up in the tank. The whole thing is modular, so you can easily take apart the filter cartridge, impeller, water tank, and pump for a proper clean.

On top there’s a digital display that shows the current indoor humidity and how much water is left. High-precision sensors automatically adjust the output to keep the humidity steady at whatever level you set. You can control it remotely through the Mi Home app, set a preferred humidity level, and use a 24-hour timer. Xiao Ai voice commands work for hands-free control, and it plays nice with other smart devices like air conditioners, heaters, and door locks for automated routines.

This 1,500 mL/h version sits at the top of Xiaomi’s current Mijia no-mist range, with smaller 400 mL/h, 600 mL/h, and 800mL/h models previously available.

Pricing and availability

The Mijia No-Mist Humidifier 3 (1500mL/h) is already listed on Xiaomi Youpin with a crowdfunding price of 899 yuan. Sales and crowdfunding kick off on August 17 in the home country.

The vacuum is designed to handle various types of floor messes by combining high temperatures with targeted cleaning agents. Inside the unit, a 300W boiler generates 160°C steam, spraying it at a 45-degree angle to help loosen dried dirt before the roller passes over it.

Alongside the steam function, Xiaomi included an active foam system. By holding a button on the handle, the vacuum dispenses a dense cleaning foam formulated to break down heavy grease and stubborn stains.

For standard vacuuming, the device pulls 26,000Pa of suction and applies about 60.3N of downward pressure on the floor. It uses a 400rpm roller brush, which is paired with a blue-light LED on the cleaning head to illuminate dust and debris in darker areas.

Dealing with tangled hair is a common issue with wet-dry vacuums, so Xiaomi has included a fine-tooth comb system and a constant-pressure metal scraper that continuously pulls hair off the roller brush as it spins.

The vacuum also features a water-and-air separation system, which allows the entire unit to lie completely flat to reach under furniture without losing suction power. To help manage the weight of the water tanks, the vacuum has a motorized central wheel that actively assists with pushing, pulling, and turning.

The base station handles most of the post-cleaning maintenance. When docked, it runs a self-cleaning cycle using 100°C boiling water to wash the roller brush. Afterward, it uses a built-in PTC heater to dry the brush, the base, and the internal pathways in about five minutes to prevent odors.

The vacuum is rated for up to 40 minutes of battery life. It carries a 1,000ml clean-water tank and a 700ml dirty-water tank, which uses a solid-liquid separator to make emptying it a bit easier. You can switch between four cleaning modes using the built-in LED display.

The ice-making system sounds surprisingly capable as well. According to Xiaomi, the machine can produce a batch of five 6g ice cubes in as little as 10 minutes in fast mode, while the standard mode produces five larger 10g cubes in around 15 minutes. The storage compartment can hold 45 to 55 cubes and keeps them chilled for about five hours.

Hot water is available almost instantly thanks to a 2050W heating system, with Xiaomi claiming a wait time of just three seconds. Users can choose from several preset temperatures, while those using the Mi Home app can adjust water temperature more precisely between 40°C and 90°C.

There’s quite a bit of attention paid to hygiene too. The company says the machine uses separate UV sterilization systems for both ice and cold water, along with high-temperature pipe cleaning to reduce bacteria buildup. Features like automatic draining and cold-water circulation are also designed to keep the system fresh during long-term use.

Xiaomi has added a new cordless vacuum to its home appliance lineup in China. Following the recent release of the 4C model, the company is now introducing the Mijia Wireless Vacuum Cleaner 4. It is priced at 999 yuan (roughly $146) and goes on pre-sale starting today through JD.com.

The vacuum is built around a brushless motor that operates at 120,000 RPM. According to Xiaomi, it provides 230AW of suction power and a maximum suction force of 25,000Pa. This is standard for the category and is meant to handle everyday household debris like pet hair, food crumbs, and fine dust.

The device comes with a 180-degree blue light integrated into the cleaning head. The light illuminates the floor up to 30 centimeters ahead, which helps make fine dust particles more visible, particularly under furniture or in dimly lit rooms. The cleaning head is also designed to support right-side edge cleaning to help pick up dirt along baseboards.

Internally, the vacuum uses an infrared sensor to monitor the amount of dust passing through the system. When set to Smart Mode, the device adjusts its suction automatically, increasing power when it detects heavier dirt and lowering it on cleaner surfaces to conserve battery life.

To address hair wrapping around the roller, Xiaomi included a dual anti-tangle system. The main floor brush has a built-in comb structure that separates hair as the brush spins. The included motorized mite brush uses a floating mechanism to direct hair straight into the suction channel.

In terms of capacity, the kettle holds 1.7 liters of water, which yields about eight standard cups per boil. It sits on a 1800W base designed for fast and even heating.

The most notable functional feature is the constant temperature mode. By pressing a button on the base, users can set the kettle to hold water at a steady 55°C (about 131°F). It uses a low-power PTC insulation system that can maintain this temperature for up to 24 hours. Xiaomi has released a new electric toothbrush in China, the Mijia Sonic Vibration Electric Toothbrush Pro. It has a suggested retail price of 549 yuan (roughly $80), with introductory pricing set at 505 yuan ($74). The toothbrush comes in dark blue, light gold, and light purple colors.

The toothbrush is built around what Xiaomi calls a dual-degree-of-freedom motor. The goal of this motor is to automatically replicate the Bass method, which is the brushing technique most dental professionals recommend for cleaning along the gumline.

To achieve this, the brush combines a 1mm horizontal vibration with a 30-degree vertical sweeping motion. The hardware is capable of 30,720 vertical sweeps and 600 horizontal vibrations per minute. It also features an automatic resistance adjustment system, meaning the toothbrush will dial back its power if you press too hard against your gums.

To track your brushing, the device relies on an internal six-axis sensor. The sensor identifies the position and angle of the brush head in your mouth, distinguishing between chewing surfaces, the inner arch, and the back molars. It then adjusts the vibration pattern based on where you are brushing.

All of this tracking data is sent to the color screen on the handle. While you brush, the display shows your duration, coverage area, and pressure warnings. When you turn it off, the screen generates a brief report that highlights any zones in your mouth that need more attention.

For deeper customization, the toothbrush connects to the Mijia app, where you can manually adjust the vibration intensity, sweeping range, and brushing time, or select specific routines for sensitive teeth.

Physically, the toothbrush has an anodized aluminum alloy body, which is a departure from the standard plastic used in most electric toothbrushes. It is IPX8 water-resistant and includes a soft rubber shock-absorbing structure to reduce the amount of vibration you feel in your hand. The brush head itself can flex up to 45 degrees to help reach the back of the mouth.

The smart home and home appliance brand of Xiaomi, called Mijia, has introduced a new Mijia Smart Dishwasher Pro Built-in 18-Set in China. Now available through Xiaomi Youpin at a listed price of 6,999 yuan (~$1,025), the dishwasher supports up to 18 place settings and claims it can clean around 130 pieces of tableware in a single cycle. 

Its internal layout uses a three-layer rack system, designed in what Xiaomi calls a “Chinese-style” configuration. The dishwasher uses a triple-spray-arm system paired with a five-stage vortex wash. Xiaomi says this setup helps push water into corners and tight spaces that are usually harder to reach. There’s also a BLDC dual-frequency motor delivering up to 52,000Pa of washing pressure.

The machine includes a built-in 450ml detergent tank, and a single refill can last up to three weeks, depending on usage. One of the more noticeable features is the projected floor display. Instead of checking a panel, users can see the washing progress projected onto the ground. 

Wash cycles and sterilization 

Drying and sterilization are handled through a combination of high-temperature cycles and airflow. The dishwasher supports temperatures up to 135°C for internal sterilization, alongside what Xiaomi describes as a dual-duct disinfection system. 

There’s also an automatic door-opening feature to speed up drying by releasing moisture after a cycle ends. For faster use cases, it has a 59-minute wash-and-dry mode. 

The dishwasher supports 16+4 washing programs that cover different cleaning needs. It also integrates with Xiaomi’s ecosystem, allowing control through the Mijia app or voice commands via XiaoAI-enabled devices. 

In terms of build, the unit measures 598 × 775 × 570mm and is designed for embedded installation. It weighs around 45.5kg and runs on standard 220V power. Water consumption is rated at 12.4 liters per cycle, with energy usage at about 0.835 kWh per run, aligning with China’s efficiency standards.
