<p>October is the battle month for several 2024 flagships including the vivo X200 series, Xiaomi 15 series, Oppo&#8217;s Find X8 series and Honor&#8217;s Magic 7 series. However, Q4 isn&#8217;t entirely reserved for flagships. Now Weibo tipster &#8220;看山的叔叔&#8221; reveals some key details about the Huawei <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nova-13/">Nova 13</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nova-13-pro/">Nova 13 Pro</a>.</p>

<p>Although he claimed the specifications were for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/honor-magic-7/">Honor Magic 7</a> series, based on previous rumors, it&#8217;s safe to assume that they belong to the Nova 13 and Nova 13 Pro. The discussion in the comments section also supports this.</p>

<h2>Huawei Nova 13 specifications:</h2>

<p>The Huawei Nova 13 is expected to come in four different color options: Starry Black, Green, Feather White, Feather Purple. The phone will offer a glass back and under-display optical fingerprint scanner in the front.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="629" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-1024x629.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-654129" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-1024x629.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-300x184.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-768x471.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-696x427.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-1068x656.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-684x420.jpg 684w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1-356x220.jpg 356w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-Nova-13-Pro-specs-1.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Speaking of cameras, there is a 60-megapixel shooter in the front and a 50-megapixel + 8-megapixel combo on the rear. The phone will reportedly come in two different storage and memory configuration–12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB, and will support 100W fast charging.</p>

<h2>Nova 13 Pro:</h2>

<p>The Pro model is also expected to adopt the same 100W fast charging support, under-display optical fingerprint scanner, and glass back.</p>

<p>However, alongside the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants, a 12GB+1TB option will also be available for the Pro model.</p>

<p>Speaking of cameras, the 60-megapixel selfie shooter will be accompanied by another 8MP camera. The rear camera setup includes 50MP (RYYB) + 12MP + 8MP lens combination—one extra lens than the base model.</p>

<p>According to a previous leak from Fixed Focus Digital, the Nova 13 series could launch as soon as on October 22. For context, Huawei launched the Nova 12 series towards the end of December last year.</p>

<p>In terms of performance, the phones are expected to feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/22/kirin-9010-vs-snapdragon-8-gen-3/">Kirin 9010</a> SoC, which was announced on April 18, 2024, as part of Huawei&#8217;s Pura 70 series. The chipset reportedly boasts a 12-core architecture (2+6+4), with TaiShan V121 cores for performance and mid-range tasks, and Cortex-A510 cores for efficiency.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a> has a busy release schedule ahead, with three phone lineups expected to launch before the end of 2024. The Nova 13 series, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-mate-70/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate 70 series</a>, and the foldable <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-mate-x6/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Mate X6 </a>are all on the docket, but it&#8217;s the Nova 13 that seems closest to hitting store shelves.</p>

<p>A leak from reliable tipster <em>Digital Chat Station</em> initially <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/09/19/nova-13-series-mate-70-series-and-mate-x6-foldable-launch-timeframe-tipped/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">pointed to an October launch</a> for the Nova 13 series. And now a new leak from Weibo tipster <em>Fixed Focus Digital</em> suggests a more specific date, October 22nd. Another Weibo tipster, <em>UncleKanshan</em>, also tipped the same release date, adding weight to the rumored launch.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="260" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-series-launch-date-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-653885" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-series-launch-date-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-series-launch-date-leak-300x87.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-series-launch-date-leak-768x222.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Huawei-Nova-13-series-launch-date-leak-696x201.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>The Nova 12 series launched on December 26 and went international in March, so if these rumors hold, the Nova 13 series will debut two months earlier than its predecessor.</p>

<h2><strong>Huawei Nova 13 Series Specification (Expected)</strong></h2>

<p>The Nova 13 series is likely to have four models, Nova 13 Lite, 13s, 13 Pro, and 13 Ultra. All the devices are <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/07/22/huawei-nova-13-series-delayed-flip-phone-launch-august/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">expected</a> to be powered by the same flagship Kirin 9010 SoC that drives the recently launched Huawei Pura 70 series. The Pro and Ultra models may also get satellite connectivity support.</p>

<p>The series could also adopt the XMAGE camera branding seen on Huawei’s Pura and Mate flagship devices. The series is also tipped to offer improved selfie photography with dual front-facing cameras.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Nova 12 Ultra" class="wp-image-594105" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Huawei-Nova-12-Ultra-Featured.jpg 1440w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Moving on to the display, leaks suggest a flat screen for the standard Nova 13, while the remaining models might sport a slightly curved design. All devices are rumored to offer a 1.5K resolution display, a comfortable middle ground between Full HD and Quad HD.</p>

<p>The Nova 13 series will likely come with the HarmonyOS Next operating system. The rear camera setup may feature variable aperture technology for the main camera, while the higher-end models could include a periscope telephoto lens. Although unconfirmed, these details point to a feature-packed mid-range offering.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a>&#8216;s much-anticipated Nova 13 series smartphone launch has been pushed back, according to reliable industry tipster Digital Chat Station. The series, which was initially slated for an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/07/12/huawei-nova-13-series-two-flagship-tablets-tipped-to-launch-in-august/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">August debut</a>, will now not be making an appearance.</p>

<p>Instead, the Chinese tech giant is gearing up to unveil a Nova-branded flip phone in its stead. While details about this new device remain scarce, the Nova line’s reputation for offering high-end features at competitive prices suggests a similar approach for the upcoming flip phone.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="256" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Huawei-Nova-Flip-Phone.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-640252" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Huawei-Nova-Flip-Phone.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Huawei-Nova-Flip-Phone-300x85.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Huawei-Nova-Flip-Phone-768x218.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Huawei-Nova-Flip-Phone-696x198.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>As for the delayed Nova 13 series, whispers hint at a few interesting specs. The Pro and Ultra models are rumored to feature satellite connectivity, a feature that has gained traction in recent times. Powering these devices could be the same flagship Kirin 9010 SoC that drives the recently launched Huawei Pura 70 series.</p>

<p>The Nova 13 series might also inherit the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/29/huawei-nova-13-pro-nova-13-ultra-may-arrive-with-kirin-9010-xmage-imaging-tech/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">XMAGE camera branding</a> currently found on Huawei&#8217;s Pura and Mate flagships. The series is also tipped to offer improved selfie photography with dual front-facing cameras.</p>

<p>Moving on to the display, leaks suggest a flat screen for the standard Nova 13, while the remaining models might sport a slightly curved design. All devices are rumored to offer a 1.5K resolution display, a comfortable middle ground between Full HD and Quad HD.</p>

<p>The Nova 13 series is also expected to come pre-installed with the HarmonyOS Next operating system. The rear camera system is said to include variable aperture technology for the main camera, with a periscope telephoto lens likely reserved for the higher-tier models. Although these details are unconfirmed, they suggest a potentially feature-rich mid-range offering.</p>

<p>While the delay in the Nova 13 series launch is undoubtedly disappointing for fans, the prospect of a Huawei-branded flip phone adds an intriguing dimension to the company&#8217;s smartphone portfolio. We will keep you updated on any new developments regarding these smartphones.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> is reportedly working on the Nova 13 series of smartphones for the Chinese market. Initial rumors surrounding it claimed that the Nova 13 lineup would be announced in the second quarter of this year. However, a May report <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/05/23/huawei-nova-13-series-launch-july/">revealed</a> a postponement of its launch to July. While there is no new information about its arrival, a Chinese leaker has revealed what to expect from next-generation Nova phones.</p>

<h3><strong>Huawei Nova 13 series incoming</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-style-default"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="334" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/image-55-1024x334.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-637913" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/image-55-1024x334.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/image-55-300x98.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/image-55-768x251.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/image-55-696x227.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/image-55-1068x349.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/image-55.png 1189w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Tipster Smart Pikachu claims that Kirin processors are present in all models of the Huawei Nova 13 series. He added that the top variant features flagship-level satellite communication capabilities.</p>

<p>To recall, the Nova 12 series, which debuted in December 2023, included multiple models, such as the Nova 12 Lite, Nova 12s, Nova 12 Pro, and Nova 12 Ultra. Among these, the Pro and Ultra models came equipped with support for calling and messaging via satellite connectivity. Hence, it is likely that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/29/huawei-nova-13-pro-nova-13-ultra-may-arrive-with-kirin-9010-xmage-imaging-tech/">the Nova 13 Pro and Nova 13 Ultra</a> may continue to offer satellite connectivity.</p>

<p>The tipster further said that Huawei will also announce two Kirin-powered flagship tablets, also powered by Kirin chips. Both devices will also support Huawei’s Star Flash NearLink technology. For those who don’t know, it is a groundbreaking short-range wireless technology that combines the strengths of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It offers significantly faster transmission speeds, lower power consumption, lower latency, increased connection capacity, and enhanced security compared to existing technologies. The leak also suggests that the tablet may support satellite connectivity.</p>

<p>Regarding the launch, Huawei may unveil the Nova 13 series and the new tablets in August. A recent report claimed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/07/05/huawei-nova-series-flip-phone-could-launch-in-august-with-kirin-9010e/">Kirin 9010E-powered Nova-branded flip phone</a> may launch in August.</p>

<p>Additionally, Huawei&#8217;s Pura and Mate series of flagship phones currently sport the company&#8217;s XMAGE imaging branding. The Nova 13 Pro and Ultra models will likely inherit the XMAGE branding. In comparison to the Nova 12 lineup, the 13 series is expected to arrive with improvements in several departments, including performance, durability, and imaging capabilities, promising an elevated user experience.</p>

Except for the standard model in the series, which will have a flat screen, the other models will have a slightly curved screen. The entire series may support a 1.5K resolution. He further said that the Nova 13 series will offer an enhanced selfie photography experience, as it is expected to sport dual front-facing cameras. Lastly, all the models are expected to support 5G connectivity.</p>

<p>Smart Pikachu <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/22/huawei-nova-13-series-specs-leak/">also claimed</a> that the Nova 13 series will run on the new HarmonyOS Next. The lineup will also offer variable aperture for the primary camera, a periscope telephoto camera, and satellite connectivity support. The series is tentatively scheduled to debut by the end of the second quarter of this year.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a>, having recently launched its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/22/huawei-pura-70-pro-plus-sale-china/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pura 70 series </a>smartphones, is now reportedly focusing on its Nova 13 series. While specific information about these new smartphones is scarce, leaks from tipster &#8220;Smart Pikachu&#8221; have shed some light on what we can expect.</p>

<p>According to the leak, all Nova 13 phones will support 5G connectivity. It’s particularly noteworthy because the Huawei Nova 12 series has some models, like the base Nova 12 SE, that are stuck with 4G.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="278" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Nova 13 series leak " class="wp-image-620272" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-300x93.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-768x237.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-696x215.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>While the exact processor for the Nova 13 series remains uncertain, the tipster suggests it might use the new Kirin 9010 chip, which made its debut with the recent Huawei Pura 70 series smartphones.</p>

<p>On the front, the Nova 13 series is expected to come with a curved display boasting a 1.5K resolution.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While the camera details are scarce, the tipster hints at the possibility of a rear camera setup with a periscope lens and variable aperture support. Also, the lineup is said to prioritize the selfie experience by including dual front cameras.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="276" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-2.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-620273" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-2.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-2-300x92.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-2-768x236.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Huawei-Nova-13-series-leak-2-696x213.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>There are also rumors suggesting that the Nova 13 series smartphones will support two-way Beidou satellite communication technology. This feature would enable users to send and receive messages through Beidou satellites, even in areas without terrestrial network coverage.</p>

<p>Apart from this, there isn&#8217;t much information available regarding the specifications of the Huawei Nova 13 series. However, regarding its launch, the lineup is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2024. We&#8217;ll keep you updated on any new developments as they come in.</p>
