UPDATE: Company representative makes it clear that the OnePlus 3T 128GB edition is just out of stock and not discontinued globally. While the website said discontinued, it looks like you’ll be able to get the larger storage model when the next wave of stock arrives.

Five months after the OnePlus 3T 128GB version was announced, the production of the high-end OP3T variant has been discontinued. The OnePlus 3T was announced last year and came in Gunmetal and Soft Gold variants as well as a 64GB and later on the 128GB version. But OnePlus‘ official website is showing that the OP3T 128GB version has been discontinued.

According to a OnePlus representative who was responding to an inquiry as to why the company discontinued the 128GB variant, OnePlus needed to focus its efforts one just “one flagship device”  beign that the company is a small company. This could be taken to mean that the company may soon launch the OnePlus 5 who name has been officially confirmed via a teaser as there is no other flagship on the company’s radar other than the upcoming OP5.

Apparently, the OnePlus 3T 64GB version is still on sale ($439, available on Giztop for $399) and that is because there is a large inventory of this version available. Besides, there is still some months ahead before the OnePlus 5 will hit store shelves. The OnePlus 3T comes with a Snapdragon 821 chipset backed by 6GB of RAM while the upcoming OnePlus 5 is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 835 chip and there are talks of a 8GB RAM version as well as a dual camera setup onboard the flaghship.

It is heart breaking when someone leads you on and then decides to break your heart. That is what happened today between OnePlus and I. A couple of days ago, the official OnePlus twitter account had teased a new product set to launch today. The teaser showed the date of the launch written against a blue background and most of us had thought it was a sign that the OnePlus 3T was going to get a blue variant. It also had French fashion accessory maker, Colette’s, double blue dots.

Fast forward to today and OnePlus finally launched the new product which disappointingly turned out to be a matte black OnePlus 3T in a blue box. Can you imagine? In a blue box!!!

The new OnePlus 3T Colette Edition is a special edition variant to celebrate Colette’s 20th anniversary. Colette’s logo is engraved on the back and only 250 units will be available for purchase. The new variant is basically the 128GB version with a fresh coat of paint. It will sell for 479 Euros ($510) and will go on sale on the 21st of March at 11 am.

OnePlus says early birds who purchase this limited edition device will get a free pair of OnePlus Bullets earphones. If you live in Paris and you have been waiting to get the OnePlus 3T, this is your chance to do so.

The catch is this is a limited edition that sells for the same price as the regular variant. You also stand a chance to get a free pair of earphones that cost 19.95 Euros on a normal day.

The OnePlus 3T can be referred to as the new Android poster boy. It’s one of the few phones that offers true premium quality and features at an affordable price. Even way more affordable than Google’s own Pixel and Pixel XL.

The OnePlus 3T, apart from being the most powerful phone is also the first OnePlus device to have a 128GB storage variant in addition to the 64GB base model. The extra storage storage will cost you more money if that is the variant you prefer. The US version is priced at $479 (out of stock for now) while the Europe/Asia variant is available for £439/$543. However, online mall Giztop, has it for $549 which is a very fair price if you ask me.

Excluding the large storage, this variant is the same as the 64GB model. It has the same 5.5-inch optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4, 6GB of RAM, 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 SoC, 16MP rear camera, 16MP selfie shooter, and 3400mAh battery.

The bands supported on the Europe/Asia version are B1/3/5/7/8. Do note that only the Gunmetal variant is available.
