Now, the company is all set to launch it in India on January 14. Ahead of its launch, the OnePlus 9RT India model has now emerged on Geekbench confirming its arrival.

A OnePlus device with model number MT2111 passed the Geekbench v5 certification scoring impressive points. It is believed to be the OnePlus 9RT Indian model since the same device was earlier seen on BIS certification. The Geekbench listing reveals a single-core score of 888 points and a multi-core score of 3319 points.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core SoC. It has the first four cores clocked at 1.80GHz, the other three cores clocked at 2.42 GHz, and the last core clocked at 2.84GHz. The device has 12GB of RAM but unfortunately, it runs on Android 11. But we expect the company to push the Android 12 update soon after the launch.

Regarding its other specs, the phone was launched with a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner for security.

The screen also doubles up as an in-display fingerprint scanner. It sports a triple camera system at the rear with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. The device has a 16MP single selfie camera lens.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage. It packs a 4,500mAh battery with Warp Charge 65T fast charging support. It boots on Android 11 out of the box.

In China, the phone was launched in three colors – Black, Silver, and Blue and came at a starting price of roughly $500. That said, we expect the phone to come in similar colors and arrive between ₹40,000(~$537) to ₹45,000(~$604) price range in India.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 could come at a cheaper price of ₹4,999(~$67) and will have 11mm dynamic drivers, a 3-mic setup, and 40dB ANC.

A November launch was expected initially but the first official hint popped up only in December when support pages for the duo made an appearance on the OnePlus site.

Fast forward to January, and it’s now that the launch of the OnePlus 9RT and Buds Z2 has been officially teased for the very first time. The teasers should be especially intriguing for the wannabe cryptographers and sleuths out there since they involve a bit of decrypting.

A couple of tweets with morse code were dropped by OnePlus India on Sunday, decoding which reveals the names of the two devices. The caption for the OnePlus Buds Z2 tweet reads “Get ready to play with silence,” which is an obvious reference to the earbuds’ active noise cancellation capabilities.

But it’s the OnePlus 9RT that’s inarguably the star of the show, with fans and potential buyers from India waiting impatiently to get their hands on it for months. A “Coming soon” on the caption points towards a closer-than-ever launch, meaning we should be seeing more of the teasers in the coming days.

It is most likely that both OnePlus 9RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 will be launched together in the country considering they made their debut on the same day in China as well.

The 9RT sports a 120Hz 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1300nits and support for HDR10+. It is protected by Gorilla Glass and packs an under-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, you get the Snapdragon 888 SoC that should offer a notable performance boost over last year’s Snapdragon 870 on the OnePlus 9R. The photography is handled by a triple camera setup at the rear, the primary lens of which packs an IMX766 50MP sensor.

The OnePlus 9RT is expected to cost between Rs 40,000 and Rs 45,000 while the OnePlus Buds Z2 could be priced at Rs 4,999 in India.

For those who don’t know, the OnePlus 9 is currently selling for ₹36,999(~$497) in India after clubbing the discount coupon and bank cards. Originally, the phone costs ₹49,999(~$671). The OnePlus 9R costs ₹39,999(~$537) and it is also available at a cheaper price after clubbing the same discounts.

As per the distribution network OnePlus is planning to discontinue 8T, 9R and vanilla 9 as soon as 9RT is launched. This could be the case behind all these sudden discounts across the lineup.
Haven't seen OnePlus products to come done in price within 6-8 months of launch.

While we take the discontinuance with a grain of salt, OnePlus may actually be preparing to introduce the OnePlus 9RT in the future months.

As for now, OnePlus China plans to unveil its flagship OnePlus 10 series next month. Recently, the phones were touted to launch in early January 2022. Notably, it will be a China launch and we’re expected to see plenty of upgrades over the predecessors. The major upgrades will be to the design and internals.

The series will be employing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will have a unique camera module. It was recently touted to come with 80W fast charging support. The phones are expected to run on Android 12 OS out of the box.

91mobiles has learned from industry insider Ishan Agarwal that the OnePlus RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 will be going live in India in December.
To recall, the OnePlus 9RT was recently found to be rebranded as the OnePlus RT in India. It is most likely that the Indian variant will come with the exact set of specs as its Chinese counterpart. As such, the OnePlus RT will feature a 6.62-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1300 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ certification, and a 600Hz touch sampling rate. It will be equipped with the Snapdragon 888 processor – a notable upgrade over the OnePlus 9R’s Snapdragon 870 – that has been paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Moving on to the camera department, the rear module packs a 50MP primary + 16MP wide-angle + 2MP macro camera setup. Upfront, there’s a 16MP selfie shooter fitted within a left-aligned punch-hole. The device is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 comes with an upgraded design that has done away with plastic tips in favor of in-ear silicone ones for a more comfy fit. The earbuds feature 11mm drivers and support AAC and SBC Bluetooth codecs. But perhaps the best bit is the all-new ANC support with claims of reducing noise by up to 40dB. Other than this, the earbuds come with IP55 splash-proof certification, support Warp Charge, and have a battery life of up to 7 hours.

The OnePlus RT is expected to be priced under Rs. 40,000, while the OnePlus Buds Z2 may cost around Rs. 5,815 (derived from Chinese pricing of CNY 499).

It offers a Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 888 5G processor, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery.
The phone went on sale for the first time today in China where it managed to surpass 100 million Yuan worth of sales in just 5 minutes, thus proving its popularity and demand. If calculated at the price of 3,399 Yuan ($577), the units sold must’ve been around 30,000.

In India, the OnePlus 9RT could be priced between ₹40,000 to ₹44,000 (~$533-587), as per a new report.
