OnePlus has launched the Nord CE 3 Lite in India. Alongside, the brand has also announced the Nord Buds 2 TWS earphones. The newest Nord-branded smartphone arrives as the successor to the last year’s Nord CE 2 Lite. The latest offering packs significant upgrades over its predecessor. The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite features a center-aligned punch-hole display measuring 6.71 inches. It offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button and two camera rings on the back panel. On the audio front, the device is equipped with dual stereo speakers. 

On the imaging front, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite sports triple rear cameras. The setup comprises a 108MP main sensor with 3x lossless zoom, a 2MP depth lens, and a 2MP macro unit. There is a 16MP front-facing selfie snapper. 

Under the hood, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is equipped with a Snapdragon 695 SoC that also powers its predecessor. It packs 8GB RAM along with 8GB virtual RAM technology. The device is offered in 128GB and 256GB storage options. The smartphone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery unit supporting 67W fast charging. Software-wise, the Nord CE 3 Lite runs on OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. It will receive two years of guaranteed OS and three years of security updates. 

Connectivity options on the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite include 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm jack.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is offered in Pastel Lime and Chromatic Grey colors. It is priced at Rs 19,999 and Rs 21,999 for the 128GB and 256GB variants respectively. The smartphone will go on open sale starting April 11th from the brand’s website, OnePlus Experience stores, and Amazon. ICICI Bank customers can avail Rs 1,000 instant discount on the purchase of the Nord CE 3 Lite.

The first Nord smartphone debuted in 2020 and if you keep up with the industry, you might remember the kind of hype OnePlus built around it. The PR team was clearly doing overtime, and truth be told, the smartphone largely lived up to the hype. Soon, the Chinese company will be launching another Nord-branded smartphone, called OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. It is scheduled to debut on April 4 and is expected to target the lower mid-range segment with decent specifications. OnePlus has been teasing the handset extensively and there’s a considerable amount of information available out there. So, here we have gathered everything about the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite.

Design and Display

OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G (well, the name is indeed a mouthful) will debut with a pretty standard design. The phone will have a slightly curved back panel featuring two rings positioned at the top right corner. One of the rings will contain the primary camera, while the other will house the depth and macro shooters. OnePlus has been teasing the phone in a striking pastel lime color, but there might be other color options as well.

The front is business as usual. You get a flat display with a punch-hole cutout on the top center. There are thin bezels on the sides. However, the chin is comparatively thicker. All in all, the Nord CE 3 Lite looks premium for an entry-level smartphone.

As per the company, the smartphone’s display will measure 6.72 inches and offer a 120Hz refresh rate. It is currently unclear whether the handset will feature an AMOLED panel, as it is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader which suggests otherwise. In any case, the Nord CE 3 lite’s display is considerably better than its predecessor, which debuted with a 6.52-inch panel supporting only a 90Hz refresh rate.

Specifications

As mentioned, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will arrive as a mid-range smartphone and sit right below the higher-end Nord phones. OnePlus markets the phone as a gaming device, but its processor suggests that it may not be entirely performance-oriented and instead, geared toward everyday tasks. In any case, it should still be capable of handling most tasks efficiently.

The smartphone will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and will support 67W charging, which is significantly faster than what most phones in this segment offer.

According to reports, the device will receive two years of major OS updates and three years of security updates, which is consistent with what other manufacturers typically provide, with the exception of Samsung. The Korean company offers a minimum of three major updates even for its budget-friendly phones.

For photography, the Nord CE 3 Lite will feature a triple camera unit, headlined by a 108MP primary camera with support for optical image stabilization (OIS). This is a first for a Nord-branded smartphone. OnePlus says the main sensor will offer 3x lossless zoom. It will be accompanied by a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth shooter on the back. The handset may feature a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

Expected Pricing

As per a report, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will be available in a sole 8GB + 128GB memory configuration in India, with an MRP (Maximum Retail Price) of ₹27,999. However, it is widely known that products are not sold at MRP in India, so the actual cost is likely to be lower, possibly below ₹25,000. Despite this, the device will still be more expensive than its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is planned to go official on April 4 at 7 PM IST in India. It will be accompanied by OnePlus Nord Buds 2.

The device will come with a few changes compared to its predecessor. It will arrive with a revamped design, a 108MP main camera, and 67W fast charging support.

However, it will retain the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, 5,000mAh battery, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and 120Hz display (LCD).

OnePlus is gearing up to launch the Nord CE 3 Lite along with the Nord Buds 2 on April 4th. The brand has been teasing key specifications of the upcoming devices leading up to the launch event. Yesterday it was confirmed that the Nord CE 3 Lite will be the first in the Nord lineup to feature a 108MP main camera with 3x lossless zoom. Today the brand teased that it will pack up to 8GB virtual RAM technology. 

Additionally, OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu has revealed some key specifications of the Nord CE 3 Lite in an interview with TechRadar. He stated that the upcoming offering will feature a 6.72-inch large display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s unclear whether the panel will be AMOLED, however, it doesn’t seem like a possibility since we can spot a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the device. 

Liu added that the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor under the hood. This is the same chipset that powered the Nord CE 2 Lite. The upcoming offering will ship with OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 out of the box. The executive also stated that  “with the powerful and outstanding specifications, the price of OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G will also be satisfying“. 

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will be available in Pastel Lime and Chromatic Grey colors. Going by the confirmed specifications, it appears that the upcoming offering will pack incremental upgrades over its predecessor. We will learn about the smartphone’s pricing and availability next week.

OnePlus has confirmed the launch of its latest smartphone, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, along with the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 on April 4th, in India. The new smartphone is the successor to the Nord CE 2 Lite and will offer the company’s signature ‘Fast and Smooth Experience’ with a unique design, including a fresh new Pastel Lime color and a simple, yet charming two-circle camera layout.

Reliable tipster Max Jambor said last week that the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G will debut on April 4. At the moment, there is no official word from OnePlus about when the Nord CE 3 Lite will come out. The listing suggests the handset will run OxygenOS 13, based Android 13, out of the box.
