ZMI TWS Headphone Team’s product sale exceeds 1 million units

ZMI, a Xiaomi-backed company known for making charging products, also has a lineup of true wireless earphones. Now, the company has announced that its TWS Earbuds series has crossed the benchmark of selling over 1 million units.

Making the announcement, the Research & Development team of ZMI TWS Earphones expressed gratitude to the users for their support and trust. The team added that they will continue to move forward with persistent efforts to provide more good choices.

ZMI had launched its first true wireless earbuds in its home market last year — ZMI Purpods and Purpods Pro, priced at 199 yuan and 399 yuan respectively. As the name indicates, the Pro is a high-end variant that comes with support for Active Noise Cancellation and offers up to 35dB noise reduction.

Earlier this year, the company starting selling the PurPods true wireless earbuds for 199 yuan but it currently retails for 179 yuan. It comes with EQsmart adaptive technology that adjusts the volume according to the sound levels in the users’ surroundings.

Interestingly, the ZMI TWS Headset Team also developed the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro earphones that were launched for 349 yuan. It features Active Noise Cancellation up to 35dB and offers ultra-low latency of 69ms.

Redmi, the sub-brand of Xiaomi, launched the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro alongside the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G in China. This latest pair of truly wireless earphones just recently went official for the global markets as Redmi Buds 3 Pro. A few days from that, the product is now receiving a new firmware update, which brings a feature called ‘game low latency’.

Wireless earphones are not preferred by gamers as they tend to have latency issues. To solve this problem, companies have been offering low latency mode for some time now.

The Redmi AirDots 3 Pro are no different. They also support low latency mode. But the feature just got added via the latest firmware update.

As per the official announcement on Weibo, users can now utilize the newly added 69ms game low latency mode for a better gaming experience. It is worth noting that this firmware update is only applicable for the original Chinese model – Redmi AirDots 3 Pro.

We are not sure if the global Redmi Buds 3 Pro come with this feature out of the box or they will be getting it in a future firmware update. But it should be available soon if not at the moment as there is a mention of it in the spec sheet.

The Redmi AirDots 3 Pro are priced at ¥349 in China. On the other hand, the Redmi Buds 3 Pro retail for $60.

Redmi Buds 3 Pro goes official as the global variant of the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro

A couple of months ago, in May this year, Xiaomi had launched its Redmi AirDots 3 Pro true wireless earphones in its home market China. Now, the company has launched the same product but with a different.

The Redmi Buds 3 Pro is now officially launched globally. The pair of the earphone is priced at $60 but as an introductory offer, the TWS earphones are available for the price of $40, offering a discount.

In terms of specifications, it remains the same as the Air Dots 3 Pro launched earlier this year. It packs 9mm drivers and three microphones for noise cancelation and voice pickup. The Adaptive Noise Cancellation feature on the earphones is claimed to block out 35dB of outside noise and offers ultra-low latency of 69ms.

For connectivity, there’s Bluetooth 5.2 with support for simultaneous connection to two devices at once. As for the battery life, the company claims that it can offer up to 28 hours of battery life using the charging case. The charging case houses a USB Type C port on the bottom for a quicker charge, while it even supports Qi wireless charging as well.

The newly launched Redmi Buds 3 Pro comes in two color options — Black and Grey. The earphones will be available for purchase through Aliexpress. As noted earlier, during the initial sale dates, the TWS earphones will cost $40 instead of their regular price of $60.

In May, Redmi unveiled its 3rd iteration of the AirDots series dubbed the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro. Initially, at the launch, the buds were announced in two colors – Ice Crystal Gray and Obsidian Black. The former color variant went on sale on June 11 but the latter was yet to go on sale. Today, the AirDots 3 Pro Obsidian Black has gone on sale in China.

The Redmi AirDots 3 Pro is priced at CNY 349(~$54) but for today(July 9), as an introductory offer, the Obsidian Black color will be available for CNY 329(~$51). It will be available from Xiaomi stores across China.

The AirDots 3 Pro is TWS earbuds that offer Active Noise Cancellation on budget. It comes with a 35d noise reduction feature that enables the buds to cut off the outside noise, offering clear sound. It also has support for the 69ms Ultra-low latency feature. It ensures that there’s less to no lag in the audio while gaming or video streaming.

It has a low-power chip that allows the earbuds to work for up to 6 hours without the case and up to 28 hours with the charging case(with ANC turned off). It has an in-ear design which is quite lightweight at just 4.9 grams.

It also comes with an IPX4 waterproof rating ensuring that they can resist a few water splashes. The buds also feature a Qi wireless charging technology.

Redmi AirDots 3 Pro Full Review: The Earbuds we’ll recommend from Xiaomi this year

Redmi has finally launched their first active noise-canceling earbuds —the AirDots 3 Pro. I’m sure Redmi fans have been looking forward to these earbuds for a long time, so without further ado, let’s get right into the review.

The design of the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro is different from all the previous Xiaomi and Redmi earbuds. Although the case is still oval-shaped, the direction of opening the lid is different, which makes it easier to open it with just one hand. The pairing buttons are not hidden underneath or at the back but are placed on the front, probably because they can be pressed easily. The charging port is surrounded by a metal ring, which increases the reliability of the port. Magnets have also been added to the hinge of the lid so that it doesn’t close easily. Notably, these entry-level noise-canceling earbuds is equipped with wireless charging, which should be a rarity in its price range. Further, its frosted surface won’t scratch and stain fingerprints easily, so I think the AirDots 3 Pro offers better quality this time. In fact, in terms of details, I think it is even better than Xiaomi’s Flipbuds Pro, thereby exceeding my expectations.

As soon as I picked up the earbuds, I noticed that they were much lighter than the Flipbuds Pro that I had been wearing. The 4.9g weight of the single earbud is almost 2g lighter than the Flipbuds Pro. It is also not as big as the Flipbuds, so it is very comfortable to wear. It is operated by touch, you can long-press to switch to the noise cancellation mode, you can tap to play, pause or jump to the next song, or you can assign a custom operation. Bluetooth decoding protocol supports SBC and AAC, but there’s no LHDC or aptX, and no obvious equalizer. But you can choose your favorite equalizer setting in the Mi AI app.

Redmi says it can cancel up to 35dB of noise, which is slightly lower than the noise-canceling strength of the Flipbuds Pro. But the actual experience is not much different, as the noise reduction ability is still very good. But the wind noise control is rather strange. When the wind is a little stronger, it will turn off the feedforward microphone to reduce the impact of wind noise. Sometimes when the wind blows, you will feel that suddenly the noise reduction intensity is reduced by half, making it quite uncomfortable.

The AirDots 3 Pro can reach a minimum latency of 69ms with the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Unfortunately, it can’t control the earbuds from the Bluetooth settings page like the Flipbuds Pro (Review). So you can only control all its functions through Mi AI APP. You all should know that Mi AI app only supports Chinese, so we have translated its settings interface for you, so you can check the screenshot for reference if required. The noise cancellation mode is basically the same as the Flipbuds pro, providing three levels of noise cancellation, transparency mode also has an option to enhance the voice.

The AirDots 3 Pro has a new adaptive noise cancellation mode that intelligently adjusts the noise cancellation intensity according to the noise in your environment. When you start playing a game, it will also automatically turn on the low latency mode, but the setting needs to be turned on first. There is also an interesting feature called adaptive chat mode. When the earbuds detect that you are talking, it will switch to pass-through mode, and when you don’t talk, they will cut back to noise-canceling mode. We’ve seen these features on the Huawei FreeBuds pro and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro. But it’s shocking that Redmi has equipped these two features in its entry-level noise-canceling earbuds.

There are no surprises in terms of battery life. In the strongest noise cancellation mode the battery life is about 5 hours, and you can turn off the noise cancellation mode for an additional hour of use. If you connect two devices at the same time and switch more frequently, the battery life will be shortened by about one hour.

Redmi AirDots series earbuds have always been very cost-effective, and this AirDots 3 Pro is no exception. Not only the design is good, but also the function has added many features that only the flagship noise-canceling earbuds had before. If you are a Xiaomi phone user, I would recommend the AirDots 3 Pro even more than the Flipbuds pro, but only if you are okay with its strange anti-wind noise effect.

These Chinese electronics maker – Redmi has launched a new Redmi AirDots 3 Pro TWS earbuds with slight new upgrades over the AirDots 3. It is said to feature all-new “AI adaptive noise cancellation” technology for a better sound experience while eliminating unnecessary sounds. It further houses a 9mm composite dynamic driver, 69ms latency with 6 hours of continuous playback. It is currently launched in China, but the pre-orders are globally live via Giztop. Redmi AirDots 3 Pro could launch as POCO Pop Buds and Redmi Buds 3 Pro in some markets

A year ago, POCO India crowdfunded a name for its first truly wireless earphones. However, the brand is yet to debut this product. Thankfully, these earbuds may finally launch in the coming days as they appear on the Bluetooth SIG website.

POCO India’s first truly wireless earphones were confirmed to be called POCO Pop Buds in May 2020. A pair of TWS with this branding has been now certified by Bluetooth SIG (via @i_hsay).

Unsurprisingly, these earbuds will be a rebadged Redmi product. According to the listing, the recently launched Redmi AirDots 3 Pro with model number TWSEJ01ZM will make their way to some regions as POCO Pop Buds as well as Redmi Buds 3 Pro.

Hence, the POCO Pop Buds should have the exact same set of specifications as the Redmi AirDots 3 Pro. Additionally, they could arrive in exclusive colors like ‘POCO Yellow’.

Talking about specs, we can expect features like 9mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.2, 35dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), 69ms low latency, gesture controls, multi-device connection, IPX4 splash resistance, Qi wireless charging, and up to 28-hour battery life.

Unfortunately, there’s no official word from either POCO or Redmi regarding the POCO Pop Buds and Redmi Buds 3 Pro. Anyway, we believe that the POCO-branded product could go official alongside the POCO F3 GT.

Earlier today (26th May 2021), Redmi held a launch conference in which it launched the Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G. Along with the mid range smartphone, the company also launched the new AirDots 3 Pro true wireless earphones.

The AirDots 3 Pro is the latest hearables from the Chinese tech giant and arrives with the popular ANC feature (active noise cancellation). As per official notes, the earbuds supports 35d noise reduction and even offers ultra low latency of 69ms, which is another great addition as it helps in online mobile gaming. Notably, the device can also be connected to two smartphones at once, making it capable of switching between different handsets seamlessly.

Looking at the design, the charging case features a tall oval shape while earbuds themselves resemble the AirDots designs that we have seen in past versions. The charging case houses a USB Type C port on the bottom for a quicker charge, while it even supports Qi wireless charging as well.

The AirDots 3 Pro has just been launched in China and is priced at 349 Yuan (roughly 55 US Dollars. Although, the company is offering the new truly wireless earphones for a discounted initial price of just 299 Yuan (roughly 47 US Dollars). The earphones will officially go on sale starting from 11th June 2021.

Redmi AirDots 3 Pro with Active Noise Cancellation support to launch tomorrow

Xiaomi-backed Redmi is all set to launch its new Redmi Note 10 series smartphones in the Chinese market tomorrow, i.e. on 26th May. Now, just a day ahead of the launch event, the company has confirmed another product for the launch — Redmi AirDots 3 Pro.

As the name indicates, The Redmi AirDots 3 Pro is the next-generation true wireless earphones from the brand. It is also the first true wireless earphones from the Redmi brand to come with support for Active Noise Cancellation.

Redmi says that the wearable device offers Pro-level flagship-grade noise reduction performance and supports deep noise reduction. Similar to other such offerings from Xiaomi, this one too comes with support for Active Noise Cancellation.

There’s also an Ultra-low latency mode which may be the “lowest latency noise reduction headset in the industry,” says the company. Further, it is touted to offer pro-level appearance, sound quality, and cost-effectiveness.

The company is offering different modes for noise reduction, including Office, Daily, Air Tours, etc. along with support for the Transparent mode that avoids complete isolation from the surrounding environment.

The Redmi AirDots 3, the non-pro variant, was launched in China a few months ago for a price of 199 yuan. The earphones, which come with the same design as its predecessor, is available for purchase in three color options — White, Black, and Pink.

The Redmi AirDots 3 Pro comes just days after Xiaomi launched its latest FlipBuds Pro TWS earphones in the market with support for 40dB Active Noise Cancellation. It remains to be seen how this new headset from Redmi differs from the FlipBuds Pro. We will get to know more about this, including specs, features, pricing, and availability details when it gets officially launched tomorrow, i.e. on 26th May.
