Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy S21 FE has had a tortuous ride that had resulted in its late release At a point, the device was almost ruled out as vaporware as the global component shortage, in combination with several other issues, had made it possible for the device to miss its scheduled unveiling twice, allegedly. However, the wait is almost over and the impending launch of the Galaxy S21 FE has been heralded by a full specs overview of the smartphone.

The Galaxy S21 FE is scheduled for an early 2022 launch, most likely January 2022- that is, barring any shifts due to unforeseen circumstances. The phone had been the subject of much speculation due to its extended period of suspense as a result of its non-release on schedule. Some renders, images, and specs details have been speculated for the Galaxy S21 FE, but it seems we now have the most authentic details yet for the device. The full specs sheet of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has emanated from what some industry buffs are calling informed sources.

Although pricing details are still lacking for the Galaxy S21 FE, we can seemingly confirm that the major hardware changes were done in the new smartphone, compared to its predecessors, the Galaxy S21 and S21+. There are software updates that could extend to Android 15 for the Galaxy S21 FE, thus enhancing its lifespan. The extended software support for the Galaxy S21 FE will put it on a higher plane than the Galaxy S21 or Galaxy S21+.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE has been a huge success on the marketing side and it was expected that Samsung will ultimately release a successor to the device. The Galaxy S21 FE was therefore seen as a worthy and potentially a more illustrious successor to the S20 FE. However, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has had a turbulent development, as it was rumored that its scheduled release was shifted due to chip shortages.

There had been rumors swirling around relating to the Galaxy S21 FE due partly to its delayed projected release. However, recent speculations have indicated that Samsung is indeed on track for the launch of this fans edition model at a Galaxy Unpacked event within the first week of January 2022. A tipster has now gone ahead to post the Galaxy S21 FE’s key specs and some images of the device.

As per the latest leak, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will come with a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED capable of 120Hz display refresh rate. The display is secured with Gorilla Glass while the rear will be made of polycarbonate plastic. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 64MP primary camera at the rear of the device. The camera setup also includes an ultra-wide and a depth sensor for the primary camera, as well as a 32MP front camera. The Galaxy S21 FE will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100 chipsets offering 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. If you already considered the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE as vaporware, you won’t have been entirely wrong as the device was almost thought to have been discontinued. However, Samsung has rekindled hope of an imminent launch as the support page for the device which had earlier been pulled down from the Korean brand’s website has now gone live again.

Support pages for a Samsung model with model number SM-G990 believed to be the Galaxy S21 FE have been re-uploaded on Samsung’s website in two different markets. A variant with model number SM-G990E appeared on the Samsung Africa website. The device had earlier been spotted on GeekBench and Google Play Console packing an in-house Exynos 2100 chipset. However, there is likely to be a Snapdragon 888-powered version launched in the US and China.

The Galaxy S21 FE is rumored to launch on January 11 and this latest leak almost confirms that date. The delay in the launch is attributed to the global shortage of chipsets which has forced some automobile giants to shut down some of their factories.

There has been a lot of rumors and leaks surrounding the Galaxy S21 FE series. The device is also highly anticipated even though Samsung is yet to disclose when it will be launched. There are rumors that the device will go official in October. Apparently, the rumors may be true after all. The Galaxy S21 FE’s quick start guide has just leaked from a US carrier Cricket Wireless. The carrier is an AT&T-owned prepaid carrier that offers affordable phone plans that aren’t tied to annual contracts.

The guide shows that the phone will be offered by the carrier and that the launch is close by. It also confirms some of the vital info for users as well as live images of the affordable flagship device.

The Galaxy S21 FE is a highly-anticipated device mainly due to its ability to offer flagship features found on the Galaxy S21 series at an affordable price. The device will take over from the Galaxy S20 FE which was a hit when it was released last year.

This new leak comes not too long after the user manual for the S21 FE leaked online showing the device won’t have a MicroSD slot, among other things. The manual also reveals the device will also come with an IP68 waterproof rating, a high display refresh rate, and will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor among others. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE appears on Google Play Console, launch imminent?

It is no longer in doubt that Korean tech giant Samsung is planning to release the Galaxy S21 FE soon. The device has repeatedly kept the rumor mill buzzing and still does that. Not too long after 3D renders of the Galaxy S21 FE appeared online, the device has now been spotted on Google Play Console.

The Google Play Console listing for the Galaxy S21 FE which was spotted by MyFixGuide, confirms some of the key specifications of the flagship model. The listing shows that the Galaxy S21 FE will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with Adreno 660 GPU, and a frequency of 840MHz. The processor is paired with 6GB of RAM. There are rumors of an Exynos 2100 version but we cannot confirm if that will become a reality.

While the display size wasn’t listed, the S21 FE is listed to feature a display resolution of 1080 x 2009 pixels. Earlier leaks show the device is expected to feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display holds a punch-hole design which houses a 32MP selfie camera. The device will also run on Android 11 which we expect to get the OneUI customization.

As far as the release date is concerned, that is still a mystery. We can only wait for Samsung’s final confirmation but the launch will likely be in the coming months.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S21 FE later this year as a successor to the highly popular Galaxy S20 FE which was launched last year. For a while now, the Galaxy S21 FE has been in the news with the device rumored to drop in September. While renders of the device have not been evasive, popular tipster, Evan Blass has shared a set of 3D renders of the S21 FE showing the entire device in all its glory. The 3D renders also show the rice array of color options that the smartphone will be available in.

Going by the 3D renders, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will be available in White, Green, Gray, Violet, and Blue color options. Earlier rumors tout the Galaxy S21 FE to come in four color options but the renders include a Blue option as a fifth addition to the mix.

The Galaxy S21 FE is expected to feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display holds a punch-hole design which houses a 32MP selfie camera. The processor is paired with up to 8GB RAM and there will be up to 256GB storage but there won’t be room for storage expansion.

The media was awash recently with news that Korean tech giant Samsung had halted plans to mass-produce the much-anticipated Galaxy S21 FE due to a chip shortage. Samsung has now responded to the report, stating it has not made a decision on whether to stop production of the Galaxy S21 FE.

In a statement sent to Bloomberg, the company said: “Although we cannot discuss the details of the unreleased products, the so-called suspension of production has not yet been determined.”

The news of Samsung halting product of the expected phone was first carried by Korean blog ETNews and was hinged on the prevailing shortages being encountered in the semiconductor industry. The report also asserted that the Qualcomm processors set aside for the S21 FE had been reassigned to foldable devices scheduled for launch in August. The report has since been deleted, ostensibly due to Samsung’s response.

The Galaxy S21 FE is considered a trimmed-down version of the vanilla Galaxy S21, with no significant reduction in functions and a more affordable price. The new version will take over from the Galaxy S20 FE which was released last year. The FE stands for Fans Edition which is reflected in the premium build and affordable pricing for which the series is known since its inception.

Despite Samsung’s debunking of the report of production being suspended, the company didn’t outrightly affirm that production is still going on. Thus, it may take some time before the actual state of things is known. The Galaxy S20 FE wasn’t announced until September last year and it went on sale in October. We expect the Galaxy S21 FE release schedule to be around that same time.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has been a regular in leaks lately. According to a recent report, the flagship smartphone will be launched in August. The device which will be more affordable than the Galaxy S21 models is tipped to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3. Now, the Galaxy S21 FE had earlier appeared on the GeekBench database packing 6GB of RAM. A new GeekBench listing has been spotted which shows that the S21 FE will get an 8GB RAM version.

The new Galaxy S21 FE with 8GB RAM appeared with the model number Samsung SM-G990B. The listing first appeared on GeekBench database on June 9. Apart from packing a juicier 8GB RAM, th new model equally comes with the Android 11 operating system and a Qualcomm processor codenamed Lahaina. We already know that is the Snapdragon 888 SoC. What this means is that both models will be packing the same chipset and there won’t be an Exynos 2100 version. Even if there will be one, that is not known at this time. The device manages a single-core test score of 592 and a multi-core score of 2610.

Samsung’s Mexico website accidentally reveals the Galaxy S21 FE moniker

A post on Samsung Mexico’s website may have inadvertently released the name of the yet-to-be-released successor to the Galaxy S20 FE, which is named the Galaxy S21 FE. This is the first mention of the name of the model and pundits at GalaxyClub, Samsung’s fan club, believe that if indeed there is a Galaxy S21 FE in the works, then we could see its release within the year. The website briefly displayed the name Galaxy S21 FE on a banner without any accompanying listing or pictures. The link to the message took users to the comparison page of the Galaxy S21 series.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G’s color variants for China

The webpage could indicate the possibility of a Galaxy S21 FE coming on board anytime this year or it may also be an accidental post that was quickly brought down. There were no further comments on the error or otherwise of posting the name on the website. There was no such mention of the Galaxy S21 FE in other major Samsung websites like the US and South Korea, which are major purveyors of information on releases.

The US and South Korean customers are usually the first recipients of Samsung’s product launches across several product lines and we would expect that if the S21 FE indeed makes its way into the market this year, then the US and South Korean site would likely provide information along that line.

Samsung has seen a flurry of releases this week that cover an array of products from smartphones to laptops. The company also announced within the week, a strong first-quarter performance. It hopes to sustain its fair outlook for the rest of the year, which can be driven by a strong and rapid rollout of its smartphones and other gadgets to its teeming customers across the world.
