Huawei launched the Honor V9 and announced a bunch of other items still under the Honor brand earlier this week. In spite of that, the Chinese manufacturer doesn’t seem to be done. Huawei has also announced that it plans to release a 360° camera add-on device called the Honor VR Camera.

The Honor VR Camera is the result of a partnership with Insta360, a company known for making add-on cameras for phones. Huawei bundles the Honor V9 phone with a pair of cardboard-like VR glasses. The Honor VR Camera is probably a nice addition in case you need to make your own VR content.

The CEO of Insta360, JK Liu said during the announcement that “Like us, Huawei is committed to reinventing photography, and they believe in our products as the best way to introduce users to the future of the camera.”

The Honor VR Camera is said to offer 3K photography and seamless livestreaming. It will have a dedicated app developed by Insta360 for users to share and livestream their content.

Huawei plans to start international sales of the camera but there is still no info on pricing and availability. We presume it might be revealed when they launch the Honor 8 Pro.
