Samsung is rumored to soon debut the Galaxy Tab Active 2 as a successor of the original Galaxy Tab Active 2 from 2014. The specifications of the device have already appeared in the previous month and it has been also approved by Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the U.S. Over the weekend, the user manual of the Galaxy Tab Active 2 has appeared on Samsung’s official site. Also, well-known leakster Roland Quandt has unearthed some interesting information of the upcoming Samsung tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is expected to arrive in two models, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + LTE. These variants have respective model numbers of SM-T390 and SM-T395. The latter has already appeared on GFXBench benchmarking site. The user manual of the Galaxy Tab Active 2 has revealed that the tablet will be having a removable back cover and the following image clearly shows that it has a user-replaceable battery.

The user manual also reveals that it features a S Pen stylus. The Home button that is positioned below the display is integrated with a fingerprint reader.  Its bottom side features a USB-C port. The other image from the user manual shows that it will feature Bixby Home. However, it is unlikely to feature Bixby Voice.

According to Quandt, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be a business-centric tablet. Since the screen of the tablet is integrated with Wacom digitizer, it will be arriving with a S Pen stylus. Since it is an Active branded device from Samsung, it will be coming with a IP68 certified ruggedized body.

With external POGO pins available on the device, users will be able to connect third-party accessories like barcode readers to it. The South Korean company is providing a software development kit that will allow developers to build special apps for corporate use.

The tablet will be coming with an 8-inch TFT LCD display that will support a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixel and offer 480 nits of brightness. Quandt has further stated that it will be fueled by Exynos 7880 chipset that features a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor. The SoC is supported by 3 GB of RAM.

The rear side of the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will be featuring an 8-megapixel camera that is enabled with auto-focus. For shooting selfies, it will be coming with a 5-megapixel snapper. Apart from Wi-Fi and LTE, other connectivity features available on the tablet include v4.2 Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. Beside fingerprint scanning, the tablet may support facial recognition.
