by Jeet 7

Currently, Mi Mix 2 is the only smartphone with a full-screen display from Xiaomi. That will change on December 7 as the company is all set to launch the much anticipated Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphone on that date.

The company is holding a press event on December 7 where it will launch the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. Along with that, the company has also revealed three major features of the device — Full-Screen Display, Soft Selfie and 4,000mAh Battery.

Redmi 5 and 5 Plus Launch Teaser

While the company has not revealed the phone’s specifications, previous leaks give us hint about what to expect. The Redmi 5 smartphone is expected to come with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, it will be powered by the Snapdragon 450 processor.

Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 450 is a new chipset from the company which was launched in June this year. It is the first chipset in the Snapdragon 400 series that is using a 14mm process technology. It is positioned as an upgrade to the Snapdragon 435 processor.

I’m considering buying a redmi 5plus but I hope for a better CPU and dual camera

      Yes, this is correct 625, 626 or 630 not support FHD+ 18:9, but 636 support FHD+ in 18:9 with Adreno 509. Viva!! 636 with KYRO 260

        Don’t get too excited.
I’m sure xiaomi will manage to disappoint us by using the same SoC and camera on both models.

I wonder about the pricing. The Mi Max 2 has the SD625 with 6.44″ 1080p screen for around $230. The Redmi 5 Plus will have a similar “build” for around $150? I don’t believe it.

    Where is Redmi Note 5?

  • Sir TittyTwist

    The Snapdragon 450 is basically a 625..

It sure is odd using the same chipset in two phones, especially when one has double the resolution.
