Motorola has scheduled a launch event on 19th April in Brazil, where the Lenovo-owned company is expected to launch its upcoming Moto G6 smartphone series. Now, ahead of that, Motorola has slashed the pricing on its Moto G5S in India.

The Moto G5S has received a price cut of Rs. 4,000 in India, bringing down the phone’s effective price to Rs. 9,999. The phone was originally launched in India in August last year for Rs. 13,999.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full-HD IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. The handset runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and is paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

The device comes equipped with a single rear camera that has a 16-megapixel sensor, with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. On the front side, it comes with a 5-megapixel camera sensor with a wide-angle lens, LED flash, and f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB port. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. There’s a 3,000mAh battery under the hood which comes with TurboPower fast charging technology.

This price cut for the Moto G5S smartphone comes at a time when Motorola is expected to launch its next-generation Moto G-series devices — Moto G6, G6 Play and G6 Plus at a launch event on 19th April. Along with Moto G6-series, the company is also preparing to launch Moto E5-series smartphones.
