In the previous week, Xiaomi phones with model numbers M1803E6E, M1803E6T and M1803E6C were approval by China’s 3C authority. It is speculated that these could be the network variants of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi S2 for China. The M1803E6E Redmi S2 was spotted first at TENAA through which its entire specifications were revealed. In the recent past, the M1803E6T and M1803E6C variants of the smartphone have also received certification from TENAA.

Since M1803E6E, M1803E6T and M1803E6C are the variants of the same Redmi S2 phones, they are packed with the same specifications. It measures 160.73 x 77.26 x 8.1mm and weighs 170 grams. The smartphone features a 5.99-inch display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is driven by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor. Recent reports have revealed that the Snapdragon 625 will be powering the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage editions of the S2. The storage models respectively feature 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB of RAM. The handset features a microSD card slot for more storage. The S2 is loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo. It is likely to feature the latest MIUI 9 skin. For photography, it houses a dual camera setup that includes a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapxiel secondary sensor. A 16-megapixel camera is present at the front for shooting selfies.

Even before its official announcement, the Redmi S2 has been spotted in Mi Store at Prague and one of the tech blogs from Czech Republic had already received a review unit earlier in this week. It is speculated that the Redmi S2 could be arriving as an Android One phone outside of China. Its pricing for Vietnam was also leaked in this week. The Redmi S2 is expected to arrive with VND 3,999,000 (~$175) pricing in Vietnam.

Xiaomi and Suning have confirmed that it will be announcing a new product on May 10. It is speculated that the Chinese manufacturer will be launching the Redmi S2 in the coming week.
