Honor 7S is the company’s latest budget smartphone to make its way to India. The phone, which was first launched in Pakistan, has now been launched in India. Priced at Rs. 6,999 (approximately $98), the phone comes in three color options — Black, Blue, and Gold.
The phone will be available for purchase in India from 14th September, exclusively through online marketplace Flipkart and the company’s own HiHonor Online Store. The Honor 7S is the rebranded version of the Honor Play 7 launched in China, with the difference being the front-facing camera.
The Honor 7S features a 5.45-inch FullView HD+ display with 1440×720 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, MediaTek‘s MT6739 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz powers the device, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
As of the camera department, there’s a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with phase detection autofocus, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. On the front, it comes equipped with a 5-megapixel selfie camera along with soft flash and f/2.2 aperture. The company says that the front-facing flash can be adjusted in seven levels. There’s also support for face unlock feature.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Micro USB, Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with the company’s own EMUI custom interface on top. The phone is backed by 3,020mAh battery which the company claims can provide over 10 hours of 4G internet usage.
With the pricing of Rs. 6,999 ($98), the Honor 7S is the cheapest smartphone offered by Honor in India. At this price point, it’ll compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A and Amazon’s recently launched 10.or D2.
